"I think we might be ready." Kay said looking at the plank. She went over the spell in her head. Deprimo,Deprimo,Deprimo...Yes she was ready to try. "Marie you can go first if you'd like." Kay said

Alexandra looked dejected. "You, umm, you go first." he said, smiling at her

Evelyn's raised her eyebrows when she saw a hole appear in the plank. "Wow, nice." she said to Destiny, giving her a thumbs up and smile.

'She's really good.' she thought, stepping up next to her, feeling slightly out of balance. 'Not as good as you though.' the voice said, almost as if it wanted Evelyn to believe it. 'You're being nice to me. Why?' she demanded in return, lifting up her wand. 'What? It's the truth.' She could almost feel the voice shrug it's shoulders...if it had shoulders. 'She's just as good as me. No one is better than the other...You remember DADA class. She was great, got everything on the first try like i did.'

She must have been standing there for at least a minute, wand still raised, looking like an idiot not doing anything. Snapping out of her thoughts, she glanced to Destiny. "Sorry. I guess i was thinking about...p-pie." she blurted out, saying the first thing that came to mind. "Deprimo." she said softly, turning back to the plank just as she made the 'chopping' movement with her wand. Another hole appeared on the plank, right next to Destiny's like Evelyn intended it to.

Alexandra nodded and drew in a deep breath. She could do this! She had done more complicated magic at home... "Okay.. Deprimo" she said clearly asnd confidently and brought her wand down in the directed chopping motion. She was plesantly surprised and relieved when the hole appeared in the board... and not somewhere else!
SHe clapped her hands together and squealed. Looking at Lorcan she beamed and said, "Now you go! Remeber to be confident. You have done great so far."

Audio first began to practice saying the spell before he picked up his wand, forcing himself to think of daisys or something just so he didn't accidently blast one of these first years hands off... you know, just in case.
He started the karate chop motion, laughing a bit, "I feel dumb." he mumbled to his little group.

When he was done practicing and the professor said to try it for real, he looked over to the girls- "Ladies first."

Turning to her partners, Mina looked between them. "So who will go first?" she asked. She had a grasp of the incantation and the wand movement, but wasn't all that confident in performing it together in front of others yet.

Turning to Kylie, she shrugged. "I can go first, if you don't mind." Well, it was looking like she had to get over her little fear and just do it.

"Okay, are we ready?" she asked, trying to sound more confident than she really felt at the moment.

Marie looked at the plank, then at her wand 'I can do this' she said to herself. Taking a deep breath and slowly letting it out she stood there looking at the plank some more. After what she witnessed in class a little earlier she was a little nervous to do this spell. What if she was the one to set something on fire this time? 'NO' she yelled at herself, 'that will NOT happen, you will NOT set anything on fire, you CAN do this.' "Ok Kay here goes." She raised her wand and gave it a quick chopping action, as she did she said "Deprimo!". Walking over to examine the plank Marie got a smile on her face. There is was, a hole in the middle of the plank, not a big hole but it was a hole that went all the way through. "Well will you look at that, I did it" she stated as she showed the plank to Kay. "Your turn now."

Daniel raised his hand and said, "Professor, I got a question. And a silly one. I don't have a partner." he said hoping the Professor would get that the question is, How am I suppose to practice with no partner.

'Thanks!' Destiny said proudly.
It seemed like Evelyn was froze when she didn't move. Destiny was just about to tap her shoulder when she remembered Evelyn's warning not to scare her when she had her wand, she did not want to be cursed into oblivion, especially in front of the whole class. Then Evelyn mentioned pie. 'Ohh, so now you want pie too, huh,' she asked laughing.
Destiny clapped when Evelyn's hole appeared in the plank. 'You're really good at this! Shall we try again?'

Kay looked at the hole in the plank. Well Marie could do it. So she could to, right??? "ok, I will do it." Kay said to her. She could do it. Kay picked up her wand walked around the table so her back was to everyone. Kay did the chopping action with her wand and said..."DEPRIMO!" Kay jumped at the sounded and looked at the plank. There was a hole, but it was a little big. Boy, she had to stop think of Lorcan.

"Yea, cherry sounds nice right now." she smiled proudly at her hole, and then her face lit up even more. "Let's see who can make the smallest hole." she said eagerly, bouncing slightly in excitement at the thought of a competition.

'Cherry? I was thinking pumpkin for myself.' She shrugged her shoulders.

Destiny's face lit up when Evelyn mentioned a competition. 'You're on!'
Rolling up her sleeves again, Destiny pointed her wand at the plank. She really didn't know how to make the hole a different size. 'Maybe the way I say the spell?' Barely even hearing herself, Destiny whispered 'deprimo.' Her hole appeared, but not as small as she expected it to be. It was just the size where she could fit her thumb through it. 'Oh well. Now your turn!'

"Well done!" he patted Alexandra on the arm as she clapped in celebration. He grasped his wand firmly and cleared his throat. "Deprimo!" he said and to his amazement a large hole appeared in the plank.

"You know what? Pumkin pie does sound good at the moment." Evelyn said, watching Destiny do the spell. 'Wow, that hole is actually really small.'

"That's gunna be hard to beat." she said to herself in a hushed tone, stepping up for her turn. 'What did Destiny do? Whisper the spell?' Thinking of how to make a smaller hole than her, she raised her wand and making the wand movement less 'forceful', she lowered her voice as she said, "Deprimo." She almost missed the hole that appeared, having to walk up to the plank the actually see it. 'I think my pinky finger can squeeze in there.'

Smirking, she turned to Destiny, her competitive spirit taking place. "Your turn." she said lightly with a 'beat-that!' tone hidden underneath.

Destiny was really, really wanting pie now. 'We should reallllly stop talking about pie..'

Destiny watched as Evelyn cast her spell. 'Wow! I can barely see that!' She walked up to the plank and picked it up. 'Yep, that's a tiny hole.' Destiny laughed putting the plank back down. 'I don't think I can beat that..'
This time Destiny mouthed the spell 'deprimo,' but using the chopping motion a little rougher than intended, a fist size hole appeared.
'Oops! I guess I was a little too rough. Now beat that!' Destiny laughed because she knew Evelyn would definitely beat that.

"Um I think that hole is a bit big for a peep to go through" Marie said as she looked at the hole Kay had made in the plank. 'What the heck is she trying to put through that hole, a whole case of peeps' Marie thought to herself. "Maybe you should try again and see if you can make a smaller hole" Marie suggested. "This time maybe you should think of something different when blowing the hole in the plank." Marie thought about this for a few seconds then said "Then again maybe I should try again before you go, I want to make sure there is enough of the plank left for me to make a hole in." Marie said as she looked at Kay and gave a little giggle. 'I hope she knows how to take a joke, I don't want her thinking I am being rude.'

Chelle turned to see a girl responding to Chelle's question. Good, she thought, getting a partner was easy this time. `Er, hi Kiri!' Chelle said hesitantly. `I'm Chelle, first year,' she said. Kiri looked a bit older than Chelle herself. This is going to be fun, she thought.

Not being able to hold back her snort, and being embarrassed by it, she lifted her wand again, ready for the spell. "I don't know Destiny. That actually looks really tough to beat..."

Pausing for a split second, she looked through her options again. She could let her competitive nature take over and make the tiniest hole as possible...Ooor...she could have fun. "Deprimo!" she exclaimed, chopping the wand down. The hole that was created would have probably broke the plank, but it was still hanging on by a tiny thread of wood on either side. Sighing in disappointed, (she really wanted to break it), she turned to Destiny. "I think you won." she spoke quietly, trying to keep her face serious and sad.

Edem returned Evan's grin and helped him set the plank on their desk. He looked at the plank--well, it wasn't really a thick one, he thought he'd be able to pull this together. And the professor said earlier the spell was 'Deprimo', not one he was familiar with, but it wasn't hard at all to pronounce.

"Well, maybe I can try first," Edem said rolling his sleeves up, ignoring a little chill that crept up his arms. Taking a deep breath, he made a chopping movement with his wand, and exclaimed, "Deprimo!"

There was a crack on the plank.. Edem didn't really break it, but at least it was a crack. He shrugged and rolled his eyes, then looked at Evan. "Er.. You can finish what I started?" yep, good idea. It would be a waste to ask for a new plank just yet. He stepped aside to let Evan try.

Kay giggled a little. "You better, because if I get a hole that big again there won't be a plank." Kay said to Marie knowing that Marie was right. " So give it a go." Kay said pointing at the plank with her wand. She would watch Marie to see how she did it. Maybe Kay had just said it to loudly.

Destiny couldn't hold her laughter. She tried covering her mouth, but that just mad her eyes all waterey. She had to sit down in her chair to catch her breath. 'Well if we were trying to make the biggest hole, you would have won hands down!' She picked up the piece of wood and handed it to Evelyn. 'I think you should keep this as a souvenier!' When Destiny could breathe again she stood up and got another piece of board. 'I think this time you can blow up the whole piece!' Destiny like transfiguration even more, especially partnered with Evelyn.

Holding her wand tightly Marie only made a small chopping action this time as she said "deprimo" in a somewhat quiet voice. Looking at the plank she noticed this hole was even smaller than the last one. "That's it Kay, maybe the size of the hole depends on how loud you say the spell and how big your wand movements are. Give it a try and see what happens this time if you use a quieter voice."

It seemed like Destiny's laugh was contagious because soon, Evelyn found herself almost on the ground in a fit of laughter. "Okay, okay." she said out of breathe, holding her sides. She took the 'souvenir' plank from Destiny when it was handed over, bowing slightly to the girl, grinning widely. Turning to stick it on the desk next to her, the other half of the plank suddenly fell off, landing on the ground with a loud *THUD*, causing Evelyn to land in another fit of giggles.

Sitting in the sit while breathing deeply, she saw Destiny come back with another piece of wood. "Yea, that would be fun." she said, staring at the wood. Once her sides weren't aching anymore, she stood up and leaned on the desk, summoning the other half of the wood on the ground to her since she was too lazy to bend down and pick it up. (yup, she's lazy! haha). "You can go first since i practically destroyed this one." she spoke, holding up the broken piece, grinning mischievously.

Destiny's face was actually hurting from laughing so much! 'Well it looks like you have two souvenirs now!' she said as she watched the plank break into two pieces.
Destiny smiled when Evelyn summoned the broken plank. 'l would have done the same thing!'

Destiny placed the new plank on the desks and rolled up her sleeves again. Concentrating really hard and pointing her wand at the wood, Destiny said rather loudly 'deprimo!' chopping her wand down very hard. Instead of making a hole in the plank, the plank blew up and turned into dust. The dust was all over Destiny; in her hair, on her glasses, and her black school robes were not black anymore! Standing there with her wand still pointed to where the plank used to be she turned around to look at Evelyn. 'Oops.'

"Yea." she said, putting the second wooden piece on top of the first one on the desk, grinning. Evelyn glanced around the room when Destiny was rolling up her sleeves, seeing how everyone else was doing. She suddenly spotted Josh on the other side of the room talking to some other girl. 'Why is he always on the other side of the room...and always with another girl?' she thought somewhat angrily, but she was brought out of her thoughts when there was a loud *BANG*.

Jumping about a foot in the air and crashing into the desk she was leaning on, in a split second, she had her wand pointed at where the noise came from. Heart pounding, eyes wide and on the verge of hexing whatever it was, she lowered her wand slightly when she got a good look at Destiny, or what she thought was her, a smile already threatening to show itself. "What...happened?" She asked, laughing, and walking over so she could help clean off the dust on Destiny's robes.

As she helped wipe down the dust, Evelyn couldn't help the laughter that kept increasing after every swipe. Soon enough, she was sitting on the floor, holding her aching sides and trying to cover her mouth so her sounds of laughing wouldn't echo too much in the room. After awhile, she was finally able to stand up, and she quickly cleaned off the dust she sat on from her skirt, looking towards the pile of dust that was still on the ground...and Destiny, giggling again.

'Ow, too much laughing.' Her whole body ached, her cheeks and sides being the worst. Rubbing the tears from her eyes, she sat down on the desk, staring at Destiny, waiting for an answer.
