They'd never go back to being just friends after this...The slytherin didn't want them to, though. She wanted Rafe...but she couldn't hurt Carter. Carter had been so good to her, doing sweet thoughtful things, singing to make her feel better...and forgiving her for everything with Rafe. He deserved her effort in trying to make their relationship work..even if Marilyn knew it wouldn't.

"But you didn't tell me..." It was the harsh reality of it. "Im not asking you to wait on me...I can't be that selfish. You deserve to date other girls and be happy." Although if Marilyn ever seen it...she'd vomit. She understood exactly how he felt when seeing her with Carter...but that wasn't her fault. Just like her hurting wouldn't be his. Lucy was strolling the corridors looking for Kat when she collided into a scene she never wanted to see. She couldn't believe her eyes. It was Rafe, and...that girl. Ugh. And she had heard the last bit of their conversation, each word piercing her heart with sharp knives. But this was how it was, and she had to learn it the hard way. Nevertheless, she couldn't leave without saying something. They had seen her, afterall.

"Sorry, to rain on your parade," She scoffed, making the a face at both of them.

Then, as if she couldn't help herself, she blurted to Rafe, "If you like her so much, why don't you just marry her!! Just get it over with so I can live in peace! Just do it!!" She screamed, the tears refusing to come because she held them back this time.

To Marilyn, she said, "You make me sick, you two-timer. Hurting Carter like this. You should be ashamed of yourself," Lucy spat. Her face looked mutinous, and none of her friends had ever seen her like this. Her green eyes had turned into slits, and her lips were a thin line; her whole face was taut. The anger was pouring out, as if it couldn't come out fast enough.

Marilyn turned her gaze on the older girl who'd interrupted. Lucy... Of course, it was Lucy. She laughed darkly at the blonde who resembled herself so much. Lucy was enraged that Marilyn was laughing at her, as if the situation was somehow funny. Her cheeks turned red as she mentioned the love potion.
Now she'd done it.

"You know nothing about love! You're not old enough to know the sacrifices you sometimes have to make! Love is unpredictable, and when it takes hold of your heart, it can break it as well! So don't talk to me as if you know what love is!" Lucy scoffed, her voice becoming sore from yelling so loudly.

"Not two-timing Carter, eh? What do you call 'dating' him, and then hiding out with Rafe in secret corridors, huh? HUH??!!" Lucy yelled once more, her face now a blotchy red because she was oh-so-angry. But it felt relieving to finally blame someone for her problems, even though she knew it was not this girl's fault. But when Lucy got mad, she got MAD. She got up close to Marilyn, and stared in that blondie's face like there was no tomorrow. She was gonna get it now. A firstie didn't stand a chance against her.

His uncertainy about trusting girls...even his closest friends. You completely broke his trust...all because of silly emotions. You don't love Rafe. You're obsessed...and that's something else entirely." Her smirk was mean as she said these things. The Gryffindor girl was delusional and seriously needed a shrink.

"And we aren't hiding. Rafe and I care about each other very much...more than you know...And I've talked to Carter about this. He knows everything...because I may be a lot of things Lucy...but im not a liar." Marilyn faced Rafe, smiling sadly before looking at Lucy once again..."And if things between Carter and myself don't work out...I will do everything in my power to be with Rafe...Id be with him now...but Carter has been good to me...and he deserves for me to try to make this relationship work...because I really do like him." Her stance was tense and unmoving. "But these are things you wouldn't understand...You have a confused preception of love. Im younger than you and know that some things just don't work out the way we want."

Lucy looked at Marilyn with hatred etched across her face. She didn't want to admit what she was saying was true, especially about the potion. Yet, deep down, she knew what she had done was wrong, but she had explained to Rafe and herself. That was between them, and it was certainly none of this girl's business. The part about Carter surprised her, though she didn't show it. She could feel the conversation coming to an end, but she had to finish it up before she left.

"What happened between me and Rafe and that love potion is none of your business. We talked about it afterwards, and if you noticed, we're still friends. If he can forgive me and still be my friend, why can't you just stay out of it?!" Lucy said, her voice going back to normal, her face going back to its pale beauty, the redness gone.

"And you're right, I don't love him. And I never will. But whatever it was, it's over now," Lucy said, her eyes narrowed, her hand going to her pocket where her wand was--just in case.

"I have nothing more to say to you," She said to Marilyn.
"Or you," She said as she faced Rafe, forgetting he was there.

She looked at both of them for a minute, thinking about what had just happened, and what Marilyn had said.

"I hope you have a nice life, love birds," She said finally, as she turned around and left the corridor, caressing her arms as she went. She was finally over Rafe--there was nothing there anymore. She felt slightly relieved. Now, she just wanted to be alone.
