The Great Oak Tree on the Grounds (Ancient Rune - Lesson 3)
 

Alessia was smiling and radiant as she stepped out on the grounds by the great oak tree... "Now this is MUCH better... No more Barking Dogs!" Peace and Quiet... Oh... Yes... and the students. "Are you all ready to learn about the Great Tree Spread?" She took her bag of runes out of her pocket and found a place on the ground under the shade of the tree to sit under.

Chris had followed close to Professor Lupa as she led them outside to the tree that they had just stepped under. He walked over and found a place to sit close by so he could see her rune set.

Jacoby followed Proffessor lupa looked around and sat down in the shade. Making sure he was in a good place to learn but not be seen too much. He then waited for class to continue.

Becca followed the crowd to The Great Oak Tree, and immeadiatly noticed to quite, serene feel. It was nice. She sat down quickly nearby a fifth year Gryffindor, who also seemed eager to learn.

Jack plopped down on the ground, thankful that it wasn't too damp, and waited for class to begin.

LouAnn glanced at Professor Lupa with a sort of sad look when she heard her mention how much the barking was bothering her. LouAnn had tried to stop someone from rescuing Professor Lupa, an act that she was really starting to regret. It'd just seemed like the right thing to do at the time, but now...it most definitely didn't.

She plopped down on the ground near the professor and nodded in reply to the question. She was ready to learn, but would she be able to understand it? She just had no confidence at all sometimes. Professor Lupa hadn't failed her yet, though.

Feeling only... okay, he was real annoyed at having to come outside. He would rather have stayed in the total warmth and protection. Dragging Tibi by the sleeve when he was sure they both had their stuff, Jake plonked himself down nearish Lupa, feeling the stones in his pocket suddenly scatter out across the ground.

"Gosh freakin' darn it," the boy whispered, scooping up the stones and shoving them ALL back into his pocket, keeping a hand there to barricade them in. That being done, Jake looked back up to Lupa.

Tree?

How convenient.

Marilyn had to hand it to Professor Lupa. It was a beautiful day and the perfect setting to study Ancient Runes...And no more barking! Marilyn had already had a headache and was pleased about getting out of the classroom and into the fresh air.

She found a spot near the Professor and removed her cloak. Spreading it out like a blanket, she sat opening up her notebook.

Ermm....

Livvy followed the professor out from the Ancient Runes classroom and all the way out on the grounds. She continued to follow the woman as they made their way to an oak tree. Glancing around briefly, Livvy made her way towards where the professor had seated herself, and sat down next to Chris, smiling brightly at the Gryffindor boy. The spot was just right. A nice comfy grassy and shady area and a nice view of the professor's rune set.

The Ravenclaw girl waited for what would be happening next. Let's doooooo something.

Theo sat down on the floor. He was going to pay attention. He had even waited to take his tablet until just before the lesson. That way he wouldn't be as inattentive as usual. "I don't want to learn about a tree," Theo frowned, "I want to learn about runes."

ANOTHER class outside? Were the teachers really trying to torture them? What? Was it like..oh I don't know, freezing! Nikki walked to the Great Oak Tree, sulking. She hated the cold, it was never this cold in Italy, never, it was chilly, but never freezing my butt off cold. "Hello Professor." She said as she walked past the women. She found a nice little spot to sit, and settled down, trying to warm herself.

Marie followed the professor and the other students outside. She noticed another student from her house sitting near the professor so she sat down there.
"Hi" Marie got out everything she would need for class then realized she didn't know the name of the girl she was sitting by. Looking back at her she said "My name is Marie, what's yours?"

Shivering slightly, Wesley wished she wouldv'e known they where going to be outside. She would have worn an extra sweater, at least.

Maybe she shouldv'e read the announcement board better, but it was too late now. There was nothing she could do. Class had started, and she was outside, sitting on the ground.

And her butt was getting cold.

Pulling her robes closer, Wesley pulled out her textbook and parchment, placing them in front of her on the slightly soggy grass, and then nodded seriously to Professor Lupa's question. The Great Tree Spread sounded like it involved a lot of rune tossing, or at least a lot of something, more than any other usual rune casting. Because trees where big, so great trees had to be bigger.

Scrutinizing the oak in front of her, Wesley wondered how big great trees where exactly. Bigger than the castle?

Marilyn was so caught up in her thoughts that she didn't even realize someone had sat beside her until they spoke. Only a little startled, she looked to the girl and down at her robes. Slytherin...thank god. She personally couldn't take anymore Gryffindor today.

Offering her best smile, she introduced herself."My name's Marilyn. It's a pleasure to meet you Marie."

'An outdoor Runes class? Great.' It was not great actually. She knew bad things happened in this class and now they were out in the open with nowhere to hide if that crazy Jake character decided to act all crazy. She wanted to sit as far away from him as possible, but since everyone was like, huddled by Lupa, Destiny just took a seat next to Evelyn. 'She better protect me.' she thought as she smiled at her.

Kylie walked out to the oak tree along with the remainder of her class. Outdoor class? I mean.. it's a bit chilly for that... but whatever. Kylie got out all of her books and waited for Professor Lupa to continue.

Matheu followed the group out to the Great Oak Tree. He took out his textbooks, notebook, and runes. He waited for Lupa to continue.

Kay ran to catch up with everyone else, and she saw Marie. Kay walked over to where Marie had sat down. "Hi Marie. How have you been?" Kay said as she sat down on top of her robe. It was still a little cool outside and Kay didn't want to get sick again. She waved her wand and tapped herself on the head. 'Oh, warm' Kay said to herself. She got her things out and waited for the Professor to start.

"Oh... no actually..." She was really just trying to run away from the barking, "but it works out nicely doesn't it." She said with a big smile.

"Jake!" She said looking at him... werewolf hearing was a curse for the students...

"Thank you, Master Lycoan." She said beeming.

"You are going to learn about runes Master Newtington... and runes are based in nature... so trees are a part of runes." She said looking over to him and Kettleburn... if these two started something she was going to slap them in the head with a book...

"Oh hello there..." She smiled.

"Alrighty... let's review a bit... Who can tell me how one goes about making a wooden rune set?" She asked.

Chris raised his hand. "Well when making a rune set you want to pick earth things to make them with, like stone or wood. Wood is common because of its root is earthand its branches are up in the sky. You first get a sutible tree and then get the wood from it. Then you will shape into into the rune shape and then chant the name fo the rune and breath life into them." he said happily.

OHEEP.

Livvy smiled cheerfully up at Perni and bent her head down as the boy ruffled up her hair. He always seemed to be after the hair. Her beautiful, precious... hair. She patted Copernicus on the shoulder, replying, "Hi Perni. Same as usual."

She then looked over at the crazy looking professor when the woman began to speak up. Blink. Blink. Sometimes Livvy wished she had paid more attention in Ancient Runes. Just. Sometimes. She smiled proudly over at Chris and decided that it'd just be copying if she answered after him.

Kay put her hand up to answer the professor. "You would have to make sure to pick the right type of wood. You should ask for the wood so as not to make the Bowtruckle that might live there mad. Next after you have the wood, start to shape it. Put the Rune shapes on the wood. Say the names of the runes as you do this to being life to them." Kay answered and hope she was close to the right answer.

"Very good Prefect Potter." She said smiling and leaning against the tree. "One point."

"Very good Miss Evans..." she said with a giggle... "One point."

"Yes, you should leave an offering. One Point." She said.

"Good Job... Runes are based in Norse Mythology, can anyone tell me what tree is found in Norse mythology?" She asked.

Herminny quickly raised her hand and said, "I believe the tree in Norse mythology is called Yggdrasil.".

Mina raised her hand quickly. "Yggdrasil, the world tree."

Oh. Well she knew this.

The short Ravenclaw girl flung her hand up into the air, proud that she was able to answer a question. "The Yggdrasil, commonly known as the 'World Tree' is a part of Norse mythology. It was said that the branches and roots of the tree held together all nine worlds."

It was luke Supertree.

Everyone was saying the name of the tree, but Destiny couldn't even pronounce that word! Raising her hand she asked 'That tree, isn't it an ash tree?' Why did they have to name it something crazy?

"The tree is called Yggdrasil. It connects all nine worlds." Kat said with her hand in the air. Kay was wondering way Marie was being so quite.

Marie had heard of this before, raising her hand she said "I believe Yggdrasil is the world tree in Norse mythology. Yggdrasil is central in Norse cosmology, and around it exist nine worlds."

"Very good! One point to all who answered. Alrighty now..." she said pulling her bag closer to her. "The Great Tree spread is a FIVE rune spread that helps you gain insight into an individual's character. So your question should be very specific to a person." She help the rune close to her heart and asked "Will the new minister of magic be good in her position."

She opened her rune bag and pulled out a white silk cloth laying it on the ground. She then pulled a rune out and placed it upon the cloth around the top left side:

"Alright... What rune is that, and what is it's meaning?" She asked.

Destiny moved closer just so she could see the rune. She must get a new pair of glasses. She sat back down and opened her book to look up the rune. Raising her hand and squinting she said 'That is Sowilo. It means the sun, I think.' Well that didn't make sense. What does the sun have to do with that question?

Carter raised his hand. "The Sowilo." he replied. "It represents the sun and means guidance and honor."

"Oh I know that rune, it's sowilo which means for a person that they will have good insight and courage to do what it takes to solve problems and be fruitful.", Herminny said rather enthusiastically.

Alessia nodded to everyone as she listened to their meanings.

Celandine raised her hand, Sowilo had soooo many meanings associated with it.

"Aside from the Sun and meanings associated directly with the Sun, Sowilo means power for positive change, a connection between the higher self and the unconscious mind, wholeness or a cleansing fire." Cela answered.

Marie raised her hand. "That rune would be Sowilo meaning sun. I think it was named for the Norse sun goddess." 'I wish the sun here was a little warmer right now' Marie thought as she pulled her robes a little tighter around her.

Looking very much like a small child caught in the act of stealing, Jake started at the reprimand and had the thought to look sheepish.
"Looks like an S, tuhh-ter mmmme," the boy blurted out, clearly not thinking properly.

Yeah... Best shut up til there's something you KNOW being asked.

Kay put her hand up to answer. "Professor I believe that The rune is Sowilo. It stands for the Sun and has many means. Like guidance, honor, wholeness, and the power of positive change." Kay said smiling at the professor.

Kay had heard Marie answer as well. Marie looked a little cold. "Hey," Kay whispered to her. "Do you wanted me to do a warming charm for you? You like really cold." Kay asked her was she watched the Professor nodding her head at the students that was answering.

"Wonderful," she said smiling, "one point to everyone who answered. Now. The upper left position is the first position, and it is called the Branch of the Heart," She said and put her hand on her heart. "This rune will speak to the emotional character of the person in question. What defines his, or in this case, her emotional state? Her emotional ideals?"

She looked around the class and said, "In regards to my question: 'Will the new minister of magic be good in her position,' and that I pulled Sowilo, what is YOUR interpretation of this position? How would you read it to me?"

Kay put her hand up to answer. She was so unsure of what she has going to say but she was going to give it a go. "Professor, being in the first position the Sowilo could mean many things. Power of positive change could mean that positive emotions will help her run the ministy. Which would give guidance to the wizarding commuity. We would have a stable minister of magic." Kay finished her answer and looked at the ground. 'did I just sound about the dumbest person in the world' Kay thought to herself.' She hope that she was close to the right answer.

Wesley subconsciously placed her hand on her heart too, nodding. Branches of the heart- just like branches of a tree. The Hufflepuff grinned, proud she had made the connection. For once, she was following the conversation.

Eager to contribute, Wesley raised her hand,"I think it means she will have a successful ministry, because her emotions will guide her, and since her ideals are ummm," she paused, glancing back at her textbook, "honorable, they will lead her to success. And the Minister is also courageous and, uh, insightful, so she has lots of knowledge and bravery to do the job right...maybe?"

On second thought, maybe she didn't get it after all.

"No thanks, I am fine just a little chill was all" Marie said.

Raising her hand Marie said "Professor I believe it to mean that our Minister will be successful in making positive changes and that her achievements will be guided with honor and courage." 'Wow, that answer actually sounded believable' she thought as she listened to the other students giving their answers.

Carter raised his hand. "Since the Sowilo is a rune meaning respect and guidance I think that the new Minister has good emotion state, one filled with guidance for us. I think it means that she's a good person striving to do what's best." He wondered if that was true or not. After all, he knew absolutely nothing about the minister, or even that they had a new one. He looked around waiting for other's answers. Maybe they would be similar?

Herminny raised her hand and said, "I believe sowilo literally means sun and it is said the sowilo rune is like an inner light of the sun that shines through a person to help them to overcome problems and reach ones goals. I think our minister having the sowilo rune means she's a person who is good and will strive to get things done the best way she can for our wizarding world.".

"You know, Professor Lupa," LouAnn said, her hand raised high into the air. She'd been quiet for most of the class, letting everything sink in while trying to figure it out. She thought now would be a good time to try and provide some input. "When I think of the Sun, I think of how it's presence represents a brand new day and a new beginning. It's sort of like our chance to close one door and open another. I think that can be compared to how one Minister of Magic left, therefore taking all his ideas and beliefs with him, and another came. She'll bring all her ideas and beliefs with her, and things will start all over and be brand new to us...just like how the Sun brings us a brand new day."

She blinked, wondering if she'd even said anything that made sense. It wasn't like LouAnn to be so detailed in an answer, but then again, she had been sitting here a while thinking it over.

Chris watched and listened as Professor Lupa drew the rune and then tod them what it was. She then asked how they would interpret it. He listened politely to the others as they said what they felt and then he raised his hand. "Professor I read this as you pulling the Sowilo rune for Minister Taylor, because the sun represents new birth. With her gain of office we will have new ideas and hopefully the beginning of a good, happy and successful society." he said looking at the runes as he spoke.

"Great! a point to everyone who answered..." She pulled a second rune:

She placed it to the right of the first one. "What rune did I pull and what is its meaning?"

Theo put his hand up, "It is a man raising his arms. Its meaning is 'HELP'"

... That kid. Was weird.

Livvy blinked at the boy's answer and couldn't help but smile at how he thought the rune was. It was a good guess though! But she was afraid that 'man raising his arms meaning help' wasn't exactly the right answer. Though it could be related if you thought about it hard enough. Livvy raised her hand up into the air, to answer the question that the Professor lady had asked.

"The rune that you just pulled out is Algiz. Algiz represents protection and the feeling of protecting one's self or others as a necessity. Not only that, but the rune is connected with the gods, an awakening, and a higher life," she said, nodding her head.

Kay put her hand up to answer the professor. "This is the Algiz Rune. It's repersentation of the Norse God Heimdall and is some times called the Elk Rune. It stands for defence, protection, and sanctuary." Kay said to the Professor. Kay was starting to like this class.

Jacoby raised his hand "Its Algiz and it means Concealment, safe refuge, or protection."he said

"That's Algiz," LouAnn said, her hand raised into the air. "It stands for room to grow. It also stands for being protected and kept safe."

She glanced over at Theo, the boy who'd said the rune was a man raising his arms and calling for help. To be honest, the rune really did look like that...and Algiz stood for safety, so she supposed it would fit right on in.

"Protection, exactly! One point to everyone who answered." She said proud of her class... "Did you know that Algiz was frequently inscribed on the shields of soldiers to help protect them? It symbolizes defense of what you consider sacred and a relationship to the divine, though it also emphasizes the separation of wizard and divinity." She said.

She turned around and lay on the ground on her tummy, her feet up in the air and holding herself up by the elbows. "It's in the second position which is called the 'Branch of the Mind.' All people have both an emotional side and a logical side. This rune is what defines the person's logical side. Can anyone interpret the rune in this position?"

Carter raised his hand. "Somebody is thinking about opportunity and protection, like they are working toward that goal." he offered unsure if he was thinking along the right lines.

Chris raised his hand. "Well Professor could it mean that Minister Taylor spends alot of time thinking about ways to protect the wizarding community and thinks over her decisions without doing anything too rash?" he asked as his interprentation.

"You need to think of my question when you are interpreting the rune: 'Will the new minister of magic be good in her position,' remember?" She said to the student.

"Yes..." Alessia said cold face. "I suppose she is..." She didn't much like the new minister... she'd voted for Cooper.

"Hmmmm Yes... I guess she needs to be. She has big shoes to fill..." She said...

"Mmhmm..." she said nodding.

"Very good... A point to all of you who answered," she said not smiling.

"Let's move on, shall we?" She didn't wait for the answer and pulled another rune:

"All right... in position 3, The Supporting Branches, I have pulled Eihwas. This position tells us what it is that is beneath the person. What is in their subconscious that they keep secret from everyone..." She said and smiled, "Can anyone tell me what are the meanings of Eihwas and, keeping my question in mind, what is your interpretation of this rune would be?"

Becca smiled back at Professor Lupa before raising her hand, "Eihwaz is generally a positive rune in divination. Its traditional meaning is yew; because of this Eihwaz is associated with hunting and the daring that hunting necessitates. Eihwaz indicates that the querent has set her sights on a viable target and is unlikely to encounter defeat. And even if she does encounter catastrophe, it will be minor and may in fact be to her advantage in the long run. I think it means she's meant to take risks and have a little sweet revenge every so often, though a constant dosage could lead to catostrophic events, so she should pick and choose wisely." She summed up quickly. Goodness were those branches swaying and those chirping birds ever so distracting? Becca realized quickly that she thinking about being distracted was adistraction and stirred from it to listen to other participants.

Chris raised I hand, this time starting to see where Professor Lupa may be going with this. "Professor, perhaps the meaning of the Eihwas rune for the Minister could mean that she has had something happen in her past that she wants covered up and hidden from everyone? Or that she wants to leave behind the past and just start anew?" he said throwing both those ideas out there.

Raising her hand Marie said "Professor the Eihwaz rune indicates that the querent has set her sights on a viable target and is unlikely to lose. But even if she does encounter catastrophe, it will be minor. So I would take this to mean the new minister has decided to make some changes that may cause some problems in the beginning but will turn out to everyones liking in the end."
Marie wasn't quite sure where this lesson was going, why were they focusing so much on the minister today.

Kay hoped that she as right. "Professor. The Eihwaz means Protection and enlightenment. It also represents the Yew tree. I think that it could mean that she is hinding something and wants know one to know. But that she my be come enlightened and work through it." kay said knowing it sounded bad.

"Good Job everyone, a point each." She said but didn't give her opinion on their interpretations... She didn't want the kids knowing how much she despised the Minister of Magic... locking her up in her office once a month with a guard, under lock and key, like some criminal...

"Next position is called 'Future Growth.' These new branches will be the future wonderful branches of tomorrow." She giggled, "What is beginning now that will then take on major defining roles in the future. What issues are arising that will be problems in the future." She pulled the rune:

"Ahhh... What rune to we have here? Again, keeping the question in mind, tell me meanings and interpretation." She said.

"Erm professor, I think thats the merkshave of Ehwaz and since Ehwaz means that you have the ability to reach you're goal with having faith in the people around you. I would imagine the oposite would mean not knowing how to reach you're goals and not having trust in the people people around you and weakening relationships with them because one is under stress because one can't figure out what to do to reach you're goals."

For a moment, Evelyn had no clue what that rune was until she realised what she was looking at. "That is the...Ehwaz rune? But it's upside down so, the meaning is reversed, right?" Looking in the book to see the meaning of what the rune was before trying to think of the opposite meaning. "So, originally it means trust, transportation, teamwork, moving forward..."

Oh, so then the opposite meaning would be, "Distrust, recklessness, betrayal maybe?, blockages, doesn't really sound like a great rune at the moment." So how would that relate to 'Future Growth'....uh huuuh...Future Growth and blockages. Sounds wonderful. "Umm...it could possibly mean that she will be confronted with problems that arise and that would block her efforts of 'moving forward' in her goals. It could also mean that since that happens, she could lose her confidence and make some reckless decisions which would make her lose the trust of some people? Since the last rune and the whole 'hiding something' thing, that could possibly play a role in this rune too."

"Professor, This is the Ehwaz which means two horses. It stands for travel and forword movement. But it is inverted so it would be restlessness, restraint, failure to work together, possible betrayal, disagreement." Kay stated. "To me this would mean that she is going to have a hard time trusting people she is working with and she isn't be open about herself with other in her life." Kay said to the Professor. Kay didn't know if she was right but she was starting to wonder about the minister.

LouAnn raised her hand and waved it back and forth a few times before finally speaking. "That'd be Ehwaz, Professor Lupa. Well, actually, it's a reversed Ehwaz," she said, stopping to think about what that could possibly mean. LouAnn wasn't too familiar with all the reversed runes. Merlin, she wasn't even that familiar with runes when they weren't reversed.

After blinking in confusion a few times, she finally provided a little input. "Mmkay, so it means regression, which...doesn't really sound so positive to me. I think this means she may have trouble following through with things that Ehwaz, when it's not reversed, stands for. So...maybe...trouble with maintaining her confidence or being loyal. She might have trouble working alongside others," she said.

Form the very start of the class Josh was snickering. This was soooooo easy but if only he knew the runes. He did not know where did all those people looked up to get the meaning but once he heard them definitely he was able to interpret much thnigs about the new minister of magic. Upon hearing Rose's voice he slowly scooted next to her and whispered in her hear once she was done talking to the professor. ''This was good, hun'' then he smirked and went on whispering in her ear ''Hear this, from the very first rune, roughly''

After raising his hand he stood up slowly and kindly nodded at professor as a greeting ''Excuse me professor but since we are considering a person's character here and the character is a whole i want you to know about my interpretation on this'' Though he did not know if there was going to be another rune. He wanted to try his chance anyway ''Ehem, The minister for magic is really proud, content and satisfied with herself that he had her position. She has tased the victory, she's been longing for but on the other side she knows that this position has much thnigs to fulfill and easy to lose. Then she needs a strategy to protect her reputation against those who might try to weaken it. So, she reveals little her of capabilities hiding her real skills inside so while her enemies would think they know her boundaries, she can strike back like they'll never expect her to do. But as you can see living in all those circumstances is stressful while being a minister for magic is already stressful so possibly she will not be able to hold her defences anymore and start to lose her strenght, reputation and position slowly by time.'' staring at her he smiled ''Hope this did not annoy you.'' and sat back next to Rose.

Marie raised her hand a little confused this time. "Professor, I think that is Ehwaz which represents journeys, distant places and events which have not yet transpired. It is upside down though which I believe reverses things so that could mean the minister's journey will be one that is near and that it possibly already happened or is happening as we speak." 'Oh Merlin, did that mean the minister was coming to Hogwarts?' Marie just sat there now trying to figure out if indeed the minister was going to show up and would her presence have anything to do with all the strange things that have been going on at Hogwarts lately.

Evelyn jumped slightly when she heard, and felt, something by her ear. Turning slightly and leaning away, she saw it was Josh whispering something. "Umm, thanks?" she replied, quite sure that she only got the interpretation half right. But when he whispered something else, she became curious as to what he was up to. "What do you mea-"

Seeing him stand up, she covered her face in her hands, rubbing her head. 'Oh Josh...Josh Josh Josh.' Although, she did listen to what he said and it made complete sense now that she thought about it. 'Hiding one's skills so the enemy doesn't realize...' She stared at him as he sat back down once he was finished. "How do you interpret so well? I didn't even think of that." Oh no, he was better at something than her!

Josh laughed ''Do you want me to interpret more about you?'' he said and winked at her ''Just kidding. I just tried my chance, not sure whether it was good.''. Chris looked at the next rune pulled from the bag and placed into the tree formation. "Hmm that is the Ehwaz rune, but like LouAnn said it is the reversed Ehwaz, which is kinda like the opposite." he grinned. "I think that the reading for the particular case shows that perhaps something the Minister or the Ministry does will not go over well. There will be disorganized work and communication and some people will get the bad end of the deal." Chris wasn't so sure he liked that little peak into the future.

In the case of Ehwaz the inverted meaning is restlessness, restraint, a failure to work together, possible betrayal and disagreement." The minister would surely have a disagreement with the werewolf populous... Seriously! Who schedules a World Quidditch event so close to the full moon!

She thought long on this one but came to a failed answer, 'Well maybe she is a secretive person. Chris saw the last rune and then knew exactly what it meant and it figured that would be the one pulled. "That, Professor Lupa, is the rune Perth whoch means chance and mystery. In the since of how well a Minister Taylor will make, it is as it says a mystery. We may have taken a big chance electing her and she may lead us into a downfall. Or you she may lead us into prosperity. Its a gamble." he said. That pretty much summed it up.

Blink, blink. Yes the professor was right it really sounded like it had nothing to do with her question anyway she liked it, did not she? At least he did not get a huge yelling at because he was not listening till that point. ''Sure, professor'' he said ''But i want to make something clear. It means secrecy, mystery, chance but for me these do not make much sense over one's future in a position.Okay it might be something like 'she just does whatever occurs to her without being sure about the consequences' but i feel like there should be more to drive a person to his or her goal. I think the other runes definitely has an affect on this one. Character and goals are related and so according to this rune we'll never know till we see it. If she'll be good or bad in her position is changeable and it depends...maybe on her decisions about her life. ''

Kay looked up the meaning of the Rune. She wasn't sure about what it would mean though. "Professor, The name of the rune is Perthro. It represents things we cannot full know, and to explore. It signifies a cup and whats in the cup must be consumed to understand what it contains. The answers will come in time." Kay said looking at the Professor. "This to me would mean that the Minister has alot of unanswered questions and only time will tell if she gets them and if she will be able to understand them." Kay stated. Boy this was getting hard.

Becca grinned at Professor Lupa's flirting comment. Then, she raised her hand again, "I think that's the perth rune. My interpretation is something hidden comes to light or a secret is disclosed. Look beyond the surface things are not always as they seem. Use your intuition, take a gamble. I think that it's saying the Minister's "secret" whatever it may be could change her career drastically. Whether it is a good or bad change though, I can't say." Then Becca added, "And with the take a gamble bit, I think it means once her secret is revealed, she'll have to choose whether or not to continue pursuing her career." She hoped that her explanation of the Minister's career would make sense and go with the meaning of Perth...

Herminny felt like she was taking chances just attemting the professors question but she loved a challenge and raised her hand and said, "That rune is perth and it means, mystery, chance, a gamble. I think this means the new minister will be willing to take chances which could be good or bad depending on the outcome.".
