Carter looked at Patroclus and Tori who were sitting near him. "Want to group up?" he asked them. He didn't wait for a response but hopped up and grabbed feathers for the three of them. He rejoined them on the floor. "Who wants to go first?" he asked.

Not completely sure on where he was going with the conversation, she let it go when he changed the subject. "Alright. Anyone need a partner-" Evelyn stopped talking when the Professor spoke up. "Oh, well, do you want to go see what's in the other box? Or do you want a marshmallow?"

"Y'neeearly got it Lucy." Tammy told her and looked at her wand quickly, then to the feather. "Imma go now yeah?" She half asked herself, half asked the others. Half told them too.

Looking at the wand once more and uttering a 'sorry' to it, LIKE IT COULD HEAR!

Tammy raised her wand quickly and closed her eyes, breathing out her nose, cleeeeaaaarrrring her mindd. Once she was sure it was clear, she jabbed her wand forward and spoke, in a NO WAY TIMID, but clear voice.. Sorta like she knew what she was doing.

"Duro."

The word came sharp off her tongue and soon after she had done it she looked down at the feather, it looked like. ..

like a STONEY FEATHER.

"i did it.." She uttered.

"Kita, should we going get somethng else to work with." Kay asked as she looked ast the books the professor had moved. "Maybe it will help with our little prankstir." Wlaking forward to look in the box.

Arianna was smiling, really cocky as she straightened herself, then, PUM! Her feather was growing, inch by inch, and it didn't seem like slowing down, soon it would be larger than a chair. Her eyes were huge in shock as she took a step backwards " Non capisco!!" she exclaimed, saying, I don't understand, in Italian, think she often did when she was nervous " Professor!!" she called in a hurry. She looked around trying to see someone who could help when she spotted Rafe, her eyes narrowed into two cracks "YOU!" she exclaimed, following it with a torrent of italian words, not understandable or advisable to hear " Did you do this?!" she asked him, stepping backwards as she feather continued growing " Make it stop!" she pointed her wand at it and shouted " DURO!" again, wishing that it would be enough to stop the growing process.

Anna went and took another feather like the professor said. She sighed, she should have taken the western magic classes like Adella did. This was just too hard. She pointed her wand to the feather. "Duro." This time the feather was . . . clear? It turned to glass. Anna dropped her head on the table. This was harder than defense against the dark arts.

"WOW!" Kay said grabbing Arianna hand and pulling her back. "Watch out Arianna. Kita look out." Kay said loudly. What was going on. "Professor a little help please." Kay said.

Nataly turned to Sara, Lyra and Mickael.
"Let's take peeps, they will look much better than an old vial." she told them, looking at the box of peeps. She was still exited ater she successfuly turned her feather into marble.

Kita listened to Kay's idea and said, "Yeah, i agree! Wanna try the spell on something else Marie? What about you Arianna? Arianna?" She turned back when she didn't hear Arianna reply and saw something very weird. Her feather was growing. Kita nudged Kay and nodded in the direction of the giant feather. She saw as Arianna glared at someone and followed her gaze. The culprit had been caught. She nudged Kay again and nodded in the direction of the culprit. Kita heard foriegn words issuing from Arianna's mouth and knew that she must be angry. She saw her fruitless attempts and tried to call the Professor. "Professor! Something very weird is happening!" she shouted, hoping that the professor would come quickly before they have to evacuate from the still-growing feather...

"Oh, well..." Lucy muttered. "Close enough!!" She began laughing at the semi-stoned feather. It didn't look like a stone, but it sure looked stiff. Ah, next time. Now, it was time to give someone else a try. And by the looks of it, Tammy had volunteered herself. "You can do it, Tammy!" she said, watching her carefully for any extra tips. Perhaps watching a more experienced student would help her with her own Transfiguration skills.

Tammy's mind appeared to focus and clear that as soon as she conjured up the spell, the feather immediately turned to stone. Wooooooow...how cool was that?! "Whoa...that's so cool." she said in amazement. "Good job, Tammy! You did it!" And on the first try, too! She was really good at this! Perhaps Lucy could get some tips from her in their spare time.

Rafe strutted over to her laughing hysterically. He pointed his wand and the growing stone feather. "Calm down Little Italy. Reducio!" he shouted and the feather would go back to normal. "You shouldn't get so hysterical, it was just a bit of fun! You should have seen your face!" Rafe laughed as he nudged her shoulder. Rafe changed his voice to be high-pitched and girly, mocking Arianna, "Oh Professor, my feather is growing I don't know what to do? Ah! Ah!"

"Gosh! I hope the Professor, didn't hear you! Wouldn't want to lose house points after all. No harm done," Rafe ruffled her hair. He pointed to the feather sitting on his desk with his wand. "Accio feather!" And his wand went soaring through the air in his direction. "Duro!" he said as it changed to stone. "Pretty interesting spell, don't you think?" Rafe said with a smile. "You should catch up on some reading on simple spells, they're quite useful and...entertaining." Rafe laughed again.

Rafe noticed that she wasn't alone and that two other students were freaking out a bit too much. "Calm down, it's just a swelling spell. Gosh! Aren't we wizards and witches and should expect weird happenings? Duh! I don't think screaming at it would do you much good! Stop yelling for the professor!"

MARSHMALLOWWWWSSSSS!!!

Seeing as she couldn't eat them, she carefully avoided them. If she touched one she'd probably devour it. She reached into the other box and took out a plastic, orange spatula.

She took it back to where she had been practising with Damon and jabbed it with her wand. "Duro!" it turned into stone quite easily. She had not expected it to happen so fast, as the feather had not turned out well. She was pleased with herself. She picked up the stone spatula and admired it.

He was glad that Rose did not ask any questions about his nonsense. 'It's almost the same thing over and over' he thought as the professor spoke But maybe that was the best way to learn, 'practice makes perfect' as his mom told him which he hated to hear. ''Yes, a marshmallow would be great'' he replied ''But anything you bring is ok with me''

William grinned at Lucy, nodding his head enthusiastically. "Great job Lucy." he said, still looking at the half stone feather. It would probably look much better than how would when he was done with it, which would be after Tammy had practiced hers. Stepping to the side, his wand now in his hand due to the amazingly super awesome flick of his hand he watched as Tammy cleared her mind, preparing herself. When she had said the spell out loud, jabbing her wand at the feather, William's eyes popped out of his head, "Wow. Awesome." he muttered, grinning.

"Well, I guess it's my turn now." he said to no one in particular. Well he could give it his best shot he mused, hoping for some results. He wasn't expecting anything amazing like Tammys stone feather, but he wanted something. Closing his eyes, he shut his mind off of any distractions, the noises stopping, the air around him slowing. It was just him and his feather. Opening his eyes, he held out the feather with his right hand, his left holding the wand tightly, but not too tight.

"Duro." he said in an oddly calm voice full of authority as he jabbed his wand at the feather, his eyes utterly focused. He kept his eyes opened, focused on the feather and watched as amazingly it turned to stone. with some exceptions. the stem was still a feather stem and there was little bits of feather sticking out at the ends. "Well, it's a start." he shrugged, grinning as he held up his weird looking stone feather.

Sara was game to try something new. Those feathers were beginning to get on her nerves!

"Great idea!" Sara said to Nataly, as she grabbed a peep out of the box. "Do you want to go first?"

"I'm so glad you think its funny to make fun of someone trying to learn." kay said. She turned to Kita and Marie. " do you guys thinks we should tell the professor or just let it be" kay asked.

"I say we let it go for now, his day will come when we get the chance to pay him back" Marie said as she glared in his direction. How dare he make fun of my new friends she thought. This wasn't over with yet, she would figure out a way to pay him back.

Arrick stuck to poking the feather, as he wasn't getting anywhere with it. He seemed to have made a mistake somewhere, as while the feather no longer appeared to be as light, it was hardly stone, either. Or maybe it simply needed time and Arrick was getting impatient. And a bit bored.

"Duro," he muttered again, giving the feather a rather vicious jab. Instead of turning to stone, it seemed to curl up on itself and melt into a funny blob with the tiniest of hissing noises. Arrick edged away from it in his seat, staring. That didn't look right....

"Dumb thing. Flexi." Nothing happened. Deeming the feather irreparable, Arrick slid out of his desk to go fetch a peep to try instead.

Evelyn got up and went to go see what was in the second box and randomly grabbed something. 'A spoon.' she thought, as she looked at it with boredom. 'Well, better than a feather i suppose.' then walking over to the other box, she grabbed a peep and went back to the desk. "Here ya go." she said, handing the marshmallow over to Josh. "And if you want, we can trade later or something."

Anna tried again. "Duro!" This time it finally turned to stone. She jumped in delight. She then pranced over to the other big box and took a wooden spoon. She went back to the table and tried the spell again. "Duro!" But the spoon turned into a big cookies. She looked like she was about to cry. "Why am I so useless at this?!"

Rafe then smiled very evilishly childlike. "You wouldn't want to even try to take on Rafe Lycaon."

Jen sat at her seat and stared down at her with interest; she wanted to do the spell, but she was a little bit nervous, though she had no reason to be. she sighed and finally raised her wand. "DURO!" she exclaimed and watched in shock as her feather turned into stone. she grinned an impish smile, she had succeeded. she strolled over to wear the peeps were and took one back to her seat.

''Thanks, hun!'' looking happy he took the peep from her. Threw it in his mouth the moment he touched it, chewed once or so and gulped it which happened in about 5 seconds. ''That was tasty!'' and he stared at the spoon she was holding ''What is it?'' he asked looking confused.
