Near the front doors of the library are a number of small tables, arranged in a cozy arrangement around a large center table. Each has quills and ink pots for use within the library and a large number of books are available for disposal; including extra copies of school books from first year to seventh year students. A small note proclaims that these books are to be used within the library only.
Small stacks of parchment are centered neatly on the large table. A small sign states: Quote: Study Sessions to Be Held Here A small sign beneath it says: Quote:
Please wait for the leaders to begin the session. If you have any questions, please see the librarian.
OOC - Keep chatting to a minimum please
Sudy session 3 has begun here. |

WELL, it seemed Rachel's little speech adaption/further taking of Tammy's oringal one. And on top of that, the other students seemed to be taking to it. Which was nice, AND comforting. BUT someone needed to talk again, to set them off into their groups and begin the 'session' before time went ON and ON.
Finding the strength to smile, Tammy looked at Rachel, and then somehow piped up herself, turning back to the group. "Right, so everyone has their subjects that they need most help in, so if you head to that group first, obviously not everyone is going to go to the same group, otherwise it might as well be a one subject study session. So split up, and then if you've finished all your homework, congratulations for doing that - i commend you ALOT, well if you choose a group that maybe you do well in, well subject you do well in, then go ahead and help. But don't all head off to one group. We need you separated."
She then looked at them all, just waiting for them all to run off. Because she sounded like a dipstick, that was near enough a shaking wreck. Public speaking was NOT something that she wanted to take up.

Surely SOME people would need help. . . Fyo blinked at Tammy, then looked over at Rachel, who seemed a lot more in control of – well, herself. “Yeah, that sounds great,” he said, though his mouth was a little dry. Nerves? Stupid Library. She did not like them.
And stupid personal space invaders, refusing to respect ridiculously large personal space bubble.
Stiffening on her seat and then willing herself to take a deep breath, Willow's expression regained her cool -for the most part- before turning to look at the Devil's Seed that Samson Carswell was with a perfectly sweet smile on rosy lips.
"Go and jump off the nearest cliff, Samson Carswell. And take Gavin with you, if yo so desire." Actually, no - Issy would be slightly upset over that. Ugh. Willow would never fathom how she could be friends with one and dating the other. "Or just stay away from me. Both of you. Whichever."
Turning the smile off, the brunette turned to look at her hands.
Gavin Lupe made her blood BOIL. BOILBOILBOIL.
Deeeeeeeep breath. "Touchy, touchy," Samson muttered quietly as he leaned back on his chair, putting his hands behind his head. He was still smiling, though. "I was just trying to be nice." Snort. Like being nice to Willow Kovac would actually do one any good. Talking to Willow Kovac at all would do one no good. But he was here, and he was talking to her. Oh well.
Whatever was happening in the library, Samson could not understand it, or perhaps he just wasn't as interested as he should have been. In fact, he found himself losing interest more and more as the minutes ticked on. The others seemed to know what they were doing, but it was almost like he could have done his homework on his own, in the comfort of his own dormitory. Well, too late to go back now, since he was here with his stuff, sitting down, already too lazy to get up and try to work elsewhere.
But he couldn't work here, either. Too many distractions.
"How are you, then?" No, Willow. Samson would not go away. Sorry.

"How are you, then?" No, Willow. Samson would not go away. Sorry. Willow, in hopes to just forget about the presence of Samson Carswell next to hair, had actually started to pay attention to her surrounds and to what exactly was Rachel and the other girl who's name she didn't care to learn, were talking about.
It also seemed pretty clear to her that they were working in groups and ... stuff. Ugh. The only times Willow allowed herself to work on a team was during Quidditch - and she was not about to make an exception for some study session.
Which, brought her back to Samson, who, just like her, was not particularly interested in joining any of the groups, and was, therefore, staying there. Right. Next. To. Her.
She was SUCH A LUCKY GIRL.
... UGH! "You know, Samson," Started Willow in a murmur, reaching down and grabbing her messenger bag in order to take out some parchment, books and ink, "Just because you are with Issy doesn't mean with have to be friends. Or like each other. Or even talk, for that matter," continued the seventh year as she placed all her materials on the table, "But if you must know, I'm well. Busy with Quidditch, you know?" Her slender index finger pointed at the badge pinned to her robes, "But well nevertheless. And you?"
Tucking a strand of dark chocolate her behind her ear and looking around the room with a bored expression, the eighteen year old looked at the boy next to her again. "You should probably go and join the rest of the ... people. Join their groups." Hint, hint. Nudge, nudge.
GO!

Chris had allowed himself to be photgraphed by someone for their homework so he decided to stand up and take a picture of the library full of studying students as his last required photo. He stood up and Click! He had a picture of all the Slytherins, Gryffindors, Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs in the room!

| I'm like a lost goose. :P Wanna form a group? Need another member? *points to LouAnn* Hiss!Roar!Growl!Caw! | Hermione's Double | The Little Three | Alecate
Not really knowing exactly what she needed assistance on, LouAnn proceeded to pull each and every textbook she owned out of her bag. Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, Astronomy, Care of Magical Creatures...Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Divination, Herbology, History of Magic...Muggle Studies, Potions, and Transfiguration. Oh, and look! There was even a copy of "Quidditch Through the Ages" in her bag! Not wanting Flying class to feel left out, LouAnn dug that book out, as well.
Now, the question was...which subject should she tackle first? She glanced around the room, wondering if there was anyone out there who thought they just might need to brush up on all of the above.

GO! It was apparent that Willow was not up for casual conversation, or any other kind of conversation for that matter. But Samson didn't care, for he wasn't here to really make conversation with Willow. He was just here to be lazy and watch people be studious, and it just so happened that it was Willow whom he spotted first. It wasn't his fault.
Raising his feet on the seat adjacent to him, he pushed back and allowed his chair to lean back slightly. Ah, that was better. So much lost interest in the actual reason for being here, and yet he found he didn't care. In truth, pestering Willow here was a lot more interesting. No, not pestering. Um. Entertaining? Yeah. Besides, it brought back memories of Gavin. Heh.
"Ouch, Willow," he said, wrinkling his face up in mock hurt, even sticking his lower lip out in a pout as he looked sideways at her. "I know you love Issy, and I love Issy too," it was true, too. "But that doesn't mean I have to hate you, and we don't have to be friends, but we could be acquaintances. If you want me to hate you and not be friends, that's fine, but I can't not talk to you." Samson could provide no reason for that, but he decided he didn't need to. Didn't want to. He wasn't exactly messing with Willow, but it was admittedly funny how they were conducting their conversation. But deep down, reaaaally deep down, Samson couldn't exactly just ignore Willow because first of all, she was there, a Ravenclaw, and a seventh year just like he was. Then, she was his girlfriend's best friend. Then, she was his best friend's... love interest? Hehe. But she didn't know that, he was sure.
"And since we are talking here, I'm fine thanks. I... haven't been very busy." Shrug. Like he was supposed to be busy anyway? NOOOT.
He fell silent for a moment, watching her as she took her study materials out and seemingly tried to busy herself with them. Copying off her, Samson took out the only pathetic piece of crumpled parchment he had in his bag (he didn't come prepared, to say the least) and a nice, big, brown quill. Then he looked around. Nothing to do really, and it wasn't like he was going to write anything just like the others around him were doing.
"You kidding me? I'd rather stay here. I hate crowds, doing the same thing and all," he said absently.

Fyo's eyes widened a little as LouAnn [that was her name, wasn't it?] suddenly decided to empty her bag, and books came flying out. He noticed a copy of the fifth years' Arithmancy textbook, and his eyes brightened up at the very thought of the subject.
Hmmm, seemed like someone like her ought to help him re-do his History of Magic homework. Even though Fyo had completed it only this morning, the assignment hadn't gone too well.
He was hungry. |

He was hungry. Torin watched his best friend as he seemed to be totally bored and wanting to escape from here. And well, Torin was in a similar boat seeing as he had already did all his homework. He was mostly there just for Tammy. "Want to check over my homework, nerd?" he asked Fyo. Maybe that would give him something to do. Torin just needed to figure out how to occupy his mind. |

The one closest to her, the one she didn't know, was watching her with wide-eyes, no doubt wondering why in Merlin's name she needed every textbook she owned out on the table at once. "Oh, erm...couldn't decide what to study first," she mumbled, giving him a polite smile. "I probably need to study all of them, though. I'm LouAnn. Who're you?"

Oh. THEEERRE we go. Dominic finally said her name and she just smiled. "How's it going?" she asked, politely. Livvy wanted to be nice... and get to know him... not that she was trying to win brownie points with him because he was the Head Boy. Of course not. Noticing Livvy studying him again, Dominic frowned and was thankful though that she couldn't read minds. At least he didn't think she could, but really he couldn't know for certain. Just like she didn't know for certain that he had forgotten her name, as he had the tendency to do with those who were seemingly unimportant to him.
Polite though she was, as she asked how it was going. Even if it was just friendly banter, it was the sincerity of her words that caught him a bit off guard. But not TOO much, because one still needed to maintain vigilance... "It's going. And how about you? Classes well?" Because he couldn't remember if she'd just taken OWL exams or if she was taking them this year. Oh well; didn't matter to him really. Quote:

FROWNING! Yes, frowning. In the direction of the Head Boy now, Tammy raised her eyebrows, questioning the presence of the owl. But as soon as she had raised her eyebrows, DomERELLA had proceeded to take the letter and the owl had gone. WEIRD.
Eyebrows STILL completely raised, she shook her head and turned to Rachel. "Ummm. It seeems, we dont have ALOT of people. You wanna start?"
Because she was seemingly SCARED of starting anything. Oh darn; Tammy noticed the owl that came to him and then flew off after he untied the parchment. And she was FROWNING at him! Honestly though, it wasn't like it was anything that concerned her.... So why her curiosity and her frowning?! Did she really think he was plotting something against her?
He was arrogant, but he wasn't THAT cruel. Oh, they were starting soon? Excellent.
But speaking of arrogant and cruel... the seventh year tried not to stare when Willow had entered and then SOME boy entered and sat with her. Nooo... he was not jealous! He needed to be over her; she wanted to move on, then he had to too. HE could do this. Right? Yes! Because there would be others .... no Willow Liaden Kovac, but another shall come along. Eh - either way, they had no reason not to like each other so there. Rachel nodded to herself and then turned towards the door, trying to make people come through it with her eyes only. . .
o_O It was working. Weird. "All right guys, before we start I have a proposition. Would you like to work in level groups or subject groups? I have taken the liberty of writing up a list of our homework and we have a total of five official assignments to hand in with another, er, less formal one," she glanced around at them, wondering how many actually knew of Professor Ashby's informal homework. "We could split into five groups - or six, depending - with each one working on a different piece of homework. Once some of us are done, we could alternate between the groups so that we can get it all done tonight," she finished up, and nodded to everyone. Now it was time to see what they thought. Huh? Pulling his eyes away from Willow and the strange new boy - No he had NOT been staring ... much - he blinked at the Ravenclaw Prefect. She seemed miffed over his words to her? What did he do? Weird. Shaking it off, since she seemed to shrug it off, he nodded at her preposition.
Not a bad idea, and seeing how Cela was already going to help him with Runes, then this would be that subject area where he was... Cause that was the one subject he definitely struggled in. Quote:

"Dominic." When did they get to first names? "Let's try to get down to his office sometime this week. We only have half the year left, you know?" "I would suggest that since we did levels last time, perhaps this time we can focus on subjects," Copernicus suggested with a slight shrug. "That way those with special strengths can help those who need a bit of a push. And... what's this informal assignment?"
He glanced down at the prefects leading the meeting and considered what a very good example of inter-house cooperation this study session was. How else could you get everyone together working for one goal except for a goal such as this? He pulled out his camera and took a quick snapshot of the group. Community. Of course Copernicus would tell Cela about it; honestly he didn't REALLY mind if she knew. Actually, she would probably be of HELP to them, rather than a hindrance. So yes, it was NEWT prep and yes, if he told Cela - and he probably would - then he didn't REALLY have a problem with it. "Oh yes. True... We should get down to his office." Dominic sighed; where was the year going? Before he knew it, NEWTs would be here. And so would the end of Hogwarts and life as he knew it for the last four years. Quote:

Aww she'd miss Dom-in-ick when he left. It was almost enough to make her want to sabotage his NEWT results tooooo.
"Oh well, I'm all up to date on all my class work, I only have Defense Against the Dark Arts to do for homework, and I've been reading ahead in all my textbooks and stuff, so I'm kind of awesome. I have to get TWELVE OWLs." Celandine explained, her eyes going all wide cos it was seeeeeeerious business.
Heeeheeee.
"Awesome, Friend!Date in Hogsmeade!" Cela exclaimed and because she was sure that if she offered her hand for a high five, it would confuse her puffy buddy, Cela picked up his hand with one of hers, and made him high five her other hand. "Yeah!" "All of it?" Dominic mused, trying to make light of his Runic troubles. But it was TRUE! All of Runes confused him... "I think... maybe starting with translations?" Because that was what tripped him up on his OWL.
Wait ... WHAT?! It didn't matter what Cel-an-dine just said about being kind of awesome or her conceitedness or her willingness to help in ALL subject areas. Nor did it matter if she forced him into a high five. To be honest, he hardly noticed. It was her words that caught him up... That made him stare at her as if she'd LOST her mind. Have to get TWELVE OWLs; really? She HAD to?! And if she didn't? Then what? "Uh... twelve?" He continued to blink at her, trying to regain control in his voice. He only got eleven, which was, as far as he knew, "the record" for several decades. "And if you don't .... I mean, is it ELEVEN like that big a difference to whoever is forcing you to get twelve?" Unless it was her own personal goal, which would be INSANE.

Sticking her nose in the air and ignoring his antics -actually, Willow was just going to IGNORE Samson Carswell altogether- and as she allowed her green eyes to wander around the room lazily, they caught the sight of ... the Head Boy looking at her - at them, actually, for he was undoubtedly looking at the person next to her as well. WHY was he looking? Surely he didn't ... oh, great. WHY had he not gotten himself a girlfriend yet? THAT way she would be out of his head soon. Dominic Denton was clearly not a smart one, and no wonder why he'd not been sorted into Ravenclaw.
"Save the cute and sweet and just all around puke-inducing talk; I have no desire to hear about just how much you love Issy," commented Willow lightly and in a low tone of voice as her eyes went from the familiar Hufflepuff boy, to the ... green eyed and dark haired boy next to her. Great. Everyone had green eyes and dark hair these days. What was UP with people trying to copy her? "You should know, however," Continued the brunette, writing swiftly on her parchment about Dark creatures for the Defense Against The Dark Arts homework, "That if you break your heart, I will break your face. And quite possibly every single bone inside your pretty little body, too." Abruptly looking at him again, with a smile on her face, she finished, "Is that clear? Good."
... Which dark creature was the worst? They were all horrible, in Willow's opinion! Though Boggarts and Dementors were probably the worst, really ... "Hmm? Oh, right - acquaintances." Stopping a sentence in which she explained how facing a boggart had been almost a life scarring experience, Willow ventured a glance at Samson, head tipping to one side, considering him. "I guess I could try being your acquaintance." TRY being the keyword, folks. "But, see, the thing is, I don't like you the eighty percent of the time, and I'm fairly certain you don't like me either, so no promises okay? Don't get your hopes up." And she said this in an incredibly calm and light and almost friendly tone of voice.
Shrugging to herself and thinking that if Samson wanted to even try being acquaintances or whatever he'd better not bring up the thing he had for best friend, she went back to her Defense Against the Dark Arts Homework, only to be interrupted again. This was exactly why she hated studying in groups. "How come you are not busy?" Frowning, Willow forced herself to continue scribbling down about Boggarts and the stupidity of kneazles, "This is our NEWTs year. Are you actually as lazy and careless as you look?" Probably. He was, after all, Gavin Lupe's best friend. Which in Willow's mind meant that Samson was the equivalent of the Devil's Seed. "And look at that," Smirking (or was it actually smiling? It was hard to tell, for her face was still focused on the parchment as he hand scribbled down) "We have something in common; we both hate people."
Or crowds. Same difference.

Eeep, LOTS of homework. "You know," Fyo said, giving a roll of his eyes as Torin handed him a whole HEAP of assignments, "There's a phrase - one by one, I think, the phrase is - that could really teach you something." Honestly! How was Fyodor Balouch supposed to go through all of this at once? "But since it's you - nothing I can do, is there?"
With a slightly wry smile, he bent over the homework, beginning to study the contents of the first assignment. Quote:

"Oh, erm...couldn't decide what to study first," she mumbled, giving him a polite smile. "I probably need to study all of them, though. I'm LouAnn. Who're you?" Fyo shrunk a little when the girl addressed him. Not that he did not like her or anything - it was just his Shy!Shell. The thing had popped out of pretty much nowhere, after his initial "confusion" about the study session and, even though it was vanishing quickly, people he did not know that well still unnerved him. Not that much, nope - just a little.
Then LouAnn smiled, and Fyo found himself relaxing. "Fyo," he said, with a friendly smile of his own. "Fyodor Balouch. I'm in my fourth year - which year are you in? Have you done all your homework?" He added, out of curiosity. She defo seemed like the type, if you asked Fyo. |

That was when he noticed that LouAnn was there as well. "Hey, LouAnn. How's it going?" he asked her with a casual smile. He was a little surprised to see her here; she seemed to be someone that didn't need help with homework. But then Fyo was there as well, so stranger things have happened. |

Okay. EH. Rachel, time to talk now. Tammy can't do this alone. NUH-UH.
EEE. She was failing. Fast!
"Okay, so if you group off now, that would be good." Or not. Rachel, help Naow? NAOW. NAAAAOOOOOWWWW!
Okay, it was time to get a move on. "So yeah, split really. And we'll come round, check, help. So off you go." That didn't sound evil, didn't sound too push-overy. Well it did, but still.
These huffies were getting a lecture, they were gonna. She NEEDED support. NEEDED it.

Split up? Now? But Torin's homework -- oh well, he would go over that later, Fyo decided. But go over it, he definitely would, because Fyo was not the kind to leave, in mid-path, something that he had started with vigour or expectation. "I'll be Arithmancy, right?" He sort of asked, his eyes on Tammy. "I mean, it's my strongest subject, and..."
His voice, which had lowered itself with each word, turned into an incoherent sort of mumble, and died away.

EEEPPP! AHA, notice had been taken of her. By question boy. As he was going to be known as to her now. Just because it was COOOL! "eR. Yes please." PURRRRYTY PLEASE. Make my day fantastic, and help with the Arithmancy bunch.
"Okay, so. . we have one person who's gonna help with Arithmancy. So yeah."
That was a bit louder.

That was a bit louder. So yeah? WHATWHATWHAT?
Fyo eyed Tammy for a second, then eyed his Arithmancy textbook [in awesome condition despite its frequent usage, and cheerfully peeking out of the zipper of his school-bag], then eyed Tammy again.
"I like you," he said decisively. "You're kinda cool."

Eva looked around at all the groups forming. "If anybody needs a hand at Muggle Studeis, Arithmancy or History of Magic, I'll be glad to help." she annouced, slightly frowing. She was mostly good at drawing and theorical subjets, so she was already guessing she wouldn't be much of help for the other students. Yet, it sounded fun to study in groups.
But she was soon distracted with the drawing in hands: |

These huffies were getting a lecture, they were gonna. She NEEDED support. NEEDED it. Rachel couldn't help but grin from ear to ear as people seemed to like her idea. She really didn't fancy acting "Professor" so this seemed like the best idea - if people needed help, OTHER people could held them. Hehe. "To the people who need help with the subjects that have already been mentioned," like her, for example "just get straight to it. Others - come to me and Tamzin, and we'll help you ourselves until someone else volunteers. Of course, you can come to us anyway," she said, wishing that she wasn't a Prefect today. She LIKED helping people study but she wasn't that great at some subjects...
But they needed to get the session going. Some had already began to study - or rather, talk *cough*WILLOW*cough* - but others were still looking for help, as far as she could see. Tamzin had better be good at teaching because there were some things Rachel needed help with herself couldn't help others with on her own.
