He smiled at Jack's suggestion. "Lead the way," he said simply.

Abby enters the Student Gardens. She's not really sure what she will find in here. The garden is full of beautifuf flowing plants and bushes, but Abby has never paid much attention to the trees. She walks down one of the paths and runs right into a grove a beautiful flowering trees. "They're gorgeous here. It reminds me of Washington, D.C. in the spring. Of course that's it." Abby looks down on her list. "There it is. She marks the tree off her list. Abby then takes out her wand, points it at a low branch and says Diffundo over and over to herself. When the branch has broken off, Abby traps it with a levitation spell, then carefully lowers the branch to her hand. "That's one more item off my list." Abby puts it in her bag and continues walking around the garden.

'This place is really pretty,' Mina thought as she glanced around. Catching sight of some trees on the outer edge, she smiled and approached them. Laying a hand on one of them, she asked, "Oh may I have a few blossoms from your branches? I wouldn't want to disrespect you or your tree and plant friends by stealing them." She was always taught that one never takes something from any living things without first asking. Reaching for a few blossoms, she smiled and placed them in her bag. "Thank you so much," she added before hugging the tree.

Yes, Mina was a strange one.

She smiled.It seemed like a good comparison.

Melanie walked into the students garden, smiling at the site of all the pretty plants. Unable to stop, she glanced around for something, ANYTHING, on her list. There was sooooo many though and she wasn't much of a plant expert. Sighing, Melanie felt her smile fade a little. It would take ages to look through her Herbology book to figure out which plants she needed. Despite the beauty of the garden, she didn't wanna be here all night! She glanced around hopefully for someone that could help her out...

She was in luck.
This girl! She looked like she knew what she was doing. One with the trees. So Melanie made her way over to the line of forestry she was standing by, glancing up at the blossoms. They'd be prettier if they weren't so pink, but... Guuuuuhhh. They were GORGEOUS. Melanie got on her tiptoes to pick one from a branch, tucking it carefully behind her ear. Then, she peered around one of the trunks so the other girl was in clear view. "Uhmm, excuse, me. But, you wouldn't happen to be doing the scavenger hunt for class...would you?" she asked hopefully, tapping on her shoulder. She smiled warmly at the younger student, trying to be friendly.

Say yes. Oh please say yes.

Mina looked up at the voice and smiled. "Oh yes, I am. Very much fun." she answered warmly. Looking down at her list and then back up. "Are you having any luck with the list?"

Melanie let out a breath of relief, coming out from behind the trunk she'd been looking around."Great. I am too." she replied brightly.

She couldn't help but frown slightly at her question, though, or to be more precise, what her honest answer to the inquiry was. "Well, no actually, to tell the truth, not really." she said, with a huff, unfolding her list and holding it up for the other girl to see. Not one item checked off. "I'm not much of a Herbology buff. Are you doing alright?" she questioned her, a soft smile forming on her lips again.

Melanie had one more question to ask, though, one she'd almost forgotten. "My name's Melanie Lockhart, by the way, in case you were wondering. What's yours?" she asked curiously, leaning against the tree.

Mina nodded as she listened to the older student. "I'm doing well. A bit of luck really," she explained looking back at her own list. "I just happen to come upon some of the things, beginner's luck or something."

"Oh, where are my manners? I'm Mina Bennett. Nice to meet you." Mina looked back up and smiled.

He was silent as he listened to her explain things better. And he sorta got her logic. Well, knew where she was coming from with this. "Okay, well I wouldn't like her sending poems to.. Lawson for instance, so I still think I should stop." He was a bad boyfriend to her in giving Bunbury that ode. Even if he only wanted to to show her how special she is. He shouldn't have.

"Well, it doesn't matter now at any rate." He patted her on the arm gently.

"Nice to meet you too." Melanie returned her smile warmly.

Well now, she was being a bit modest, now wasn't she? Better than being a big head, anyway like some people would have been, bout' it. "That's good." Melanie replied simply, picking absentmindedly at the hem on the sleeve of her robes. "Maybe you can help me then... Do you know what from the students garden's on this list?" she asked, sounding hopeful once more. She didn't really like asking her for help a few minutes after meeting her; it seemed a bit rude, but she wasn't sure how else she was going to find... whatever was in the Student Garden she needed to find, without someone's assistance.

Looking to her left, Sara saw a beautiful cherry tree. She could recognized its beautiful, pink blossoms.

Reaching down onto the soft ground, Sara picked up a blossom and put it with the rest of her items in her bag.

Mina looked down at the list and thought for a second. "I've only found the blossoms so far here." She had to think back to where she found most of the samples. "I have a feeling the Forbidden Forest is where a lot of the samples are," she said. "Plus, I heard a lot of students are there right now. I'm sure it's will be easy to find what they have found."

Pink trees, hmmmm?

Well, Jake had no idea whether any of the trees on his list had pink blossom, but everyone seemed to think this was the right place, so Jake sped up and joined them, picking up a couple of blossoms from the floor that the wind had knocked of. Putting these in his pocket (a spare pocket) Jakelooked around and headed off to find some other trees, if they were in here, that is. "Heeeeere treeeeeeeee!" he said, strolling along...

Walking towards the garden, she looked around her surroundings. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, some other random things that she noticed...and then she noticed the trees. Evelyn knew those trees. She had a ton of them around her house. Smirking, she took her time to walk over, and then bent down to pick up one of the blossoms off the ground. Looking around, she continued on her walk, enjoying the nature and looking for more things on the list.

Dominic had idly been wandering about the gardens by various colors and aromas when something pink caught his eye on the ground. It wasn't Jacob Upstead's hair or a cat ... but instead, some blossoms that the seventh year had seen other students pick a few up.

One sniff told him it was from the cherry tree that was hovering. One of the requirements for the scavenger hunt, Dom was sure. Picking some blossoms up, the Head Boy added them to his collection and then scoured the gardens one more time for anything else that might be on the list.

Meh.She shouldn't have brought it up cause now him and Brody where never ever ever ever never ever gonna split up.Unless Reese stayed in her 'gone doolaly' mode and was in love with Torin; that could cause some mager problems.Brody's in love with Lawson ?! She said, after not really paying much attention to what he'd said.Her eyes widened and she giggled.Torin was in love with Bunbury and Brody was in love with Lawson and they both were dating.

...Whatever you say. She gave him a blank look as he petted her.Im not a cat.

"Huh?" he replied to that first comment, utterly confused. "No?" Where had she gotten that idea from? He was only using him as an example. He had never said anything about her being in love with the Professor.

"... Who said anything about being a cat?" Shana was making his head hurt now.

The students wandering around the garden still seemed to be looking everywhere but at the obvious. The formidable green trees near the tool shed seemed to be watching them on their hunt... and waiting, perhaps for the Yuletide season?

Spotting what he thought was another tree on the list, Tibi raced over to grab a twig.

Whew. Another one down.

He was still bummed about missing out on the Phoenix feathers, and still refusing to go into the Forest, but he was making decent progress.

As if something spoke to her, she lifted her gaze from the ground to a particular tree near a tool shed. She knew that tree as well seeing as it was around her house. Walking over, she took off a small branch, wincing at the sound of wood cracking, and looked sympathetically at the tree, silently thanking it. Turning back and almost bumping into another student, Evelyn smiled, crossing one more item off her list.

Cutting across the gardens, Copernicus spotted the lovely blossoms floating from the frothy trees. He grinned as he snagged several flowers for his collection.

Was that the end of his list? He patted his pockets for the parchment and then examined the paper closely. One... more...

His eyes lit up at the sight of the tree and he made his way toward the tool shed for the final leaves.

Celandine did a loop around the student garden and was leaning up against the tool shed when she just happened to look up. She let out a cry of surprise and picked up a few leaves, pocketing them and turning on her heel.

Oh my Merlin! Could it be? The...last item on the scavenger hunt checklist? For the second time during the hunt, LouAnn felt the need to do a little dance, showing how happy she was to have finally found another item. This time, though, this was the item---the last of the last. This would be the item to.... Well, now that she thought about it, LouAnn figured she better go and collect a twig or two before she wasted too much time. Practically skipping, LouAnn made her way to the tree, grabbed a little twig, and headed back to the area the lesson was being held in.

Abby walks around the garden looking for the elusive phoenix and abraxan feathers when she comes across a tree near the tool shed. It looks just like a Christmas Tree. Eureka! I found it. Abby carefully take a tiny branch off the tree and puts it in her bag. That's all the trees except the willow. Back to the Whomping Willow I go.

Mina looked around again and caught sight of something near the tool shed. Shaking her head, she let out a small laugh. "I think I found another sample," she smiled as she walked over. Curtsying to the tree, she smiled again. "Mr. Pine Tree may I have a few leaves from you so my hunt?" she asked. 'One must always be respectful of living things,' she told herself as she took a few leaves on two branches. "Thank you."

She turned back and walked to Melanie, handing her a branch. "Here you go," she smiled.
