The Ancient Runes Office that had once belonged to Professors Iccunnav, Rierdan, Opterix, De Luca and Clark could no longer be recognized in its new state.

The walls had been painted a sassy lilac color, and pictures of medieval renaissance of ladies and their knights had been strung all around. Alessia Nicoletta Lupa had always had a flair for the romantic.

In the back a recent addition... a vanishing cabinet which led to her Head of House office in the dungeons.

She had set up a Neapolitan Moka espresso pot in a corner on an old fashioned cast iron parlor stove she never left behind. The small iron stove had etched in it the Sowilo rune for warmth and the Ingwaz rune for familial love.

There were bookshelves, but they had been disillusioned and there was no desk and no chairs, but in the middle of the office there was what could be best described as a very large round fluffy ottoman. The odd furniture piece was shorter than knee level and from the circumference to about a foot in, had been upholstered in fluffy lilac faux fur, the softest anyone ever felt. In the center of it, was a round wooden piece, same height as the rest of it. On it, placed neatly in a circle, were ten antique demitasse cups, overturned on their saucers and in the center a large platter, in the same pattern, on which the house elves would deliver daily cookie, or cake, or anything sweet that fancied Alessia at the time.

The china was a gift from her mother, who’d received if from her mother before that… and so one from generations, and she was to give it to her daughter… a sore spot for her.

Alessia doesn’t believe in closed doors, unless who she is meeting with at the time needs privacy to talk. So if she is alone on her office, she is no doubt meditating on her ‘fluffy’ (the name she calls the ottoman like piece of furniture,) so the door will be open, if there is someone in the office with her, the door will be shut.

Abby looks at her watch. "Sorry professor for keeping you so long and thank you for reminding me about the time. I need to head down to Professor Morgan's hut. She holding COMC class at midnight tonight." Abby had hoped she'd get some more information from Professor Lupa. I guess she as much in the dark as I am where these stones are concerned.

"No Miss Wright, Miss Morgan's class is in a few days. I know because it's being held at the full moon and I would be quarantined by the ministry if that was the case. Just go back to your dorm and get some rest. Feel better. Bye now" She said holding the door open for the girl.

She saw the two students in her waiting area. "Miss Smith... Master Kettleburn... please come in."

Copernicus entered the office and hovered near the door. Ugh. He didn't want to touch ANYTHING in the filthy werewolf's office, and he certainly wasn't going to sit down.

"Professor. You wanted to see me?"

"I did Master Kettleburn... but not for the same reason I had wanted to earlier." She sat and looked at the door, Miss Smith had not come in yet, "What's wrong? Is it NEWT stress? You were cavalier in class, defending me from Master Newtington... and then on the seventh floor, you were rude and disrespectful." She said visibly hurt. "What's bothering you?"

And he was especially NOT opening up to HER. What was she thinking? Filthy thing...

He couldn't keep his lip from curling, but at least his answer was civil. "As you say, Professor. It must be NEWT stress, and the unfortunate realization that I'm leaving my school home and friends and girlfriend in just a few months."

"Master Kettleburn," She said sweetly. "You have me worried." She said smiling. She had interrupted him with his girlfriend and the poor boy wanted to cherish every moment. "I'm sure you see your girlfriend and friends when you are off from the university... will you still be attending one of the two I sent recommendations to?"

"I'm going to Egypt," Copernicus responded shortly. "Cel and I talked about whether or not Italy would be better, and she thinks it would be best to do what is best for me. The commute to visit is the same."

"Good... Egypt is good... more sites." She said smiling at him. "I'm glad she has a sensible head and didn't ask you to remain here." She said and smiled. "But you will need to control your stress level. I will send a note to the school nurse and you can pick up a calming draught. No more outbursts, yes?" She asked sweetly and extended her hand for him to shake.

"Yes, thank you," Copernicus stared at her hand. NO WAY. NO WAY IN HADES WAS HE TOUCHING THAT HAND. In a moment of panic, he chose the worst possible option.

He reached toward her as if to take her hand. Halfway there, he stumbled, hitting her desk hard, first with his arm and then with his face.

"No. No, Professor," Copernicus winced and backed away from her. "I'll just go to the infirmary. I'm sure Miss Melita can heal me up in a jiffy." He really didn't want her touching him. AT ALL.

"See that you see the nurse..." she said looking at him. He said it was NEWTs and leaving Hogwarts... she needed to be understanding and not take it personally,

"Thank you, Professor," Copernicus hurried for the door, wincing as he tried to open it with his sore (broken??) arm. He opened it with his left hand and scurried for the hallway.

"You just do the arithmetic addition of your name using the arithmancy principals, and once you add them together that number is your Rowling Rune." She said... best she could do under the circumstances.

"Ok professor i'll go thanks" she said and turned towards the door, 'should i ask the professor' she thought and couldn't control herself and spoke "Professor, i was wondering whether what's your fav. food " she said as fast as she could.

"Oh, cake thats my fav. too professor, thanks professor you're very nice, i really like to be in your class" she said smiling and looked at professor with twinkles in her eyes.
