"Yeah...I remember a few years ago when the quaffle hit dad by accident as we were playing...It was a bit funny"she laughed"By the way i've gone to the tryouts...If i'm lucky enough i'll be the chaser...But i'm not sure though...Let's hope i did it"Ginny winked her sister and she leaned forward to speed up. |
SPOILER!!: unicornkeeper07 "Oh, I wouldn't say my flying was perfect, but at least I'm getting back to where I used to be. Being out of a regular school for two years really did a number on my ability to fly," she replied. She shrugged when he said her turn was a little wide for his taste. She thought she did pretty good, but then again, she wasn't actually watching herself. "You did really good, too. I think you should definitely make the quidditch team!" "Alright, let's practice some more! I bet class is almost done for the day," she said, steering her broom around so that when she took off she wouldn't fly right into the boy. When she was facing the complete opposite direction, she leaned forward and dashed off down the pitch. She had practiced at least one of everything they were meant to do, right? She thought so, at least. She thought she'd done more than one of everything, actually. When she reached the end of the pitch, she steered the broom around, trying not to make her turn so wide this time. |
Zoe saw some of the other students doing more and more risky tricks with their brooms and was interested in joining them, but a little nervous at the prospect. She started slowly flying in great big circles contemplating the pros and cons of trying something crazy. |

As he mimed pushing off, he actually left the ground, this time eyes wide open. "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" He cried as he rose off the ground a foot, two feet... His broom jerked shakily as it rose. Forgetting what would happen, Tibi immediately bent over and wrapped his arms around the stick. ZOOM. The broom took off and Tibi clenched his eyes shut, before having visions of crashing into the castle. He opened them, and they were already full of tears. He tried to steer, but was terrified of sitting up, even though that would slow him down. As the broom turned and made its way past the group again, he managed out a 'heeeellllllp' as the broom sped past. Circling again, this time even higher, Tibi's breathed in sharp, panicky breaths. He had to sit up. He knew that. Closing his eyes, he jerked his body up straight and the broom jerked to a stop. The force from the stop jostled Tibi and, eyes still closed, he felt himself lose his balance and roll to the side. Legs still wrapped around the broomstick, Tibi hung then, upside down, arms over? under? his head cloak flapping in the wind. Thank goodness for the harness. "Um... help?" he managed to squeak out, eyes still shut tight. |
Sitting on his broom still, he pulls up a bit, as he comes near the ground. Reaching down with one hand, he picks up his wand off the ground, and soars back up into the air. Whoa! That was awesome! he thinks excitedly to himself. I wonder if I can fly upside down again... holding tightly to his wand this time, as well as the broom, he tips sideways slightly. Which of course, turns him upside down! Grinning from ear to ear, he zooms down the pitch upside down. "Weeeeeeeeeeeee" he shrieks. |
Evelyn breathed out a contented sigh. It seemed like she was sitting on the broom for years, just looking out at the beautiful view, even if it was only a few minutes. Deciding that she better do something before getting in trouble, Evelyn started slowly flying around above everyone, looking at how they were doing; noticing one in particular. Was he just hovering upside down? 'There are some strange, strange people here.' she thought, as she started picking up speed, flying around the pitch as fast as she could. |

He thought he should work on taking off a bit. He zoomed down to the ground at a moderate speed and touched down and did a little run when doing so. Then, he laid down his broom beside him and decided to try it in English of calling the broom up. He held his hand over and shouted, "Up!" The broom was a little jerky and wasn't as nearly as fast as when he said it in Romanian. Oh well, he thought as he mounted his broom once more and pushed hard off the ground. Rafe whooshed to LouAnn once more and did a bit of a donut spin around her, not getting too close and then coming to a halt once more. |
Marie still stood there staring at her broom laying on the ground. 'It is now or never' she thought as she held her hand over her broom and said "Up". Nothing happened, the broom just layed there. "UP" she shouted. This time the broom zoomed up into her hand. Marie now mounted the broom and stood there for a minute. Heart racing she thought about how it was going to feel once her feet left the ground. Marie was just about to kick off when she noticed a broom coming towards her with someone hanging upside down. Now she was not so sure she wanted to kick off, what if that happened to her, what would she do then she thinks. |
Watch double posting ;), just combine the two posts, when posting twice Quote:
Rolling sideways again, he rights himself, and lands a few feet from her. "Hi! Do you need some help?" He knew he was only a first year, but he seemed to have gotten the hang of this flying thing. And it was AWESOME!!! |

Once LouAnn had successfully steered her broom around, she flew back down the pitch in the direction she'd come from. She passed by a few first years and smiled at them, happy to see they were doing well. There hadn't been any catastrophes yet, thank Merlin. Her eyes glanced down towards that Ravenclaw boy with the whistle. He had yet to tempt the skies, but she guessed he was busy with that whistle and all. The lesson couldn't be lasting too much longer, though, seeing as they'd been flying for quite a while. An hour or so, LouAnn would guess. She leaned forward on the broom, feeling the wind beat firmly against her face as she dashed down the pitch. Before she reached the very end, she pulled back on the broom and came to a stop, hovering in place for a few minutes before taking off again. |
Zoe decided against any drastic moves, since going to the Hospital wing wasn't on her list of things she wanted to do today. Instead she decided to work on the thing she had done the worst on so far. Calling her broom to her and taking off. She hovered for a moment, just enjoying the sun on her face before heading back down to the ground. |

This was even more of a disaster than he'd worried about. |
Landing gently on the ground Zoe dismounted and laid her broom on the ground. "Up," she called. Luckily there was no hesitation on the part of the broom this time. She mounted and soared up higher and higher into the sky before coming to a halt up by the goal posts of the Quidditch field. Zoe watched the boy start the yell and wished that she was close enough to lend a hand. "It's okay help is coming she called. Just take deep breathes." At least she thought help was coming. Didn't he have an older boy helping him? |
Deciding to practice a smooth landing at least one more time, LouAnn pulled back on her broom and headed back down to the ground. When her feet touched down, she expected to stumble a little as she did last time, but she didn't. The landing was, in her eyes at least, pretty darn good. Not wasting a single second, she kicked off from the ground and flew upwards again, passing by a few students as she made her way to the opposite end of the pitch. She made a few laps around it, cutting corners to the best of her ability and adjusting her speed when needed. This little refresher course seemed to be just what she needed to be back in the air---hopefully for good this time! |
Maybe I should go for help, Zoe thought to herself. Leaning forward on her broom she darted down towards the professor swooshing past with a gust of air she just missed him and landed roughly on the ground. No more emergency fast landings, she decided. Then panting a bit she pointed up to the distressed boy and said, "Professor, I think that boy is in trouble." |

"Just remember, you can't go above 4 feet off the ground, and you have control of the broom." he says soothingly. "Just push off very lightly off the ground. The harder you push the higher you will go at first." |

"Hi JD, I'm Marie, thanks for helping me." Marie grabbed hold of the broom with both hands, heart still beating fast. "OK, push off lightly, I think I can do this." Marie gave a little push and before she knew it she was hovering a few inches from the ground. Trying not to fall off the broom she looks around to make sure she wasn't dreaming. Nope, not dreaming, really on a broom here. |
ooc: Hey, The1HBIC, please don't double post ^^ Rafe continued to fly around and tested his skills. He would zoom really fast and then stop abruptly. He would do it again and again. He continued to try the sloth grip roll and flew upside down a bit. He was really tempted to try the Starfish and Stick move, but knew he would probably lose a lot of points or could get detention and he couldn't afford either. Instead, he practiced flying upside down but with swerves and turns, but then he was getting a head rush and began to fly normally once more. He decided to work on his land, so he flew to the ground and great speed and when he was just a few feet from the ground he jumped off acrobatically and stood next to his broom. |
OK, now to actually move Marie thought to herself. What was it the professor said to do? Oh yeah, lean forward. Marie slowly leaned forward and before she knew it she was flying. Not flying fast but she was flying. |
Nodding with encouragement, he smiles at her. "Nice to meet you Marie. You're doing just fine." Mounting his broom, he stays at a distance, to help if she needs it. "Just keep taking deep breathes, it will calm you after awhile." I definitely know that one, that seems like the only thing I could do, for weeks! Watching her move a little faster. He smiles, a bit more. She seems to be getting the hang of it! |

Spotting a first year Slytherin make a really nice effort to begin flying, LouAnn smiled in her direction then continued making laps around the pitch. The more she flew, the more she wished she had tried out for the house quidditch team. It wasn't as hard to get back into flying as she once thought it was, but hey, there was always next school year. As she flew past a goal post, she got a rather sad look in her eyes, wishing she could stand guard at it and play a good game of quidditch. No use dwelling on that for too long, though. She steered her broom around and took off in the opposite direction, smiling as she enjoyed the feel of the cool breeze blowing past her. |
