Alessia was tired. She was running on ONE hour's sleep. (ooc: Because *I* am - LOL) She had the bag of Witches' Runes that Tate found in his office in her hands... Where these the reason Reynard was gone? Did he not leave her? She scootched up on her desk and waited for the students to file in.
ooc: I am so sorry, I was going to start this yesterday, but I was on call and ended up working all night long (except from 2:30 to 3:30 AM - my one hour of sleep) I will keep this thread open for at least 72 hours.

After listening to the instructions, Reese pulled the cloth out of her bag and placed it on her desk. She stared at the white cloth as she thought about a good question she could come up with. Hmmmm. After minutes of thinking, a almost good question came to thought and she thought it was best to just stick with the question since she couldn't think of another question to ask.
She reached inside the back with her right hand (wand hand) and pulled out the 13 runes. Closing her eyes, she concentrated on her question, which was: 'Will Astronomy ever get Jack anywhere in life?'. This was a question she REALLY wanted to know. Not that it matter if Jack loved Astronomy, she just really wanted to know what it would help him with in life. It wasn't like he was going to NASA or anything. He was going to be a famous Quidditch Player! Quidditch Players don't use Astronomy as far as she knew.
She casted the dice, and then opened her eyes to see that every rune was facing down. EVERY RUNE WAS FACING DOWN. What did that mean, again? That the question shouldn't be answered? Greaaat.

Reason: I decided to do something a little bit different xD
Chris looked at the front of the room as Professor Lupa, told the class what they were going to be doing next. They were actually going to do a reading with the Witches runes? Chris thought hard for the question he was going to ask. He asked it to himself in his head 'Will I acheive my dream of becoming a warlock on the Wizeniagmont?'
He shook the runes in his right hand and concentrating as hard as he could on his question, he threw them onto the sheet. He watched as they fell and skidded to a stop some face up, some face down. This was intense.
He leaned over the runes to see which one was furthest. The Eye. He thought that this was right. He would use guidence and awareness in his worl for a judge in the future if he made it in that career. The next closest and only other upfacing rune was Man. This would represent his promise to work hard in his descions.
Chris practically beamed as he looked up from his reading. From his perspective it sure looked like he had good chances at making it. He looked around to see who else was finished. He smiled and waved at Reese who appeared to be finished. He then waited for the Professor to talk next.
"Alright..." She flourished her wand and summoned a bag of witches' runes on each of their desks. "There is a white silk casting cloth in each bag. Lay it down on your desk and come up with a question. Concentrate on the query or feeling you would like the runes to help with then take ALL 13 runes in you wand hand. Kellen stared at the runes in front of him, completely blanking on any questions he could ask. He didn't want to ask anything important, because Lupa had told them that the runes weren't the be all and end all and once he got one interpretation in his head it might bias his future actions. Asking a specific question was out as well, because there was no way these runes could definitively answer something so specific. That was unfortunate, because he'd been considering asking who drowned Ian's scorpion.
It didn't appear that very many people had thrown their runes yet, which he could only take to mean that they were as uncertain of their question as he was. Great. He realized he was fiddling with one of the runes and glanced down at it; the romance rune. Almost like he'd been stung, he released the rune and let it hit the table with a faint click.
"Oh, why not?" he muttered, spreading the white cloth and gathering the runes into his right hand. He shook the runes around and gave them a toss, thinking in his head 'Will I stay a bachelor for life?' He turned his head away as the runes skittered across the cloth, and he looked back when they'd come to a stop:
SPOILER!!: Kellen's Runes
He glared at the Woman rune for a second before rolling his shoulders and settling in for a reading. Truthfully, he'd hoped that particular rune would land upside down.
So his lead rune was Flight, which was promising. That meant freedom, which he was always a fan of. Urgh, but the Rings were in the middle of the cloth, and the Scythe was... okay, take it step by step. He pulled out a piece of parchment and wrote down his findings.
SPOILER!!: Kellen's Notes
1. Lead rune is Flight, symbolizing freedom or running. Fear of commitment?
2. The Man rune is as far away from the Woman rune as it can be.
3. Romance is next to the Woman rune, while Crossroads are next to the Man rune.
4. The Rings are in the middle.
5. Scythe is next to Rings, and between Woman and Flight.
6. Man rune close to Flight rune.
Eventually he came up with a probable situation. Assuming the Man rune represented himself and the Woman rune represented whoever had the bad luck of falling in love with him, she would approach the relationship with love and desire and he'd be conflicted about it. Also, with the Crossroads sitting between the Man and Flight, he could quite possibly do a runner and opt for freedom instead. The Scythe certainly seemed to suggest that getting married would put an end to freedom.
He tilted his head; either that, or the Woman could either love and marry him or try to be free and die? Urgh, that didn't seem particularly healthy.
And Professor Lupa wanted to know his findings? He shrugged and raised his hand, "Professor, it looks like I don't have a very carefree love life ahead of me."

Looking down at the little bag that now lay in front of her on the table, she raised a brow and glanced at Destiny for a moment. So, they had to roll the dice on the white cloth? And think of a question thing. Okay, so that was easy enough.
Smiling just barely, Evelyn opened the bag and took out the white cloth, unfolding it and laying it gently and smoothly on her desk while trying to think of a question. Okay, so maybe it was a little harder than she thought. What kind of question should she ask? Or maybe that should be her question...
Finally thinking of one, a little curious as to what the answer would be, she took out the 13 runes from the bag and placed them in her right hand. Or at least tried to. All the runes didn't fit in her hand and some of the m kept falling onto the table. DANG! Small hand...stupid slow growing and young age! Frowning, concentrating making sure that she got every last rune to stay in her right hand, she thought of the question for a moment before rolling them on the table like dice. 'Will I be a good wand maker?'
AAaaannndd...she got...a few that were face up! That was good. Right? So, the Professor said the farthest one away face up was the most important one. And that was The Scythe. REALLY!? Just...really...why must she get that one. Really...
A little put out now since it was obvious that she was not going to become a wand maker, she looked at the next one just out of curiosity to see what else she had. The Crossroads. Oh joy... Then the next one that came was the Eye, which wasn't so bad, and the one after that and the most closest to her was the Star. 'From horrible, to amazing. Definitely, should not be a wand maker.' she thought, starring blankly at the runes that lay in front of her. Maybe she should have asked if she would become a good dragon keeper? Oh wait, pfft. She didn't need to ask that. Of course she would be a good dragon keeper...
Sighing, she wrote down what she had into her notebook, laying her head down on the desk as she wrote.
SPOILER!!: AR notes
Will I become a good wand maker?
Scythe - Farthest
Crossroads (closest to Scythe)
Eye (closest to Star)
Star - Closest
Super Slytherin Buddy || ⅓ She-Snake Trio || 'I taste like chocolate and potatoes'
Huh? So now they had to ask a question. Destiny knew the question already, for she had asked it in every class that they needed a question too.
After smiling at Evelyn, because she probably knew the question she was going to ask, Destiny laid the cloth on the table. After placing each rune in her hand, one by one so they all fit, she shook her hand a little, because that is how she played dice, and cast the runes on the table.
At least three of the runes were face up, that was a good sign..so far. So the rune that was the farthest away was.. Flight. Oh. Hopefully she could run fast.
The next rune was..The Eye. Ehh, that was a creepy looking rune. No matter where Destiny moved the rune, it was still looking at her.
The last runes that was facing up was The Scythe. This runes wasn't creepy, even though it meant death. It looked like a pirates hook, and pirates did not scare Destiny.
Destiny wrote her question and the runes she drew on a piece of parchment.
SPOILER!!: Destiny's runes
The Question - Am I doomed to be a Healer!?
Rune 1 - Flight
Rune 2 - The Star
Rune 3 - The Scythe
And now she had to find the answer. After looking at the meanings of the runes she drew she frowned. Gahhh!
SPOILER!!: The meanings
Rune 1 - Flight - Running away from becoming a Healer.
Rune 2 - The Star - Accepting that I will be a Healer.
Rune 3 - The Scythe - Being a Healer until I die.
Giving a little gasp of happiness as the bag appeared on her desk, Wesley giggled. Two years later and Professor Lupa still caught her off guard with all the little gifts.
Tentatively, she opened the bag, tipping the runes into her hand. Setting the empty pouch beside her notes, Wesley clasped her hands together. Closing her eyes, nose scrunched up, she thought, Will the next DADA lesson be about another Unforgivable Curse? Whispering a couple 'Pretty Please No''s under her breath for good luck, the Hufflepuff shook the stones with energy.
Once satisfied, she tossed them up, perhaps a little too forcefully, and winced as several landed on her head and others rolled off her desk onto the floor. "Sorry!" Wesley apologized quickly in one high, clear note, before sliding out of her seat and scrambling under the table for the runaway runes.
A little out of breath, the Hufflepuff settled back into her seat, setting the three fallen stones next to the bag in the position they had been on the floor, with only the sun facing upward. Then, analyzing the others, she scratched out a list.
SPOILER!!: runes
Quote:
Lead Rune: Sun
Eye
Harvest
Woman
Romance
Slightly disappointed such a small number of runes were facing up, Wesley bit her lip and attempted to make a statement. The sun seemed to be saying no, they would no longer be learning dark curses but something happier instead. Something about, Wesley looked at her notes on the Eye, understanding stuff. Lots of stuff. Stuff about wands and being nice.
Right, this was looking good. Feeling confident, the Hufflepuff glanced at her last rune. Romance.
"Oh!"
Getting excited, Wesley started writing her answer.
Quote:
No. We're going to learn about counters to the Unforgivable Curses. Like love and that one fancy wand bind thing.
Wiggling in her seat, Wesley was having a hard time stomaching her happiness and pride. She was so smart. Really, really, really smart. How else could she have remembered her DADA homework?

Mina listened carefully to all Professor Lupa had to say and continued to jot down the meanings of the runes. There were so many things to remember, but she wasn't discouraged at the least.
Seeing the bag on her desk, she reached for it and pulled out the white silk cloth. It was so silky to her touch. Laying it out before her, she reached back into the bag for the runes. Taking them out one at a time and looking at each before setting them down before her.
She just needed a question though. Running have finger over the symbols on the stones before her, she thought about what she could ask and what she would like to ask. Questions were always the hardest part for her it seemed.
Should would always ask a question about someone else, like she usually did when a question was asked for, yet maybe it was time she asked one for herself. 'Will this year be as fruitful as last year for me?' she thought to herself. It was vague, but she did have to start some where.
Gathering all the runes in her right hand, she thought intensely about her question and threw them across the silk cloth. Watching them slide over the silky surface, she let out her breath. She didn't even realize she was holding her breath. Seeing the runes come to stop, she leaned over to see what she actually threw.
This was a good sign, some of them were faced up and others were faced down. Maybe she had a good throw after all. Now to what was faced up. Wave, Romance, The Crossroads, Flight, The Scythe Pulling out her quill, she started to work looking to see which one was the furthest from her.
Waves, yes that one was the furthest from her. Looking to her notes, she tilted her head in thought again. Turmoil and struggles. Okay so was her year going to be a struggle for her? Well that was different than last year for sure. Romance? Now that was interesting. Heartbreak and relationship, that could make sense too. The Crossroads, more struggles and change it looked like. She really wasn't liking all she was finding at the moment. Biting her lip, she moved on to the next rune. Flight. That one couldn't be all that bad. Freedom, change, transition. Okay, that wasn't all that bad but the one next to it bothered her, The Scythe. What kind of end did it mean though. She's had to look into that later.
Resting her head on her hand, she tried to figure out what it all meant. So change was to be expected as was some struggles and possible heartbreak. Maybe an end of a relationship or something. She was kind of confused, but she wrote everything down anyway and looked up to see how everyone else was doing.
Sabel let out a heavy sigh and looked down at the bag. He thought he had heard her say that all thirteen runes were rare. Why then was each student given a bag. Frowning he reached out and pryed it open, peering within. Then again, he doubted they were hard to make, just perhaps not very common.
Shaking his head he decided it was best he try the activity and not sit there looking so phased out. Emptying the contents of the pouch into his hand he peered at each stone, flipping them over with his thumb. He had no idea what question to ask, or what answer he would end up reading. Interpretation seemed rather subjective and biased upon personal opinion and perception.
A small smile touched his lips when he heard Kellen's vocalization of his rune's interpretation of his future love life. Personally not willing to risk an answer on that question, he closed his fist and shook the stones, finding it a little difficult with thirteen of them in one hand.
"Alrighty then. Will I ever get a sense of coordination?" Simple question. Harmless answer. He let the runes go gently on his desk. Well, they were supposed to be on his desk.
Instead the stones skittered this way and that, across the surface of his table to those beside him. Some jumped into his lap and clattered to the ground behind him while about four launched off the front of his desk and skittered randomly about the room. It was the strangest display he had ever seen and the most blantant denial of phsyics. What had started out as a gentle roll turned into a obnoxious rattle of stone all over the room. Not only that, but few actually landed face up or down. More than half stood on their sides or rested against shoes and backpacks at strange angles.
His first course of action; drop head on desk. Hard. After that he slowly peeled his forehead from the wood and peered at the runes he could see. The Sun, Sycthe, and Harvest were all upside down. The Rings, Woman, Man, the Star and the Eye were all at strange angles, as if they couldn't decide what they thought of him. Romance was closest, sitting at his feet, peering up at him with what he could only interpret as a mocking tone. Yes, you desire to have a proper sense of balance, but tough luck kiddo, it seemed to say. He wanted to step on it.
The Moon, Flight and Crossroads were scattered at random intervals in front and behind him, seeming to say that his footing habits were always changing and unpredicatable. And then there was Waves, sitting at the head of it all, at the front of the room, mocking him in much the same way as the Romance rune had done. An everyday struggle of constant motion.
He let out a soft sigh and stood, doing the runes justice on their reading as he stepped on his shoelace. A small yelp escaped him as his arms flailed for a moment as if to try and gain him some stability, before he collapsed on his rear. It seemed only fitting to sit there for a moment and let the stones rejoice at their accurate prediction before he began gathering them up. At least, the waves also represented rebirth. Maybe there was hope for him yet.

Jenny was glad she answered. So she had no need to find Tate! Yes! Score! Jenny focused on work now. She was still Hogwarts' one-and-only half spy. She did as she was told. She asked a question: What will I be when I am an adult? She didn't know. She was only 11. She cast the runes out. The face-up were (IN ORDER left to right) the: Scythe, Star, Rings, Waves, Eye and Crossroads. Maybe it meant "You will end your hope in the join of struggle and surveillance, but the decision will be tough." What? Translated, it means, you will lose all hope when difficulty and protection combine, and your future decision is going to be hard. That's good. Well, not really. "Professor L-L-Lupa?" She said. Can she ask for her to come over? It was personal. "I-I need your h-h-help." She shivered. It must have been 1 degrees celcius in there.
Lenalee wasn't sure exactly what to ask. 'Maybe I should ask the runes what question I should ask,' She thought with wry amusement, 'Or not, that'd probably just confuse them.' She held the bag lightly and tried to feel what she wanted to know most. She opened her eyes, the colors around the room stopped swirling. "Where do I belong, am I good or evil?" She cast the runes and watched as a few lay face up. The Crossroads, The Harvest, Woman, and The Moon. It certainly was visually evocative. 'But what do they mean together? That I'm always going to be forced to ask myself what side I'm on... That's depressing. I guess the main point is I'll reap what I sow.' She nodded affirmatively and touched the Harvest rune with apprehension. It made her feel slightly dizzy. "That sounds about right." She said without realizing she was speaking out loud.
Yay, Hamlet! • Cathopper • Disney Fanatic • I was normal once...
Reese just continued to stare at the runes. She guessed that Jack's love for Astronomy didn't need an explanation unless... "Professor," she called out after she raised her hand. "Is it normal for the runes to all face downward if your question is about some else instead of yourself?"
As she waited for Professor Lupa to answer her question, she picked all her runes back up and held them in her hand. She might as well do it again, so at least she would have a reading instead of nothing. Though, if she was going to do it again, she needed a new question. She thought long and hard for a new question until one came to mind: 'What will happen after I become a singer?'
She closed her eyes, then she rolled the runes, then she opened her eyes again. There were 4 runes facing upward and they were: The Sun, The Crossroads, The Star, and the Romance one. The one that was furthest away from her was The Sun, so that one was the most important one.
Sighing, she stared at the runes in front of her, trying to understand what they mean. "I think this means that I will be very happy with my career choice, but I'm probably going to struggle at first. Ummm, I will have good income and, er, I will love what I do," she said. That sounded about right.

Jack already knew which question he was going to ask. He wanted to know about his future--more specifically, future career. He needed to know about Quidditch!
Will I be a successful quidditch player? he thought in his mind, holding the runes in his hand before tossing them over the white cloth. To his surprise most of them remained face down, except for two...The Sun and The Scythe.
Wow. Talk about a contradiction.
"According to these runes, I WILL be a successful Quidditch player except...someone is going to die? Or something is going to come to an abrupt end?" he wondered aloud. "OH NO! What if I get horribly injured during a game and my career is ruined?! Maybe I'm doing awesome for a while, becoming well known--maybe even getting a Chocolate Frog Card in my honor--when I crash while trying to get the snitch and break my arm so severely I can't play anymore?"
To be honest, considering that the Scythe meant DEATH, he REALLY hoped that his version of his future would be how things played out.

Becca thought for a second before deciding on the topic that she would cast the runes to ask. 'Will I be happy and successful in the future?' Taking all of the stones in her hand, Becca shook them up a bit, blew on them(for good luck, of course) and then let them work their magic.
The Star, Waves, Crossroads, Man, Scythe and Sun came up.
Well what was that supposed to mean? The Sun is furthest from me... Becca checked her notes and immediately wished she hadn't picked this question, due to all of the misfortune it predicted. Trying to make sense of it all, Becca said aloud, "So, I will be happy in the end, but will struggle to make the right decision and put an end to something. Maybe if I'm lonely, the end to a bad relationship with a friend?" Becca doubted herself and then raised her hand, "Eh, Professor Lupa, can I ask what you make of my runes? I-I'm not quite sure if I really know what they mean."

Marie opened the bag of runes careful not to drop any of them as she took the white cloth out of the bag. Laying the cloth out on her desk she tried to think of a good question. Finally she thought of a good one, she just wan't sure if she wanted to nkow the answer.
Grabbing all 13 of the runes in her right hand she tossed them onto the white cloth as she asked Will I be friends with Kay again this year?. Looking down at the cloth there are only four runes that are face up. Marie gulped as she looked at them. They were The Skythe, Crossroads, Waves and Flight.
SPOILER!!: Marie's Runes
Skythe-Death, an end to something. Crossroads- Struggle, change, choices, decisions, arguments Waves- Struggle, difficulty, problems, turmoil, angst, new life, rebirth, motion Flight- Runing, escape, freedom, change, abandonment, transition, endless, messages

Sidney takes out the cloth and runes. She places the cloth on her desk and takes all thirteen runes in her right hand. Being right handed, Sidney hold her wand in this hand. She lets the runes run around in her shaking hand. What question would I like an answer for? I know. You runes have been hidden in Headmaster Tate's office. You above all others should understand the danger Hogwarts has been in. Will the problems from last term haunt us this term? Sidney lets go of the runes. They land on the cloth. Every rune being face down. You're as secretive as Headmaster Tate. I can see I'm not going to get an answer to my question. I'll just have to settle for a simplier question. Sidney picks the runes up again. She shakes them in her right hand. Since before receiving my letter from Hogwarts, I've been afraid that I would not be able to make the grade here. My question is this: will I pass my courses this term? Sidney closes her eyes and lets the runes fall out of her open hand and onto the white cloth. She looks down. Of the thirteen runes only six fall face side up. The farthest away is the Crossroads. The closest to Sidney is the The Sun. There order is as follows.
1. Crossroads
2. The Harvest
3. Woman
4. The Moon
5. Waves
6. The Sun
Meanings
1. I will have to decide what my goals are concerning my classes.
2. I have within me to do well. I will need to find the strength to over come my doubts and fears.
3. I will find someone at Hogwarts who will nurture and support me in my journey.
4. My future is uncertain and ever changing.
5. There will be struggles and and changes during this term. Nothing is certain.
6. There is every possibility I will achieve my goals. I will need to keep my nose the grindstone and steer a straight course. I must never loose sight of my goals. My future is up to me.
Thinking of what to ask, many different things went though her head. Some of them were to personal and some seemed to be to easy. She thought for a minutes before coming up with the question she need. She picked up the Runes and held them in her wand hand. Thinking of her question. "Will I be happy with Rex?" She really wanted to know, as she thought of Kevin. She throw the Runes. 'Well this is going to be easy, and hard at the same time.' The while Rune that was facing up was the Crossroad. Crossroads was about Struggle, Change, Choices, Decisions, and Arguments. 'Well that's helpful.' Kay thought about what it could mean. Did it mean that her and Rex would be fighting? 'No, that can't be it. Rex was to nice to fight with a girl.'"I believe that the crossroads mean that I will have many choices in this relationship and may have alot of change in my life." She said to the Professor. "But, Professor its hard to really know when I only have the one Rune." Kay wrote everything on her parchment and still didn't think she was doing it the right way. Maybe she should do a different question or throw the runes again. Hopefully the Professor would help her.
Cast them as if they were dice. You will only read the ones that will fall face up. The one farthest from you is you lead rune. The MOST important. If all your runes get cast face down, the question was not one that should be answered." She said. "Do your best in answering the question with the rune results. Remember, I don't teach divination, don't think this is the end all be all, your future is up to you to decide." She sat at her desk and said "Begin, and then let me know your findings."
Ooooh.
This actually sounded like fun stuff. Gold grinned at the bag on her desk, then opened it and peeked inside. There it was, the pretty silk casting. She laid it down, spread it over her desk, then closed her eyes, and began to think of a question.
It didn't surprise her when it decided to be one related to Dylan.
What lies for us, in the future?
She grabbed all thirteen runes, felt their strange, rather cold warmth under her fingers, then let go of them, the way she would let go of a die. They rolled away from her, then came to a still. Most of them were, to her surprise, face down. Most -- but not all.
Quote:
RUNES!
[] Waves.
[] The Crossroads.
[] The Harvest.
[] The Rings.
Gold blinked, then glanced at the Rings, the rune that was farthest off from her. She felt like a moment of silence, like something she could not explain, and then she picked up parchment, and began to scribble what she thought, down.
Quote:
_My Interpretation_
Things between us are going to change, with time. There will be difficulties we can not escape from, points where we will have to make decisions we may not like, or be comfortable with.
Since the Harvest represents both a beginning and an end, a contradiction of sorts, maybe we will be really indecisive about where we want to go, with our relationship. There might be a break-up, and a reunion. We will probably have to see where our priorities lie, what's more important.
But at the end of the spectrum, there IS the chance of union. The Lead Rune, in this case, were the Rings, so I would say that there is a big chance of commitment, and a happy future.
She frowned a little, placed her quill on her desk, and raised her hand. She had to show this to Professor Lupa, right?
"Professor?"

Reason: Grammar and spacing. ^_^
Evelyn had been having fun discussing the meanings of the runes, but actually using them? No one in her family really like magic that tried to predict the future. It always caused problems for them.
Just don't take any of it too seriously. You know it's all wishy-washy.
Evelyn knew exactly what she wanted to know. Her dream at the lake had been bothering her all week, the beautiful dream that had turned into a horrible one when the giant squid had pulled her beneath the surface of the lake, ignoring her struggles.
She balanced the stones one by one in her right hand...
"What does my dream mean? she whispered ever so quietly.
...and threw them on the cloth.
Five of the stones were facing upwards. She froze when she saw the rune furthest away on the cloth. THE SCYTHE!! So I really am going to be murdered by the gentle giant squid!!
Evelyn wrote down the order of the runes, so she could try and figure them all out:
SPOILER!!: List
Scythe
Crossroads
Harvest
Star
Sun
Evelyn looked at the rest of them, and felt a little relieved, even smiling. Two of the runes, Sun and Star, related to the future, so that meant she had one! She wasn't going to die anytime soon! So what could the scythe mean then? The scythe also meant something coming to an end. That didn't have to be bad. Through her constantly changing life, she knew that things coming to an end wasn't always a terrible thing.
SPOILER!!: Meaning
From reading my rune stones, I think my dream is telling me that something in my life is coming to an end, that I will be pulled away from comfort into something dark and scary. Things will change, and I will have to make some tough choices, but it will make me grow as a person. But I will see hope again, have new dreams for the future, and that future will be good.
Wow. That sounds pretty full on. But Evelyn shook her head, as if shaking away the thoughts. Like she had thought before, divination is wishy-washy. The stones could have had any number of meanings. Not everything in life has to be so dramatic as what her meaning had described.
She raised her hand, "Professor Lupa, can we ask another question?"
""Alright..." She flourished her wand and summoned a bag of witches' runes on each of their desks. "There is a white silk casting cloth in each bag. Lay it down on your desk and come up with a question. Concentrate on the query or feeling you would like the runes to help with then take ALL 13 runes in you wand hand. Cast them as if they were dice. You will only read the ones that will fall face up. The one farthest from you is you lead rune. The MOST important. ooc: HAVE FUN WITH THIS! There is no right or wrong.
Hmmm. Questions. Questiionsss. WHAT QUESTION THOUGH?!!?! Lucille thought and chewed the end of her quill for a moment - ewww!! Bad idea. Feathers were definatly NOT for the mouth. That was just WRONG.
But she had an idea!! YAYY!!
She picked up the runey thinggies in her wand hand and rattled them about. Teehee. Funny noise. CONCENTRATE LUCILLE!!
She closed her eyes tight and concentrated on her question. The question that was of life-changing importance, that would complete her, settle her wandring soul and improve life as she knew it!!
What colour nail varnish should i wear tomorrow? What colour nail varnish should i wear tomorrow? What colour nail varnish should i wear tomorrow?
She cast the runes and opened her eyes....
Ok, maybe she had cast them a little hard, seeing as the majority were scattered on the floorrrrr..... Ooops. Well, we'll just ignor those ones.
Right. Runes that were STILL on the table. Lucille squinted at them.
Waves:
Struggle, difficulty, problems. Well, that was fairly obvious. It was a STRUGGLE chosing nail varnish and she was having DIFFICULTY with it, which caused a bit of a PROBLEM. Yes, yes. All well and good an the rune front so farr.
Lucille glanced at the rune furthist away from her. This would have to be the seciding factor, cos according to the teacher lady, it was the most important.
Moon:
Which meant changing and stuff..
Well, Lucille had NO idea what that meant, but maybe, JUST MAYBE she was reading them too much!! Lucille looked at the rune. It was a moon, right? And moons came out in night time, yess?? Yes. And night time was dark, sometimes with little sparkly starts in it, yess??. Thereforeeee the nail varnish she must wear was.... SPARKLY BLACK!!!!
YAYYYYY!!!
"Professor!!" She cried. "I did it i did it!!!"

What should I do after class? What should I do after class? What should I do after class?
Nicoletta cast the dice the Professor had handed her. What should I do after class? What should I do after class? What should I do after class?
"Let's see, the man, the star, the crossroads and..... th-the scythe?!" Nicoletta asked herself in shock. Its just a couple of rocks, just a couple of rocks. she thought.
"Okay, so it looks like the man means somethings going to happen to someone more in charge of my family," Matt?! "And I guess the scythe means that person's going to die. So I'll have to make some choices for my family and... and the star means I'll be getting the most attention. So I guess the answer to my question is... I should go send a letter to mum after class to see if Matt's alright."
To Nicoletta, it seemed pretty 'out there' and they were just stones after all...... Weren't they?
Bella looked down at the bag of runes that had appearred on her table, she sat listening to the instructions the class was given.
Slowly opening the bag she layed the cloth over her desk, She felt the white silk, it was very soft. Next she dug into the bag again and took out the runes. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six, Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten. Eleven. Twelve and Thirteen. She counted as she placed them on the silk.
She closed the bag and put it to one said before picking up all thirteen runes in her wand hand and closing her eyes and thought of a question.
"Will i make any new friends this term?" She whispered, thinking from the top of her head. Counting to three and threw the stones onto the silk.
Opwning her eyes she looked at all the runes face up, only five. The sun, Romance, Women, The Eye, and Flight. The Eye was furthest away from her, and Romance was closest to her. SHe picked up both these runes and looked up there meaning's in her book.
Romance seemed to be a good sign for her, signing friendship. Looking up the meaning for The Eye, her most important rune, she concluded that both runes together meant a good sign, she sighed and smiled.
"Is this right Professor?" She asked, looking down at the othe three runes.
Barry sighed. Well this would be sooooo interesting. Yeah he really believed in Divination and that you could tell the unseen. It just didn`t make sense and went against everything. You could guess but you can`t know.
Barry thought of his question How will this term end?. Then he threw his runes over the table and examined what was there.
The Scythe. Well obviously, it meant that it was the end of his hogwarts career. But Barry was not so sure after he saw some of the other runes.
Flight. He thought about it. He was escaping from hogwarts. But more then that he thought about the year that he planned ahead for himself. He was escaping from his life to a free life exploring.
Crossroads He didn`t get this one. He already knew that he had change coming but he saw something more in this one. The arguments. He really didn`t like how that looked. Who would he argue with.
But Barry shrugged off his negative feeling and said distractedley "Miss, I finished"
Asking questions? Evan pursed his lips, though it was only for a tiny moment. He knew what to ask: he'd ask about football.
Gathering all the stones in both of his hands, he thought 'Do I have a future in football?' and let the stones roll.
The sequence of the stones that were face-up from the closest to him to the furthest was the star, the romance, the man and the flight. So that meant the flight was the first one right? Okay. Checking from the notes he had taken, he started writing his interpretation.
Quote:

The man: I'll be powerful, strong, brave and energetic. Well I'll need them.
The romance: I'll feel passion but I'll live through a heartbreak. I think this is for football, but I'm not sure if it means a woman.
The star: At the end, I'll shine in this profession and I'll make a lot of money and well as I'll have achieved personal glory, my dreams and my ideals.
He reread what he had written. Wait, this meant success! OHMIGOSH! He had a future in football, his passion! Though he wasn't so quick to get all of his hopes up. He knew he had failed and he raised his hand. Professor could always correct him, right? And he was sure Professor Lupa would like to correct him if he was wrong, which was probably the case.
Jacklyn Caroline listens intensly trying to figure out what she is supposed to be doing at the moment.

Finally getting it she rolls the stones. Getting from farthest to closest, the star, the sun, woman, romance, the rings, crossroads. "Hmm," she says, "the most important thing is the star which means guidance, center, fulfillment, shininess, loneliness, hope, the future, money, personal glory, dreams and ideals for me." Happy with her self.
