Sidney isn't the least bit thrilled to be studying billywigs. She had been stung by one when visiting her Uncle Conner in Australia. The experience left a lasting impression on the then three year old. Since then Sidney always runs in the opposite direction when someone spots one of those insects. She is happy to know there is a way to disarm the foul creatures before examining the creatures up close. Sidney gets out her wand and start practicing the incantation.

"EEM-O-BUE-LES... EEM-O-BUE-LES... EEM-O-BUE-LES...

"EEM-O-BUE-LES... EEM-O-BUE-LES... EEM-O-BUE-LES..." Carter said practicing the incantation over and over again.

Herminny already knew this spell and all the younger students looked to be catching on just fine so she decided to go over the pronunciation and said, "EEM-O-BUE-LES", just as a refresher.

Ivory breathed a sigh of relief as the older girl welcomed her question and answered it in detail. Watching closely as Cela demonstrated the jab and wrist flick, she tried it on her own a few times without saying the incantation. Squinting her eyes in concentration, she watched as the fiery tip of her wand flickered with how fluidly she tried to make her jab and flick.

After a few moments of this when she was confident that she had it down, she smiled gratefully at Cela.

"Thanks. I had to admit I've been really shy lately but I'm trying to get over it." She smiled hopefully, thinking maybe just maybe she'd found a new friend.

"EEm-O-BUE-LES." Kay was saying the spell under her breath when Barry came up. "Hi, I would love some help thanks. Is this right "Eem-o-bie-les." Kay asked not think it was but had to try. "I think that wrong."

Bella dug into her robe pocket and produced her wand, she smiled. She was very nevous, she hd never dont this spell before. Holding up her wand, her hand shaking slightly, she said clearly "EEm-O-Bue-Les" Nothing happened, hmmm, she wasnt surprise.

Smiling a little more she said it again, and again and agian.

"EEm-O-BUE-LES"She cried

Fred turned to the you Hufflpuff he knew was pronouncing the spell wrong and said, "No, it's pronounced, "EEM-O-BUE-LESS, try it, I'm sur you'll get it.".

Immobulus.EEM-O-BUE-LES.

Yeah she had heard of that spell, and wasn't surprised when the little insect thing, that looked like it could hurt if it stung you, stopped moving.Cool spell.Would be nice if it could be used on some people....

Sarah jabbed her wand a few times, trying to get the movement, while NOT saying the spell.Then she continuously repeated the word in her head, wanting to master the non-verbal for a change.Older students could help the younger ones? Ohhhhh, right.That would be a Prefect-y thing to do as well, huh? Biting her lip, Sarah looked around at the assembled masses, and upon hearing a few people say they would help, she said the same. "Uhh yeah, I'll help, too.Anyone that needs it just let me know," she smiled.

Kay smiled at the Gryffindor. "Thank you. Like this EEM-O-BUE-LES?" Kay asked and Looked at Barry to make sure. "Immobulus." She said looking back at the Gryffindor. "Hi, My names Kay. And your are?"

Hearing Dylan volunteer to help others, Iliana shot him a smile and said, "Thanks, Dylan. Oh... and I believe I forgot to award you points for your last answer. Silly me." Goodness she was just not feeling like herself today.
She stood up at last (billywig still in hand) and began walking around the students to check on their progress.

When she heard Jake's question, Iliana gave him a nod and said, "I'm fine, honey. Just a little tired. Now get to practicing, okay?"
"Thanks for volunteering, Kiri," she said. "By the way, I've got a few phials of pepperup potion in my bag if you'd like some."
As Iliana walked past Barry, she patted him on the back and smiled.
"Sounds great, Torin," she said. "I think you've got it."
Iliana couldn't help but feel proud as she heard so many of the older students offering to help out the younger ones. "Said like a true Head Boy, Jack!" she said, beaming over at him.
"Good job, Annie," she said. "All of you are doing splendidly."
"Wonderful demonstration, Cela," the professor said. "Everyone, pay attention to how Miss Toussaint is holding her wand," she called out.
"That sounds great, Sidney," she said. "I think we're just about ready."

Returning to the tank, Iliana placed her billywig on the table and clapped her hands together to regain the students' attention.

"Alright class, I am going to lift the lid up ever so slightly now in order to let a few of the billywigs fly out. They will be fast, so be ready for them. When I'm sure that you all can handle it, I'll let out a few more. Please make sure your gloves are on tightly and have your wands ready."

With that said, Iliana opened the tank just a few inches and watched as little blue blurs sped out the opening. "Don't worry about being stung," she called out. "My wand is ready for any runaways."

OOC: For now, please refrain from "being stung". That is for later.

Dylan smiled at her, "You are most welcome, Professor." His eyes widened. He was getting points anyway. Yay points. She wasn't so evil anymore. At least she wasn't crying at him.

He held his wand out in front of him. And with a deep breath he prepared his mind. Steadied his hand. He watched the billiwigs before him. They zipped past his eyes. With a wave of his wand, he cast the immobulus on one. He quickly caught it before it hit the floor. "Oh yeah." He didn't hold too tightly.

Miranda turned her attention to the Professor as she explained what was to come now. She grasped her wand excitedly and almost squiggled in her seat with anticipation. Oh boy. This was going to be awesome!

Her eyes followed Mrs. Lawson as she walked back and opened the lid to let a few thingies fly out. And they were FAST!
She saw one fly out into the night and aimed her wand and called out, "Immobulus!" A jet of silver shot out and hit the little bug, making it freeze and hover in the air. Whoooa.

How cool!
Feeling pretty comfortable with the spell, Miranda raised her hand, "Professor, if anyone needs help, I'd be glad to."

After a few minutes of being bored waiting patiently while everyone got the hang of the spell, she watched the one older Ravenclaw, who Evelyn remembered freaking out over a piece of paper in the broomstick care lesson, show the movement for the Immobulus spell. Yea, she knew how to do that already...

And Professor Morgan (since she sooo couldn't say Lawson at the moment) was going to let a few of them out? Ack! Gloves! Gotta put the gloves on! She was really slow at it too since her hands were practically numb now in the coldness. Finally getting them on just as the lid was being opened, she watched a few of the billywigs escape. Or at least tried too...

They were all so dang fast! Almost like little snitches flying around! Aiming towards one of them that seemed to be zoooooming away, she yelled a confident "Immobulus" with the weird wand movement.

Aaaand, she missed... GAH! "Immobulus!" she tried again when she caught it flying a straight line. Good good. So it only took her two tries. TWO tries. That was one more than one. Not perfect. She hated not getting it on the first try...but two was better than three, that was for sure.

Watching the little billywig turn motionless in the air, and slowly fall to the ground, she moved so when she held her hands out, it fell gently in her hands. It was...Blue. Blue was an ugly color. Not much like yellow though. She would rather it be blue than yellow...

Once completing the pratising and making sure he got the spell right which was not hard. Really. He looked up and watched Professor Morgan...yes Morgan...to walk around and then get back to her respective location before the students.

And after that she started to instruct them again and this one sounded quite fun! It was like a challenge and he liked challenges. He he but ooo he was not wearing gloves. Putting his wand on the ground, he quicky wore his gloves and picked his wand up, ready to cast at anything flying. Ahh there was one ''IMMOBULUS!!'' Did he get it? *Groan* he could not see

Carter pulled on his glove making sure it was on tight. All of a sudden blurs were flying around. "Immobulus!" he yelled. He watched as his spell hit one of the little billywigs. And it just stopped. Mid-flight. "Brilliant." he said leaning toward it to get a better look.

Oh, Destiny thought she was just going to be able to walk up to the container, stick her hand in and grab a blue demon billywig.

Of course she was wrong.

She watched with wide eyes as Professor Mor..son opened the container and blue specks flew, which seemed like they were flying right towards her.

ACCKKK!! There was no where to hide from them plus they were really fast, and really blue. Grabbing her wand that was on her lap, Destiny pointed it upwards. They were flying up, right? Duh, she mentally slapped herself, that's the only way to fly.

Well, it wasn't that bad. Only a few actually made it's way anywhere near her. She was about to cast on a billywig that was hovering over someones head, when out of nowhere (it wasn't nowhere, Destiny knew it came from that container) a billywig flew right up to her, and got all up in her face. She had to cross her eyes to get a good look at it, and her opinion still stood, it was ugly.

Slowly moving her hand, so her wand was pointed at the billywig, Destiny flicked her wrist at the iy, which in another one of her many opinions, looked like it was going to sting at any moment. Not on my watch. 'Immobulus.' she muttered so she wouldn't scare it away. It was frozen! She quickly reached out with her left hand and caught the immobile blue demon creature thing.

'I gooooooots one!'

Uhhhh she was letting them out? The stinging creatures that they had to hex? The fast, stinging.....Oh this was not good.Sarah was guessing the being stung by one of those things would rival a wasp, probably even surpass it, pain wise.She had to get this spell right.

Wand gripped tightly in her gloved hand, Sarah trained her eyes on the lid and waited with baited breath for them to start flying at her head.She was incredibly surprised by how quick her reflexes were, when one shot out in her direction.Arm up, she had jabbed her wand near it and said "Immobulous" loudly and clearly, more-or-less before she could think.The spell had caught it just before it to to her nose, and Sarah stuck her other hand out and let it drop down onto it.

Wiping her brow, Sarah squinted as she looked at the little thing now motionless in her left hand.She tilted her head to the side and grinned. "Coooool."

"'nks, Professor," Kiri managed with a small smile. "Er, maybe after the lesson? I'm pretty warm already," she added, indicating the fire. She suppressed a slight shudder. After all, she had had the opportunity to gulp down plenty of Pepperup Potion before, and that was after she'd nearly drowned. She wasn't eager to recall that feeling.

For now, a more impromptu solution would have to do. Kiri pulled out another tissue and ripped off two sizeable chunks. Twisting these into small, round plugs, she shoved them up her nostrils. She could almost physically feel how silly this had to look - a red nose, bulging at the end with two pieces of tissue stuffed into it - but at least it'd flow the stop of... She shuddered, trying not to imagine the icky stuff streaming out of her nose.

Just as Kiri was putting on her dragon-hide gloves again, Professor Lawson opened the aquarium. Immediately sensing freedom, the little Billywigs zoomed out, only to be met by a more or less well-aimed barrage of Freezing Charms.
Kiri missed the first one. The spell struck the frozen ground and fizzed out. Embarrassing for a Quidditch player, but she did legitimately feel a bit ill now, as if the runny nose was rapidly turning into a bad cold.

Narrowing her eyes, Kiri tried again. She managed a muffled "Immobulus!". One of the Billywigs stopped in mid-air as if it had flown into an invisible wall. Kiri hurried over and plucked the little creature out of the air. Insofar as an insect was able to convey emotions, this one seemed pretty annoyed about the charm that had been used on it.

"You've got it, but never stop practicing. More magical accidents come from a sloppy finish to the wand movement than from an incorrectly pronounced incantation you know." And she'd learned that little flick from Professor Kazimeriz. Nobody was better at magic than him.

And nobody ever would be in Cela's opinion.

"Almost everyone at Hogwarts is super nice." Cela told Ivory. "Especially in Ravenclaw."

Cela obligingly turned a little so that people could see her wand grip and the jab!flick motion even as she listened to the Professor's instructions. She was going to practice non-verbally since the spell was easy enough for her.

Her gloves were on and so comfortable she barely noticed that she was wearing them, as it should be.

The jabbed in the direction of the nearest Billywig, concentrating hard as she finished the movement with a tidy little flick, almost like she was driving a point home. The Billywig froze in the air and gravity tugged at it. Cela made a dive and caught the blue insect before it hit the ground. She gave it a little stroke and stood up again, cradling it carefully in her hand.

'What the heck', Herminny thought as she heard the professor say she was letting out the billywigs that could sting but then she thought how would we learn anything if we did not take risks. And withat thought she took out her wandand upon seeing a billywig come right at her she waved her wand and exclaimed, "EEM-O-BUE-LESS", and stopped the billywig dead in it's tracks. She smiled but looking out quickly realized her mission was far from over and kept her wand at the ready.

Marie watched carefully as the professor lifted the lid on the tank. She was determined to get one of those critters on the first try. Pointing her wand at one she shouted "Immobulus". Watching as it flew off she realized she missed it. 'Wow, she wasn't kiddign when she said they were fast.' Looking for another one shepointed her wand again and shouted "Immobulus", this time hitting the little thing. Makig sure her gloves were pulled on tightly she put her hand out to catch it. Weeeee, she had one and she didn't need help getting it.

...oh. Raiden straightened up, paying a bit more attention. He definitely did not want to get stung. That... would be bothersome. He'd never had it happen before, and he certainly didn't want to find out how he'd react to it.

Wand in hand, he watched the little things as they buzzed about. He disliked wearing gloves while doing magic; the lack of fingers-to-wand contact just didn't feel right. Frowning slightly, his eyes locked on a billywig coming straight toward him.

"Immobulus."

The thing stopped inches from him, wings immediately frozen; he held out his free hand to catch it before it reached the ground.

Stare.

"If you didn't sting people, this probably wouldn't be necessary," he muttered helpfully to the little blue bug in his palm.

...what were they supposed to do with them now?

Chris was so excited for this. Care of magical Creatures was definately one of his favorite classes. He smiled happily at Professor Lawson as she watched them practice the spell. Chris had pulled out his wand practicing first. "Immobulus." He was ready to try it on something now. Billywigs? Sounded like a fun first thing to try it on.

Chris winked towards Professor Lawson to show he was ready, and with his wand clentched in his right goved hand, he watched as the first few flew out towards him and the group of students. One of them flew right at his face, he had barely enough time to to yell, "Immobulus!" the little flying creature had frozen and slowed. It had been such a close call that the thing skidded an inch or so more slowly and bumped into Chris's forehead. Phew.

Still swinging her feet Arya practiced saying the charm over"EEm-O-BUE-LES!", and over "EEm-O-BUE-LES!", and over again "EEm-O-BUE-LES!" until she felt she had mastered the incantation. She twirled her wand in her hand as she practiced the spell, happy to add to her small list of spells.

Her eyes practically bore a hole into the tank as she observed the billywigs. they seemed to fasinate her so much that she almost missed it when Professor Lawson began to speak again.She's leting them out, awesome!Her eyes lite up when Lawson said she would let the creatures out of the tank.

As the billywigs flew out of the tank and around the students, Arya slowed her leg swinging and wand twirling to focus on the charm as well as the billywigs. Taking a slow breath she focused on a particular billywigs that was near her. She instantly stoped twirling her wand, pointing at the billywig and say "Immobulus" Arya quickly caught the creature and examined it with wonder in her eyes. "I shall call you Wiggy....Wiggy the Billywig."

Ivory watched entranced as the small bugs flew out of the the tank.

That is until she noticed their stingers. Snapping out of her fascination she pulled on her gloves and held her wand at the ready knowing this was not the time to be mesmerized by the flame that always appeared at the tip of her wand.

Her eyes zeroed in one of the little buggers as he made a beeline her way.

Concentrating on what Cela had taught her she moved her wand in a fluid jab with the tiniest flick at the end.

"Immobulus," she pronounced almost musically.

Immediately the small bug froze mid flight and seemed to float there for a millisecond.

Enough time that Ivory considered the bug's safety and as quick as her small legs could carry her, dived forward and caught the little thing safely in the cradle of her hands.

Looking down at the immobilized little bugger she had to admit it was quite cute.

"I'm sorry Mr.Billywig," she apologized,"you'll be back to spinning around in no time. And don't worry I'll take care of you."

Smiling at Raiden for it seemed she wasn't the only one conversing with her bug, she sighed contented for having successfully done the charm on her first try and waited patiently for what to do next.
