Lyddia sat picked up her wand and began to practice the wand movement on her pencil. She made sure not to recite the spell by accident. Though she did let herself imagine the pencil turn to stone. She kept making the movement over and over, jabbing her pencil, making a dent in the wood. She giggled at the dent then jabbed the pencil some more, making several dents and forming a smiley face on her pencil. She giggled again, then stopped realizing she'd gotten distracted and began jabbing other things, things that wouldn't be dented. |
Ruby bit her lip, concentrated on her the wand in her hand and jabbed it directly at her schoolbag. She jabbed and jabbed. It was hard practicing with the wand and not speaking out loud the spell. Ruby felt as if there were something twisting in her mouth. She wanted to try the spell on her schoolbag, yet she knew that she could not and had better practice carefully or she would do something bad to herself before she could turn her bag into stone. |
“All right now, let’s not get carried away,” Svensson suggested calmly, trying to find a happy medium between too much preparing for the spell and not enough. “Everybody, get into groups of two or three—four at the most. You’ll be practicing the spell in groups for safety, and so you can help each other if you’re having trouble.” Svensson walked to the corner of the room and opened a box. “First, you’ll be turning feathers to stone,” he instructed as he carried the box to his desk and set it on the floor in front of his desk. “When you have your groups, send one person to get feathers for your whole group.” |
Magenta quickly snapped out of her day dream, looking around the classroom for a possible group. "Are you in a group?" she asked the person next to her, adamant not to be a lone ranger again |
This class is sooo awesome! Working in G-R-O-U-P-S? How...fabulous! Blake stood up and grabbed Nikki & Shana by the arm, "C'mon girlies!! Annd we are one person short, if anyone wants to join." Blake narrowed his eyes, pointing at the bajillion students sitting on the floor. |
Jab jab jab. OK that enough then. Sarah looked up as the professor spoke again, telling them to get into groups.Oh great, who on earth am I going to partner up with? Shuffling her foot over the stone floor, she glanced around hoping to see someone nice that she could ask.It was always the part of a lesson she didn't like much, due to the fact very few people ever seemed to want to work with her. Can't think why. |
Tibi'll partner with Sarah :-) Well, since they weren't practicing ON each other, just with each other, Tibi was in much better spirits. Spying a lone older Hufflepuff, Tibi walked over. "Hi, I'm Tiberius." He stuck out his hand. "Want to be my partner?" |
'Great!' Evelyn thought, relieved to finally be able to do something. Looking over at Josh, he seemed to be enjoying saying 'Duro' too much to be interrupted. 'Ah well...' she poked his side to maybe get him out of the 'trance'. Evelyn looked up to see if there was anyone else who needed a group. |
Yay! HI! :-) Quote:
Sarah practically jumped as she turned and saw a young Ravenclaw speaking to her.Breaking out into a smile, she shook his proffered hand and nodded. "Nice to meet you Tiberius, I'm Sarah. And I would love to be your partner." Looking up towards the front of class, she spied the box that Professor Svensson had placed on his desk.Sighing she turned to her new young friend. "I guess one of us had better go up and get the feathers.Should be interesting trying to turn them to stone!" |
Practicing in groups? Something she did not expect. Ruby looked around the classroom nervously. There were many of older students and they seemed to have their groups already. She looked for some familiar faces hoping that she could join in a group. |

Skipping up to the room, he looked into the box and selected two large feather. Accidentally brushing his nose with one of them, he let out a squeaky sneeze and blushed before scurrying back to Sarah. "Got em! Do you want to go first?" Tibi wanted to see it happen first, before he tried it himself. |

Abigail looked around for the other Hufflepuff first years but decided she’d like to meet people from the other houses. She just had to figure out who was, and who wasn’t already in a group. Of course in a mass of students like this, that was easier said than done. Deciding that it would be easier to just ask the class room as a whole and hope someone answered, she cleared her throat. “Does anyone need a group member?” |

anyone Lyra placed her wand back in her holster again and listened to Professor Svennie's instructions. Making groups......right...Lyra could do that. Standing up, Lyra started walking around in the classroom , searching for a group she could be in or someone who was alone too. |

"Want to practice together?" She asked and smiled. |

Nataly started looking around the classroom. All the faces were unfamiliar to her, and it made her uncomfortable. At Durmstrang she knew everyone, even if they mocked her all the time, calling her a blood traitor. She sended the class another lost look, and then asked quietly, "Does anyone need a member to his or her group?" |
