Dominic Denton, prepare to be flown upon! Quote:
The owl hooted as it dived towards it's goal, hoping to land on the boy's head. Instead, it missed by a few inches and landed on the table, sprawled ontop of an Arithmancy book. Still as an untouched Berty Bott poo flavoured bean, it held it's leg out where a rolled up piece of parchment was tied. It waited. (as soon as the letter is removed, it flieees aweeey!) |
haha, i love you, Claudia! ;) Quote:
Sure they talked, but he didn't know what to do with her. He liked her and wrote poems about her, for her, but other that, nothing. Yet Copernicus, seemed to get it right and he had no more experience than he had. At least Dom didn't think he did. Sighhh. "Copernicus." He greeted, for once not reciprocating the last name greeting. "It's good and yes, we do still need to visit Svennson." Time seems to get the best of them sometimes and Dominic wondered where it went at times. Quote:
"That would be great," Dominic agreed, because even though he had no intentions of doing ANYTHING with Ancient Runes in his future, he still wanted to prove he could do better than a Troll in the subject. And speaking of doing better, she just HAD to bring up the dreaded NEWT examinations. "It's ... going," Dominic answered vaguely, because honestly he HADN'T given much thought to preparation as he should have. Except taking Copernicus' advice and making that study schedule. But following the schedule; now that was something else entirely! "And your OWL preparation?" Dom asked, changing the subject around. Wait . . . WHAT? Hang? What does that even mean? "Uh... Yes, Hogsmeade, but I'm not particularly fond of hanging anywhere," he explained, as he recalled from distant memory about Cel-an-dine and her tree-climbing ventures. Because he was NOT going tree-climbing with her, even if she tried to make him. That was where he drew the line. Wait? No!! Cela can't know about why him and Copernicus want to talk to Svennson. That wasn't public information; it was probably silly in some regards, but it was excellent NEWT prep and provided them with practical experience for almost all areas. Quote:
"What the?!" Noticing the letter, Dom swallowed nervously and untied it from the leg of the owl. Which just as he got the letter free, before he could take in the full appearance of the owl, it flew off as though satisfied its work was done and in a hurry to carry on with the next mission. Reading the letter, he frowned, because of the reminders it carried with him. Odd; three years ago, he never thought he would be this sad about leaving. And now . . . three years later . . . Sigh |

.... Anyhow, she wanted to get started. Not that she cared for studying. She just wanted to DO something. Or do something somewhat useful or beneficial. Quote:
Romance? ... Yeaaahh.. no. Not her thing. How many times had she failed at this so called 'life course'. A bajillion of times, that was for sure. No way was she, Olivia Zhang, taking it again. Pushing all that aside, Livvy studied the guy's face. He seemed to be pondering something. What was he pondering? Did he not know who she was? That was highly possible. No one ever knew who she was. She was highly unpopular and insignificant that probably at her death, they'll write Liver instead of Livvy in her obituary. Uncool. Oh. THEEERRE we go. Dominic finally said her name and she just smiled. "How's it going?" she asked, politely. Livvy wanted to be nice... and get to know him... not that she was trying to win brownie points with him because he was the Head Boy. Of course not. Quote:

Looking over at Rachel, Tammy bit her lip. GRRRREAT, still only a tincey amount of people. They should get started. Yes? Maybe in a moment. Quote:
Quote:
Eyebrows STILL completely raised, she shook her head and turned to Rachel. "Ummm. It seeems, we dont have ALOT of people. You wanna start?" Because she was seemingly SCARED of starting anything. |
The study sessions seemed to be such a good idea, and she was pleased to see that students from all houses were present. With a smile, she walked through the tables, greeting the students and inquiring as to their well-being. "What's on the agenda today?" She asked as she neared the prefects that were hosting the session. |

Kohan nodded slowly as Tammy answered her. "Sounds like a good plan..." She trailed off. "Well then, I'll just come around every now and again to see if anyone needs help. If something comes up, you know where to find me." With that said, she turned and headed off towards the front desk. |
Mmmm, he was here. So who else was? Quite a number of familiar faces, Fyo thought, as he stepped into the circle of their sight, his collar stiff, his hair tousled. You could tell, at first sight, that he had been out in the grounds - his cheeks were red, as if against the wind, and his hands were a little blue. Not that he did not like it - winter was, always had been, Fyodor Balouch's favourite sort of weather. Rain, too. "Hello," he said politely to pretty much everyone in the vicinity, before taking a seat at Torin's Brody-free side. "Hey, Torinkitty. Hey there, Brody." |
Willow's excuse for coming to the study session this time was because Rachel, a fellow Ravenclaw, was running it with ... some other ... person. Prefect, surely, by the looks of it. And Hufflepuff, too. She did not think she was familiar with the girl's name. Then again, Kovac made a point to forget about people that she didn't particularly care to get to know? Yes, that was her. Tugging on a strand of dark hair, and with a bored expression on her face, the Ravenclaw's green eyes went from the Hufflepuff female prefect to the other people in the room. Not enough Ravenclaws. Dropping her messenger bag on the floor loud enough to let people know she had arrived, but not too loud so she would get in trouble with Madam Kohan, Willow casually slid into a seat a little farther away from her peers before distracting herself with her perfectly clean nails. |
Ahhhhh, House conglomeration. Lovely. Picture perfect, Jake would say. Teehee. As Jake walked PAST the study area, the boy quickly whipped out his camera and took a picture of the people within, with all the different goings on. Siiiiiigh... it was like one of those paintings one of those old geezers used to do, where there were loads of things happening in ONE picture. And now, three down, two to go. Jake noticeably LEFT the study session (because he just didn't/couldn't DO that kind of stuff) and tried to find a couple more interesting things. |

Surely, Samson was all camaraderie and making buddies with his fellow Ravenclaws and other houses to make homework and share points (NOT) and all such stuff that a diligent student usually did. Yes, Samson was for all that and more. Unless he was the one doing it, then that was a different story. it just so happened that Samson had nothing better to do at the moment, and while he had always been comfortable with doing school work on his own, the notice on the bulletin board in the Common Room about a study session was rather enticing. Er, whatever. Since this was his first study session, he decided on sitting away from everyone else, just observing and see how things were done around here. But of course, it was fun to at least talk to someone. And, how unfortunate it was that it was a Miss Willow Kovac that he happened to spot first. Heh. He quietly slid in a seat beside her, dropped his bag to the floor soundlessly, leaned in a spoke in a whisper. "Gavin sends his love." Stiffle giggle now. |
Quote:
The thoughts in Willow's mind would have been Lalala had she been someone else. But, since she was not, the Ravenclaw's thought were a mixture of humming lightly and mumbling about the people gathered in the study area of the library. Stupid Library. She did not like them. And stupid personal space invaders, refusing to respect ridiculously large personal space bubble. Stiffening on her seat and then willing herself to take a deep breath, Willow's expression regained her cool -for the most part- before turning to look at the Devil's Seed that Samson Carswell was with a perfectly sweet smile on rosy lips. "Go and jump off the nearest cliff, Samson Carswell. And take Gavin with you, if yo so desire." Actually, no - Issy would be slightly upset over that. Ugh. Willow would never fathom how she could be friends with one and dating the other. "Or just stay away from me. Both of you. Whichever." Turning the smile off, the brunette turned to look at her hands. Gavin Lupe made her blood BOIL. BOILBOILBOIL. Deeeeeeeep breath. |
Okay, it seemed people weren't gonna turn up now, and if they did. It was easier to just explain to them then instead of keeping everyone else waiting. Okay, time to start. Time for Tammy to start. GRRREAT. They all seemed so more scary now. Swallowing, and approaching the small-ish group. She smiled, okay. . . They SEEMED friendly. But if ANYONE tried to eat her, she was so GONE. Rachel could handle it then. Obviously she could. It wasn't hard. "Okay. . Well.. Er, Thanks for coming today guys." Deep breath, swallow, nothing on her face. Easy peasy. Maybe. "I'm Tammy, and thats Rachel." She could've introduced herself, but it was easier to let Tammy get going now she had plucked up the courage to actually talk. "I think the plan for this session, should maybe be to focus on the homework thats been set. There's been alot set, and I know from myself just mooching around, that some people haven't got their homework done and need time to do it. So maybe, if you need to work on something, you could start and then if you need help and theres someone in here that's already done it and is willing to help. Then you can interact that way." Interaction part DONE. Now, if Rachel slated her, then she was SO going to be flying solo on this. They had worked on things last lesson according to years and stuff, but maybe it was easier to get interacting with different years who maybe had the same homework as them but weren't in the Exam stages. Maybe. Checking to see if anyone had any objections, Tammy looked up from her feet and around at the group. |
Look at me - Haven't done HALF the HW & Fyo's claiming he's done it all. Poor boy. xD Quote:
Fyo blinked. He was, as always, absolutely up-to-date on his homework, and had expected FURTHER study. I mean, what was the point of a study session, if it only focused on homework? That, one had to do, no matter what. If one didn't want to end up scrubbing Professor Bunbury's PINK! high-heels with shiny PINK! shoe-polish, that is. Buttt... well... you know. "Um, Tammy?" He asked, not sure if he was supposed to call her "Prefect Wood." Because, no matter how oh-so-professional that sounded, it was just plain freaky. TOTALLY. "I'm up-to-date on all of my homework, is there anything else I can do?" Then, realizing that might make it sound as if he was not-so-right in the head [He had just told 5464574 people how HUUUGE a nerd he was, oh God], he added, in an embarrassed sort of mumble that could barely be heard, so low his voice was, "This is my first study session. I didn't know the -" MAJJORRR GULLPP! "- agenda, or I would have left some homework. Pleasedon'tbebad." Ah yes, a plea, those last words. |
Jess: I know that, but mah Rachie doesn't! Quote:
Speaking of those - where were Livvy and Reid?! "To me?" Rachel blinked rapidly, evidently confused. WHY did she want to talk to her? And in private too? If she thought that just because she was a seventh year she had the power to kill her that Huffie was in for a rude awakening. "Fine... But I reserve my right to leave at any point, any time," she reluctantly agreed, her curiosity getting the better of her. Not that she had ANY interest in what Eva had to say, but she HAD mentioned Jake - and anything Jake-related was important to her. Quote:
Quote:
Right. So Huffies could mock the unloyal, she could mock the unwise... Quote:
Eh - either way, they had no reason not to like each other so there. Rachel nodded to herself and then turned towards the door, trying to make people come through it with her eyes only. . . o_O It was working. Weird. Quote:
"All right guys, before we start I have a proposition. Would you like to work in level groups or subject groups? I have taken the liberty of writing up a list of our homework and we have a total of five official assignments to hand in with another, er, less formal one," she glanced around at them, wondering how many actually knew of Professor Ashby's informal homework. "We could split into five groups - or six, depending - with each one working on a different piece of homework. Once some of us are done, we could alternate between the groups so that we can get it all done tonight," she finished up, and nodded to everyone. Now it was time to see what they thought. |
Quote:
EEEEEP. O___o WHAII? Think, THINK FAST! She wasn't very good at fast thinking. NUH-UH. "Oh, well. If there's something in a lesson that maybe you didn't understand, and maybe need some help with. I'm sure someone in here could help . . UM." Name. What on earth was his name? YIKERS. They needed like a register. "Or you could maybe try and re-do a homework you think you did real bad on, and be sure on the technique. Or maybe help someone else." HELP! Quote:

Surely SOME people would need help. . . |
Lucille walked into the library quietly and sat down quetly, as it looked like they were already in session. Ok, so she wasn't exactly up to date on her homework, but she felt like she had to come. It couldn't do her any harm, could it? Lucille opened her bag and spilled her books onto the table, brow furrowed. There were SO MANY! How could she keep up with all this? Gulp. She sat with a worried expression on her face, just staring at the mountain of books in front of her. |
Eva didn't have any problems agreeing with Rachel's propositions. The girl is smart, she thought, stating what she already knew about Jake Rider's niece. That didn't exactly mean she had to like her, but she had to give her some credit. Plus, she was the Prefect Eva needed to talk to. "Just one thing." she heard her own voice raising above the general noise. "We could also work with older students helping the youger or the better students on a certain subject tutoring the ones that can't understand it so well. Isn't it how groups should be divided?" she threw her questions into the air to see if anyone agreed. After all, the point of the session was for the students to help each other studying all the different subjects. |
Chris smiled at Rachel and Tammy. He gave them both a thumbs up! They were doing such a great job! He then nodded and listened as they were deciding on splitting up into subject groups. He stood up for a minute and said, "Hey guys! Im finished with most of my homework and would love to help anyone of they need it." he grinned again and then sat down to wait for someone. |

"Dominic." When did they get to first names? "Let's try to get down to his office sometime this week. We only have half the year left, you know?" Quote:

He glanced down at the prefects leading the meeting and considered what a very good example of inter-house cooperation this study session was. How else could you get everyone together working for one goal except for a goal such as this? He pulled out his camera and took a quick snapshot of the group. Community. |

Livvy giggled as she bent her head down when the boy reached over and ruffled her hair a bit. "Thanks for that Perni. Perfected by uncompleted look," she said, sticking her tongue out playfully. Hiding? Since when was she hiding? Livvy figured that she was all over the place. From one place to the other. "Well, I haven't been hiding anywhere, Perni. ... Where have YOU been hiding?" AHAHAHAHA. Backfire! WHOO! ... Not saying that Copernicus Kettleburn was hiding anywhere of course. Quote:
Okay. Maybe not. Livvy didn't know her. She listened as that Hufflepuff Prefect began talking, not quite paying attention to what she was saying. More like... the shoes. How stylish. And then, Rachel spoke up! YAAAAYYY! Livvy immediately perked up and watched and listened to what Rachel said, carefully. Erm. Her opinion? Livvy scratched her head as she thought. "I think that maybe we should focus on subjects this time. Some subjects are more difficult than others and those that may be more knowledgeable in that specific area would be able to help students that are struggling," she said, biting her lip. HA! The informal assignment. Ohhhh... Professor Ashby. |
Ugh. There was no way that Lucille was even going to ATTEMPT to even start all this hoomework. Ignoring it was the best pollicy. "Er, yeeeeahh," she said in what she imagined was a convincing voice. It wasn't. "I've finished, so i'll, just, you know, pack up." She swiftly swept her books into a corner of the library. Slyyyyyyy. |
poooooor Dommy wommmmy wooooo *cheek pinches* Quote:
Aww she'd miss Dom-in-ick when he left. It was almost enough to make her want to sabotage his NEWT results tooooo. "Oh well, I'm all up to date on all my class work, I only have Defense Against the Dark Arts to do for homework, and I've been reading ahead in all my textbooks and stuff, so I'm kind of awesome. I have to get TWELVE OWLs." Celandine explained, her eyes going all wide cos it was seeeeeeerious business. Heeeheeee. "Awesome, Friend!Date in Hogsmeade!" Cela exclaimed and because she was sure that if she offered her hand for a high five, it would confuse her puffy buddy, Cela picked up his hand with one of hers, and made him high five her other hand. "Yeah!" Quote:
"I think subjects too." Cela agreed promptly, "Or just... whatever." Because Cela was totally GLAD that she got to study with Dom-in-ick, Copernicus and Livvy. WOO! Quote:
"Ooooh I can help in almost EVERY area!" Cela exclaimed when Livvy agreed with the subject division thing. "Not so much Astronomy though, like at least not reaaaaal Astronomy." |
