"I think it work Marie, open your eyes." Kay said walking over to them. "Could you use another partern?" Kay smiled. She thought it would be good to work with someone she knew. Even if it was a little upsetting that Marie was a Slytherin. Something just felt weird about it.

"Good!" Mikaela glanced at Nataly's feather.
"Look at mine!" She squeeled with happiness and showed Nataly her own marbel-feather.

Sara was impressed with Nataly's spell. She wished she could make her feather do something... anything would be great.

Sara looked at Nataly: "Great work Nataly! One more try should do it... and if you stick with the marble effect, you'll have a beautiful paper weight when you're done!!!" Sara laughed at the look on Nataly's face.

Deciding it was her turn once again, Sara went through her whole routine, directed her wand at her feather and with her eyes open... yelled, "Duro!"

"Oh my God!" Sara whispered, "I did it!!!"

''Really?'' Josh asked stopping jumping at last, looking solemn than a huge grin appeared on his face ''Great! That means more fun, then!'' he took his feather and shoke it some ''You know, i'd never miss a good competition'' giving her a confident look he went on ''So... what are we going to do now? Try them again?''

Maire opend her eyes and to her great surprise the soft feather that had been laying on the floor was now a hard stone. "WOW" Marie exclaimed, "this magic stuff is a little easier than I thought it would be."
Realizing that Kay had joined the group Marie quickly introduced her to Arianna. "Arianna this is Kay, Kay this is Arianna. I partnered with Kay in DADA the other day, she is pretty cool to work with. She seemed to be a little nervous working with me on our defensive spells so hopefully working with 2 Slytherin students won't scare her today." Marie remembered the look Kay had on her face the last time they worked together, a look as if she had just seen a ghost.
"Here is a feather for you Kay. Which one of you wants to go next?"

Evelyn laughed. "I love competitions." she said, smirking mischievously. "Hmm, i think we have it down pretty much. Wish we could turn something else to stone besides a feather..." she said, looking around.

Still practicing with his wand, Tavelon got caught in the bustle of classmates pairing up and was left partnerless.

"Um... does anyone still need a partner?" or, group, rather...

Kita was just about to accept when someone she accepted someone else as her partner. Kita sighed. "Does anyone still need a partner?" she asked vaguely, wondering if there was still anyone who didn't have a partner...

"I do!" groaned Lucille. She wasn't getting the hang of this. "If you doont mind me like..poking you in the eye or something." she frowned

Looking at Marie's other partern Kay wave her hand. "Go ahead."

"Hey can't Kita join us?" Kay asked the two Syltherin.

"Hey Kita, we already started but you can join us, now we have 4 to our group." Marie handed Kita the last of the feathers. "This is Arianna and Kay, I think you already know Kay" Maybe now Kay would feel a little more comfortable working with our group since there was someone from her house here now too Marie thought to herself.

Destiny looked around the room for a partner. She noticed a girl who was also looking for one.
'Hi! I'll be your partner. I'm Destiny.'

Arianna smiled at Kay as she joined her and Maire " Nice to meet you" she said " afraid of working with Slytherins? We're not that bad I think... though I think I might accidentally pop someone's eye out.." she said with a giggle while she admired the stone feather on the floor " I think I'll give it a try, I have a better idea of what we're supposed to do now.." and she closed her eyes in concentration, holding her wand firmly. Stone, stone, stone, think stone. Stone stone stone she then opened her eyes determined and jabbed her wand at her own feather, just the way the professor had taught them and said " Doro!" no, that's wrong, it's not like that " Duro!" she repeated making the movement again.

The feather looked the same, she knelt to the ground next to it and touched it with her wand, it was hard, not exactly like stone, but hard anyway.

"Well this is a start!" she said shrugging her shoulders and looking at Kay " Your turn now!" and then she turned to another girl Kita, that Marie had just introduced to them, she waved at her " Hi Kita!" she looked around, all girls, yeah, female power! And she punched the air with a laugh.

"Hey, Kita I am soooo glad to have you in our group." Kay said looking at the two Slytherins. "Marie is pretty good at this, and I haven't tried yet." Kay was happy that her friend was there. She would have to remember to tell Kita about the Slytherin Marie when they were done.

Ahhhhhh! Lucy does not have a partner yet! Eep! Who can she team up with and ensure that she won't fail at this task of Flexi and Duro Fero BLAAAAAH...? Friend...friend...friend...who's a friend to Lucy?

Anyone? Annnnyone? Hey, isn't Tammy is this class? Where the heck was Tammy? Maybe...hopefully, she didn't have a partner? Eep!

"TAAAAAMMMY. Tam Tam Taaaaaaammy!" she cried out softly, so as not to disturb the more awesome Transfiguration students who were busy with their awesome transfiguring skills which she lacked so very much. RAWR! Whatchu looking at kid?! Geeeet outta here..."Taaaaaammy?"

Kita giggled nervously and said "Hey!" She noticed another girl was lonely too. turned to the group with a mad idea. "Hey," she said, "I've got a really mad idea. This is Destiny. Is it ok if she works with us?" she asked, knowing that it'll be really sad to leave Destiny on her own. She accepted her feather with a "Thanks," and smiled at the others. Talk about girl power...

After sitting silently, noting down the spells and the wand movement. Tammy looked around. MEH. Everyone was paired up and she wasn't. Sighing quickly Tammy whipped around before coming face to face wit Lucy. Miss flat on the face in diagon alley Lucy. "Luce? You got a partner? I dunt wanna be on my own. " Tammy hissed quickly, her hand grabbing Lucys as she went to grab the feathers for the two of them.

After DADA class, Arrick was rather hesitant to pair up again for any sort of magical practice. Too many people in one place for his liking, he reasoned, which meant it was more likely someone was going to get hit with a misfire.

He collected a feather and sat at his desk, alone, poking at it with his wand with a frown, unconvinced anything was going to happen to it (except the offchance he blew it to smithereens).

"Duro...duro...duro, duro," he mumbled, in time with his small poking jabs, as if baiting a particularly stupid insect.

"Hi Destiny, we don't have any more feathers to give out now. Maybe if you ask the professor if it is OK for us to have 5 in our group he will give you a feather." Marie didn't want to tell the girl no but she also didn't want the group to get in trouble for having too many since the prefessor did say to work in groups of 3 or 4.

"OK" Tavelon said to both of them simultaneously. "How about over here?" he asked, indicating a vacant spot. "I'll get the feathers".

Lyra watched the girl called Mikaela as she cleared her throught and pointed her wand at her feather. Lyra gasped inwards when she made a jabbin motion and shouted to spell. On the ground lay a perfect white stone feather. Lyra started to clap enthousiatically at the girl smiling broadly with a pang of jealousy in her. She wanted to be the one who had done it! hmpf.... "Congrats Mikaela!" she said and looked at her own feather.

Lyra grinned at the girl who she had heard called Nataly. She was smirking but Lyra didn't mind 'cause she was sure that if it hadn't been her who did the spell wrong but someone else, she would have smirked too.
The slytherin listened as she told her that it was usually her that blew things up and Lyra started to laugh out loud. "I know what you mean! , i have a thing for blowing or vanishing things up in this class....Its perhaps my favorite class after DADA but i'm kinda bad at this class" Bleh... Lyra shrugged her shoulders in a 'oh-well' motion. But it wasn't an oh-well.. Lyra wanted to become an Auror when she grew up so she must have good grades in Transfiguration.


Turning her attention to Sara, the only Hufflepuff in the group, as she heard her whispering very excitedly. Lyra looked at her feather and noticed that her's too had gone into stone. "WOAH Sara congrats!" she squeeled and pointed at her stoney feather.

Lyra took a deep breath and grabbed her other feather which she had placed beside her. She placed it infront of her and pointed her wand at it. Lyra closed her eyes for a few moments, visioning the feather turning into stone. 'ok Ly, dont forget its Duro and not Duno....' she thought and opened her eyes. The slytherin made a jabbing motion with her wand while pointing it at the feather and shouted "DURO!" the feather was half stone, half feather.
"aww man" she muttered looking at her stone-feather.

"Okay, cool," said Lucille, trotting over to where he indicated.

"Wow what a group. Before anyone else going I think we should turn the feathers back." Kay said. With a wave of Kay's wand she said the spell. "Flexi!" The feathers turned back to the soft thing they should be. "Ok, Now I can give it a go." Point her wand at the feather Kay did the little jag. "Duro!" The feather fall to the foor. Stone and cold.

Luuuuuuuce? But her name was LUUUUUCE. Her name was LUCY!! How could she call her LUCY?! She could call her Missy Lulu, but that was only if she was in Superhero Mode...so, nevermind. Ah, well, she'll just say something now, and tell her that her name is Lucy and not--

WHOOAAA! Where was she taking her?! Ahhhhh! AHHHHHHHHH!!

"ROLLER COASTER!! I. HATE. ROLLER COASTERS!! AHHHH--Oh." Feathers. Tammy was simply dragging her along to get two feathers. Oh...right...yes, well...feathers were important. Cool...cool..."You get'em, Tammy! You get those stinkin' feathers!" Lucy encouraged, putting on a serious face, and pointing her finger at the feathers as if she were accusing them of stealing her cookies and love potions and her diary, and her lamps, and her daddy, and...oh, right. Feathers. FEEEEATHERS.

"Are these feathers clean? I don't want to touch yucky, diseased feathers, Tammy...That's totally unsanitary."

"You did it, too, just whole." Nataly said and smiled, looking proudly at her half-marble feather.

"You did it! Even faster than me!" Nataly replied, amazed. Sara's feather looked like it was a part of a statue in some palace in ancient Rome.
My turn to complete my feather. Nataly thought determindely, aimed her wand at the feather and said the spell, "Duro!"
Her feather turned into a perfect elimitation of feather from white, sparkling marble.
"I finished!" she was too exited, but she didn't care at the moment. First success at Hogwarts!
