"Ok" Lyra said and sat down on the floor. She placed her feather before her and flicked her wrist. Her wand shot in her hand from her wristholster and she pointed it at the feather. Eyes closed for a moment, Lyra visioned that the feather would turn into stone. It was a bit hard because of the talking around her from the other students who were still finding partners. Her mind then wandered off towards Evan and a pang of guilt ran through her. She hadn't asked him to be partners! Lyra opened her eyes , trying not to look at Evan. He must hate her now.... Sighing deeply, Lyra closed her eyes yet again and blocked out all the sounds around her and in her mind the feather had turned in to stone. This was it, Lyra looked at the feather and jabbed with her wand at the feather shouting "DUNO!"

*BANG!*
Yellow and Red sparks spurted out of her wand with a loud noise and for a moment , Lyra thought she had explode a hole in the ground. Daring to look , Lyra was relieved to find that there was no hole in the ground.
phiiiiiiieeeew!

the Slytherin had said the incantation wrong...like always, she had a thing for pracitising perfectly but then when it came to really using the magic she shouted the spell wrong. Why did this always happen in Transfiguration?

Lyra glanced up at her group giving them a grin and stood up again. "sorry, that always happens" bleh. "eh i'll just watch how you all do it okie?" Yes that sounded like a good plan

Evelyn looked at Josh's expression when he didn't say the spell right away. It looked like he was concentrating really hard. Too hard. "Wow, don't hurt yourself thinking Josh." she chuckled, looking back down to the feather, laughing harder when it still look oddly out of balance after the spell. "Yea. Soooo... reversing it now?" she asked, poking the more thicker stone side of his feather.

Damon got himself another feather. Moving the first stone feather out of the way. Damon pointed his wand with the jab movement once again and with a quick "Duro" this feather was slightly quicker at turning into stone. Damon could not figure out why it was slowly taking its time. He really needed to work on that.

"Thanks." Nataly thanked the girl, and then realised they didn't know each other's names. "Oh, and my name is Nataly. And yours?"

Then she took out a feather, aimed her wand at it and said the spell, "Duro!"
The tip of the feather became stone, but no more parts of it.
Nataly sighed in frustation. Was it her fault that in Durmstrang they taught mostly dark arts and barely concentrated on other subjects?

"I still need a partner, I will work with you" Marie said to the girl standing near her.

"Oh," Sara said, "my name is Sara. Nice to meet you Nataly!" Sara looked down at Nataly's feather... very impressive, at least a part of the feather was now stone. Sara did not look foreward to her turn!

Emalyn followed suit and set her stone feather aside, choosing another. "Duro," she poked at the feather violently. Being surrounded by stone feathers it was now easy to picture what it would look like in her head. The feather hardened quickly, but developed the grayish color rather late. She huffed and watched as the color finally inched it's way through the feather.

''I just...'' he looked at her than at his feather thoughtfully ''...dont understand. At first it was half-done and at the second try it is still unbalanced. Does that mean i got it right then? Thickening the other part, looks like the spell affected it wholly'' he blinked at Rose ''Ah..yes let's reverse it. What was the word? Flexed, flexe? Something flex'' he sighed. Transfiguration was going to be hard work for him.

"I'll... Give it a try," Mikaela said and cleared her trought. She consentrated hard on the feather turning into stone. She pointed her wand at the feather.
"Duro!" She said and did a jabbing motion at the feather. She glanced at it and saw that it had turned to a white-shaded piece of stone.
She smiled in amezement at Lyra.
"I did it!" She squeeled.

There was a loud 'BANG' from Lyra's direction. Nataly smirked, satisfied it wasn't her who did it wrong, like she always did. She was lucky she aksed Sara how to spell the spell, or she could ent up far worse than Lyra.
"It usually happens to me, it's so strange that I didn't blow it up or something this time." she said to Laura. "But..um..my feather isn't impressive also." she added and looked at the tip of her feathure, the only stone part in it.

Still not having a partner Marie was getting very anxious to start practicing this spell. She went to get some feathers so she would be ready when she did find a partner or group to work with. "Anyone need a partner to work with?" Marie asked once again. Wow, making friends in this school was harder than she thought.

"Well, yea, it probably worked fully the second time you did. You can try it again once it's back to normal if you want. And the word is 'Flexi'." Evelyn said, trying not to laugh at the word and giving him a smile, pointing her wand at her own feather, imagining it's normal state. "Flexi." she said, in a louder voice than she normal does. Evelyn figured Transfiguration isn't one of those things where she can barely speak the spell and it works, but she'll actually have to try. Unlike the Duro spell, this time it worked on her first try. Smiling at her feather, she started to levitate it, moving it so it tickled Josh's face and ears. "Your turn."

Biting her lip and eyeing Tiberius carefully, Sarah broke out into a warm grin when he did the spell.She was a little envious that he'd managed to change the whole appearence of it, even if it, like her's, hadn't been completely successful.Grinning warmly she nodded her approval. "That's not bad for a first go! At least it looks like stone!"

Rolling her sleeves up, Sarah bent her neck one way then the next, almost psyching herself up for the challenge.Eyes fixed on the target, she tried her hardest to imagine it as stone, then once more pointed her wand forward.Jabbing towards the feather, Sarah put a little more force behind the incantation... "Duro!!", and to her delight it changed in front of her eyes.Picking it up she let out a small squeal of excitement at the heavyness in her hand. "Yay, I did it! This is actually kinda cool, you know," she said, grinning like a mad thing at Tibi. "Go on, you have another go!" She really wanted him to do it.Success gave you such a warm feeling inside.

Arianna waved her arm at the girl " I need!" she sang happily and approached her.

"Great" Marie said noticing the girl was a fellow Slytherin. "My name is Marie, you want to go 1st? I already have the feathers."

Sara had put it off long enough, she supposed she had better give the spell a try...

Closing her eyes, Sara concentrated on her feather, pointed her wand at it, jabbed and said; "Duro!"

Squinting through her closed eye lids, Sara peaked at her feather... nothing had happened... maybe next time she had better keep her eyes open.

'Wow really good at magic as well as football' Josh thought as he watched Rose successfully cast the spell. He started to feel lucky to have her beside him otherwise the result of his 'Duro' spell could be a disaster. He laughed as her feather tickled him and tried to shoo it away. ''It'll make me sneeze and this place would be a ruin if i do so.'' he smirked at her and coughed again getting ready to cast. ''Flexi!'' he said slowly and carefully. At first there seemed to be no change, then the thicker side shrank a little. ''Flexi! Flexi! Flexiii!'' he poked the stone feather impatiently. It was now fully a feather but its features seemed to loosen a little. ''Ha ha! Done it!'' Josh was very happy and content with his casting ''I'm the champion!'' he turned around airily and raised his wand like a sword. ''Gimme a peck as a reward!'' he told Rose cheerfully.

"HI, Kita do you want to be parterns. I think that Marie needs one too. She from Slytherin but is ok. " Kay said

Herminny was glad that the professor had finally given them promission to try the spell. She watched as some of her classmates were successful and others not so much. She then took out her wand and decided to try it for herself concentrating on the feather turning to stone and pointed her wand at it and said, "doro", uh oh that did'nt sound right. And then she smelled something burning she looked down in horror to see it was her feather sizzling like baccon. She raised her hand and said, "Professor can you help me?".

"I'm Arianna" she said introducing herself with a smile. She eyed the feather suspisciously " I think I would prefer for you to go first, I'm not sure I fully understood what to do.." she ended up admitting with a faint colour of red, painting her cheeks. She giggled embarrassed, it was so awkward for her not to know something, but practising magic was much more tricky than reading about it.

Tiberius jumped up and down and clapped for Sarah when she turned her feather to stone. "That was brilliant!" Looking back at his own feather, he noticed it looked normal again. The spell had worn off on it's own.

Tiberius focused on changing it again. He imagined the appearance shifting and how it would feel when he picked it up. It will look like stone. It will be heavy. It will be stiff. It will look like stone.

Furrowing his brow, he lifted his wand. With a quick jab toward the feather, he yelled "Duro!" Watching intently as its appearance shifted again, Tibi ran over to it and tried to pick it up. It felt heavy and cool in his hand. He'd done it!

"Sarah! Sarah, I did it!" Tibi lifted the feather and called to his partner. He was positively giddy. "Should we change them back, now?"

Nataly saw that Sara didn't succeed, and sighed when she saw her own feather. It didn't look much better than Sara's.
She decided to try again. Nalaly aimed her wand at the feather, and pronaunced the spell, "Duro!"
This time, half o the feather was made o stone. But it wasn't just a stone, it was marble!
"Look! Half of my feather turned into marble!" she squeled exitedly.

Evelyn grabbed the feather out of the air and held onto it, balancing it on the back of her hand. She almost clapped when his feather turned back to normal, after three or four tries that is. "Wha- a peck?" she raised an eyebrow at him. "Your gunna have to do more than turn a stone feather back to normal to get a peck from me, Mr. Joshua Carter, Master of...whatever it is your good at." she moved her hand in the air as if the words would pop out of nowhere.

"OK, I'll give it a try 1st." Marie gave Arianna a feather then placed her own on the floor. She took out her wand and thought nervously to herself please let this work, please let this work. Quickly pointing her wand at the feather she said "duro" then closed her eyes too scared to look at the feather just in case the spell didn't work.

Lucille bit her lip, her forehead furrowed.
"Duro!" she said, jabbing her wand at the stone, but nothing happened. "Duro!" she said a little more forcefull.

She groaned and put her head in her hands. "This is never going to work!" she moaned.
