Hm.. who should go first? Welll who would make it a longer duel? Becca thought... "Um... doesn't matter to me, you can choose."

"Okay. I'll start then." Nina said, slightly hesitant.

What will she not expect from a first year..." Nina thought.

Settling on a spell she had heard another person use, Nina pointed her wand at Becca and shouted, "Furnunculus!!"

"I'm sorry about that." he said as he helped her stand up.

He then nodded as she said that she wanted to try to defend herself using a Shield Charm...

"Ok, well, here we go." Daniel sighed and muttered, "Everte Statum" aiming at her body.

OOC: This is a spell that sends the opponent flying.

Georgiana smiled at the young girl, and pointed her wand at her face, "Finite Incantatum!" she said, allowing the girl's teeth to return to normal. Georgie then repeated the curse while pointing to the young Ravenclaws arm, the boil's.

Georgiana looked over towards the robes, there wasn't much she could do there. She dug in her pocket and took out a few coins, and held them out towards Allison. "This should be enough for some new robes!" she smiled at the young girl, and glanced around the room, Arya appeared to be done as well, Georgie waved towards her young Hufflepuff friend. Then noticed Rex and Kay dueling, she smiled and flashed them a thumb's up, "Go Rex! Go Kay!" she cheered slightly. How was she supposed to merely pick one!? She situated herself so she could speak to Allison, yet still see Rex and Kay.

Ack. Raiden blocked the first jet of light, but the second managed to catch him in the left shoulder. Bad bad bad! He immediately shot his right arm up over his head; his left ended up bound tightly to his torso.

"Heh." Would Reducto undo that? He wasn't exactly in a situation where he could try it. "Duro."

He shot off a silent petrificus totalus behind it, and another quick stinging hex. He'd... just leave his arm like this until the duel was done.

"You know, the younger students are learning a lot from this, right Sarah?" Celandine looked at the Hufflepuff out the side of her eyes and slowly turned her head to follow. "Its important to know what it feels like to lose, to have that chance to use hindsight and think about what might have worked better." Cela chattered a bit, explaining her point of view. She knew very well what it was like to lose herself, whether or not anyone would believe it of her now.

"As for us older students? Well winning is a kind of learning too you know? If its an unfair duel then knowing what it feels like to win it and being able to think back on how you did it, its important. Maybe it doesn't feel good but its still important to know what it feels like and to know whether or not you have it in you to be merciless." Her uncle always did say that mercy was a weakness. Cela herself thought it was a strength but it was still something she was able to put to one side at times. Expression musing, Cela went back to glancing around the room to see if anyone needed help. That and thinking about coupons.

Keeley smiled and nodded, though she didn't really understand everything the older girl said. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, but she got the basics. She drained the last bits of water from her glass, wishing she knew how to make it dissapear. That would be impressive. But of course, she didn't know how to do that yet. She got up, wobbling a lot in the process, but determined to try again. She turned to Sarah, hoping she wouldn't leave Cela left out, and asked, "Want to try again?"

"Relashio" Patroclus cried as the snaking ropes went for his legs, the spell hit the ropes and left them limp on the floor. Jumping up from his crouched position, the moment his feet hit the ground, Patroclus with a swift wand movement cried "Impedimenta", as the light from his wand shot at Daphne he cried "Levicorpus".
He watched as the two spells flew towards his partner.

Hearing the first spell called, Mina quickly throw up a full body shield. She really didn't want anything on her person to turn to stone.

Seeing another spell bounce off the shield, she looked over at him and giggled at the sight. It was kind of funny. Lowering her wand and the shield, she thought about her next move was to be. In her thoughtlessness, she felt the stringing hex hit her. How was it she didn't hear it cast?

Stumbling a little, she flicked her wand again before falling back.

"Stupefy"

He couldn't help but grin when Mina started giggling. A flick of his wand deflected her spell, but... she'd fallen down again. He frowned worriedly, but cast again just in case.

"Stupefy."

He shot off a silent stupefy just after the verbal one. His fingers on his left hand flexed absently. The ropes were a bit tight, and he was worried that they might start going numb or something soon. It had happened before.

Gold had to grin, at Destiny's remark. "I guess that's what makes them so distracting," she said.

She knew she would totally drop her wand and SQUEAL, if someone sent a bunch of pretty butterflies at her. Well, maybe she wouldn't, but she would SO want to! Hehe.

"That, too," Gold nodded again. She scanned the room with bright, green eyes as she spoke, and saw that one or two people had started another duel. That didn't actually sound like a bad idea, right now. Mostly because Gold was beginning to calm down, and see that no one was going to hate her for picking an opponent who was younger.

Of course, it was totally unfair, but most of the people here seemed to understand. What exactly, Gold did not know. She was confusing herself with her own thoughts, in fact.

"Anybody still want a partner?" she asked, frowning a bit. I promise not to eat chu.

Rubbing her arm where the stringing hex hit her, Mina didn't even notice the stunner coming toward her. Having no time to throw up a shield, she felt it hit her right now and she fall over completely.

Being that she was already on the ground, she hardly made a noise as her head made contact.

Sidney isn't ready for Daniel's spell. She points her wand and yells, Protego!" Sidney feels Daniel's spell hit her shield! I did it! I created a shield. She continues to try and hold her shield up, but her consentration fails her. Daniel's Everte Satum spell hits her. She sails across the room beaming. "I did it Daniel. I did it!" Sidney is so proud of herself she could bust.

Guh. He'd knocked her out. Raiden didn't know if he should feel good about that or extremely bad.

"Mina..." At least the kid hadn't been standing. She hadn't cracked her head then, right? Kneeling next to her, he tapped her with his wand and mumbled, "Reenervate."

...she was alright, right? Right? He bit his bottom lip worriedly. He'd knocked her out on top of catching her with a few stinging hexes... this was not a good class for him.

Daniel smiled at Sidney. He almost chuckled when, even though she is flying across the room, she seems to be happy.

"Well, good job. But I reckon you should be concentrating hard the next time." he said as he approach her.

"Are you alright?" he added as he came near her.

Sighing, since it seemed as if Rex had better things to do than duel her, which she was still in disbelief about, she turned around and noticed Destiny was done with hers. Yup, she had been glancing over now and then to see how her friend was doing...

Smiling, and holding back any laugh or smirk, she walked over and crossed her arms. "Nice duel there." she said, looking over to the prefect she dueled with before turning back to her friend. "I tried to get Rex to duel me, but he's too busy with his girlfriend." Pfft...

Hearing the girl that Destiny just dueled with ask if anyone needed a partner, Evelyn raised a brow and thought about it. 'Hmmm...dueling the girl that just beat Destiny. That would be fun...ish.'

Mina slowly opened her eyes and squinted a little. Why did it seem so bright to her at the moment. Suddenly, her eyes opened again and glanced around. As they landed on Raiden, she remembered that she must have be hit with something.

Slowly, sitting up she gave a weak smile. "Well, wasn't that fun?" she laughed weakly, giving her head quick rub. It didn't hurt that much, so that was a good sign, right? Checking the rest of herself, she sighed in relief. She looked okay, nothing appear to be broken or anything.

Looking back up at him, she started to feel for her wand beside her. Finding it, she placed it in her lap. "So how did I do?"

Sitting up was good. It meant that even if she had hit her head, she hadn't done so that hard, right? And a little smile and laughing, all good signs. Maybe stinging hexes didn't hurt as much as he'd worried they would.

"You're alright? You don't need the hospital or anything, do you?" He shifted on the spot, trying to get all his weight off his knee... and fell over. For a moment, he was shocked, and then he snorted rather loudly and laughed. "Balance is not my forté today, is it..."

How had she done? Rather bemused, Raiden used his right arm to try and push himself back up. What spell was for cutting these off?

"I think you did rather well," he said, indicating the ropes digging into his left arm and torso. "You landed this, and there was a tripping jinx, I think? With a bit more practising, you'd probably beat me."

Why could he not remember the spell for these?

"You got these on me rather tight. My arm's going numb." The spell finally popped into his head, and Raiden prodded the rope coil by coil, snapping each starting from his shoulder and working down. It was really lucky that he'd gotten his wand arm out of the way... otherwise he'd have lost.

"Let's do it again in the future, ne?" he said, smiling as he tugged at the remaining cords. There were red marks all down his arm, like stripes.

This was ... Evelyn, right? Gold was not sure what the name was, but she knew this girl, too. Mostly because she was always with Destiny. You couldn't know one, without knowing the other.

Sort of natural.

"Thanks," Gold said, cheerfully. "Though it wasn't exactly fair." Were duels supposed to be fair? Gold thought they were. In a way. "But I learned a bit from it." Like how important it was to stay calm... and, of course, how to use pretty butterflies to one's awesome advantage.

"I'm actually looking for a new partner."

She smiled at Evelyn, then looked around the room again. There had to be someone who wanted a partner!

"Well done, Mina!" Celandine had been watching of course, but by the time she'd turned her attention to Mina at the knock out point, Raiden had already rennervated her, as he should. Did she need the hospital wing? Cela didn't think so from looking, but you never knew. "I'd happily help you work on your technique and stuff some time." She offered the younger 'claw.

Her eyes turned to Raiden and an expression of concern flickered over her face as she eyed his arm. Not that she thought he'd let her help him or anything.

Le Sigh.

Turning back to the...she was a prefect right? Yea, the little pin on her robes told her so. Okay, good and bad thing.

Not a fair duel? So, maybe she could see how it wouldn't be fair. Fifth year?, against a second year. A second year who probably knows more cleaning charms than this room combined. Aw, she loved her friend.

Aaand the prefect, who's name she had yet to know, was looking for a new partner! Goodie..."Well, how 'bout...me?" she asked, raising her hands up as if offering. "I have yet to duel someone."

Gold continued to scan the classroom. Prefect Kururugi had just knocked out a 'claw and ... and then Evelyn spoke, and it looked like Gold's search had finally come to an end.

Hoorah!

"That would be wonderful!" Gold nodded. "By the way ... you're Evelyn, right?" Best to be sure. ANDDD she got to duel with both Super!Slytherin buddies. How fun was that? Not to mention, Destiny was such a dear, so maybe Evelyn was, too? Oh well, she would decide that later. For now, she had an awesome new partner.

She moved away a little, into the more open space, and then bowed a bit to start things.

Destiny moved out of the way when Evelyn and Gold decided to duel. This was so exciting! She would have jumped up and down, but she was still not used to her leg being un-jellyfied. Yep, she needed to remember how to walk correctly.

She stood in the back, holding out her wand just in case she needed a fast shield charm from stray spells flying around. She didn't need to have a jelly head. That would be no good.

Destiny was secretly rooting for Evelyn, but she wouldn't tell her almost favorite Prefect that.

No way.

"Yes, I'm Evelyn. I'm sorry though, I do not know you're name." she said, a small guilty expression on her face. Though, was she guilty?...Nah! But it was manners to be nice to someone and to know their name in case they run into each other again, whether on friendly or enemy terms. Unless the girl just wanted to be called 'Prefect' for the rest of the time she and Evelyn were students here.

Taking a few steps away from everyone else as well, she watched the Prefect bow and she had to hold back a little laugh. Bowing...to her. So funny to see. Making a little bow back, Evelyn held up her wand, all the spells she learned and taught herself running through her mind, at the same time trying to keep the memory of her duel with Josh last year out of her thoughts. Not a good time for that...

Taking a deep breathe, she readied herself for the duel. She would let the Prefect make the first move.

Taking a few breaths, she regained her bearings and nodded slightly. She felt fine, at least. "Nope, I think I'm good." No massive headache or anything. Her arm strung a little, but that wasn't all that bad.

Seeing him fall over, she let out a laugh. Quickly covering her mouth, she started to giggle at the sound of his snort. She have a tendency to snort sometimes too and it was funny to see someone else do the same thing. "Balance is not a friend of mine some days as well."

Be it the trust, she was actually a bit clumsy at times. Not as graceful as she wanted but she would possibly grow out of the clumsiness.

Looking back over at him, she tilted her head. She did manage to land some of them, so that was a plus. She would definitely have to add practising her hexes and jinxes to her list of things to do. The list was getting a bit long, but at least she would be keeping herself busy.

"You know I don't think I've ever landed that on anyone before, I mean the chair last year doesn't really count." she laughed as she watched him remove the ropes. "Sure, maybe after I get some practise in we can do this again."

Slowly, she got back up and dusted herself off completely, jumping from foot to foot to see if she felt normal. Sure it might look funny, but she wanted to make sure she was truly okay. Sudden movements didn't bother her, so she was good to go.
