OOH! How NICE that they were given points! Candy raised her hand. "1038 miles per hr at the equator, ma'am," she specified. "But since the distance's different at different points, that's not the speed at all of them!"

"Professor I think that the earth moves at the rate of 1,674.4 km per hour." Kay said holding her hand up. She looked around of the room to actully see who was there.

"Yes, that is exactly what I wanted! 2 points."

She looked around with a quizzical look, "Maybe I didn't phrase it quite right, How long does it take the Earth to Orbit the Sun?"

Oh he knew this. Raising his hand, Blake answered, "It takes 365 days, 6 hours, seven seconds to circle the sun." Yay! He answered without considering the book. It could be wrong too. Oh noes.

Satine shot her hand into the air, "O Professor, isn't it something like 365 days, 6 hours, seven seconds or something close to that..." she said wondering where that random piece of knowledge had been stored in her brain.

Candy raised her hand. "365 days and six hours!" she said happily. "Seven secs too, professah!" And hey! That Sabel girl's answer was the same as Candy's --- only, Candy had said it in miles per hr! Sabel in km stuff!! OOH! NEW UNIT!

"365 day and six hours, Professor." Kay stated

"It takes 365 days or a year to orbit the sun."That was a easy one Arya thought.

Oh, well that one was easy. Looking through her book Marie is surprised at what she reads. "Um professor, it takes 1 year, or 365 days to orbit the sun."

Sabel blinked in surprise. One question and he had fixed his mistake at the feast. He hadn't actually expected his answer to get him anywhere, especially since only one other student had declared the 1,674.4 km per hour answer along with him. Had it been the 24 hour comment that he had stated just for the sake of it? He nearly dropped his head on his desk as he let out a sigh of relief, instead glancing over at a familiar voice, smiling when he caught sight of Arya. So she was in this class too..

"Another tidbit, The side of the Moon that faces Earth is called the near side, and the opposite side the far side.

"There are several theories as to how the Moon formed. But, before we touch on these, I want to hear what YOU all think."

Satine tapped her quill against the side of her cheek to think about the question and then had an idea...."Well, it would make sense for the moon to have been created by like one of the planets or an asteroid or something hitting Earth and taking a chunk of it out of the atmosphere but not far enough that the gravity of Earth couldn't keep a hold of it..." she said quickly hopeing that her explanation made sense...in her head it did atleast.

Thinking hard she raised her hand to awnser."I think that when the Earth was formed by....asteroides I think, A piece was left over a got cought in the earth's orbit. And billions of years latter someone called it the moon."Arya made unrecognizable handgestures as she spoke, ending with a smile.

Huh? A year...aw she missed a question. Sighing, still looking for her book-oh. It was right there on the desk. Pssh. 'Course she knew that. Juuuust looking for another quill is alll..."I think the moon just formed on it's own like everything else in our solar system. So, maybe it formed from all the gas and rocks close by to Earth and then just got caught in the gravity field...thing." Random theory on that, and she did think about how the moon was formed sometimes, or how even the Earth was formed. Too many theories...But yes, it was just her theory.

And to think, Destiny thought the moon was made out of cheese. If that was the case she could tell the Professor how a farmer formed the moon. Now she had no idea how it was formed. There was only one logical explanation then, 'Magic! The moon was formed by magic.' She still liked the farmer idea though.

Man, the amount of information and the speed of class was overwhelming! What were these firsties, androids? Evan knew the answers too, but before he could even gather his answers, he was beaten! Luckily though, he finally got a hold of his brain and could answer this time. Ahem.

"It might be a particle from Big Bang." That was how the explosion called which created this solar system, right? "And as Earth's gravity is bigger, and as they are both turning around, there is a distance kept, but Moon can't get free either." Made up much? Well, she wanted their ideas, and he didn't have a clue about one of the theories. With that made up, back to dreams of becoming an Auror.

Of course Chaucer had many ideas on how the moon was formed, but with all the answers he had been hearing he decided that a romantic approach was out of the question.
"Well, I think it's a very tragic case. Earth, before any real life was on it, was hit by another body with such force that a piece of it broke off! Perhaps many pieces did, but only our Luna was loyal enough to stay in Earth's orbit... I mean... obviously loyalty had nothing to do with it..."

Chaucer had always fancied that the moon was like Earth's most loyal concubine, like in a opera he once watched, where disaster struck and all the people of the palace fled. Everyone that is except the concubine Yuu who stayed with the emperor, preferring death than disloyalty.

As people gave there awnsers, she looked around the class and noticed Sabel smiling at her. Fighting the urge to speak she instead gave a friendly smile. Maybe he could get with her and Arya to study.

"Very nice ideas! I'll give you all 1 point for being brave enough to throw out your own ideas. And everyone can have a chocolate frog for being respectful of everyone's ideas." Chocolate frogs floated off Maidee's desk and out to the students.

"There are four main theories to how the moon was formed, the first of these is the Fission Hypothesis.

Hehe, this should be funny. "Umm I slightly believe the Aliens created the moon but I also doubt that it's not the case." Biting his lip, Blake further added, "Well my made up theory is that, Moon used to be a watery planet..." Okay that sounds pretty stupid but so are the other theories, "...annnd it somehow froze millions of years ago, though I have noooo idea how." Eee, what a silly thing to say.



Oh drat...too late.

Satine smiled and grabbed one of the chocolate frogs floating over head with a quick smile and, "Thanks Professor!" She quickly unwrapped it and then focused back on her notes. Wow equiva...what...that word was way out of Satine's range, but she tried keeping up with the notes.

Giving Arya a small nod of the head in greeting, seeing as how waving would be a bad idea at this time. At least with nodding, it could appear as a compliment to her ideas instead of a silent communication of 'hello'. Looking back ahead he let out a small breath, glad many of his friends were in the class.

Kellen nodded to himself. What the professor was saying made sense to him, for he doubted that the ocean floor had a perfect scoop taken out of it.

Oh, right. Well, it was still a detached particle, wasn't it? So his answer wasn't so bad... And he, being a chocolate freak, would of course go and get one. He immediately grabbed a chocolate frog and ate it happily as he listened to the professor. Hmm. Interesting. He'd remember that, right? So just a few points written down should do it.

"The second theory is the Capture hypothesis which centers on the Moon being formed elsewhere and subsequently being captured by Earth's gravity. However, the conditions conjectured necessary for such a mechanism to work, such as an extended atmosphere of the Earth in order to dissipate the energy of the passing Moon, are improbable."
