Mina continued on her way into the forest and caught sight of something. She leaned over and reached for a feather. "And thank you Mr./Ms. Hippogriff for the feather, where ever for the feather," she smiled as she added it to her bag. This was actually fun, she thought to herself as she continued on. In front of her she saw a group of students.

She walked over to the leaves and picked one up. "Do you mind if I take one? she asked.

Carter followed the voices to see a group of his fellow classmates and some freshly fallen leaves. Looks like birch... he thought. He noticed a fellow first year. He picked up two leaves. One for him and one for her. "Here you go." he said holding out a leaf to her.

"Thank you," Mina smiled as she took the leaf. Placing it in her bag with her other samples. "I'm Mina, by the way." she added as she looked back at him.

"I'm Carter." Carter said with a smile. "How is the scavenger hunt going for you? I've only found tree things so far." he said showing her the piece of bark from an oak tree, the white hippogriff feather, and then the leaf from a birch tree.

"Nice to meet you Carter," Mina smiled. "It's going well," she nodded opening her bag to show him her samples. "I found a lot of stuff, not sure it's what I need, but I'm having fun."

Inside her bag, she had a few feathers, some leaves and bark. Looking back at him, she shrugged. "I just hope I'm at least getting some of them right."

Sara travelled farther into the forest; she didn't know what she would find, but she wasn't going to give up. A soft breeze was blowing, and in the breeze fluttered soft, white Hippogriff feathers! Sara was excited!

Picking up a feather, Sara slid it into her bag. Now, she had two things from her list!

Continuing on... Sara came upon a pile of leaves. Sara wondered if they were on her list...

Looking in her Herbology book, she found the leaf. It was a birch tree leaf, and it was on her list! Sara placed a birch tree leaf in her bag too. That was #3!

Still lurking in the trees, Jake watched a bunch of other people swoop down on more things. Pouncing for the leaves, not knowing if he was supposed to be looking for these or not, Jake pushed them and a few twigs into his pocket, before sprinting off and heading far deeper into the forest.

Carter agreed. "Me too. This is a lot harder than I thought it would be. But I agree. It's super fun." he said. Then he thought for a moment. "I'm a first year. Are you too?"

"Yes, I am," she nodded to him as she fastened her bag once again. "I do hope we are doing well for first years. I mean I'm sure the older students are having an easier time with the hunt." She was sure of it by the looks of the group of older students ahead of them and was actually quite proud of herself for doing as well as she as was. Looking back at her list and then back up at him, she smiled. "So where are you off to next?

Drawn by the faint smell of blood, something silently walks along the outter edge of the forest. He disappears a short time later, leaving behind a few strands of hair along the way.

Question is... will YOU be able to see these hairs?

As Jake staggered through the forest, by this point unable to hang around this creepy place much longer, a movement wayyyyyy far away caught his eye. It was... something Jake had only seen in one picture, in a book his foster mother had. It was... a thestral. Frowning when he had the flashback of WHY he could see the creature, Jake shook his head and ran of in that direction, sure he must be imagining things when the horse-like animal disappeared.

"Crap," he muttered, kicking at the floor roughly, before some hairs caught his eye. Hoping these might belong to the creature, Jake pocketed them and took out his list.

Mina turned her attention back to her list briefly before hearing something. Looking around she shook her head. 'Great, I'm hearing things again,' she scolded herself. "Carter, did you hear something?"she asked as she looked around.

Hearing the slightest sound again, she walked toward the slight sound. 'You are definitely going crazy,' she kept telling herself. 'You are leading yourself on a wild Hippogriff hunt!' As she reached the edge of the forest, her eye caught some strands of hair on the ground. 'Score! Maybe you aren't crazy,' she told herself as she took two strands for herself and Carter.

Evelyn... who was still hiding behind the tree... who saw that there were even more people who had come and joined the little group...who was getting extremely impatient. 'Why am i hiding again?' she thought to herself, as she peaked around the tree again. 'Because you simply cannot socialize with those people.' the voice said. 'You know, i really need to name you or something. Seriously. But why am i not? Nothing is stopping me from going over there.' she replied back, ready to take a step out from her hiding spot. 'Stop! You will not.' the voice yelled, sounding dangerously angry making her halt her movements.

'Fine!' Taking out her wand, she was just about to summon one of the leaves or twigs when she heard something crunch and snap behind her. Quickly as if the wind itself, Evelyn pointed her wand behind her, eyes flashing, looking for the intruder. Seeing nothing, again, she turned back towards the group when something caught her eye. Trying to peak over the bushes and around the trees from where she stood, she thought she saw something...big, and black, but it disappeared behind some other trees. Standing still for a moment, wand still raised, debating whether or not to go after it, she shrugged her shoulders and turned back toward the group, summoning both a twig and leaf just to be safe, and went on her merry way.

Sara was still looking for more Scavenger hunt items... when suddenly she saw something black, sliding back into the forest. Upon closer inspection, Sara saw some long black hairs tangled in a bush. Rushing up to the bush, Sara removed the long black hair. It was a thestral hair! Sara slipped it into her bag and continued on.

Abby continues looking for leaves and bits of magical creature when she hears a rustling sound near the oak trees. She walks over to investigate. "Oh my... you are beautiful! Hello, I'm Abby. I promise I won't harm you. I just need to get a little closer..." She inches closer to the thestral trying to make no sudden moves. Abby has to climb over some of the oak trees roots, then it happens... "O-o-o-o-o--h!!" Abby trips on one of the roots and falls over. The Thestral runs deeper into the forest. "Please come back!! I won't hurt you..." Abby looks down at the ground and sees that some of the Thestral's hair got caught on the trees roots. "Thank you!" Abby gets up and gathers some of the hairs. She puts them in her bag and marks thestral off her list.

"I figured I'd just stay here." Carter said. Then he heard something. "Yeah I hear it too." He watched as Mina walked away and came back. She was holding something. Or it looked like she was anyway. "What's that?" he asked straining to see whatever she had in her hand. Maybe she was just too far away and whatever she had was super small.

Mina smiled as she walked back toward Carter. "I think I just found some Thestral hairs," she clapped in excitement before handing him a strand and place hers with her other samples. "I'm thinking staying here is a good idea." she nodded. "I wonder what else we might find here." She was actually having a lot of fun looking for everything.

Copernicus froze at the sound of the creature, his eyes widening at the skeletal shape emerging briefly from the shadows. Once the thestral disappeared back into the trees, he hurried over and picked up a spare hair. Or three, considering Cela and Plym couldn't see the thestral.

"Cel!"

Celandine moseyed over and smiled at Copernicus. Teehee.

He looked pretty under the dappled light coming through the trees. Of course, Cela thought he always looked pretty...

"Cope?"

"That would explain why I can't see it." Carter said taking the hair. Or at least, he hoped he grabbed it. "Yeah, I figured the forest would be the best place to find things. So what classes are you taking?" Carter asked making conversation. And plus, Mina was pretty fun to be around.

Copernicus tied the thestral hair into a nearly invisible bracelet around Cela's wrist. "I know you can't see it, but that's a thestral hair. I have one for Plym too. It should stay put until we have to report back."

"Oh!" Celandine beamed. "Thanks! You are so smart." She looked at her wrist in wonderment and then reached into her pocket to pull out some willow leaves that she had found.

"Here, I got these when we were at the whomping willow. Some for you and Plymouth too?"

Evelyn listened to the crunching of dead leaves underneath her feet as she slowly walked, staring down at the ground, arms crossed and still holding her wand. She was getting very tired of the scavenger hunt, and she only needed a few more things...a few more things that are taking forever to find. Suddenly it seemed like it was getting a little chilly in the forest as she walked further, rubbing her arms so they would stay warm. 'Why didn't i bring my cloak?'

Frowning, she noticed some weird black stuff on the ground. It looked almost ghostly. Bending down, she picked a few of whatever it was up. Glancing around her to see if anyone was there, she turned her attention back to what was in her hand. 'Hair?' she thought. It certainly looked like hair. But what kind she wasn't sure. Taking out her list of things she needed, her eyes landed on the word Thestral, making her suddenly confused and nervous. "I can't see thestrals." she smiled and laughed at herself, but didn't move to put the hair down. "I can't..." she shook her head, her smile disappearing as the seconds ticked by. 'Yes you can.' the voice sang in her head, irritating her.

With a blank expression, she held close onto the hairs, standing up and started walking again, staring intently straight ahead. She could see thestrals. The voice was right. She remembers. But it only made Evelyn feel like another weight on her shoulders.

"Thanks, Cel," Cope took the leaves and added them to his satchel too. "I think we're getting close. Or..." He sorted through the list mentally. "Halfway, I guess. Wow."

Ana was both excited and a little bit nervous. Slowly she started walking deep into the forest. The adrenaline running through her veins ... all those mistiorius sound, goosebumps all over her skin.

Almost immediately she saw some leaves on the ground and collect one. The first item Yeah!

After walking more through the forest she turned her head and noticed an amount of feathers on the ground she ran to it and grabbed one. Looks like a hippogriff feather she thought. Then she held the list and made a mark on the hippo feather

Ana kept searching for more things when she spotted some leaves, she grabbed one and put it on her bag.

Ana pursue her search and then she saw more students. It was about time. All the way she saw nobody, finally.
Suddenly a furtive sound, she turned her head only to see a black creature. Ana looked down and this time it was hair, black and a bit different, definitely from thestrals. Ana grabbed one and put it together with the rest of the stuff.

4 things on her bag and 14 more to catch, that was a long list. She decided to look in a different place and maybe came back later if it was necessary. Slowly she left the Forest
