Gold placed the purple rune on top of her head, and closed her eyes. She had never done this before, though she knew her father knew a lot about chakras and energy transmission and stuff.

Maybe he would teach her, one day?

"I feel sort of relaxed," she said, with a slight smile, as she inhaled deeply, concentrated on the stone and the good things this whole process could possibly do, and nothing else. "Happy."

But she was pretty much always happy, so maybe that wasn't so new?

She raised her hand, to answer Professor Lupa's question. "Forehead, professor," she said, simply. "A bit above the brows."

"Correct!" She placed hers on her forehead.

"Indeed." She said.

"Center your energy... that's what they are supposed to do." She said.

"Good Job Prefect Kururugi!" She said, "Where your third eye would be..." and she made an Oooooooo sound. Tony would frown on her teasing his class. "Ok... who can tell me where this next stone is to go?"

Lina prodded the runes a little, remembering the picture she saw... she picked up the next stone and ran her fingers over it. "Next one... is the throat chakra, isn't it?" She placed it at her throat and closed her eyes. There was a reason she didn't like divination. This felt strangely like... Wait... "Are these connected to something, Professor Lupa?"

Gold raised a hand. "Throat," she said, politely. "Where your thyroid gland would be, in fact." She placed her free hand on her neck, as she spoke. To show what she meant.

"Good Job ladies... let's go ahead and put all of them where they are supposed to go." She told them.

Marie placed the second stone on her forehead and the third one on her neck. They made her feel no different than she felt earlier. Well they did make her feel silly laying there with rocks on her face. Did that count for anything?

Really, what was the point in all of this anyway? Now she couldn't move her head to glare at Violet because the silly stones would fall off.

Right-o.

Placing the runes stones.

Destiny carefully placed each stone in the correct spot. Now she was not feeling nice, and definitely not like sugar and spice. She felt like a fool, but at least she wasn't the only fool in class.

Now that the stones were in place, what was supposed to happen?

'Am I supposed to float.. or something?'

Because that would be totally cool.

Sidney lies down her her back. She places the first stone, the Sahasrara (Amethyst stone), on the top of her head. Actually Sidney places on the floor as close to the top of her head as she can get it. It's hard to put the stone on the top of her head when she lying down. The second stone, the Ajna (Lapis Lazuli), on the area just above the root of her nose. Sidney has to be careful not to move her nose. She doesn't want the stone to fall off. The third stone, the Vishuddha (Blue Calcite) on her throat. I wonder which one is next. If I remember correctly, it will be the heart stone. That's the ummm, which one is that?

Ivory laid down on the soft pillows, trying to be as peaceful as possible. She didn't really know what she was supposed to feel but being tense probably didn't help.

Placing the stones in their appropriate places, she began by stretching out a bit first, and then focused her intent on relaxing ever part of her body. First her toes. She imagined each toe just uncurling and releasing any tension. One by one. Then her ankles and her calves, her hamstrings in her legs.
Her abdomen she relaxed with one deep exhale, moving on to imagine her diaphram over her lungs taking in air and pushing it out evenly and uniformly.
In...1,2,3,4,5,6,7...Out....1,2,3,4,5,6,7.

The she mentally pretended to shrug her shoulders, rolling the joints until they were without tension. Her back she concentrated on the most.

Visualizing each vertebrae single from the rest she imagined it cushioned by all the fluffiness of the pillow. Shock absorbers if you will. Each feeling no discomfort.

Her arms came next followed soon after by her fingers slowly until all that was left was her mind. Letting go of all her stresses and worries, she let herself drift on her breathing.
Inhale...1,2,3,4,5,6,7. Exhale....1,2,3,4,5,6,7.

Concentrating on the places where the stones touched her skin, she tried to pinpoint what she was feeling.

Fred just rolled his eyes at that responce. 'Control one's energy, please', Fred tthought as he laid back and placed each rune on the right spot and felt rediculous at first but as he calmed down he actually could feel the energy flow and his mouth dropped and he exclaimed, "I can feel the flow this is crazy cool". He could not belive there was actually something to these runes but was kind of glad this lesson was not just crazy talk.

This wasn't about just placing the rune stones on different spots, was it? Gold wanted this lesson to mean something, and she just did not feel comfortable with the idea of lying there, feeling nothing. These stones were here for a reason, were they not?

Yes, she was certainly going to make an effort to really study them. Learn what they could do.

She picked up the third rune, and quietly placed it on her neck, just at the place where her thyroid should be. Then she closed her eyes, inhaled deeply, and tried to feel. It was like things were clearer, or maybe as if she were safer. She was not sure what she was feeling, but she knew she was feeling something. Or maybe she just wanted to?

"I feel like I can think clearly, professor," she said, not able to raise a hand, because both here hands were occupied with the stones. "It feels sort of safe... like I'm more secure."

Eh?

Hrmmm. Throat. Raiden set the light blue one on his throat, right above the small lump that was his Adam's apple. Automatically, without waiting for the next, he picked up the green stone and placed it over his heart.

...oh.

Raiden gave a slight jerk at the sudden realisation.

He had done this before. Years and years and years ago. That was why it was so familiar. He was pretty sure it hadn't been with runes, just with regular crystal things... but it was the same thing.

One of his mum's phases, it had been. Stuff like this was also the reason he had the two pendants in his trunk that he never wore...

Right. He did not like this class now. Sigh.

Lina began placing the stones, somewhat fumbling and dropping one or another. She glanced over to see that Raiden didn't look very comfortable. Everyone else seemed to be doing fine, or were even really comfortable with it. She shifted, and lost all of the stones. With a sigh she got up and gathered the stones. While she was up, she looked back over. "Raiden, are you okay?" She settled back down and started placing stones again, this time trying to do it from the bottom up... though they seemed a little uncomfortable in some places.

Make her laugh? Pfft. She'd more then likely whine about it, but Evelyn Flores never whined! Unless it was necessary and called for...like right now.

They had to put all of the stones on themselves now? Like...all of them? Looking around, it seemed like that's what they were doing. Sighing, she rolled her eyes and picked up one of stones at a time. Sooo, this one went between the eyebrows or something? And this one...on the throat...blah blah blah.

Trying to make sure she didn't make any sudden movements, she laid there for a moment, willing the stones that were on her face and throat to warm up soon because the coldness was kinda uncomfortable against her skin. Although, this time she didn't feel ridiculous... she felt EXTREMELY ridiculous!! Why couldn't they learn about normal runes instead of this?

Hmmm?!

Kay giggled at some of the other. Kay had read about this from one of her mum books. The stones were to help you feel your energy. She took the stones one by one and placed them where they went. laying very still, so as not to loss any of them. "Professor are we going to try and feel the energy?" She asked felling kind of weird just laying there.

"'m fine," Raiden mumbled quietly, in response to Lina's question. He just hadn't been expecting that at all. Being caught off-guard wasn't something he particularly enjoyed. "I just remembered something."

Grumble.

His hands quickly found the spots where the rest of the stones were supposed to be; though his body was significantly bigger now, he somehow managed to remember the exact placements and everything.

This was silly.

It didn't do anything. He recalled that much. Anyone who was feeling better from this was either lying, or experiencing the placebo effect. Still, Raiden allowed himself to relax a little bit, and focused all his thoughts on the slowly warming spots on his throat and forehead.

Josh was laughing constantly but silently having a lot of fun by rolling the purple ametist stone on his head. Too bad he could not make it bounce on his head, because it was hard and would probably hurt a lot if he tried that (not that he had not tried). It did not matter though, rolling it up there was too much fun until...

It rolled away...

It simply fell off his head and rolled towards other people's pillows and though the Gryffindor boy jumped forward to catch it , the ametist was faster than him so he could only watch it dissappear among other pillows with sad eyes.

And now he was supposed to place all the stones on himself but how was he going to do it properly while he was one stone short? What could he do?



Then, in the search of a probable solution to his missing ametist stone rune problem, Josh looked up to ask the professor for another one but... But what if she'd get mad at him again? And this time he had lost one of her runes. *sigh* He had to find another way and the very moment he glanced at his right side, he saw that 'the another way' was pretty close to him.

Rose was lying there with her stones resting on their respective places on her face and throat and , to be frank, she did not look too happy with them. So, if she was not happy with them, he could... *grin* Yes, why not?

Leaning tıwards the Slytherin girl a little, The Gryffindor safely grabbed the rest of his tunes at first place then with a quick hand he snatched the ametist from Evelyn's head where it was placed. ''Since you do not look too happy with them, honey, i believe i can have it''
And right after this whispering, quickly but silently he began crawling away from the girl.

Alessia giggled, "No Miss Shepard, not yet anyway... and if you do you must have been stung by a billywig!"

"I'm glad you are having as much fun as I am, Master Pelican!" She said smiling.

"Good..." she said winking in her direction.

"You shouldn't be TRYING, it just happens, some people can't feel it at all..." Alessia said.

Raiden? She looked over at her prefect with concern.

Oh good... he was alright. She let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding and continued her class.

"Miss Materia, if you don't mind..." but she didn't bother asking, nor waiting for an answer. She levitated the child in the air above all the other students.

"Alright, we have stone 7, 6 and 5 in place..." She said making each stone glow as she pointed them out. Starting with the purple one a top her head. "As we said, the 7th chakra is located on the top of the head... in the pineal gland, it's actually almost in the exact center of your head at the level of your ears, then opens upward, at the top of your head." She made the glow lessen as she pointed out the one on her forehead.

"The 6th chakra is associated with the pituitary gland, which is a very small, shapeless organ about 1/8 inch in diameter located in the forehead about one finger sideways above the bridge of the nose between the eyebrows. This is where our higher mental powers are. You know how muggles say we all could move objects with our mind, we just don't use that part of our brains? Well this is where that part is." She giggled and made the next one glow.

"The 5th chakra is located between the depression in the neck and the larynx, for you boys, it's right behind the Adam's apple. It starts at the cervical vertebra and opens towards the front."

Now she levitated the next in the stones and placed it "The 4th chakra is mainly the center of our entire chakra system. It is located NOT in the center of the breast, but more to the left, where the heart cavity is. This dominates our emotional energy."

She levitate the next and placed that one on Lina. "The 3rd chakra is located about two fingers held sideways above your belly button. This focuses our astral energy... This is where we get our 'gut feelings,' you know?"

She levitated the next stone and placed it on the girl... "The 2nd chakra is located OVER the spleen. When we have a little too much energy here... we... release gas..." She said hoping little Miss Materia wasn't going to fart in front of the class during this excersize.

"The 1st chakra is located on your bottom... so you can sit on it." She said laughing. "This is where you try healing your chakra if you have restlessness,
lack of energy or feel selfish." She placed the last stone.

Alessia put down the girl and said "Thank you Miss Materia. Now class, can anyone tell me the history to why these are often mistaken for runes?"

ooc: There is no right answer... the history is all made up. Just have fun with your answer MAKE ONE UP. I have made up a history, but if I like your better I may use it. BE CREATIVE!

It was very strange to be floating there, and she tried to remain as still as she could. It felt a little like being a doll or a statue, really. Or maybe one of those show skeletons. Since the stones were already on her, she just stayed still from there as she thought. "Well, they look a little like rune stones, so that could be it. Or perhaps because there is a symbol for each chakra, and many don't remember that runes are specific, and count any symbols that seem strange or mystical as runes."

"Well, it could because of the mystical qualities of runesmay make people think since these chakra stones supposedly cause mystical activity within the body in terms of centering ones energy and the fact that chakra stones do look a lot like runes could warrent confusion", Herminny said after raising her hand high in the air.

Gold raised a hand. "Well, I think it's because not many people know exactly what a rune is, professor," she said, politely. "The stones can look like runes to someone who doesn't know the latter that well -" Yeah, she had been fooled too, for a moment, there. "-- though I think when you delve a little deeper, it becomes clear how much of a difference there is, between the two." These stones didn't help in predictions, or analyses.

"Plus, runes look like symbols carved into specific materials, and these stones are based off symbols too, so that similarity probably makes people think these are runes."

"It's possible that they were used for two separate yet connected purposes," Raiden mused aloud. He didn't know, but he could guess, right? "Perhaps people thought that putting the symbols on them would better enable them to discover which chakras were out of sorts. They could've cast them, and assumed that whichever came up a certain way were indicators that that particular chakra needed attention."

He didn't like laying down like this. His socks were visible to anyone who looked his way now, the kissyfaced Neptunes clearly seen on his wiggling toes.

"These particular crystal choices don't seem... well that ideal, though," he mumbled to himself, trying to think. He had read about this before, he had. But a ten year old mind didn't retain much of something that had proved pointless. Maybe the books were still in the house? Had mum taken them? Hmmm. He made a mental note to find out.

Why did people mistake these stones as runes? Well...look at them! "Because some people are dumb and don't know the difference between a stone or a rune." she mumbled, trying to get into a more comfortable position. Not that...she thought these stones were runes in the beginning of the class or anything.

Finally finding a nice spot, even though it was the exact same spot she was in before she starting moving around, she let out a small even breathe before feeling something touch the top of her head. Whaaaat? Out of instinct, her hand went to the top of her head only to find something missing. The purple stone! Opening her eyes, she heard someone whispering at how she didn't look happy with it anyways and...honey. Oh, well only one person called her honey.

Looking to the side, the other chakra stone on her forehead falling off, she raised a brow when she spotted Josh crawling away. And why did he need to steal HER chakra stone hmm?! Why couldn't he steal Destiny's? But...well this way it was one less stone to make her feel ridiculous! Aw, Josh was so nice for taking her stones. Maybe she could try to roll the others to him too...

Becca raised her hand and then put it down before putting it back up again, once she'd thought about her answer, "Maybe not many people have familiarised themselves with ancient runes, like with gypsies and stuff in the muggle world. It's different from 'the norm' and people are afraid of it." Becca said. "People tend to be afraid of things that are different and new." , she added sadly.

JC thought carefully then put her hand up. "Is it because of the appearence of the stones. When I saw my stones I mistoke them for runes because the runes I've looked at seem to have the same apperance?" she asked unsure.
