Lorcan jumped at the sound of his own name. He span around and saw Kylie. "Oh hello! I didn't notice you come in, you gave me a shock." He gave her a wide smile.

He looked back at his barn owl. "Come down now please Athena, Kylie would like to meet you." The owl hooted and flew down, perching on the window sill.

"She loves attention, especially from girls." He stroked the owl gently on the head. "I'm glad I bumped into you. I wanted to ask you something."

Kylie giggled, it had always appeared to her that animals have liked her more than people have. She pet the beautiful owl on the head softly, running her fingers through Athena's feathers. "Yes? What is it?" Kylie urged the conversation forward.

Lorcan blinked and then said, "Well, I was a bit worried about Kay actually, she seemed to be angry with me. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to have done this time. I just don't want any trouble."

He bit his lip, wondering how to ask he what he really wanted to ask her.

Kylie felt like he was lying.. but she ignored it. "Oh. She's fine, she's getting better now, if you ask me. She's starting to, like, come at peace with everything." Kylie gave Lorcan a little bit of a smirk, not flirty, but more.. 'I'm on to you".

"Now what did you really want to ask me?" she laughed quietly.

Lorcan frowned again. "Are you sure? Did she tell you... about her mum and dad?" Lorcan wouldn't break Kay's in trust him, but he was still worried about her.

He laughed. "Am I that obvious?" Stalling for time, he attached his letter to Athena's leg. She can take your letter to, if you want. She's not had good long journey in ages."

Kylie looked up at Lorcan, her jewel-green eyes conveying utter honesty in her words. "She told me. And don't worry about it, I've already sent my letters." Recalling the beautiful owl she'd sent letter's to her grandmother, brother, and parents.
"Now quit stalling. What are you really so nervous to ask me about?"

Lorcan blushed. "There's no kidding you is there?"

He let Athena fly off and then turned back to Kylie, pulling a bracelet out of his pocket. "I wanted to ask you, do you think Lexi will like it?"

He blushed deeply. It had been easy to buy chocolates for her, but this was different.

Kylie abruptly took in breath quickly, it was beautiful. "It's gorgeous." She suddenly ached a bit for her own bracelet.. and Nate's mother's that had only lately been removed from her wrist. "If she doesn't love it, she's insane." Kylie was personally more into the whole classic look.. generally silver and another color. But this bracelet was truly beautiful. "Really. She'll love it." Kylie was slightly relieved, she thought Lorcan was going to bring up Nate.

Lorcan smiled at Kylie's reaction. "Really? It's rose quartz, that's supposed to draw good feels towards you. And she loves pink. I turned her hair pink once..." he frowned suddenly "She uh, she didn't like that too much." He was remembering a stinging hex and a sprained wrist.

"How's Nate?" He asked innocently.

Nicoletta spotted her owl Demitri, sitting quietly. He hooted as she neared. Nicoletta searched in her bag for a treat and handed him some bread. He took it. She stroked his soft black feathers as he hooted softly. she gave him a hug and sat down to watch him. Her cat, pumpkin, had come up with her. she watched them interact. Over the months she had been at school, the owl and the cat had gotten better around each other.

Kylie's face turned up into a grin, Alexandra honestly sounded like a feisty person. When Lorcan mentioned Nate, her grin disapeared. "He dumped me." Kylie said plainly, keeping the pained emotions inside. "Not long ago."

Lorcan was filled with concern. "Oh Kylie, I'm sorry. I didn't know. He must be stupid." He shoved the bracelet back into his pocket and rubbed her arm in what he hoped was a comforting way.

Kylie sighed. "It's okay. He thought too little of me anyway. Right after he did it and I turned to walk away with every intention of crying, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me into a hug saying it was 'okay to cry'. Obviously, I was offended. It is an offensive thing! I haven't cried, it feels like if I do I'm giving in to him. He's not worth it." She concluded. No one was getting the best of her, no one.

Lorcan frowned and continued to rub Kylie's arm. "He really is an idiot. The way that he was rubbing that other girl's shoulders wasn't right. Lexi would hexed me into the middle of next month for that. If you want to cry, you should cry though. It lets all the toxic bits out, my mum says." He smiled sadly. "D'you need a hug?"

"Nahh. I don't want to, it's almost like giving him the satisfaction of knowing he can hurt me, which he can't." Kylie smiled, a real smile. "She seems like the type that would do that." Kylie looked down, she would love a hug just to know she's not alone.. but the fact was, Alexandra really would attack her and hate her for it-even under the circumstances. "I think I'm okay." Kylie would just have to find Carter later for a hug.

"The worst part is the total feeling of.. loneliness, rejection. Not that he did it. Just those feelings.." Against her will, a single tear slid down her cheek. Not a tear for Nate, not a tear for Nate at all. A tear for those emotions that invaded her usually pure heart.

Lorcan nodded when she said that Lexi seemed to be that type. "She's a softie underneath" He told her smiling, "But don't tell her that I said that. She likes you."

When a tear slid down her cheek, he frowned again. Fishing a handkerchief out of his pocket, he passed her it and then patted her on the back. After a few seconds, he couldn't stop himself, he pulled her into hug whispering "It's ok you know, he's a git and he doesn't deserve someone as fab as you."

After the tear was gone and Kylie had been scooped into a hug, she couldn't help but shaking with laughter. "Did you just say FAB?" She bellowed. Her shoulders shook gently with a weak laughter. That's what she was, weak, beaten. "I ran into him in Hogsmeade, there was a huge fight."

OCC: I don't know what's goign to happen in the fight, it's actually happening now... =D

Lorcan frowned when she laughed at him. "What's wrong with fab? Brilliant then, you're brilliant and he's an idiot." He was glad he's made her laugh, but he was a bit miffed it was at his expense.

When she said fight, his imagination went into overdrive. He looked at her in alarm, "A fight? You mean you had a duel? In the middle of Hogsmeade?"

Kylie chuckled a bit more, "Not a duel. It came close though, I almost used a hex that would knock him out for over a year."

Oh. Whoops. Kylie realized that Lorcan didn't know she was that far ahead in her studies, well.. cat's out of the bag now.

Lorcan was impressed. "Wow! Did you learn at home? What did he say to you?" Lorcan was becoming increasingly annoyed with Nate. How could he do this to Kylie.

"My grandmothers a filthy lunatic and is super paranoid, she started shoving a ton of spells and books and all this other stuff down my throat as soon as she realized I was a witch when I was eight. I don't know.. a lot of stuff.. that I was immature.. crazy.. a git... jealous.. all this stuff that isn't true." Kylie said, her shoulders weighed down a bit.

Lorcan frowned again. "She sounds a bit like my grandmother, only my dragon lady is a muggle." He said quietly. "She made me go to a muggle school even though she knew I was a wizard."

His pulse quickened when he heard what Nate had said. Anger flashed in his hazel eyes. "How dare he say that about you? How dare he?"

Kylie shrugged, "My parents made me go to muggle school too, that's why I could only go to my grandmother's on the weekends." She paused, reflecting on what she was about to say, "That's what I was thinking too." She said quietly, staring at the floor. Dragging her foot along the floor drawing different shapes with her toes.

Lorcan watched her drawing shapes in the crushed straw that covered the floor of the owlery. "Rubbish, wasn't it? Did they call you a freak too?"

He rubbed her back again, sure that she was avoiding his gaze because tears were welling up in her beautiful green eyes.

Alexandra tromped up the stairs leading to the owlery and was quite surprised at what she saw when she reached the entrance. She stood there blinking a few times trying to figure out if she was seeing things or if it was really happening. Seeing Kylie and Lorcan together in the owlery in what seemed to be a private conversation sent her blood to boiling point.

SHe took one step into the owlery and cleared her throat before saying, "Well, I apologize for interrupting. I simply came to find my owl." She gave the two of them a once over before looking to Lorcan with narrowed eyes. Alexandra then turned on her heel and began to stomp away.
