Kita looked at the prankster and frowned. Then she turned to Kay and said, "I dunno. In one way, he was only joking but then again, it was a pretty mean joke." She listened to Marie and said, "Hope you get him back!" She sighed before continuing, "Let's get something else to practice the spell on before we get into trouble for not doing work."

LouAnn spun around and around, scanning the classroom for a group consisting of less than four students. Everywhere she looked, though, students seemed to be assembled by fours. Surely at least one group had room for another member? If she waited much longer, though, class would be over, and she'd have missed most of the lesson. She tapped a nearby student lightly on the shoulder, hoping that she'd lucked out and stumbled upon a group she could join. "Excuse me, but, do you mind if I join you? I've been searching for a group for quite a while now," she admitted.

Kay just stood there with her mouth open. She didn't know what to say. Sweet cakes? How could he even go there. Kay knew that Marie wouldn't like that and by the look on her face something was going to hit the fan. "I think I'm going on with the class. It was nice meeting you, and I feel sorry for you." Kay said. Looking at Marie. "Please don't do something you will get in trouble for." Kay said. "Kita are you coming with to the box."

Evelyn glared at him when he ate the peep. "You aren't supposed to eat it." she said, rolling her eyes and was about to place the spoon in front of her when she heard him ask...what is it? Was he serious? "A spoon." she said as if it was obvious. Well it was obvious. Extremely obvious. "Ever heard of it? Use it while you eat? A ton of them in the great hall. Seen them lately?" she couldn't help but smile. Surely he meant to phrase that question differently...

"Kita do you think that Marie will do something?" Kay said looking back at the Slytherin. "Boy do you think the professor will take points if he heard us?"

Acalia went to the boxes, and picked up a feather. She had been finishing up her DADA homework, and she was now ready to do some Transfiguration! She looked around, and saw some people she had other classes with huddled in a corner. She bounded up to the first-year Hufflepuff, whose name was Kaytone. "Hey, you guys! What's up? Any luck with the spell?" Acalia raised her wand, pionted it at the feather, and cried Duro! the feather turned to wood. Acalia sighed. "Getting there."

Kita waited for Kay and said, "Yeah, i'm coming." She turned on her heel and walked to the box. As she did, Kay was saying somehting to her. Kita replied, "I dunno. Maybe. She looked pretty mad before. I hope the professor doesn't knock off points. We didn't do anything." As they reached the box, Kita peered into it, making sure to keep her distance before asking Kay, "Which one do you want?"

I would love to practice on you... I mean with you... on the spells... of course." Rafe blushed and tried to hide his face a little with his shirt. He placed his peacock feather in front of them. "Shall we?"

''I thought we are having a sweet break, sorry'' he laughed and picked up her spoon ''Cool, it is nice and...round. Looks pretty familiar.'' he coughed. ''I actually meant to ask what you are going to do with it'' as he spoke he looked over the box and wondered whether there was anything else for him to take.

Sweet Cakes, ha Marie thought, he's not the only one with tricks up his sleeve, she could keep up with the best of them (even though she was just a 1st year), she had a few tricks of her own Marie thought. "If he wants funny I will show him funny" Marie said to the others as they walked to the box. "I'm always up for a good joke, let's see if he is too." Besides, this will keep class interesting Marie thought to herself showing her own evil little grin.

Tavelon took another feather and tried again. "Duro!" he said firmly, jabbing his wand at the feather. This time the shaft turned gray as it became stone and seeped out over the barbs until the feather was turned into stone. Tavelon smiled. "Flexo" he said, and it became a feather again.

"Hmm..." she took the spoon back and twirled it around in her hand. "Well i could turn it to stone..." she said, feeling bored, but then her eyes lit up. "Or just mess around with it. BUT keep to the task that was given when the professor looks over here of course." Glancing over at the professor, she saw he was far enough away, so she looked back at her spoon, trying to think of what to do with it.

Josh tapped on the desk some and looked at Rose, raising an eyebrow ''Mess with it? Sounds good'' he stared at the spoon as she twirled it. ''I think i should go and take another object for myself before you stab it into my stomach and i'll be careful to choose among the non-eatable ones'' he smiled at her and quickly walked to one of the boxes among the other students and handed a blue toothbrush and walked back to Rose. ''It still has to do something with mouth''

Evelyn laughed when she saw the object he came back with. "Of course." Turning back to her spoon, she stared at it some, looking at it from all angles. "It's so boring." she commented. Sticking it on the table, she turned her head slightly sideways, seeing if it would change its...boringness. An idea came to mind a second later. She remembered when she was younger, she had stolen her father's wand. 'Got into SO much trouble.' she thought, smirking, but that wasn't the point. She remembered playing around with it in her room, pretending to be fighting something. Everything in her room was green or silver, and one flick of the wand, turned her whole bed rainbow. "Got an idea." Maybe she could do what she did when she was younger. It was stupid, she knew that, but it was better than turning something to stone a million times. Flicking her wand at the spoon, with all intent of it turning rainbow colored...it didn't do anything. Scoffing, she concentrated harder, trying a couple more times, turning around to look at the Professor every minute or so to see if he was nearby.

Anna looked at the girl. She had no idea if she was talking to her or not but she didn't care. "C-can you help me?" she held up a cookie, crystal star, giant marshmellow, and a cat. "These used to be wooden spoons."

At first, LouAnn hadn't realized she was being spoken to when someone addressed her by her last name alone. She'd only been 'LouAnn Purple' for about a month now, and she still wasn't a hundred percent used to the name. She spun around again and came face to face with Rafe, the boy she'd met a few days ago in the Gryffindor Common Room.

"Hi, Rafe," she said, giving him a slight look when he mentioned the harmless joke. She hoped that whatever he'd done before was in the past, and he'd concentrate on the spell alone when working with her. She was already behind since she'd started the spell a little late. Getting even further behind would be a big setback. Besides, this was her first time in Professor Svenson's class, so she wanted to leave today with him having at least a bit of a good impression of her.

"Anyway, thanks for partnering with me," she said, smiling as she drew her wand from her left sleeve. "On with the spell then..." She eyed the feather, concentrating on it alone and blocking out the rest of her surroundings. Jabbing her wand forward and in the direction of the feather, she said, "Duro!" The feather did turn to stone, even if a few parts here and there were still in regular form. Pretty good for a formerly home-schooled girl. At least LouAnn thought so. "Well, it's a start," she remarked, lowering her wand and putting it back by her side.

Nikki still didn't have a partner, so decided to get practicing by herself. She walked to the front of the class room, and pulled out a shiny black feather from the first box, before returning to her seat.

She jabbed her wand, and repeated "Duro!" a couple of times, but nithing happened. Nikki frowned, and deided to say the incantation differently. "Duuuuuro...DuRO! Duroooooooo...DUro! DurOooo! Duuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrroo..." She continued to jab her wand, with each different repetition, but still nothing happened.

She scowled at the stupid feather infront of her, and tried to think of what she as doing wrong. She was half way through colouring a love heart she'd doodled on her notes, when it clicked. She had to imagine the object as a STONE! Oh my gosh, was she a fritter or what?!

Smiling a bit, Nikki imagined the feather as a rock. A pretty one, one that was smooth, and ovalish, and kinda shiny too. She concentrated on that image, jabbed her wand, and yelled "DURO!". She looked at the feather, to see her stone.

She decided to try the counter spell. She imagined her glossy black feather again. "Flexi!" It disappeared, and changed into the feather again. While the feather was pretty, however, she liked the rock better. She used the original spell once more. She left her rock on the table, hoping she could keep it.

She grinned, got up, and made her way to the front of the room. Out of the box on the right of the originally one, she picked out a fork. It was silver, but was a bit dull. She tried to concentrate on makig a long thing stone, grayish in colour, and slightly rough in texture. "Duro!" Jab. Nothing.

Well, damn. Maybe she should just think about rocks in general. Jab, "DURO!" Nada. Ok, well general rocks didn't work. And neither did more force in the spell...Hmmm, myabe if she used Flexi to soften it first? It would make it like the feather then.

"Flexi!" The fork became a bit softer, but not by much. She triedagain with the jabbing motion. "DURO!" Nikki's eye twitched as nothing happned. "Duro Duro Duro Duro Duro! Duro Duro Duro! DURO! Gosh damnit, why aren't you Duroing?!?"

Bah. Stupid fork. Nikki knew she should have picked a marshmellow...She growled and glared at the fork again. She checked her notes, and gave a frustrated glance at the fork before she continued to attempt transfiguring he damn thing.

"Anything. Just so long we are doing something." Kay said to Kita. Look back she see Marie coming over. "You had better get something to work with so as not to get the professor mad. " Kay said to marie. Kay grab a long plastic spoon and amiles at Kita. "Let's go use this."

''I totally agree. Toothbrush is much more boring almost as much as books'' he put the toothbrush on the desk and examined it. This might be harder to turn into stone since it looked denser than a feather but also that might help him as well, it was kinda more 'solid' than the feather anyway. He took his pale coloured wand, which was in contrast to Rose's as he realised that moment, getting ready to 'duro' it, looking reluctant to do so. ''Du...'' he stopped. Rose was up to something. Forgetting about the 'duro' his attention moved on her spoon ''What are you trying to do, sweet?'' he asked, interested.

LouAnn turned towards a young Gryffindor, a first year maybe, when the girl began asking her questions. Being a new student here at Hogwarts, LouAnn probably wasn't the best person to ask for assistance, but she'd try her best anyway. She blinked when the girl showed her a cookie, star, marshmallow, and cat---objects that had all once been "...a wooden spoon?" she asked aloud. "Wow, that's quite a transformation, you know." She had no idea how in Merlin's name she could transform them back into a wooden spoon, but she could try to her best to help at the very least. "What incantation did you use on these?" she asked.

Marie started going through the boxes looking for something that might be a bit of a challange to turn to stone. Spoons, cups, bowls, these items were boring. As she was going through the next box she found it, a stuffed animal that looked like it was suppose to be a unicocrn. "Look at this Kay and Kita, how hard you think it will be to turn this to stone?" she asked as she glanced around the classroom looking for Rafe.

Anna looked down, " . . . duro . . ." She blushed deeply as she put her new objects and cat on the table. "Western magic is hard!"

Abigail had somehow ended up on her own for this class instead of a group, but she wasn’t complaining it meant she could concentrate without being disturbed by someone constantly talking in her ear. After numerous attempts at turning her feather into stone she finally managed it, and with a quick ‘Flexi’ she headed up front to get a peep.

When she was back in her place she set to work concentrating on the yellow bird marshmallow, willing it to become like stone. She wasn’t having much success because in all honesty she’d rather eat the thing.

With a jab of her wand “Duro” the spell hit the peep, and nothing happened. She keep trying, and at one stage she could have sworn the thing got harder, but then decided it was just because it had been out of the box for so long.

Evelyn paused for a second to look at Josh, then to the Professor, then back to her spoon. "I'm trying to..." she flicked her wand at the spoon, "...turn this spoon..." another flick, "...into something..." another flick, "...less boring..." and another flick. This time, she got it partially right, it was only missing probably three-fourths of the rainbow, plus instead of just changing the color, it glowed and switch off changing from red to yellow. Staring at the spoon for a second, she hesitantly picked it up and examined it. "Well, not what i was originally planning on doing." she said at last, her face set into a pout. "It looks so...Gryffindorish." Turning her head towards Josh. "Do you want it?" Evelyn asked, offering over the glowing spoon.

"It's no problem, I've been practicing a lot of the basic spells in between classes, this one's a bit harder," Rafe poked the stone feather, "Flexi!" And the feather went back to a regular feather. "I wonder if we're going to try this on each other!" Rafe said excitedly. "I think it would be awesome to be cast in stone, like after I died of course...I would be remembered forever in statue!" Rafe sighed. He was such a daydreamer. He always wanted to be better and leave his mark on the world. He had been all over Europe and met some of the most fascinating wizards and people would by them drinks and tell legendary stories of them. That's what he wanted, to be known throughout the wizarding world.

"I suppose I should lighten up on the mischief a bit, well...at least in class, I wouldn't want to lose points for Gryffindor," Rafe bit his lower lip. Something he did when he got nervous. "So, you're pretty much a newbie too right?" Rafe asked leaning in a little. Rafe thought it was cool to "transfer" in, whatever that meant? Maybe he could transfer to other schools to expand his knowledge...but who would want to leave Hogwarts?
