Smile The Sorting Hat
First year students and transfers file up one-by-one to try on the sorting hat. this ancient, magical, hat has been placing students in their houses for centuries. So, don't be scared and don't be shy, step on up and see where the Gryffindor's old hat will put you...


OOC: Please note that the sorting hat is not played so, if you are a first year or transfer student, please just step up and role play your sorting, if you wish. You are allowed to RP for the sorting hat since only you know your character well enough to do so.

Brunhild looked up at the bewitcheded ceiling as she waited for her name to be called. She wasn't scared like those around her seemed to be. She had heard about Hogwarts alll her life...now she would finally get to see what it was like.
"Malfoy, Brunhild!"
She strode to the front confidently and placed the tattered old hat on her head. She hoped it wouldn't put her in Hufflepuff, but she was so glad to be there she'd take any House. After all, since the Malfoys had started de-bunking the tradition of being placed in Slytherin, it didn't really matter where she went. "So, you don't want to be in Hufflepuff?" a voice said in her ear. "What a shame. Your sense of justice and fair-mindedness...you would do well there. Well, if you're sure it had better be..."
"Slytherin!" the hat yelled. And Brunhild left to join the Slytherin table.

Grace wasn't very excited when she was waiting with all the others. Her parents had told her very much about Hogwarts and of course they had told her of the Sorting Hat. And Grace was pretty sure that she would be sorted into Slytherin like her parents.
After a while her name was called and she went to the chair and put the Sorting Hat on her head. Now she was a little bit nervous. She thought of her mother and of her father and what they would say if she wasn't sorted into Slytherin. But then the Sorting Hat said loudly: Slytherin!
And Grace walked happily to the Slytherin housetable.
