Constantine watched in amusement as a little Thestral nibbled on the raw meat from his hand. Pretty soon, the creature was done and walking away from Neo in boredom. How cute. Noticing that Iliana was done her part of the class, he walked over to where she was standing and stood beside her. "How are you feeling," he whispered to her. |

She was giving him the look. Marcus walked over to her and took her face in his hands. "Iliana, please tell me it's not time already?" It couldn't be, the baby wasn't due for another month yet. He wasn't ready for this. Still looking at his wife in concern, Marcus belatedly realised that there were a heap of students standing behind him waiting for his instructions. Crap! He looked over his shoulder and opened his mouth but his mind was a complete blank. It wasn't until he heard Sidney's voice that he finally spoke. "So long as your gentle Sidney, then yes you can touch their face." He turned back to Iliana and his eyes were wide. "Breathe...just um...breathe." That was the right thing to say wasn't it? Okay, he could do this. He could. Yep. he was gonna be just fine. First things first the lesson. "Right we're all going to head back out to the paddock near Mrs Lawson's hut. For those of you who can see the thestrals, I would very much appreciate it if you can get them to the paddock." He took the bag from Iliana and slung it over his shoulder and then took her by the hand and began to walk slowly back up the path. |

The Thestral continued to eat the raw meat Gold held; held flat - once more - in both hands. It sort of nuzzled her hand, not in affection, she was sure, but to get some more of the food. She stroked it again - gently, quietly, and in silence, the very way they appreciated it - and, half a minute later, she had stopped, and the Thestral was busy eating, again. She watched it do that, wondered how easy it was to lure such a creature by something as simple as uncooked food -- and then she was finally jerked out of her thoughts by Professor Lawson's voice. Oh. Time for Professor Lawson non-female to take over. ... and then they were being told they had to head to the paddock, and Gold took a step away from the spot where she stood. The Thestral took a step forward - lured, of course, by the raw meat and its strong smell. She led it away, away from the forest and towards the paddock. That was, after all, what Professor Lawson - the male one, that is - wanted those who could see the Thestrals to do, right? ... Right? |
Miranda opened her eyes at the sound of Mrs. Lawsons voice that Mister Lawson was now going to start the next part of the class. The Muggle Studies one. Smiling at Sarah, Wesley and Oliver, she waited for further instructions, but suddenly it seemed like Mr Lawson was sort of...freaking out? Uh oh. What was going on!? Time? Time for WHAT? Why was he acting all weird? Pffft. Boys. OH, heh, they were going back up to the miss' hut. Allrighty. With that, Miranda walked behind all of the Professors and wondered what Muggle thing they would be learning with the Thestrals. Because they weren't that Muggle-ish, right? It would be interesting though. |

He continued stroking the one he fed. "Come on... we're taking you to the paddock." he said in a gentle talking-to-an-animal voice. |

Oh they were leaving....okay, so she would just follow along and hope she didn't bump into whatever wasn't there. |

He then gave it a gentle little guiding push toward the edge of the forest. "Come on boy...? err... girl? Little Thestral." he said urging it forward. It began moving after him. |
Gold was glad the piece of meat was a good, quite considerable size. Because that meant she still had some to lure the Thestral with. Otherwise, she would not have been able to. Well, she could have had, but... that could possibly require her to stroke it, and maybe climb on to its back and tell it to head to the paddock. Not that that was such a bad idea, you know. Was it? She continued to step back, away from the forest and towards the paddock and, pulled by the meat, the Thestral followed. Her eyes were still trained on it, but her mind was somewhere else. Far, far away. |
Raising a brow at Lawsguini, she turned her head to look at the remaining thestrals before sighing. They were going back out of the forest and they had to bring the thestrals. Really, why couldn't the professors round up the thestrals and bring them there themselves without actually making the entire class go in here with the highly possible chance of becoming hurt? Adults were weeiiirrd... Moving slowly forward, her arms crossed and a blank expression, she moved towards the thestral that she had given the raw piece of meat to before stopping. She didn't want to scare the horse off, but he...or she...seemed to remember her offering to it. Smiling just the slightest, Evelyn rubbed it's head and neck slightly before guiding it a little towards the rest of the moving class and out of the forest, and finally towards the paddock place the Professor said to go. Pfft. Muggle Studies. Why she was still taking the class, Evelyn had no clue. Her parents were already angry she took it in the first place, so why keep it up? She...Oh Merlin, she wasn't actually enjoying the class was she? Naah. That couldn't be the case. Hopefully it wasn't... |

She looked back at Carter and smiled, "Wow, I really didn't think there was anything there," she said as she continued to stroke the.....whatever it was. It did feel strange touching something that she couldn't see, yet other students could see it. She kept her hand on it as they walked torawds the paddock. At least if she was touching it she wouldn't have to worry about it stepping on her......Right? |
Sidney smiles at Professor Lawson. "Thank you sir. I think I'll wait until there in the paddock." Sidney notices Professor Lawson's concern for his wife. "Professor Mrs. Lawson, would you mind if I walk with you. I think Professor Lawson would like you to have some company." Sidney recognizes the look. Her father had it everytime her mother moved the last two monthes she was carrying Thomas. "Don't worry professor. My dad had that look evertime my mother moved the last two months she carried my brother, Thomas. Mom had all of us early except Harry. She carried him an extra month." |
Right. Destiny was so not paying attention to the students feeding the meat to the thestrals. She couldn't see them, and therefore they were not real. She would have been able to see them if she packed her special thestral goggles though. She must have left them on the table..crud. Oh well. Shrugging to herself, Destiny followed Lawson and Lawson out of the forest. Lawson and Lawson.. They sounded like a law firm! Destiny seen those commercial thingamabobs on the muggle box and boy did she loathe them! Always interrupting her muggle show.. Pfffft. Maybe she would find a spider on the way out.. |

Speaking in a low voice he said "Well my new friend its time for a walk, We are off to the paddock!"Turning and taking a step, Patroclus looked over to see if his Thestral was following, and to his great amusement, he was. |
Quote:
"So how is it? Not being able to see them?" he asked. |
Quote:
"It's kinda strange, I mean here is this creature you can see but I can't. It's almost like I am blind." Okay well not blind but still, it was strange. "So what's it like being able to see them?" She knew that he had to have witnessed death to be able to see them so did that mean when he looked at them he thought about death? |
Hanging wayyyyyyyyy back so that he couldn't see the Thestrals, Jake tried to breathe calmly. Any creature. He could deal with any creature, except these. He actually had an acute fear of them. "We dddon't huhh-have to ggget nnnear them... dddo we?" he asked hesitantly, and he looked to the side to see Mr. Lawson fussing over Mrs. Lawson about... the baby. The boy stared with an expression which was pretty unreadable, and then scowled as he looked away. He hated babies. His real home had two more babies, it had happened on May 19th. He was glad he was gone. Well... kind of. Babies. Stole all the attention. If his new mother ever got pregnant, Jake would totally run away. In all this, he totally forgot about the Thestrals, and he stood beside Tibi as the rest moved away. |

They had dragonish head...okay White eyes...okay Wings...okay They were black...okay And so on...okay But what was the point? Josh thought he got nothing from this class except the said description of the said-to-be-existing creature and the fact that a meat could fly and vanish by itself. So, Thestral ate it. Funny.. But Rose was amoung the people who claimed to see them, was not she? So, they existed but he still could not get anything because he had not seen anything at all except vanishing-in-the-air meats. He wanted meat too. Should he be an invisible ponny to get one? All right. Not funny. While they were heading back out the forest, he spotted the Slytherin girl on the way and caught up with her. ''Hey, Rose!'' he spoke ignoring the Male and Female Lawson ''Do you have any idea how Thestrals could be related to Muggle Studies?'' Well, maybe they were not related but that was a question to start a conversation, was not it? He he |
Quote:
"Hey Josh." she said with a small smile appearing on her lips. He had a good point, she realized, and she had no clue. Muggle studies and thestrals. "Who knows." Evelyn mumbled, slightly pressing on the side of the thestral so it would stay on course. "Professor Lawsguini is weird, and so it Muggle studies...so obviously, they are going to be related in a weird way." And would probably make no sense. |
Catch up :P Sarah gave Miranda and Wesley a nervous smile as they all stood in the middle of the forest waiting for something to happen. She was still curious as to what good 'non-see-ers' would be to this lesson, but as Professor Mr Lawson explained - good for future use.Yeah ok.Hopefully she would have no need to see Thestrals in the future.Sarah didn't plan on seeing anyone die.Especially not this term. FEED THEM?! But they were like scary looking, skeletal things, weren't they? Taking in the description, Sarah wrinkled her nose as a picture formed in her head. Now she was glad she couldn't see them, as they didn't sound particularly pleasent to look at.And Miranda actually WANTED to feed them? Sarah's head spun round and she gave a look of shock to her friend.REALLY? Like REALLY, REALLY?! Eyes wide, she watched as more people took the raw, disgusting meat, and held it out for the creatures.Shuffling slightly closer to the captain, Sarah rested her chin on the girls shoulder so she could get a better view of what Miranda was - well....not seeing, as it were. "Oh...my...god," she whispered, as the meat disappeared into thin air and Miranda's out-stretched hand smoothed the animal.Sarah didn't attempt to try and touch it herself, she was likely to accidently stick a finger in it's eye or something and get bitten for the pleasure of it.Nope, she remained stock still, just staring at nothing.A nothing that was eating a chunk of meat in front of her very eyes.SO WEIRRRRDDDD. And then it was time to move.Back up to the paddock? With the Thestrals? Oooookay, then.Putting her hand on Miranda's back to let her know she was still there, Sarah followed the group out towards the paddock, eyeing up the people that were still waving raw meat behind them, obviously coaxing the creatures with them. But, of course, it occured to her that Mr Lawson was the Muggle Studies professor now. What on earth could he tell them about Thestrals? Watching the man walk back with his wife, Sarah scooted over towards them and cleared her throat slightly. "Urr, Professor Lawson....sir?" just in case they wondered which one she was speaking to. "I was wondering how Threstrals could be included in muggle studies? They're not very - well - muggle related, are they?" She gave him a quizzical look, followed by a smile.Hopefully it wouldn't sound like a stupid question. |
Once they were back into the paddock, Marcus stopped and looked around to make sure that one) his wife was alright and two) all the thestrals had followed along with the students. He stood beside a large box that seemed to contain what looked like helmets and an assortment of padding. At Sarah's question, Marcus gave her a small wink and was wearing a very secretive smile. "Well actually I was going to ask you all that? Over the term I have covered muggle sports in our lessons. So here we all are standing on a field with a herd of thestrals. What do you think we will be doing today?" |
Fred took some meat and held it out as the professor had asked he felt kind of silly, there was nothere that he could see. He then felt something take the the meat from his hand and it disapeared as if some invisible creature were eating. His breathing shallowed as it happened, it just seemed so weird. He knew only people who have seen death could see the creature and there were people who claimed to see the creature but this act took the cake. There was definately something there whether he could see it or not. |
Dylan raised his hand, "We playing polo, sir?" |
More muggle sports. She should've known! Ugh. Couldn't they just go running or something? At least she would've enjoyed that sport. Now, going through all the sports that she may have, accidentally, looked up, she did come across one sport that was played with horses, if that's what the Professor was hinting at the moment. They were going to be playing with the thestrals right? "Umm...I think there is a sport called Polo or something where the muggles ride horses while, doing... something." She hadn't really read what the point of the sport was, she just found it funny that muggles rode horses for a sport. Muggles, once again, were proven weird... |
