"Professor Truebridge? Umm, hi," she said, her voice growing small on the last two words. Well that wouldn't do, now would it? If she was going to a Gryffindor about this whole thing, she'd have to do it with confidence. Besides, she'd just been issued a detention for every Tuesday of next school year, so at this point, what did she have to lose? Wednesdays?

*ahem*

"Professor Truebridge, I guess now would be my only opportunity to let you know how very much I enjoyed your classes this school year. I'm only sorry to hear that I will now receive just one year of instruction under you and not the three I would have. You challenged me to think outside the box, which is something I didn't think I'd ever find myself doing," she said, coming to a stop just beside Copernicus. "I'd be happy to walk with you, as well."

Raiden wanted to as well.

"I'd like to walk with you too, sir," he said quietly, firmly. "You were never anything but a good Professor to me and all your other students."

There wasn't much he could say in this situation but... well. At least he could do this.
Truebridge looked between the two students, Raiden and LouAnn and nodded a quiet thanks.

It did not escape him that there was one student from each house standing there offering to walk him out.

"There will be no walking, I'm afraid." Not if he knew Kazimeriz and his spell work.

And he really, really did know and remember.

It took him a few minutes, but Max finally rose from his seat and took the papers with him as he walked over to where Ethan was seated at the Staff Table. "Hate to do this, mate, but the old guy is serious," Vindictus said with remorse and placed the papers in Truebridge's outstretched hand.
He watched Max approach and just shrugged philosphically. It was just the way of things and he had no issue with Vindictus even if quite often the Ravenclaw Head of House did or said little things that were spookily remiscent of Kazimeriz himself.

"Take care of the stude..." Ethan was cut off as the papers were deposited in his hand. He blinked once as some unseen force picked him up by the seat of his pants carried him in a rush over to the window and tossed him through it with a shatter of glass.

Outside, Ethan stood up shakily only to be picked up again, this time by his trouser leg and once more thrown bodily quite a distance. It continued this way until he reached the front gate, which opened with a clash to reveal his things in a neat pile, several house elves standing by. They all scattered when the force of the charm on the papers picked Ethan up again and tossed him outside the gate, which clanged shut behind him.

He stood up, bowed to the house elves, collected his things and apparated away, coated in mud and dust, the disimissal papers still clutched in one hand.

Caroline's yelling was just too... weird. As she exited the hall, Iliana sat there, doe-eyed, holding Jadyn so close that they were literally cheek to cheek.

She turned her head towards Marcus when she heard him mention her name and gave him a quick nod. Yes she wanted to be there. She was eager to learn what this was all about. And what it meant for them.

Hearing Kazimeriz's unexpectedly kind words, Iliana lifted her water glass at him and tilted her head. "Directly after the feast; of course," she said. For some reason, she thought she might have even be blushing a little. Weird, WEIRD night indeed.

Before Ethan could be thrown from the building, Iliana directed her gaze to him. She watched him, her face expressionless, and gave him a sad little wave goodbye.

She jumped considerably when he was sent crashing through the window and patted Jadyn on her little back. Even though, for the last two years, Ili had felt nothing from Ethan but avoidance and dislike, it was still hard for her to see him (or anyone) go in such a fashion. "Bye," she said; her voice barely above a whisper.

Umm...oops.

In the blink of an eye, Professor Truebridge was gone, and LouAnn, Raiden, Cope, and Dom were left standing there to deal with whatever wrath Professor Kazimeriz had planned for them. If the man didn't look down on her for what she did to him before, then he'd surely have it in for her now. "Well now...people come and go so quickly around here, don't they now?" she asked, trying to laugh off the situation the best she could so as to hopefully lighten it...somehow. "I don't suppose you have any more of those papers that shoot ya on out of here, do you?"

Well...it was worth a shot. When would the Hogwarts Express arrive? This feast was just getting down right...scary.

...WHAT.

It took a second for Raiden to realise that... Professor Truebridge was gone. Some unknown force had literally picked him up and thrown him out the window. His eyes slowly turned to said window, the shattering of the glass still echoing in his ears. He hadn't understood why the man had said that there would be no walking, but now he did. He had known that this would happen?

It had been Professor Kazimeriz, hadn't it. Raiden couldn't take his eyes off the window, still too shocked over it to even think properly, but... who else would it have been? When had Professor Kazimeriz started doing such childish things? In what way was doing that to someone, whether they were a former employee now or not, considered acceptable? Especially in front of students; Raiden's own feelings had turned to staunch distaste for the old man, due to his actions. Surely he couldn't be the only one?

Unconsciously, he reached out one hand and patted LouAnn's shoulder. She... sounded as uncomfortable as he was right now.

Marcus nodded at Professor Kazimeriz and headed back to his fiancee. Well hopefully the man would be gracious enough to let him know why he had decided that he needed a position change. At least he was allowing Iliana to attend the meeting.

Speaking of his future wife. What was with the blushing at the old man? Marcus raised an eyebrow at her and a small smirk spread across his face as he bent down toward her. "Hmmm...should I be jealous?" he asked with a chuckle as he kissed the top of her head.

As he straightened up, Marcus turned in time to see his friend literally being thrown out the window. Well...that was a rather dramatic exit wasn't it. He sat down beside Iliana and picked up his glass of water and took a small sip. He felt sorry for his friend being ousted in public like that, he wouldn't wish that on his worst enemy.

Copernicus couldn't think of a single reaction as he watched his favorite professor and mentor manhandled right out the window. He hadn't even had a chance to say good bye to the man, nor had he been given the choice to leave the school under his own momentum. It showed a distinct lack of respect from Kazimeriz, not just for Truebs but for the entire student body, and the man sunk considerably in Copernicus's estimation.

Well. He was a seventh year, and thus granted a few rites of freedom the rest of the students were lacking. "Headmaster Kazimeriz," he spoke loudly enough that he hoped the man would hear him (and maybe some of the students too?). "I will return to my seat and let the feast resume peaceably, but I cannot do so in good conscience without formally lodging a complaint about the treatment of Professor Truebridge. He deserved the right to walk out of this school, and if you think so little of him, and so little for us that you must put on such a display, you may not be suited for this new role in Headmaster Bontecou's absence. I will be submitting a letter to the Minister about this scene, and I suggest my classmates do so as well."

He turned on his heel and stalked back to his seat, leaving Celandine and the other students standing at the head table. He was sick of school politics.

Obviously torn, Celandine watched Copernicus return to the Ravenclaw table. She had put enough distance between herself and the students that had stood to back Truebridge to make it clear that she was not standing with them. Cel liked Truebridge well enough, but not enough to stand in opposition of Kazimeriz. Who was still her favourite in the whole wide world.

She wavered a bit after seeing the former History of Magic professor tossed out the window and even more when Copernicus left the dais. But... she couldn't really do the same. Instead she smiled at Prof... Headmaster Kazimeriz and at Prof... Deputy Headmaster Vindictus, (strangely the only two who she hadn't tied up by the shoelaces at the opening feast during her third year) and then offered a nervous smile for the other staff.

Not many of them now.

"I... I hope you all have a good summer." She peeked over at Kazimeriz again. "See you next term Pro...Headmaster Kazimeriz."

She paused a beat and then, "I can fix that window if you like, sir?"

Not for points of course, the time for earning points was over. No, this was her way of saying that she believed he knew best. Cela wouldn't be questioning him. Nuh-uh. No way.

Alessia stood and addressed the only student who seemed to be sane, "Miss Toussaint, thank you for offering, but you do not need to worry about the window. The house elves are already working on that."

Alessia then looked over to her godfather. "Headmaster, please excuse me... I've had enough of emotional reactions of children and of foolish nurses." The students had turned Truebridge into a Martyr... and the man was NOT dead! He had a chance to walk out on his own. He chose not to take it.

She walked out of the great hall. Whatever Kazimirez's reasons, or his motivations, which NO ONE bothered to think of, obviously, the students should have acted with more respect. She had failed them as a professor.

Torn between wanting to listen to the rules and Professor Lupa, returning to his seat and wanting to stand up for his favorite professor, Dominic just stood there. Banishing spell? Really now? Especially when she called him a child, because whether she liked it or not, he was of wizarding age. Therefore, a legal adult.

But there was something between the Healer - who walked out but not before putting on an AWESOME display - Headmaster Kazimeriz - and of course Truebridge that kept his feet glued to the spot. WHAT?!? Professor Truebridge sacked in the interest of education welfare of the students? Merlin's beard; that was the biggest lie he'd ever heard. If it was in the interest of the students, Truebridge wouldn't have been sacked and Kazimeriz knew it.

Smiling at Professor Truebridge for a brief moment when he said he wished to say farewells to his former students, Dominic waited. And then Kettleburn joined the gathering, stating that they would be honored to escort him out. That was true; he would be honored to escort Truebridge from the castle. Except there was something Kazimeriz's tone and words that let the Head boy know otherwise... The way the ancient one smirked at him and Kettleburn.

And as predicted, no walking... and Dominic watched wide-eyed as his favorite professor and role model was man-handled from the Great Hall. Truly shocked, Dom looked at Kettleburn and then to Raiden and LouAnn, of who he just noticed had joined them at the dias to assist with walking Truebridge out. One from each house, he didn't fail to notice either. That was besides the point though; point was that his favorite professor had just been shown lack of respect and dignity that he deserved.

Something that Kettleburn let the new Headmaster know; and articulated his words PERFECTLY. "Well said," Dom murmured to the Ravenclaw seventh year, just before he walked back towards his own house table; because he so agreed. Turning to address Kazimeriz himself, because he could mostly; "Headmaster," Dominic began, trying to compose his words. "Before I return my seat until the close of the feast, I want to also express my disappointment in your treatment of Professor Truebridge. With all that he has done for the students and even for the other staff, it breaks me that you belittle him so, holding past grudges and bias against him. Like Mr Kettleburn, you can bet that I too will be writing to the Minister this summer about your new assumed position"

And just like his colleague, Dominic nodded once and turned to head back towards the table of gold and black. This feast needed to be over.

Headmaster Kazimeriz watched Truebridge be whisked out the window, not reacting as the stained glass shattered and the former professor was yanked forcibly from the hall. There was a still, strange and truly unreadable expression on his face.

It was done.

Though it lasted a mere moment, it was a warm, rich laugh that rang through the hall... The laugh of your favourite grandfather, perhaps (the one lets you stay up late on summer nights, plays checkers with you and lets you have an extra cookie BEFORE supper).

"Baum.' The Wizard of Oz'." he nodded with a wry smile. "I'd give you 5 points for that muggle studies reference if I could at this juncture. Witty and most appropriate to the ...the situation. Thank you."

With that, he finally -- FINALLY -- was able to take a seat, taking the weight off his damaged hip. He sipped his water silently as he sat in the headmaster's chair, looking out at the students in their sea of black robes. Watching them.

Celandine had been about to answer professor Lupa when she left and Cel smiled softly and unsurely at Kazimeriz, understanding what he really meant with his answer. She was admittedly unsettled by this whole thing, as well as the absence of the charms professor. Where was professor Ashby anyway?

She waved nervously at the remaining professors and went over to the window to help the house elves fix it and clean up.

As soon as she was done she glanced back over her shoulder and hesitating in an obvious way, she went over to the Ravenclaw table to find Copernicus.

Happy Anniversary and all that, you know?
