Well. Just because they weren't going to play the game that sounded like a dessert, didn't mean Destiny was getting on that horse. She could pretend to be allergic to thestral hair. Yeah that sounded good. Wait. Do they even have hair? Destiny would have to ask someone that can see them. Oh ho! Evelyn can see them!! Oh no..Evelyn can see them..that meant..she wouldn't think of the reason her friend could see them. She wouldn't listen to the story, even though Evelyn wasn't even telling it.. Covering her ears at the non-existent story being told, Destiny tip-toed over to Evelyn, 'Do thestrals have hair?' It is an important question. |
Oh whoa, she almost forgot that Destiny was there. Almost though...she just wasn't expecting the Slytherin to come up next to her. Evelyn thought she was with Marie or something. Did thestrals have hair? Raising a brow at the question, she looked at the thestral that Destiny was standing next to, debating whether or not it had hair. Yes. Yes they did. "Yea, I guess they do. Remember last year for our first Care of Magical Creatures and Herbology combined class? We had to do that scavenger hunt and thestral hairs were on the list. Wait, were you even at that class? I don't even remember." Yea, she could remember something like the scavenger hunt and what was on the list, but she couldn't remember the Herbology Professor's name. Pfft. Something was seriously wrong with her mind or something. Why in Merlin's name was Destiny holding her ears like that? Could she even hear what Evelyn was saying? Or did she have to act it out for her... Because she was not going to do that. |

That sounded like a heap of fun! Polo had, too. Sounded fun, that is. But this was good as well, which meant the change in plan was not too bad. Gold was sure she would have a nice time. She half-smiled when Professor Lawson got up from the box he had been sitting on. Now for a helmet! She stepped up to it, rummaged a bit, and came up with a helmet that looked like it would fit her. "Hii 'Elmet," she beamed at it. "I'm going to call you Kitty Cat. Is that okay with you?" They helmet neither glared at her, nor protested, so Gold decided that meant it was happy. Once it was on her head, she settled her gaze on a thestral, then raised a hand. "Professor, can we climb them, now?" Best to be sure! |

Dylan was excited about playing polo. You didn't have to fly to play Polo. He only had to ride. And he was good at that. But when Lawson suggested an obstacle course. He couldn't do that. Dylan didn't fly. "Um Sir. I'm gonna sit this one out." Well he couldn't see the darn horses anyway. |

Gold turned round, and blinked. Could DyDy not see the Thestrals? Maybe that was good, very good. There were reasons she could see the creatures, and she could not say she was happy they were there... and yet she would never want time to come back. Never want anything to change, because she had learned that you could live with the memories. "Dylan?" She gave him half a smile. "You can ride with me, if you can't see one." He could, if he wanted to give this a try. If he did not... well, then he did not have to, of course. ... Yeah. |

Arya leaned in closer to her thestral while stroking its head. "I'll be right back, don't move or I won't be able to find you." With her foot she made a small hole in the ground so she wouldn't loose the winged horse and ran over to the box of helments. As she shuffled through the box, she frowned slightly. "Do we have to ride with someone else? Can't we ride alone if we want to? I'm not scared of falling." The last thing she wanted to do was ride with another student or anyone for that matter. She didn't like riding with a partner, took most of the fun away. |

SQUEAL! They were going to ride the invisible creatures and go on an obstacle course thingy! HOW FUN! Miranda grinned, hopping slightly on the spot. She had the urge to clap, but instead clasped her hands together infront of her chest. Seeing the Professor stand up, she grabbed Sarah's hand and Wesley's, and if she could Oliver's too (but she looked at him and nodded towards the box) and rushed over to get the helmets and paddings. Oh boy oh boy oh boy! She put her helmet on and offered to help Wesley with hers. Then she turned towards the Professor with a grin. READYYY! Tehe. |
Iliana stood against the paddock fence by Masterson, careful not to interfere while Marcus taught. Realizing that it was her fault his mind was not on his lesson, Ili felt a pang of guilt (followed directly by another interesting pain in her side). Conscious of the way Marcus and Constantine had been watching her, she made no reaction but instead, walked forward to offer her assistance. Quote:

And then Miranda was pulling her forward, and Wesley thought they were going to mount the horses then and there, but they weren't. They were only putting on the riding gear. Safety First! Nervously giggling, she selected a smaller sized helmet and plopped it on her head, which was still hooded. Fingers fumbling with the clasp, Wesley gladly accepted Miranda's offer, holding out the ties for the older girl to clip. "M-miranda? S-sarah? Oliver?" the 13-year-old whispered, hoarse, "D-do y-you think I-I c-could m-maybe, p-perh-haps, p-please ride w-with one of y-you?" |

Letting her hair loose she looked up to Lady Lawson then back to where she assumed her invisible friend to be. Through all her excitement she hadn't thought about how she was going to get on, after all she couldn't see how big the creature was. Beaming she nodded to Laday Lawson. "Yes please!" Though she would prefer to ride without it, she placed the helmet on her head. Arya wouldv'e asked to ride without but she figured she was already pushing it by wanting to ride and fly alone. |

"Um I don't really want to fly. I was ok, when we were just playing Polo. But this is up in the air." Ok yeah he was scared. But he had Gold to look after him right? |

They could flyyyyyy the thest- aaand that just killed it. Only 10 feet? That was it? Ugh, that was like what they did in flying class when people didn't know how to fly and they only went 10 feet off the ground. There was no excitement if they were only that high. But whatever. At least they could be in the air. Maybe she could just fly the whole lesson instead of racing. That sounded better. Smiling again, she turned to the SHE thestral, finding that out thanks to the Professor, and rubbed her face and back gently. "Hey Destiny, do you want to ride on this one with me?" Since the Slytherin asked if the creatures had any hair, Evelyn assumed that Destiny couldn't see them. But it would still be fun to have a friend with her instead of being by herself. And when she meant friend, she meant someone who didn't annoy the heck out of her and there were only a few people who didn't. Oh wait...unless Josh couldn't see them either. Than he could ride with her too. But, the thing couldn't hold 3 people could it!? Ugh. Well, okay. Either Josh or Destiny...Glancing at Josh with wide eyes, she sighed before looking back to Destiny. This was a hard decision. |

Ivory gasped in surprise as she felt something against the palm of her hand. Turning she saw there was only a large empty space. Reaching out her hands with wiggly fingers she made little shushing sounds and quiet reassuring murmurs as the magnificent invisible animal let her touch it. Excited now she reached for a helmet and plopped it down on her head, it was a bit large and she looked a bit comical but it got the job done if she flew, (which she secretly hoped she'd be able to do) and fell (which she hoped she wouldn't) then she'd be protected. Well her head at least...and there was always the cushioning charm. Raising her hand excitedly, since she didn't want to leave the spot she was in for fear of the thestral going away, she bounced in place a bit. "Please Lady Lawson...Please may I ride alone too?" Her little face was one of hope and childlike excitement. |
Carter Marie was still hiding behind Carter hoping the professor wouldn't see her. She really didn't want to have to ride on those things. It would just be too weird doing that. Yes, she was happy just hiding. Oh Merlin! What was Professor Man Lawson thinking? They all had to ride on them, even if they couldn't see them. Well how was that going to work? Oh, they could ride with someone that could see them. Well maybe Carter would let her ride with him. "Umm Carter, since it looks like I'm not going to be able to get out of this do you care if I ride with you?" Maybe he would say no, then she could possibly still get out of it.......maybe. |

He'd actually never played polo. It was football and that was it for him growing up. Was it dangerous enough that they'd need all that padding? |
Quote:
"So do you think we still have to wear all that padding? I mean the professor did say he was putting a cushioning charm on the ground." Then again what good would a cushion do if you got stepped on or kicked by a thestral? Even one you couldn't see. |

He turned to his thestral friend. He stroked it again. So how exactly were they supposed to ride them? Surely those wings would get in the way wherever they sat. Regardless of that, he was excited. |
Evelyn :D Destiny had no idea what Evelyn was talking about. Her voice was all muffled, and then she realized why; she still had her hands covering her ears. Taking them off and holding them to her sides, she caught the last few words of what her friend said. Asking if she was in some class.. Not knowing which class it was, she nodded slowly, 'Yeah, I was there..' Hopefully Evelyn wouldn't catch on that Destiny had no idea where she was talking about.. Oh well. Destiny then heard Evelyn's next question. Ride the invisible horse!? She snorted a big fat 'no' in her head. 'How am I supposed to hold on? Do they have hair or something?' Didn't she just ask that question? |
Quote:
"Wait, Professor Lawson only said we have to wear the helmets now, he didn't say anything about the rest of the padding." She went over to the box and grabbed two helmets out. Once back at Carter's side she handed him one. "Here you go, I believe this helmet is calling you," she said with a little smile. She looked over to where she thought the thestral was standing but wasn't sure if it was still there. How in the workd was she supposed to getg on something she couldn't see? |
Quote:
How was Evelyn supposed to hold on!? Ehhh... "Umm...I guess, you could sit in front and hold onto her neck." she said, staring at the thestral in front of them. "And I can sit behind you and...hold onto your shoulders or something." Or Evelyn could just...not touch Destiny at all. It's not like they were going to go very high in the air. Ten feet off the ground was barely anything. She wouldn't get hurt if she fell off, which was highly unlikely that she would. But glancing at Josh, her expression fell just barely and she turned back to Destiny. "But if you don't want to, that's okay." |
Quote:
Raising his hand he asked Mrs. Lawson, "Do thestrals need a running start to take off? If so how many metres?" Patroclus was buzzing, this was the best way the lesson could have gone. |

That looked funny. Destiny watched Evelyn pat the invisible horse and could not help but laugh. It was like she was a mime trying to escape an invisible box..only it wasn't like that at all.. Ooo, but her friend had a good idea. Hopefully Destiny wouldn't wind up choking the poor creature.. Destiny was about to agree to the first idea when she caught the look she had given Josh. Even though it was just a little look, she was sure she would rather fly or ride with him. 'Or yeah..I don't have to ride with you..' she said slumping her shoulders a bit. Woe is Destiny.. Woeeeee! Looking around, she saw people paired up already, and she was alllll alone! Until she saw others all alone as well, and they were..NO! they were going to ride the invisible horse by themselves? That seemed dangerous, and they were going to look like fooooools. But Destiny was going to look like a fool for just standing on the ground while the others all rode horsies. 'Professor Lawson!' Whichever one would answer first, 'Can I ride by myself tooooo?' She just had to find one. |
