'The job of the chaser' Marie thought. "Sir, the chasers are the ones who throw the quaffle through the hoops to score points for their team," Marie said as she shivered and wrapped her robes tighter trying to get warm.

Herminny raised her hand to answer yet another question and answered saying, The chaser is responsible for obtaining the quaffle and trying to get it through one of the opposing teams three goal hoops to score 10 points.".

"Besides scoring, chasers also need to have very good reflexes in order to dodge the bludgers the opposite team aims at them," Added Willow from her spot. "Even if protecting the chasers and other players is part of the beaters' job. So, yes. Good reflexes are a must, too."

One couldn't do everything, even if you were as perfect as she was.

Hmph.

Tibi bounced a little to keep warm, bundled as he was in layer after layer of winter clothing. Wrapped as he was, only the tip of his nose and his eyes were visible. Otherwise, he was a walking ball of clothes.

Frankly, he thought it might provide good padding should he fall, too.

In any case, he listened attentively to the questions about Quidditch. He'd read it, but he just didn't quite get it.

Raising her hand, while still keeping her arm close to her body in order to keep it warm Zoe replied, "The Chaser's on each team try to score points by getting the quaffle through the hoops and past the opposing teams Keeper, sir. They also have to outmanouver their opponents while passing the quaffle down the field of play."

Cela tossed her hand up.

"Chasers give the crowd something fun and exciting to watch while the seekers do their thing."

Plymouth looked around to see who all had noticed HE had gotten extra points. Yes, Ravenclaw, do thank Plymouth Morgan. Because he was doing so good, he gave the Chasers answer a shot.

Up his hand went again after he spit his whistle out, "I'm pretty sure they've got it easiest of all. They just cruise around, playing catch with the quaffle. I mean it can't be TOO easy since they are FLYING with one hand and all," Plymouth shook his head, disbelieving that ANYONE would willingly fly with one hand. It was SO dangerous, "but really, they just try to score by throwing the quaffle at the Keeper and hoping he or she fails. They gloat in the failure of the other teams' Keeper." Plymouth shook his head sadly. Poor Keepers.

"Very good! Two points each to Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor and Slytherin for your answers," Vindictus exclaimed and his eyes fell upon Jakers. Now for my favorite position. "Who can tell me what the Beaters do and for three extra points to the first two Houses to answer correctly, the first rule in the Beater's Bible?"

Jack raised his hand. "Well, the Beaters are equiped with bats to hit the bludgers at the opposing team members," he explained. "And the first rule of the Beaters bible is..." he paused and frowned, "is to take out the seeker," he explained.

And people didn't get why he was so stressed all the time! He had WILLOW KOVAC out to kill him!

Ooh! Ooh! Livvy's hand flew up into the air. "Their job is to hit the bludgers with their bats to take out members of the opposing team. And the first rule of the Beater's Bible is to take out the seeker!" she yelled out, with a smirk on her face.

Fred had read about quiddich so he knew the answer to this question saing, "The beaters job is to protect his tams chasers by knocking the bludger way from them and toward the other teams chaser or if possible the ideal is to get the other teams seeker.".

'Beater's bible? Wha?' Evelyn, even though loved quidditch and the new almost everything on the different positions, didn't know if the professor was serious or not on that. "They hit the bludgers to the opposing team members with a small bat while also protecting their own team members from bludgers that are being hit towards them. Usually the beaters would want to aim for the seekers i think. I mean, no seeker for one team is like free reign for the other teams seeker! Frankly i think they are the most amusing to watch during a game. You never know when a certain bludger is gunna knock a player off...their...broom..." she breathed out. 'Hmm...maybe that's going a bit too far.' she thought, glancing toward Destiny for a split moment giving her a was-that-too-much? look.

"Besides hitting bludgers to..knock..I mean, redirecting them towards the opposite team, the Beaters are also supposed to protect their own team from bludgers" yes, true isn't it? And how did she know?

"Take out the Seeker" she answered, after raising her hand, it was rather to think of Jake in that position when bludgers were involved.

Cela's hand went up again. "Beaters have nice arms. And also, the stunts they do look the coolest."

"The beater keeps the bludger away from the chasers on their own team" Marie said as she had her hand in the air.

"We take out the Seeker, chaser and keeper, too, if we can, yeah!"

... Willow sounded perhaps just little bit too cheerful over the prospect of knocking people off their brooms and leaving the unconscious for a little while.

"The chaser," LouAnn said, her freezing cold hand up in the air once again, "try to get the quaffle past the keeper and into the hoop. They toss the quaffle back and forth to other chasers until one of them can hopefully get it through the hoop."

...Oh, wait.

They'd moved on to another answer now? LouAnn blamed the coldness. It was clearly the weather's fault.

"Beaters....rather...use bats to hit bludgers. Their goal is to keep the bludgers from hitting the other players. Oh, and that first rule would be to take out the seeker," she said.

Plymouth miiiiight have sent an itty bitty glance to his arms after Cela's answer. Might have. Hehe


He raised his ARM slowly, purposefully, maybe flexing a little?

"Beaters have no purpose except to HURT people. They just want to hurt everyone on the field wearing opposite colors. They're really quite scary. They'll hit the Chaser if they've got the quaffle, they'll hit the other Beaters just to be mean, they'll hit the Keeper - though that's probably not totally unwanted by the Keeper, put them out of their misery, you know? They're just big bullies, really. 'Cept Willow. WOWZA." Plymouth WINKED at Miss Kovac affectionately.

Raising her hand timidly again Zoe replied, "The beaters have to be the most vicious on the team I think. They have to get that crazy ball the bludger to go after the opposing teams members and also they need to protect their team mates at the same time."

Zoe had never heard of any Quidditch Bible before. Shrugging she stuffed her hands deeper inside of her cloak trying to find some semblance of warmth.

Kylie raised her hand, "Beaters protect the chasers from being hit by bludgers as best they can.. and.. their number one goal is to, well, take out the seeker." Kylie answered kurtly.

Destiny gave Evelyn a thumbs up. A beater was Destiny's favourite Quidditch position. Buuut, she was a little slow with answering the questions today, so she just kept quiet. Evelyn was doing a good job anyway!

Vindictus couldn't help but chuckle at Willow. The girl's response was cheerful considering the violent nature of the game. But he was the same way when he was in school.... "Excellent! Two points for each House and Ravenclaw and Gryffindor get the three extra points for their correct answers regarding the Beater's Bible," he began and an idea popped into his head. A brilliant one, at that. "We all know that the glorified position in the game is that of Seeker and that the game ends with the capture of the Snitch. Now my original plan for today's lesson was to practice throwing the Quaffle around and smashing Bludgers at each other but the weather is a wee bit too cold for that. However, we have snow. Lots of snow."

He stopped and looked at the class. "Today, we're going to have a flying snowball fight. Does everyone know how to have a snowball fight?"

Well that seemed like a rather simple concept so Fred raised his hand and said, "Is it you gather snow and then take to the skys and throw the snow while in the air at someone else flying through the air on a broom?".

Evelyn smiled widely at the thought of actually getting up and really fly with bludgers and everything...but then her excited deflated when she heard they were going to use snowballs. So not as fun...

'Doesn't everyone know how to have a snowball fight?' she thought, raising a brow. 'I've never been in one, but seriously...just common knowledge.' Evelyn saw Destiny give her a thumbs up making her smile again.

Plymouth Morgan was ... not entirely wrong when he said EXCEPT Willow.

Not entirely.

But he'd been. Just a little bit.

As it was, though, Willow gave him a bright beam (hey - this was Flying lesson, therefore, her mood was THE best), before turning her attention back to Vindictus, who was praising the seekers.

PFFT PFFT PFFT.

Seekers were overrated. Were it not for the beaters, they wouldn't even MAKE it to the first half of the match. Hmph.

Then again ... Willow was not sure she could handle seeking. Hmm. "It's like a normal snowball fight, sir, except that we will be on brooms. So we have to be careful to not fall off our brooms while aiming snowballs at each other." Not that she would fall. No, never. But ... there were always people. "I suppose that the little snowballs will be already on the air, though? So we can catch them as though they were a snitch?"
