Standing along the edge of the Forbidden Forest, Professor Lawson was feeling both anxious and excited for her last lesson of the term. After her last class, she was understandably weary about bringing her students back into the woods. Thankfully, Marcus would be joining them soon.

Smiling broadly at the glorious weather the day had to offer, Iliana leaned against a tree and waited for the students to arrive.

Spotting Destiny, Evelyn patted the horse's back one last time before making her way over to her friend who was...sulking.

"Hey." she said, about to sit down next to her but spotting a spider there instead. "Hey umm..."

Yeaaa....could she please kill the spider?! It was RIGHT THERE! "You know...there's a creepy eight legged demon right there right?" SQUISH IT! BURN IT! "You going to move?"

Heehee.

Destiny found a spider. He was a cute little guy too. Maybe it was a girl. But whatever, it was still cute.

She placed her hand palm up on the grass and was about to let the spider climb on her when she heard Evelyn speak. 'Hey!' she said with a smile. She was not sulking anymore, for now she had a spider!

Her smile disappeared when she mentioned a creepy eight legged demon and moving. Scooping the spider in her hand, since it was not fast enough on it's own, Destiny jumped off the ground and spun around looking for this "demon", 'Oh MERLIN! WHERE IS IT!?' She did not want to be attacked by a demon! Especially one with eight legs. She needed to hiiiiide!

Running behind Evelyn, Destiny peeked her head over Evelyn's shoulder, 'Is it invisible like those thestral?' There could be a colony of them, just waiting to attack her and her spider..

But it still felt amazing, because she was in the air, and she actually had DyDy with her.

"Loosen up," she told Dylan quietly. She was sure he was scared, or something. Even though he shouldn't be -- he was with her, really! "Close your eyes and feel the wind. Flying is really awesome, DyDy." She had a feeling that wouldn't convince him, though.

Well, she could hope.

Ok they were off the ground. Dylan's eyes were squeezed tightly shut, and his head rested against Gold's back. He didn't want to see. He held her close to him, his grip tightening. He didn't want to squeeze her too hard, because that would hurt her.

"My eyes are closed," he whimpered, into her back. "I'm loose. Very loose," he murmured, his grip tightening slightly.

He nodded into her back, "Yeah go for it." He had no idea what the spider looked like. He did know that she smelt good though. MMM so good.

Destiny picked it up. She picked up the EIGHT LEGGED DEMON! AHHH!

Her eyes widened as Destiny ran and hid behind her, making her gaps and stumbled before. "It's on you! Get away from me! It's going to eat me!" she yelled, turning around to see where Destiny and the spider was before accidentally tripping and falling backwards.

Well, ow. Not only did she hurt everywhere on her body, she probably now had a good ol' bruise on her tailbone. Great. Standing up, she stumbled backwards again, trying to get away from Destiny.

"Stay away from me!" She really needed to teach Destiny that one, spiders were horrible pets, and two, to keep them away from her!

It looked like her plan to get Dylan into the spirit of flying was... a TOTAL fail. It could not have been clearer that he was not interested, not one bit, in this... and that wasn't nice.

"DyDy..." It was hard to concentrate when he kept whimpering into her back. It made her feel all ticklish, teehee. "It's not so bad, it really isn't, you know." She had never had a fear of heights, and could not understand why he did not like flight.

She didn't know why this seemed so scary. She wasn't scared like this when she was flying on a broom. Then again she could see the broom....and the brooms others were flying on too.

Taking a deep breath she said, "Okay, ready to move when you are." *hug Carter a little tighter*

Carter smiled reassuringly as Marie climbed on.

"That wasn't so bad, was it?" he asked as she sat down behind him.

"Ready?" he asked Marie. He stroked the thestal's neck. Now how was he supposed to start this thing?

Gold was worried, now. Dylan sounded like he was going to throw up, or something. That was bad. Really bad. "Keep your eyes shut," she said, and then she had forgotten how good it was to be up in the air, how nice the wind felt when it whipped her red hair everywhere, forgotten everything as she directed the Thestral to the ground.

They came to a smooth halt, and Gold quickly slid off the Thestral, then helped Dylan down. "I'm sorry," she said quietly, biting on her lower lip. "I didn't realize you hate heights that much. I just thought it was a random sort of fear, and would go away."

Wonderful healer, she was going to make... and yes, she was being all sarcastic, here.

Dylan attempted slow, deep breaths. All he could smell was Gold. And she smelt good. It didn't take the edge off his sickness, but it made him feel better, sort of. "My eyes are closed," he whimpered. This was not turning out to be a good lesson. Oh he hoped he got points for this.

Dylan slid off the horse, and collapsed to his knees on the dirt. He rested his head on the floor, with his eyes closed, taking deep breaths. "It's ok Gold. You weren't to know." Nope. Noone was. Not even himself. "Gold, honey, I'll be fine soon. You go ride the thestral, before the class ends. I'll be fine just here." If he didn't get trampled.

Candy could not seeeeee the thestrals!

And everybody was riding them and being all HAPPY and stuff. Except that kid over there who looked like he was sick. HEY WAIIITTT! Wasn't that kid Gold liked to be with?

Gold LIKED that kidd!!!

Candy stood on her tippy-toes to LOOK at the kid. He looked UNHAPPY and that made her feel sad. But she also wanted to ride a thestral and she couldn't even see one. NOT nice!!!

"Golddddd!" she tippy-toed over to the prefect. "Can you help me climb a THESTRAL?!"

Pleaseeeee?!!

Destiny had no idea, since they were invisible demons. How come Evelyn can see everything that was invisible and Destiny couldn't see anything!? That was not fair, and if she wasn't being attacked, she would have sulked over that too.

What!!!??? The demon was on her! 'Evelyn! GET IT OFF OF ME!' she yelled, cupping the spider in her hands. She would protect this little guy, she wouldn't let a demon eat him. Destiny started jumping up and down trying to shake whatever demon was on her off, not even noticing that Evelyn had fallen backwards.

'Stay away? But..you have to help meeeee get it off!' It wasn't Destiny's fault she had a demon on her. Merlin, she was going to die and no one was HELPING her!

The jumping didn't seem to help either, so, still protecting the spider, Destiny did the only thing left to do..

Stop. Drop. And roll.

Gold felt better when she knew exactly what was wrong with the other person. Healer instinct, or something of that sort. "Close your eyes, and sit still," she said gently, placing a hand on his shoulder. Would that little act make things better? She had no idea.

But she did know that sitting still, closing one's eyes, stuff of that sort could help in a situation like this. Single episode of vertigo and stuff, right? Yeah, rest and closed eyes would definitely help.

Soon the slow trot had sped up a bit to a medium gallop. If that was what you could call it. It was slightly more jerky than a horse gallop because of the wings... but it was about the same speed.

Dylan smiled as she rested a hand on his back. That felt good. If only he could curl up on the ground with her. That would make him feel 50 times better. But it was school, and that would be inappropriate. "You are still wonderful Gold. Even if you try to scare something into me. I still love you," he smiled, into the grass. His eyes weren't as forcefully closed, as they were on the thestral. They were just lightly shut.

Slowly he could feel something lifting. He wasn't sure what though.

But not now! Moving around Destiny, since she was doing some weird dance thing on the ground or something, the spider was obviously taking over the poor Slytherin's mind, Evelyn finally made it to the point where she could run back over to where her thestral was.

Jumping up onto the thestral, she whispered in it's ear to run to the other side of the paddock, and then she was riding again! Too bad the Professors wouldn't let them go more than ten feet in the air. That was nearly as high enough. The eight legged spider demon could surely jump that high.

Finally on the other side, she sat there on the thestral as they stopped, and STARED at Destiny. No way was she getting anywhere close to Evelyn with that little evil creature.

Jumping up onto the thestral, she whispered in it's ear to run to the other side of the paddock, and then she was riding again! Too bad the Professors wouldn't let them go more than ten feet in the air. That was nearly as high enough. The eight legged spider demon could surely jump that high.

Finally on the other side, she sat there on the thestral as they stopped, and STARED at Destiny. No way was she getting anywhere close to Evelyn with that little evil creature.

Hey!

Where was Evelyn going!?

She was leaving her there to face the demons alone!

Destiny came to a halt on her stomach and looked to see where Evelyn was running too. For a moment there, she forgot they were actually in a class, and everyone probably saw her rolling on the ground. How embarrassing..

She would like to see how they would deal with an eight legged demon attack. No one would have been as calm as Destiny, for they would all freak out and run away. She uncupped her hands to see how the little spider was doing, and it wasn't there!

Oh nooo!

The demon ate it!

Why cruel world!? The spider was innocent! Sure the thing probably ate a gazillion bugs, but it didn't have to die such a horrid death. Sitting up straight now, Destiny yelled over to Evelyn, 'I think the demon is gone! It ate my spider!' *sniffle pout*

She had no idea the spider was halfway to the Forbidden Forest already..

Carter laughed a bit. Yes... maybe that's what all the padding was for?

"Maybe flying could be better?" he half-suggested half-asked. Flying would be more fun. At least he thought it would be. Who knows.

Gold raised an eyebrow. "I did not try to scare anything into you!" Okay, time to take a deep breath. She did not want to argue with him, right now. She was just really happy he looked better.

"You fine, now?" she asked, gently. She wanted to be in the air again, but she also did not want to leave him, alone... and if it came to picking one of those two options, she would choose being with him. Not just now, but every, single time. Definitely.

"Flying, that could work. Let's give it a try. Anything has to be better than all this bouncing." Plus it would give her a reason to hold on tighter. She put her arms all the way around him and laced her fingers together. Yes, now she felt safe.
