The classroom was arranged a little like an amphitheatre.
Desks were arranged in several rows, in a large semi-circle shape, facing the front of the room where Professor JD Kade was playing Jacks at his desk (at last look, he was working on foursies.)
On each desk, there was a note, and on the blackboard there was a large scrawly message that said:
Sit down
Get out a piece of parchment
Write down your FULL NAME, YEAR, and HOUSE
Fold the parchment in a little tent and stand it up on your desk so I can see it.
Unless of course you want to be Hey-You, in No-Year, of No-House.
PS: You can talk to each other until get past fivesies.
OOC: latecomers, now that the class has started, don't bother making the nametag, just pretend like you were always there and you have your nametag. | |

Chris had to snicker a bit in his head, as Professor Kade pointed out the Ravenclaws' similar thoughts on the nonexistence of the spell. He then asked them about a Quantitative spell after raising his hand Chris said. "Well if its anything like in Science when you take a Quantitative inference, it has something to do with numerical data, such as amount and measurements. So would a Quantitative spell somehow increase or deacrese the amount of something, or perhaps do an inventory of how much there is of something?" he asked and answered the question the best that he could.
He liked this class so far, it was making him think.

Stoping her wand twirling momentarily she poped another piece of gum into her mouth before continuing her twirling. She was getting antsier the more quiestions he asked, so she decided to twirl with her left hand while taking notes with her right(which she should have been doing in the first place). Blew a big bubble while watching Allison awnser a question before she continued her note taking.

Neither did Dakest--he was still funny though, even while shooting little looks at her. Daphne pondered over this new turn on Charms.
Mathematical Charms? Huuuuh! Hopefully they wouldn't start doing something with numbers. There was a reason she didn't take Arithmancy.

"When you cast a Quantitative Charm, you increase or decrease the amount of what you are casting upon. You can do that by making more objects, fewer objects, making the object bigger, or smaller, so long as it has changed in terms of Quantity. Now, who knows an example of a Quantitative Charm?" he asked the class, rifling through the cavernous drawer.

Evan wanted to come up with something that hadn't been told, but he really couldn't think of anything. Engorgio, reducio and diffindo were charms he'd have told too could he think faster. He then decided to give a really simple and basic thought go. It wouldn't hurt if he was wrong, right?
He raised his hand hesitantly, as if afraid of being seen. "Could it be saying the incantation more fiercefully to have more? Like you shout the spell 'aguamenti' and you have more water than you'd have normally?.." Yeah, time to lower your hand after rumbling. Maybe the professor wouldn't hear.
Perfect, and now he was late. He knew he never should have answered. He shook his head slightly. He didn't know a duplication spell. Sigh. He sooo should have stayed in common room.
