Bella laughed uncontrolably "I could've got you so bad then!" She screeched. After a minute she calmed down a bit, "I'm ready! AGUAMENTI!" She cried before Lyra could do anything else, and a blast of water erupted from the end of her wand.

Not in a thousand years she would be able to guess that it was him. Snickering at his thoughts, Blake almost tripped when Lyra jerked his hand off her eyes. What the..?

He shouldn't feel bad since he's the one who interrupted her dueling session, mwaah. B-but wait! She's pointing her wand at him, "No Lyra DONTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT." He hollered as the red light hit him in the chest and he flew all the back of the platform and... fainted. This was definitely unexpected.

Oooh aguamenti huh? the first spell she learned last year! Congrats to the professor for showing that charm!
but ...wait? how could you stop that charm?!
'ok lyra , think think' she thought but the blast of water was flying towards her. 'no thinking duck!' Lyra followed her own voice and let herself fall on to the ground just in time before the yet of water had hit her head. Drops of water fell on her as it rushed over her and she pointed her wand at Bella while lying on the floor and shouted "Tarantallegra!"

Lyra stood up again after using the dancing charm on Bella and noticed that Blake was lying unconcious on the floor. Mweh served him right!, sneaking up behind lyra while she was dueling. Didn't people realise that that was bad? Sighing Lyra looked at Bella again and at the same time yelled for the professor. "PROFESSORRRR LAWSON..SIR? BLAKE HAS FAINTED CAN YOU CHECK ON HIM?!" she screamed but didn't take her eyes off of Bella. They were still dueling after all.

"What the-" Bella gasped, before she had time to react, she was dancing uncontrolably. She'd never heard of that spell. Trying to concentate on her wand-which proved rather hard to do while dancing- she cried, "Furnunculus!" But she still dancing, and it was hard to aim properlly.

Miranda, unsure of where exactly she was, walked into the dueling arena. Her dance like step made her look almost as if she were floating through the air. She glanced back toward the door, wondering whether she was allowed here, before facing forward again. Spotting a teacher in the room she decided to at least ask where she was. She walked up to him,
"Excuse me, Mister," Miranda said "I am Miranda Kipira Skieaskie. I'm new this year and I got lost. Could you please tell me where I am and where I am supposed to be?" her voice was full of confidence, not the slightest bit uncertan sounding.
"You know, they should really hand out maps to first years. It's so easy to get lost in this big castle."

Tsk tsk tsk. Trying to use a spell while you were dancing uncontrolably was very stupid in Lyra's book. Thinking that the spell would have missed her anyway, Lyra just stood there laughing when she used the furnunculus spell and it......hit her arm? Lyra screamed when the hex had hit her and pulled her sleeve up to see nasty boils covering her arm. Not good! Her arm started to hurt but she was not going to give up. she pointed her wand at Bella and shouted. "Impedimenta!"

Bella was incredibly shocked that her spell had actually managed to hit Lyra's arm. As Lyra shouted her Hex, Bella-Still dancing-danced to the left, hoping the spell would miss her. But no! the spell his her little finger. Her body froze for a second-no longer as it only hit a finger-Bella gasped. Her legs were killing her, too much dancing...too much dancing...too much...
"Densaugeo!" She screamed

Gabby looked at the girl, and recognised her from a class where she had been quite short with her. But being Gabby, she was willing to give everyone a second chance. Yeah, sure. She smiled at both the professor and at the girl. I'm Gabby she said to the girl as she walked away from her. Let's duel! Gabby said excitedly. She got into a stance and thought for a minute, thinking of a spell. But Expelliarmus would be no use as that wouldn't be dueling, so she used the same one as before. STUPEFY!

The pain in her arm was killing her but she was glad that she wasn't dancing like Bella. Lyra moved to her right when she had send the teeth growing charm towards her and it missed. She pointed her wand at her and shouted the disarming spell, maybe it would be easier when Bella was dancing? "EXPELLIARMUS!" she shouted hoping it would hit her this time.

Bella wanted to give up. Her legs hurt. She couldn't shoot a spell right...she only just doged the spell Lyra had sent at her.
"NO" She snarled, "I WON'T GIVE UP!" She mastered all her control and cried,
"CONFUNDOS!" And collapsed onto the floor, Vaguely seeing her spell bounce back at her. her legs were still moving.

Chalice entered the Dueling Arena. She loved this place, in fact she made her first friends right here three years ago. Chalice sighed as she thought of James and Liz. Reguardless she walked around, took out her wand and twirled it between two fingers. It felt like ages since she last used magic. Not only was she underage but anytime she was near her father, which was almost never, she was forbidden to show any sign of what she really was. She pointed her wand at the wall, to curse it, out of sheer frustration with her situation but thought better of it and watched others duel instead. Just then she saw a girl collapsed on the floor. Sprinting over to her she said, "Are you okay? Let me take you to the hospital wing." With that Chalice grabbed the collapsed girl's arm and gently pulled her up so she was standing, she then draped the girl's arm over her shoulders and helped her out of the arena.

"Hello..." Bella gasped, she was being dragged away by a girl she'd never seen before. "Why...what happened?" She felt very confused.

A dueling area?!

Sabrina peered into the dueling area hesitantly and watched as spells flew off everywhere. She wasn't actually sure what she was doing here. She had never tried dueling before and she could sort of see why. The blonde had never actually been fond of dueling. But why not try it now? She needed a distraction from her gloomy self and nothing seemed to be working.


The seventh year Ravenclaw pulled out her wand and stepped in, confidently. Alright, students of Hogwarts, show me what you got.

"Hi, my name is Chalice Swan." she said. "And you are?" Chalice asked in a very nice tone. "You were trying to cast expelliarmus on your deuling partner while danceing, I assume due to a curse but I missed most of it, and you simply collapsed. I ran over and asked if you were okay, but you didn't answer me so I decided that I had to take you to the hospital wing." she explained. Chalice knew how finding yourself in a different state than you last remember can be really confusing and scary.

"Ah yes!" Bella mused, pretending she understood, "I am Hapfield, Bella hapfield. Nice to meet you Swan. Now, stop all this caffuffle, I need no doctor!" She said, and pulled away from Charlice, but then found she couldn't stand on her own, and almost felll over again. They were already out of the Arena now. "Goodbye Lyra my good friend! I forgive you for making me feel different!" She shouted so Lyra could hear her in the Arena, "I'll see you soon anyway...maybe in the common room?" She laughed, she felt very light.

Varius couldn't think of a better way to brush up his skills than to come to the dueling arena and practice his spells. There was a disadvantage to the idea of no underaged wizardry outwith school - that being he got rusty, not being able to use the same day to day spells all the time. Not to worry, he was ready to get back in the game.

His eyes glanced over a Ravenclaw girl who looked like a much older student - no matter! Just because she had more life experience did not mean he was going to be scared off from this challenge. He marched up to her, rolling up his sleeves in preparation. He removed his wand from his pocket and poked her in the shoulder with it. "Excuseeeeee meeeee," he droned, "I think we should duel? What do you think?"

Without even waiting for her answer, he jumped up onto one of the platforms and began tapping his foot impatiently as if he had been waiting for the girl to get up on the platform for years. "Welllll, come on," he encouraged.

"A pleasure Bella. But I think that you do need a doctor." Chalice said as Bella almost fell. "Look, our houses may be rivals, they always have been, but I've had Slytherin friends before. So let me help you and by doing so let me show you that all Gryffindors aren't bad." Chalice was used to Slytherins acting like this, even once her friends and she were close, they sometimes would act like they didn't want her help, because she was a Gryffie.

Sabrina blinked at the boy for a moment. Duel? Yes, that was why she was here, wasn't she? DUEL GIRL! With a determined look on her face, Sabrina Evanstar followed little Mr.Ipokeyouwithmywand onto the platform. Her eyes widened though when she realised she didn't know HOW to duel! OHMYGOD! Seven years of magical education from Hogwarts and litle Miss. Evanstar didn't even know how to duel.

She was going to be defeated by this little boy.

NO SHE WAS NOT!! "Right. Let's begin." Wasn't there some kind of protocol you had to follow? Who starts first.

"Oh no! Do you not care to understand dear Charlice?" She chuckled, "I love Gryyfies! They are wonderful! Full of beans! I have an amazingly great friend in Hufflepuff...Raven claw...no...but Gryffindor! Well! I have you!" She laughed.

"Ah, then it seems as though I am mistaken. So, I appologize." Chalice said with a smile. "Most of the time firstie Slytherins are not exactly on good standings with Gryffies, they seem to think that we always wanna bring them down." she explained. "I have had friends from all of the houses, and found that the people are basically good, even if our houses are way different. Glad we can be friends." CHalice said with a grin.

Well, she took her time. HMPH.

"And begin we shall," he announced, raising his wand right in front of his face before bowing. He even put it right up against his nose, wriggling it a bit - what!? he had an itch! And the dueling arena was not the sort of place to put your guard down so you can raise a finger to satisfy the darn annoyance! Raising from his bow, he grinned - it looked practically evil with his insane glare.

"You can have first blood since i'm nice like that," he turned on his heel and set off for his end of the platform, rotating once more once he reached his position. He moved his legs slightly apart and crouched, his wand pointed at the girl, awaiting her move (this looked professional, right?). Hopefully he would be much better at dueling this time - last time he had been dueling with Daphne Hopton and things had gotten outta hand...

"Well that sorts that out then!" Bella exclaimed and grinned widely. She was begginig to feel more like herselfe again. "My legs!" She screeched, "They have stopped dancing! It must not last forever than I see! How interesting...well...I think I cease to need medical support anymore, good friend. Thankyou for your help. Is there anything we could now do, or are you busy?" She asked and walked down the corridor, beckoning her to follow. It seemed like weeks ago she had just been dueled and collapsed.

Following suite, Sabrina mimicked the boy's movements, since she didn't know anything about dueling in the first place a-- Whaaaat? Why has he got his wand up against his NOSE?! Was she supposed to do that? Err, what if she was supposed to? Biting the inner side of her lip, Sabrina mimicked his nose action too.

The blonde blinked when he glared at her. Was she doing something wrong? Or was he just trying to scare her? NO, THOU SHALL NOT BE SCARED!

First- First blood? Did that mean she could start? HOW DID ONE START A DUEL?! She wasn't going to ask him and show him her weakness, no sir. She was going to just jump ahead and ... throw in a spell. Right.

Well, that was one department where she was confident in her abilities. She was an excellent spell caster. She just hoped she was better than the boy in front of her or ....

"Okay." Pointing her wand at the boy-CHEYA It was DRAGON HEARTSTRING- Sabrina cried, "Expelliarmus!"

Whaaaaaat? It was the first spell people threw at their opponents. Right?

"I quite agree, nice to have that settled." Chalice said. "Yeah, most curses wear off in a few minutes, especially when there is no eye contact with the person who cast the spell on you in the first place." she grinned. "I'm free, I haven't anything planned. What do you wanna do?" she said as she followed Bella down the corridor.

This girl was strange, she seemed so very inexperienced for someone Varius assumed to be so old. Maybe this was her tactic - play the damsel in distress to try and make him feel guilty or sorry for her, so that when he lets down his defences and he shows a moments caring she will POUNCE and defeat him. NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

NUUUU I TELL THEE!

She sent expelliarmus his way and Varius was sure that was the spell he had mistaken to be the shielding charm in his previous duel - mental note! He watched as milliseconds passed and the spell got nearer and nearer... he was panicking, flopping! He had forgotten about this part of dueling, the actual defending part that is. "ORCHIDEOUS!" he cast.

At that moment in time, the spell was still coming his way and he now had a lovely bunch of roses blossoming from the end of his wand. He quickly ducked in time for the girl's spell to pass him and be out of harms way. That was a close one!

He shook his wand so that the roses fell away and lay on the ground by his feet. He felt like mother nature in some weird mother naturely kind of way. What spell should he send to her? HMMMMMM. HMMMMMMMMMM.

*cues jeopardy music*

HMMMMMM.

"Obscuro," this would be handy if it hit her - she wouldn't be able to see any other spell coming to her from that point on! Well, at least until the spell wore off. "Oh, whats your name by the way?" he said, spinning on the spot, looking up at the ceiling awaiting for something to do again. Maybe asking her questions would distract her?
