I think the obvious reason is the stone themselves. Rune stones are carved on stones very similar to the ones used for the Chakra stones. Then they both have symbols on them. I think the Chakra stone's symbols are more defined than the Rune ones. The rune stones are thought to bring together the spiritual and physical world. The Chakra stones do a similar thing. They bring spiritual energy inside our body to help us to live healthier lives. The Chakra's energy also feeds our aura, a spiritual field that surrounds us.

"Yes. They look like runes." She repeated. "Anyone else?"

"Yes. They have mystical qualities and that make them similar to runes." She said.

"Yes, they have symbols." She said, "Anything else?"

"Yes, very good Prefect Kururugi" She said, "You are all doing so well."

"Indeed." She said giggling.

"Yes, that is sad, but true." She said.

"Yes, they have the same appearance." She repeated. "But the reason they get so confused with real runes, is because a group of wizards once charmed them in front of a group of squibs, making them believe they are runes. Those squibs had friends and family in the wizard media, and papers were run, radio shows were taped... But the fact of the matter was, everything was unfounded. By themselves, these stones concentrate your energy to release tension. That's why muggles use them in massage therapy. Used with magic, the stones, which already concentrate energy on the organs they correlate to, override the will to control your body. It's a way for a wizard to control your body like a puppet."

Alessia pointed her wand at her own prefect. "Raiden, if you don't mind..." but she didn't wait for an answer. She cast on the runes on Raiden, which then came flying into her hand. As she held the runes she whispered something to them.

Raiden stood and began to dance the polka and he could NOT stop it.

She whispered into the runes again.

Raiden disapperated.

She whispered once more.

Raiden apparated back holding a plate of cookies.

She then waved her wand over the runes and handed them back to her prefect. "Did anyone notice something odd?"

ooc: Ameh gave me permission to "use" Raiden.

"Proffessor Raiden was doing things she normally wouldn't do and it must take much athouratiy to make her do it because she apparated and dissaperated and you normally can't do that in Hogwarts. It was as if she was under the Imperius curse just all you had to do was take her stones and whisper to them." Jacklyn Caroline says amazed.

Lina sat up, the runes falling off of her, but she realized it was probably too late since Professor Lupa put them there in the first place. "It's like a weird kinda voodoo doll... It seems to almost act like an imperious curse, but it's controlling of physical action and magic, and you have to tell it what to do." Could she control both of them at the same time? She hoped not.

"Raiden was able to aparate and disaparate within Hogwarts."

Gasp.

Raiden literally stopped breathing when his body started moving on its own, eyes wide in horror at the jerky motions that he couldn't control.

And then the sudden disappearing thing... totally was not expecting that. His stomach gave an angry twist as he found himself in the kitchen, still moving quite involuntarily and gathering... cookies?! What the hell was he gathering cookies for?!

"Oooooh Merlin whaaaaaat," he managed to mumble before his stomach gave another angry twist and he was in the classroom once more, his attempts at breathing all in vain at the moment. Panic panic panic what was this woman doing to him Merlin Morgana and Mordred he was never coming back to this class again-

And then she was handing the runes back to him, and he was practically thrusting the cookies into her arms before he dropped to the floor and drew a long, shuddering breath. His eyes moved to the runes clutched in his hand and he immediately let go of them, watching the treacherous things scatter away from his hand before he looked at the professor again.

"What did you just do to me?!"

Evelyn watched the scene in front of her, fascinated that the Professor could do that with the stones she held in her hand. And someone literally just spoke her thoughts on the matter. "Yea...kinda like the imperius curse." she said, slightly becoming wide eyed at her own repeated answer. "Although, he knows what he's doing. Right?" Then, it wouldn't be illegal? Unless it was....

OMG forget the fact that the Slytherin just disapparated in Hogwarts...it was another Professor Duckfeet moment!!

Yeah Destiny noticed something weird.

Raiden was over there holding a tray of COOKIES and he was not sharing! Something like that is definitely considered weird..and totally selfish!

Annnd, if the Professor could do that to people just because of these stones, Destiny didn't want them on her anymore! She sat up and allowed all the runes to fall off her..ha!

No way was she going to do that dance!

"Wicked Professor. How long does the magic last? Do you need to constantly recharge the spell?" Sidney found the things quite fun. I hope she teaches the spell to us. I would love to try that on Harry. Then Sidney remembers she's not allowed to do magic outside of school. Darn!!!

... She? "You are right... however, Prefect Kururugi is a boy... Or I have the wrong prefect in the Slytherin boy's dorm." She giggled...

"Right... but that is what the runes, paired with magic do... but there is something else..." she said.

"Oh stop," she said waving him off, "I needed an example to show the students, Miss Materia didn't get all bent out of shape," ...silly boy.

"Indeed it is..." She said, "and yes, he does remain conscious. I'm not taking his free will... merely moving his muscles."

"AHA!!!" She said nodding. "Because these runes use the energy in your body, the anti-disapparition spells do not work on it. Mostly because it isn't a regular apparition/disapparition... anyway that's all over my head. But as you saw... Cookies!" She said and took one, biting into it.

Sidney gets a cookie. "So the magic you used on the stone only amplified the magic that already exist inside us and that enabled you to control his muscles? If Raiden didn't do a normal aparation, does that mean he could not have left the castle using aparation?" Strangely Sidney was interested in these stones. She didn't know why.

Jacklyn Caroline giggled, "Sorry Raiden I must have been out of my mind. Proffessor, would the anti-disapparition spell also work on younger people, I mean Raiden hasn't taken apparition yet but still he would probably have an easier time but would it work on first and second years?"

"So, Professor..." she started, clearing her throat and looking quite innocent yet interested in the subject. "...You are saying one can apparate and diapparate in the castle, using these stones?" Leaning back on her hands again, staring at the little pile of stones next to her, completely noticing that the purple one was gone. She would have to get that back later from Josh.

But first of all..."You did something to them though. Didn't you? Some sort of spell to make them move his body like that." Well it was a completely normal thing to be curious about! Anyone could be asking what it was....

Raiden was about to point out how blatantly different this was to what Lina had done when he realised... that the woman probably wouldn't see the problem anyway, even after he pointed it out to her. Lina had been levitated. Raiden, however, had lost all control over his entire body, apparated (he didn't even know how to DO that, he was only 16!), and just generally been utterly freaked out.

This. Was. DIFFERENT.

Breathe.

A flick of his wrist released his wand and he gathered the scattered stones together, levitating them back to the spot he'd been sitting before. He was not touching them again. Merlin only knew what Professor Lupa would do to him again, given another chance. Following after the floating stones, he kept his eyes on his... socks. Merlin, they were coming off now. No more kissyfaces.

Flopping back down on the pillow, his face pink, Raiden tugged his socks off and shoved them into his pocket and focused his eyes on his bare feet, kneazle ears twitching visibly.

"No... there is no magic in the stones. It's the chakra in your organs, that is being brought out by the stones... There is no magic, in the stones." She answered.

"Yes, cause it's technically NOT what we do to apparate."

"Yes, and I did indeed. I am not going to teach you the spell, it's dangerous and it isn't taught in school, so don't ask." She clapped her hands getting the attention of the students. "Alright... homework. IF, if you know how to cast this spell, who would you cast it on, and what would you make them do. Three inches of parchment. Class Dismissed."

Lina noted Raiden's reaction. Okay, I could understand being upset, but something seems different... She grabbed a cookie, trying to look fairly casual, and walked up to Raiden. Speaking softly with concern in her eyes, she asked, "Hey, are you alright? You don't look too good."

Whaaat?! Well, that put a damper in her mood. She was totally hoping that maybe Professor Lupa would slip some useful information that she could use to figure out how this thing worked, but...nothing!

Hmm, maybe if she asked when no one was around. Surely she could come up with some really good excuse where the Professor would have to tell her then. Or teach her. Or something where she could figure it out on her own, but that would have to be muuuuuuch later on in the year. Like, just before they went home.

Now visibly depressed and unmotivated for anything, Evelyn didn't even bother to write down the homework before she stood up and grabbed her bag. "Professor, do we leave the stones here or take them with us?"

Stones that forced thing? That did not sound good at all. Carter thought to himself making note of the homework. And these are the stones that had been found in the headmaster's office last term?

Writing down the homework Kay wonder about the spell. 'ummm I wonder if that's how the person hurting students was getting around?

"Thanks Professor for a great class. But can I asked you something?" Kay asked as she packed her bag up. She walked up to Professor Lupa. Softly she asked. "Professor, umm Do you think that someone in Hogwarts could be use this spell to get around To hurt the students? I mean is it possable?" Kay watched the other people in the class.

"Sorta," Raiden murmured, one hand rubbing his stomach absently. He'd side-along apparated with his father before, and Plymouth that one time to London, so he was fully aware of what it felt like... and although that had felt slightly different, it hadn't done his stomach any better. At least he hadn't thrown up? "The... eh. That was a bit unpleasant."

Making a quick note of the homework (which he... would really have to think about because... he wouldn't do that to anyone.), Raiden stood again and scratched the back of his ear.

"My stomach and any form of disappearing and reappearing don't seem to get along very well."

"Oh, that's too bad." She frowned a little and searched through her pockets. Though for once, her answer wasn't a potion. Instead she pulled out a bag of candies and looked through it. With a smile she pulled out a little red and white striped one. "Peppermint. It's very good for calming stomachs. Sometimes my tummy gets queasy with my headaches, so I try to keep it with me. It's kinda become my favorite candy because of that."

"Oh..." she smiled. "You can't take them out of this class, they will disappear." She said shrugging. "The stones with the right properties are very very rare. I merely duplicated them for the class, they will disappear in less than an hour, or if they are removed from this class." She said.

"No. As I said, there is only one real set..." she said showing hers are disappearing ones by sticking her hand out the door. "and they are with the headmaster."

They'll disappear? Frowning, her mood completely solemn now, she sighed and went towards the cubby to get her shoes that NO ONE should have touched. Because if she found out someone did and found who that person was...they will pay. Examining her shoes, which seemed fine, she sat down for a moment and put them on, glancing towards the pillow she used and where her stones lay.

Well, they were there. Huh, maybe the pillow was blocking her view of them. Finally have her shoes on, she grabbed her bag again and walked back over to her spot and saw that the stones were gone. How did the Professor get a copy of the stones if the real ones were with the headmaster, who was apparently missing? Eh, well the stones would have been extremely useful to her if she had them, but it didn't seem likely now.

With a tiny shrug to herself, she glanced at Marie, Destiny, and Josh before making her way towards the door. "Bye Professor." she muttered quietly, not really sure if her Head of House heard her or not. But, anyways...she had some more studying to do!!

Aww. Too bad they couldn't take the stones. They were awfully nice..except for the whole 'I'm gonna cast a spell on these and make you do a freaky dance.' They weren't nice then.

Destiny quickly copied down the homework, already knowing who she would cast on and what she would have them do. Heehee. Stuffing her bag with her things, she walked over and shoved her shoes on her feet, totally forgetting to tie them. 'Bye Professor!' she called out as she left the classroom.

She had to go do..something.

"Bye everyone," she said and waiting for the last person to leave, she closed and locked on the door.
