Kylie had really liked Professor Lupa last year and decided it would be nice to drop by to ask how her summer had went, etc. etc. She walked up to the door, less nervously than she had a year prior, and knocked on it. She then quietly sat down on the small bench outside of Professor Lupa's office. She quietly hummed an old muggle sailor melody her parents had sang her to help her fall asleep at night when she was a child.

Mmmmmhm. Jake had repeated his words over and over in his head, all the better to talk clearly. This was one of the visits he desperately felt he needed to make. He was very grateful to the woman for being very understanding. Merlin knew Jake couldn't cope last year.

Seeing that someone had knocked on the door already, Jake nodded to himself and sat on the seat thing beside the girl, still mentally rehearsing what to say.

I just came to say... I just wanted to say... I wanted to tell you...

Alessia approached her office and saw two students there. She left her wand hang, and it pointed to the girl. "Miss Matthews, I believe you were first?" She said and entered her office motioning for the girl to follow.

Lucy came near the bench outside professor's office, and sat next to the boy who was already waiting outside and she saw a girl moving in " OK so I’m third, good at least i have one company, I’m Lucy and what’s your name " she asked to the boy he looked very nervous, "Hey what's the matter" she said.

Looking up at the girl beside him as she spoke, Jake considered answering for a moment, but was spared the trouble as Lupa instantly opened the door and called him in.

The boy leapt to his feet as though shocked with electricity, told himself he wouldn't stutter or turn himself into an idiot, and stepped forwards and through the door.

After, of course, sparing the girl who had spoken to him an apologetic smile.

"Bye" she said to the boy as she saw him moving in, "Ok, so that leaves me alone, great, i should wait here until he comes out" she thought to herself

Lucy heard professor calling her in, she got up and walked in the room with a smile on her face.

So... maybe he'd only just seen the woman... meh. He wanted to come back. Already he was having a bad year, and even if he could just talk to someone totally impartial, that would be okay.

Since he didn't want to talk to his head of house... since he was convinced she hated him.

And... well... Jake thought Lupa was really nice.

Looking distracted and, frankly, a little upset, Jake sat on the bench and swung his feet, waiting.

Alessia stuck her head out the door and saw... Upstead?

"Jake? Weren't you just here yesterday? What's wrong? are you alright?" She said worriedly.

Seeing Tibi go past, Jake quickly wiped away the tear that was threatening to fall and hid his face. Hearing his name, the boy looked up quickly and leapt to his feet. Keeping his bottom lip from trembling and much as he could, Jake shook his head slowly. Dude, he was NOT alright.

"Muhhh-mmmay I cccccome in?" he asked quietly, nervously flattening the top of his hair. Looking down at the floor, Jake tried not to make any eye contact. Still he didn't know why he picked Lupa… She just… seemed to be the right person, and it helped that they got along.

Only one trip. That was pretty decent considering the blatant mocking the Ancient Runes had given him in class earlier. Shifting the weight of his backpack on his shoulder, Sabel peered about the hallway. It was pretty empty for class ending and he felt a little strange just standing there.

So there was only one thing to do. He planted himself on the bench to wait.

Having been entertaining himself with juggling the runes from the pouch absently between his hands, he hadn't noticed the door to the Professor's office open. Nor did he notice her until she spoke. It was the sudden greeting that startled him and nearly sent him to dropping the runes; this time of his own accorrd.

Fumbling to get them back in their pouch and then the pouch in his pocket and his bag on his shoulder, Sabel somehow managed to get himself from point A, the bench, to point B, Professor Lupa's office.

Jenny wasn't feeling all that great. Between getting so lost that she was dizzy and losing her friends before they even got to spend half a term together, she needed someone as understanding, kind, and likable as Professor Lupa. She sat, not speaking. She loved this teacher, so Jenny brought colored flowers. They were all different tropical colors.

A disembodied voice said:

"Professor Lupa is with a student at the moment.
You are First in line.
Please enjoy a peppermint toad while you are waiting."

And out of the side of the bench a box with the candy appeared.

Rather than wait for the next lesson, Jake figured it was better to come and see Lupa right now with the note from the Healer and an apology.

Plus... maybe he could tell her about the lake incident. He had to tell SOMEONE after all, and he trusted Lupa not to tell anyone else. Now he thought about it, he could even tell her about how Dylan was helping him with his speech, since she kinda bugged him about it last term.

So, seeing that the door was closed, Jake noted that the professor was busy with someone else, and sat himself down on the bench, note clenched in his hand.

From where he'd been sitting, fiddling with the mote he held; folding and unfolding it, Jake managed to tune himself out from the world.

"Wha…?" he started, looking up at the sound of his name. "Oh."

And Jake stood up and entered the office.
