Marilyn allowed herself to be pulled towards the back alley. Anticipation was coursing through her body. She couldn't help herself. Rafe's skin was touching hers and the electricity running the length of her body was clouding her mind. When she heard him speak, though, her heart dropped.

She was floored by what Rafe was saying...and it was making her angry. Why was she so angry? This whole thing was getting out of control...He was asking her to lie now. Bold face lie. Her chest suddenly had this awful empty feeling in it. She tried to soothe the hurt by bringing her palm up to rub the skin over her heart. "Is that what you really want?"

"I know I'm coming off cross, and maybe it's for the best, but when I'm with you, I'm..." he slowly turned to face her. He was using all his self-control not to kiss her. But, he promised that he wouldn't cross that line and only if she asked him to do so he would. "Marilyn," Rafe took a step forward, his hands started reaching for hers, but then he . "What I want..." Rafe took in a deep breath. He wanted to tell her that he wanted her to be with him, but he just couldn't. "I want you to be happy. That's all I really care about." It was the truth, but not what he wanted most in the world. He wanted her to let him hold her and to tell him to kiss him, right then and there. Even if it was their last kiss for a lifetime.

He never meant to cause so much trouble. She was the one that told him that she liked him to, and it was agonizing. He wished he never spoke to her behind the statue. It would have been easier now that way. He would probably be in the Three Broomsticks now, drinking and laughing with friends, disguising how he truly felt. He was good at keeping a secret, he had kept one his entire life.

Marilyn watched him closely, the hurt in her chest exanding. How was it possible to like Carter but feel...this way for Rafe? It was unlike anything she'd ever dreamed of in all her short existance. Seeing the pleading looks Rafe was flashing her way left her feeling torn. She didn't want to let him off the hook that easy. Wasn't she suffering just as much? Didn't it hurt to be with Carter and think about Rafe? Not that she did that...That would be slightly...wrong of her. Oh, gods. Who was she kidding?! She thought about Rafe all the time. She...She really did care about him.

She couldn't stop herself this time. Marilyn closed the gap between them quickly, wrapping her arms around Rafe's neck. She assaulted his lovely mouth for the second time and groaned. She didn't want to let him go. He tasted absolutely intoxicating, making her tighten her hold on him even more.

Rafe let his fingers thread through her blonde locks. His arms made their way down to wrap around her tiny waist and he lifted her slightly off the ground, so they could meet just right. It was as though she was Guinevere coming to her Lancelot. He took in a breath and breathed in Marilyn. His lips lingered on hers and he tenderly kissed her. He tentatively tilted his head, continuing to lightly press his lips against hers.

He slowly parted, just to take it in, to look at her. It was as though it was a dream. He opened his eyes and looked devotedly at her. He let her feet meet the ground, with his arms still wrapped around her. He pressed his forehead on top of her, "What now?" he whispered as a genuine smile stretched across his face.

Marilyn let her eyes flutter shut, sighing in utter contentment. He was an amazing kisser, his lips had moulded perfectly to hers. Why couldn't things be simplier?

"I honestly don't know...I feel like I...I want to be with you..." Her teeth tugged her bottom lip between them, nibbling lightly. "I feel like a relationship with you will be...incredibly intense, though. I don't think you or I are ready for that sort of thing."

Rafe held her more tightly. He could feel her heart beating. He rubbed his forehead lightly against hers and then lightly brushed his lips against her soft skin. He took in a deep breath, absorbing every moment. He didn't understand that if she wanted to be with, why didn't she just do that?

"All I know is," Rafe exhaled, "That I want to be with you. But, I don't want to seem like I'm forcing you into anything. I would never want to displease you." He wrapped her hair on the back of her neck around his fingers. "All I want is for you to be happy. And if that means letting you go," Rafe had to force the words out, "Then that's what I'll have to do. I will be waiting. If it take months or even years, you are definitely worth the wait Marilyn."

Marilyn got real quiet for a moment, processing every thought floating across her mind. This thing with Rafe felt natural, like they could be themselves around each other and not have any worries. Letting him go was hard...but for now, they just couldn't be. Her first year heart just wasn't ready for the intensity that was Rafe Lycaon..."Rafe, I want to be with you..." Oh Merlin did she want to be with him..."But I've got a long way to go...before im ready to be in the sort of relationship I know we'd have." Did that come out right? She hoped so. "I know you and I will be something special and I want us both to have the chance to grow emotionally. You know, before I make you completely mine..." She offered him a small smile.

"Don't do this," he whispered firmly. He didn't want to let her go. It was as though this would be the last moment he would truly share with her. Rafe wasn't more sure of anything than to be with her. "And can Carter give you what you want? Is there something he has that I..." Rafe wasn't good enough for her. Carter was probably the better guy, he was a good guy. Rafe took a step back to look at her properly eyes to eyes. What captivating eyes she had, it only made things harder.

"Just ask me," Rafe said. If he was only going to have this moment, this precious moment until she was ready, then he wanted to make it one that he would be able to remember. "Ask it of me, for I swear to Merlin, it's taking every bit of strength in me to keep my promise."

Marilyn bit her lip furiously, trying to decide what to do. "Rafe...what about Carter? I can't hurt him. He's been so good to me." As she spoke, her eyes never left Rafe's full lips. She was such a perv. All she could think about was how good those lips tasted and felt against her own...

Focus, Marilyn!...He asked you a question...."You and Carter are as different as night and day. He makes me want to be a better person...but you..." She reached out and touched his cheek. Just simple skin contact was making her head spin. "You bring out something in me that..." What was the word? "Scares me. I feel so many things for you that hit me all at once." Just thinking about it was causing her heart to speed up again. "Rafe, please..." She was staring at his lips again..."Kiss me."

Rafe closed his eyes for a moment as she touched his cheek. He would cherish what time they had. Rafe would just have to except that she didn't want to be with him...not now anyways. She then gave him permission. He wanted to make this perfect. He whispered in a low tone, "You remain my passion and my light," he kissed her softly on the base of her neck, "Only you can fill my heart completely," he slowly brushed her hair out of her face and looked deeply into her eyes, "Until then, all my life's laid low."

All his strength crumbled, he took her tightly in his arms and kissed her impulsively. He wanted to make this moment last, he didn't want to part. He would not be the first to break this time.

Marilyn felt...odd. Her neck had always been sensitive and Rafe had just brushed his lips over it. A strange warmth spreading through her chest, moving lower into her stomach. Marilyn's eyes closed on their own accord, immediately bringing every other sense into sharp focus.

She felt Rafe's breath whisper over her skin as he said the most beautiful words she'd ever heard. And when he finally kissed her, it was like fireworks. Fitting herself around him tightly, she was unable to stop kissing his perfect mouth. Why couldn't Marilyn get enough? ...because this is more than like, Marilyn....She pulled away to looked him straight in the eye. Did this really have to be it?

Rafe moved slightly forward as she moved back. He didn't want this moment to stop. She didn't say anything she just looked at him. Perhaps, she changed her mind? He didn't know. He wasn't quite sure if he wanted to know. This pulling back and forth on his heart was quite painful enough. He took a few steps back and turned away from her. "I will find away to make this easier on you," Rafe said quietly. He forced himself to look at Marilyn once more. She was absolutely radiant and a little bit of the sun beamed through to the dark alley and made her hair shine brightly like gold. "I'm sure you will be missed by your friends. You should go," he said as he nodded towards the street where they came from. It was the most painful three words he ever had to say.

Marilyn turned towards the brick wall, resting her hands against the cool surface. She was trying so hard to get herself together. This was hard since all she wanted to do was have Rafe hold her again. She reached out to him again, batting at the hand that was gesturing for her to leave. All Marilyn wanted to do was touch his cheeks and memorize his gorgeous face. "Im going to miss this...Kissing you is like nothing else in the world." As she said this, she rubbed her nose along his jaw, trying to make this last....

"I will miss you, always," Rafe said as her nose graced his jaw. He couldn't take it. It was just too painful. "It's time," he said quietly as he let her go. He turned around abruptly and took off down the opposite direction in a slight jog. He just had to get away, he knew what he would have to do. He only hoped she would understand in the end.

Jason saw Rafe talking to a Slytherin girl. "Sorry do not mean to interrupt you Rafe" Jason told him. " I just wanted to tell you good-bye "Jason said to Rafe. " I am graduating and I always thought you were rally nice" Jason explained to him.
