Professor Duskurk stepped into his classroom and banished the desks and chairs. It was standing room only for this class...
NOTE: For those just joining us, please go to the OOC thread in the classroom and find a dueling partner. Then, you may come back here and practice dueling.
UPDATE: Lesson has ended. Homework is as follows and will be due one week from the date of this post.

2) What can you do when facing a more talented and powerful adversary?
"If you are injured, please make your way to the hospital wing prior to heading to you next lesson. I will write notes of excuse for those who need them. Good day."
"Yes, I'm Evelyn. I'm sorry though, I do not know you're name." she said, a small guilty expression on her face. Though, was she guilty?...Nah! But it was manners to be nice to someone and to know their name in case they run into each other again, whether on friendly or enemy terms. Unless the girl just wanted to be called 'Prefect' for the rest of the time she and Evelyn were students here.
Taking a few steps away from everyone else as well, she watched the Prefect bow and she had to hold back a little laugh. Bowing...to her. So funny to see. Making a little bow back, Evelyn held up her wand, all the spells she learned and taught herself running through her mind, at the same time trying to keep the memory of her duel with Josh last year out of her thoughts. Not a good time for that...
Taking a deep breathe, she readied herself for the duel. She would let the Prefect make the first move.
Umm, why did Evelyn look guilty? Gold hadn't really expected ze girl to know her name ... though it was sort of surprising how many people did know it, when she was a transfer and all new. But maybe that was because she was a prefect?
"Gold Laksh," she said, wand at the ready. It actually took her a moment to realize that Evelyn expected her to make the first move. How ... shifty? Well, sort of.
"Oppugno Avis!" A little flock of birds erupted out of the end of her wand, and shot towards Evelyn. In the meanwhile, Gold sort of flicked her wand again, to make sure she had her shield charm up, in advance. Because shield charms are good.

Generally.
Gold. That was a...unique name. Too bad the older girl wasn't called Silver though. That was waaay better then Gold. Well, in her opinion it was.
Though she wasn't able to think too much on the name since suddenly there was a flock of birds zooming towards her. Oh, how she hated birds. She was more of a...snake kind of person. "Impedimenta!" she yelled, pointing her wand at the birds. At least that would bid her some time...
"Expelliarmus!" she yelled again, ducking under one of the birds she missed with her previous spell. And just ask quick, she called out another spell. "Locomotor Mortis!" She was seriously thankful that even though she couldn't remember some of the Professor's names, that she was able to remember the wand movements for spells.
"Merlin forbid I ever lose that arm," he mumbled, finally getting the cords around his wrist loose. "I think I'd fall over a lot more."
More than a few of the red marks were scraped open; he'd probably cut himself with the ropes when moving. Rubbing a particularly vicious red one on his forearm, he looked up and watched Mina as she jumped back and forth. Hyper, wasn't she.
"Well there's a first time for everything... 's the first time I landed a stinging hex, I think."
...and there was Cela. Offering her assistance to Mina in dueling tactics. He had half a mind to offer the same, but... she wouldn't need his help with Cela around and in the same house. Glancing up, he caught the look she was giving him and frowned. Why was she looking at him like he was some injured child who needed attending to? Tearing his eyes away from her, he went back to poking at his stripey arm and trying to decide if he needed to bandage it or not.

Whoa.
"Good job," Gold called out, as Evelyn knocked some of the birds down. Poor birds, though. They deserved better. But she really didn't have time to think of all that, right now.
She was glad she already had her shield charm up, because that Expelliarmus was quite quick. It bounced off her shield charm, though. Deflected. Hopefully, not at anyone else.
ANDD that leg-locker curse hit its mark. Gold's shield charm was gone, because she hadn't expected another spell. Two were enough at once, no? Apparently, not for Evelyn. Smart girl, there!
But two could play at this game.
"Petrificus Totalus!" she pointed her wand at Evelyn, then quickly at her own legs. She couldn't let them stay locked! "Finite Incantatem." She finished off with a quick "Incarcerous!"

Evelyn felt smug at the compliment on her work, slightly losing her concentration, but she shook out of it when she watched her leg locker curse hit Gold.
Though it wasn't long before she had to put her own shield up. "Protego!" She said, taking a step back and holding her wand up in front of her, blocking the first spell. Oh wow, this girl was quick. Before she knew it, Gold had her legs unlocked and their were ropes flying towards her. "Lacarnum Inflamare!" she yelled, fire being the first thing that came to mind.
The spell singed most of the ropes so they were useless before it got to her, though a few pieces here and there wrapped themselves loosely around her legs, shoulders and arms, but it was nothing she couldn't get out of and it didn't restrain her movements. Though she need to watch around her feet for fear of accidentally tripping on the pieces of rope. "Levicorpus! Furnunculus!" Gotta yell random spells quickly! while trying to dodge everything else, including those stupid ropes on the ground. Gah!
Darn. Missed again. Frowning, Melanie raised her wand once more to send another curse at the Ravenclaw, but she didn't get a chance.
No, of course not, because she was surrounded by butterflies. Melanie would have batted the butterflies back, but she didn't want to hurt the pretty creatures. She got distracted pretty easily, watching a purple one flap it's wings, flying about, and then landing on her shoe. Melanie stood perfectly still...watching it intently with round green eyes. It probably wasn't the smartest move in the middle of a duel, but never had a butterfly land on her before... Awww....
Uh-oh. Then the pretty purple butterfly was hit by Ivory's Jelly-Legs Jinx. Time to come back to reality, maybe? Her butterfly flew away, so far oblivious it's misfortune. She'd try and find it later... Melanie, looking absolutely crestfallen, stumbled away from the crowd of butterflies, waiting patiently for them to disassemble and for Ivory to appeared.
Annnnnnd, there she was, looking all cute and innocent. Melanie didn't really want to fight her, but she wasn't stupid. If she didn't do anything, she would surely end up with noodle legs, a stone ear...or some other oddity.
"Confundo!" Melanie aimed her wand at the other girl's feet, ducking as she spoke. Then she followed it up with a second curse, going offensive, instead of protecting herself with a defensive spell. This time, she spoke quieter, trying to hide the fact she was spell casting, as Ivory had done countless times before, only Melanie attempted to do so without employing an actual spell to do it. Melanie just...acted as if she wasn't. She sent a twitchy ears hex flying toward Ivory's head, and then brought herself back up to her feet again, breathing hard, but still moving... Minus her left shoulder.
Huff-puff. Huff-puff. Huff-PUFF.
She felt OLD. Casting spell after spell really took a toll on a person. Gosh.
[/spoiler]
Ivory was still grinning like mad...at pretty much everything. At the fact that this was incredibly entertaining and that there were oh so many butterflies.
As her Jelly-Leg Jinx backfired by hitting one of the many, Ivory could not resist a a look of pain. What if they got hurt? She had wanted them more as a means to camouflage her actions rather than to sacrifice their little lives for her.
Having never really thought about the inevitability of death and it being the final end for all things, she stared at the beautiful insects all around.
Her lower lip beginning to stick out a little as the guilt on conjuring them to help her began to set in.
Her arms lifted out of their own accord and began to move through the air trying to shoo them away from the duel. Sub-consciously, the flame at the tip of her wand burned brighter in response to her emotions in her effort to get them away. So intent was she that when she saw the flash of light that hinted at a spell headed her way, it was too late.
Catching it right between the eyes, made the young girl's eyes go wide with shock...and with that quickly to confusion.
"What in the...?" she asked bewildered.
Ivory's eyes glanced this way and that looking for all the world like a deer caught in headlights. Her mind raced, Where was she again? Was this a torture chamber? There seemed to be people being made to do unbelievable things all over the place. But there was also...
Ooh look purple butterflies. Funny, they looked excatly like the ones she conjured. Wait..."Did I conjure those?" Ivory asked the people around her. Confusion befuddled her mind and as she struggled to comprehend what was going on around her.
It was at that moment that she noticed the girl across from her looking for all the world like an Amazon warrior as she used quick foot work and then....Wow she sure could handle her that thing gracefully. Oh right it was a wand....Oh look she had one too.
About to explain the similarities to the girl she stopped.
What?!? The girl seemed to getting ready to attack. Eyes wide, Ivory took a few steps back and then more...her back coming up flat against the wall.
Oh no, no. She was going to die. She knew it. And with all these people watching. And no one was going to do anything.
As her fear took over and her confusion reigned, the usual semblance of control she had over her physique altering abilities was shot. As she coward against the wall, her hair out of its own accord flattened itself against her skull as if she had been drenched in water and slowly began paling in color heading toward a frightened white. Scrunching her face in as if to protect it, she caught a glimpse of her paling hair and gasped. Oh no, there was a reason that well there was some reason why people shouldn't see this change right? Some important reason? Something well maybe it wasn't that important...huh hmmm well it seemed she was slowly dieing already if her hair was turning white!
Bringing up her wand for at least thats what she felt should be done although she couldn't for the life of her remember why that was, she saw through squinted eyes another spell covertly heading her way. Squeezing them shut, she prayed to whoever or whatever it was she prayed to, to please look after her family, and resigned herself to a young and early death.
As the spell rushed her way, the flame at the tip of her wand expanded forward in its own shield. A flash of blue fire was a wall around her for a millisecond before sadly since the spell was of course nothing of a dark nature passed right through.
Ivory cowering with eyes closed, noticed none of this and simply pressed against the wall shaking.
Eventually as a few moments passed she noticed an uncomfortable sensation on the sides of her head. Prying open first one eye then the other she realizsed with a sigh that she was alive!
Coming down to sit indian style, the young girl looked around her wearily.
If she was alive...then ... wait what?
What was up with the sound in this room?
Shaking her head, she realized that it sounded as if someone was folding and unfolding her ear and making all the sounds around her come to her in only snatches of words.
Someone nearby by yelling, Im---pe---a" whlie others were pronouncing very oddly and brokenly "Ex------mus."
What on earth did that even mean?!? Why were people talking in tongues?!?!
Beginning to get frustrated and on the verge of tears, she brought her head into her hands only to discover-
"Ahhh!" she gave a small yell as her hands reached up to feel her ears which were jerking this way and that. So much so that they'd been any larger she was sure she'd be in flight.
Was this dying? Did one slowly turn into an elephant in the afterlife?
Mind whirling with confusion, Ivory sat there with her hands clamped over her ears and hair fighting back tears.
Evelyn felt smug at the compliment on her work, slightly losing her concentration, but she shook out of it when she watched her leg locker curse hit Gold.

Evelyn was quick! That girl totally had it in her to become an awesome dueller, one day. Gold gave her a thumbs-up, but it was a really quick one, because she had to save her own skin, here!
Hehe.
Not funny, Laksh. Get a grip.
....
It looked like Evelyn was shouting out random spells, now. Gold brought her shield charm up, to defend herself from the Levicorpus. She couldn't let anyone hit her with THAT! Not ever, it would be too embarrassing. Which was exactly why she was thankful she was still on the ground.... and on the ground, she intended to remain, thank you very much.
Her right arm caught the Furnunculus, and boils began to rise along its length, but she could deal with that later. For now, she slashed her wand through the air, thankful that it was her left, that was her wand arm. "Avis! Geminio! Geminio! Oppugno!"
The little flock of birds multiplied twice, and shot at Evelyn. Gold lowered her wand for a second. "Finite," she said, quietly. Her poor, itchy, painful right arm.

She didn't even see if her spells hit...there were MORE birds coming at her! EEEP!
Taking another step back, she raised her wand again towards the annoying little creatures. "Impe-" But, her feet got caught in the ropes that still surrounded her, making her fall backgrounds. Stupid ropes... "Dangit." she mumbled, sitting back up and pointing her wand at Gold.
"Stupefy!" she finally got out before being attacked by the birds. Swatting her hands at them to make them go away, she couldn't think of anything that would make them go away permanently unless casting a spell one at a time at them. And that would take too long...she needed to buy some time for that.
"Argh! Tarantallegra!" she called out, taking a few seconds to point her wand at Gold, before going back to swatting at the birds. Don't get her face...don't get her face. Aaand just for safe measures..."Protego!"
" glad you are being nice to me" Rex told Kay laughing. "Would not want to be yoru enemy" Rex laughed even harder talking to Kay." Rictumsempra"Rex called out to Kay with his wand. Kay could not stop laughing.

Oops.
Evelyn had fallen. But she was still putting up a fight, and a good one at that! Glad that her own arm, at least, was back to normal, Gold blocked the quick stunner.
She blocked the next spell Evelyn shot at her, too, and was actually quite surprised by this turn of events. She had taken two hits, and she had seriously expected a third.
Oh, well.
"Petrificus Totalus!" She pointed her wand at Evelyn again, this time to direct the Body-Bind Curse at her opponent. She was actually enjoying this duel. Evelyn was something of a challenge.

Really persistent, too.
She was glad on her part that she had put up that shield before hand, since she would have been quick enough now. Deflecting the Body-Bind curse, she stared angrily at the scene in front of her.
Birds!! ARGH! "Impedimenta!" Great. Now she had a flock of birds floating around her head. Well, at least she wasn't being attack by them. Swatting a few of them away from her so she could actually see Gold instead of, well bird, she pointed her wand again and sent the same spell back to her. "Petrificus Totalus!"
OH...MY...*LeGasp!*
Lifting her arm up caused her to see the little cuts on her arm made from the birds. Oh, no they di' int! "Rictusempra!" She said, before making a small flicking motion with the wand towards Gold. Well, she didn't really mean to do that, it was more of a random thing to amuse and surprise herself.
ooc: The 'random spell' is this color changing spell Evelyn made up. She hasn't quite perfected it, since the colors glow and she doesn't know a counter-spell for it. lol

Gold concentrated on her shield-charm once more, the one spell she was able to do without having to say it out loud. Well, she could cast a non-verbal Levicorpus too; but, to be honest, it wasn't really that effective. Sort of useless.
When she tried it non-verbally, that is.
The first two jets of light shot her way, one after the other, bounced off. It was, in fact, the final flick of Evelyn's wand that caught her. Straight in the chest, too. Her eyes widened because - whoa! - the front of her uniform was no longer its usual colour. It was beginning to change hue, turn a bright, very Slytherin green.
What in the name of Merlin's fat, pink cat?!
Even though the spell was pretty harmless - it did nothing, except for that little change of colour - it was enough to distract Gold for a second. She came back to her senses in the nick of time, though. Before Evelyn could take too much advantage of her scattered wits, that is.
"Aguamenti!" She directed her wand a bit to Evelyn's right, because she didn't really mean to spray the younger girl with water, but to distract her. "Stupefy!"

That was such a good color on Gold. It made her look all...Christmas-y what with the red hair and the now green clothes. Now she just needed a star to go on top of her head!!
Throwing a few pieces of rope away from her so she was able to get up and not trip again, she watched as Gold made...seriously...just why? As if she didn't have enough trouble tripping all over these ropes, now she had to worry about slipping in the puddle of water. But why did she aim it next to her-
EEK!
Grabbing one of the birds that was floating in the air, she threw it at the jet of light before rolling quickly onto her stomach, narrowly dodging the jet of light coming towards her, but feeling a little wind of the spell fly over her back. (Work outs were goooood.) Though, that wasn't the worst part. The worst part was that she landed right into the middle of the puddle. Soaking her. To the skin. This...sucked. At least her wand did get wet. "You have got to be kidding me."
Pushing herself up and off the ground, Evelyn moved so she was facing Gold, trying her hardest not to worry about her now wet clothes (and some of her hair) and focus on the dueling. The long...dueling. "Relashio!" she said, pointing slightly to the side of Gold before pointing to the floor in front of her. "Serpensortia!" She didn't really intend to do that spell either but...
Whatever...
Before the snake took her attention away, since it was just sitting there and since her soaked clothes were seriously distracting her, she sent another spell towards the Prefect. "Expelliarmus!"
Eeeeeep!! Nicoletta dodged the spell and in her haste, flicked her wand upward thinking langlock. She felt her wand fly out if her hand and back behind her into a corner of the room. She slid across the floor and retrieved it. Only when she got back, did Nicoletta realize that she had preformed a non verbal spell. I did it! she thought excitedly. Okay now how, did I do it? she tried to repeat the motion with no luck and decided to perform it verbally, she had the muffliato spell up anyway. "Protego! Expelliarmus!" Nicoletta felt something wet and sticky on her knee. She realized that sliding across the floor had ripped her robes and she was bleeding. She pointed her wand at her robes "Reparo!" Well, at least now there was something to soak the blood up.
Nancy exhaled slowly as she watched Nicoletta's impressive stunt. Kiri's decision had been a good one of making her part of the Quidditch team. She certainly knew how to dodge Bludgers. Hopefully she was just as good in directing them at other people. Cough
Just in case Nancy renewed her Shielding Charm once again as she cocked an eyebrow at the girl who was waving her wand without actually saying any incantation...wait...was she trying to perform a non-verbal spell?! Well, she did have her Shielding Charm up so even if the girl managed to - which was highly unlikely - there was no way she was going to get past her shield. Hopefully.
It was still rather hard to understand which incantation Nicoletta was uttering due to the Muffliato Spell. Which reminded her...the moment she felt a small shudder as the spell bounced off her shield Nancy raised her wand, this time performing it verbally. "Finite Incantatem!" Now, that should put an end to the Muffliato effect.
As Nancy turned to smirk at Nicoletta it literally froze on her face. Whoa! Was that blood?! "You okay?" She automatically inquired without getting any nearer, though. Maybe she was just like this Neptune-girl who was just feigning...though, could you feign blood running out of a wound?! Probably not.

At Nancy's question Nicoletta looked down. "Yeah nothin' much, just a scrape." she saw Nancy take down the muffaliato spell. "Muffaliato" she whispered again. Nicoletta cast three spells at once, hoping the first two would bring down her sheild and the last would hit. "Expelliarmus! Confrigo! Petrificus Totalus!" Wait! Confringo?!?!? Where'd that come from?! Nicoletta moaned. This can't be good... she thought to herself. "Protego!" she whispered again. There was really no need to whisper since Nancy couldn't hear her anyway, but she felt safer doing it that way.

It looked like her decoy had worked. Even if it was only a puddle of water, and nothing flashy. Gold gave it a thumbs-up - yes, she gave the little puddle of water a thumbs-up - and then focused her bright, green eyes back on Evelyn.
In the nick of time, too. Because Evelyn had just pointed her wand at ... not at her, but to her side. Why? Wait a second! Was the younger girl trying to use her own strategy against her? Gold paid the little sparks that flew out of Evelyn's wand no attention, trained her eyes on her opponent and, sure enough, the girl conjured a ...
... a serpent!
Arrgghh! Gold loved nature to bits, and wasn't exactly scared of snakes; but to see one conjured for the purpose of an attack against her, was certainly not nice. She would, in fact, have pouted at the evilness of it all - if, of course, the fact that the serpent was now advancing at her, had not detracted her from that thought, at once.
"Impedimenta!," she said, pointing her wand at the serpent. She immediately followed that up with a stunner - that, too, directed at the animal - for good measure.
She had no time to feel sorry for the poor creature. Because Evelyn had just hit a disarming charm at her. Gold somehow managed to dodge it, and shoot the first spell that came into her mind, at her opponent. Who had, she had to say, quite a talent for duelling.
A scrape?! Even though, Nancy was quite sure it was more than just a scrape she simply shrugged. The girl was old enough to decide that for herself. Or so she thought. Well, if this duel was over she would take a closer look and get Cela to look at it too. The Ravenclaw would know if it was just a scrape or something which needed further tending.
Oh, whoa. Nancy sighed as the girl cast the Muffliato spell yet again and was just about to repeat what she had just done when all of a sudden three streams of light came zooming towards her all at once. Even though, she had her Shielding Charm up she wasn't sure if it would hold all three spells. "Impedimenta!" She exclaimed in an attempt to give her more time to think of what to do.
Blankly staring at the three streams of light which were now slowly approaching her Nancy finally gave her wand a small flick and said, "Finite Incantatem!"Phew! That was clo- EEK! One of the streams of light had not - like the others - disappeared but was still approaching her. Jumping out of the way the blonde watched with an incredulous look plastered across her face as the stream of light finally hit a part of the wall...leaving behind a small hole.
Turning around Nancy blinked at Nicoletta a few times in surprise. Had the girl just sent a Blasting Curse her way?! Langlock! She performed the spell non-verbally before renewing her Shielding Charm and sending a Stunning Spell the girl's way. "Are you crazy?!" Not that it could have done a lot of harm...the curse hadn't been that powerful coming from a 12-year-old but still...
Oh Merlin! Not good.
Melanie took a few steps toward Ivory when she started to act scared, and get that glazed over look in her eyes.
She didn't think the spell would effect her that bad. If she had, she probably wouldn't have sent that twitchy ears hex at her, as well. But, it was too late to reverse that now, and so Melanie stood there, a foot or two away from her poor, twitchy, confused first year, opponent watching her with a look of horror on her face. She looked close to tears...
They had to finish the duel, before anything could be done about Ivory's condition and the duel wouldn't end until one of them was stunned. She had to stun her.
Melanie stepped forward hesitantly, hoping anxiously that Ivory wasn't faking it. Watching Tibi hit the floor had appeared to be the most painful part of the duel between him and Cela, but Ivory was already sitting on the floor. It wouldn't be so bad, for her... Surely not. "Stupefy." Melanie muttered half-heartedly, but to no avail. Shaking her wand a little, like one of those battery flashlights you had to shake to turn on, Melanie repeated the spell once more, biting her lip. "Stupefy." She spoke the incantation with a little bit more force, and as a result a beam of red light shot from the tip of her wand.
Keeley smiled, glad that the other girl wasn't feeling guilty. Which is actually a bit ironic, but whatever. "Well, if you really want to, I guess that I could." Really Keeley wanted to just watch from the sidelines, but she didn't want Sarah's grade to be in jepordy.
"Have fun trying to lose, Rex." She giggled.

She knew very well what it was like to lose herself, whether or not anyone would believe it of her now.
"As for us older students? Well winning is a kind of learning too you know? If its an unfair duel then knowing what it feels like to win it and being able to think back on how you did it, its important. Maybe it doesn't feel good but its still important to know what it feels like and to know whether or not you have it in you to be merciless." Her uncle always did say that mercy was a weakness. Cela herself thought it was a strength but it was still something she was able to put to one side at times. Expression musing, Cela went back to glancing around the room to see if anyone needed help. That and thinking about coupons.

She got up, wobbling a lot in the process, but determined to try again. She turned to Sarah, hoping she wouldn't leave Cela left out, and asked, "Want to try again?"
She wouldn't mind trying again? Awwww.Sarah could have hugged her then, for trying again was always a good thing.Getting back up on the horse and all that.Yeah.She didn't though, in case the poor girl thought she was mad.Instead she extended a hand to help her up. "If you think you can carry on without feeling any ill effects, I'm willing," she smiled.
Ooooh Cela was talking.A speech it seemed.Sarah nodded along as her fellow Prefect looked over to her.She knew the Ravenclaw was right, but Sarah just didn't think she was the merciless type. "Yeah, I know what you mean," she smiled, adding a shrug. "I guess that is the message Professor Duskurk is trying to convey to us with this lesson.I'm not sure duelling will ever come naturally to me, though," she sighed. No, probably not.
Holding Keeley's arm as she stood up, Sarah tilted her head with a smile. "I'd love to, but you can go first this time," she winked, taking her wand back out, ready for the next go.
Barrys eyes were closed now. There was nothing else he could do. He was trying to keep the sheild strong. The stunning spell was wearing off now and that was great, soon he would actually do something. He felt little vibrations as the stunning spells hit getting stronger and stronger as his sheild weakended. The spells rebounded and headed back towards herminny but his spell was broken. That was bad. He raised his wand and sent a few different spells towards Herminny. They were verbal because he wasn`t sure if he was back to his full senses yet. He sent the jelly legs, jelly brain and body binding curse towards her. They might suprise her
ooc: I`m sorry, yesterday I had this headache and I couldn`t get of bed
Wow, this guy thinks he might get me with verbal spells when he has already seen how fast I can be against his non-verbal spells. This was just too simple. She just thought protego and shielded herself. she then thought stupefy concentraying on knocking Barry out knowing if he was still out of it this should end it because she put effort into this stupefy spell so she knew a weak protego just was not gonna cut it but a strong protego probally would.

And thennnnn the guilt came. Stupid Conscious.
First there was confusion and befuddlement and then blissful nothing. If Ivory could've sighed she would have, and if anyone was closely watching they would've seen her hair slowly darken to her regular brown once again.
The Stunning spell that had hit her was so delicate that rather then falling forward on her face she merely leaned back stunned into unconsciousness...a stillness that right at that moment her mind needed.
Yes, Evan knew the boy wouldn't even care his hopeless attempt of leaving him wandless. Though he was glad the guy now used verbal spells. Now he could at least know when the spell was coming. "Protego!" he yelled. That shield should bounce the spell back, right? Still, just to be sure, he muttered "Stupefy." with a hope his mutter would not be heard over the noise in the class. Did he wish too much?
Fred was glad this kid atleast knew protego, he did not want this match to end that quickly. He was a little impressed when he heard the kid mutter a spell so he could not hear it. It really did not matter though. he quickly cast a silent protego around himself and whatever the spell was dissolved in the shield. He then said, "pertrificus totalus'" and waved his wand and with concentration that would require a srtong protego to stop.

It didn't get him, did it. Evan didn't have any hoped anyway. It would be legendary though. If only he had luck that suddenly the guy hadn't heard his mutter...
Oh noes. He didn't like that concentration look on the guy's face. It didn't look nice at all. He again said "Protego!" and was reasy to send another spell when--
"HOLY--" He could hardly pretend from falling to his side, for his legs had sticked to each other. He couldn't even question why only part of his body had binded, because he was too busy with trying to regain his balance through handing on walls. It worked--though he had given the guy his life's time to shoot another spell. Hopefully, his shield hadn't worn out. Though luck wasn't on his side today.
He, who had even caught Professor Lawson, was going to lose to a Gryffindork in only a few minutes.

Barry sighed. Couldn`t she just fall? This duel was getting long. He twisted his wand. He was much better now. But he would keep to verbal spells for the rest of the duel. He`d just whisper it so she couldn`t hear. "Protago" The spell hurtled back towards Herminny. He took a few steps forward. Spells were much more effective close up.
First he did an easy spell. Avis. Hopefully the birds would distract her. He followed it up with a dissarming charm
Fred kinda wanted to give the kid a chance so he called out, "You have to concentrate on you're spells no matter how scared you are cause thats what makes thm strong', and with that he concentrated hard on knocking the slytherub kid out and said, "stupefy", and sent the strong spell flying knowing if the kid got the measage he may be able to deflect but if not this match was over.
