Kris's eyes flew open and he snorted as he tried desperately not to laugh.
DON'T DO THAT! He was sooooo ticklish! That was probably one of the reasons that he loved to use Rictusempra on people. Give them a taste of their own medicine...

And yes, room service via pheonix. Not very traditional, but it will work.Kris glanced down the hall, and caught a glimpse of Feuer's beautiful red feathers coming their way. As he passed Torin, Feuer dipped and gave a powerful flap in the direction of his head, careful not to drop his load of food.

Kris covered his mouth to stop the laugh from coming out.
Feuer! he scolded, grinning all the while.

Well, orders up! Kris untied the bundle from Feuers leg and opened it up. First, he tossed a small hunk of meat to his feathered friend, who deftly caught it in his beak, and settled in next to Alex to make short work of it. He then placed two cups and a flask of Butterbeer between Alex and himself. Next was a loaf of still-warm bread, a closed container of soup, and some cheese.

He ripped of a small chunk of bread, dipped it in the soup, and held it out to feed to Alex.

"Thanks, for everything."

Kris smiled. Anytime.

Whit backed away from him when she heard his tone of voice. "I didn't know you had broken it before," she said, trying not to feel hurt. She knew all of this was her fault, well not all of it, but the jumping on him part was definitely her fault. "I didn't mean to hurt you, I would never intentionally do that." She kept telling herself that he was only yelling at her because of the Alex situation, although she was having a hard time believing it. "I'm sorry." Whit wasn't used to people being upset with her. She stood up and took a step back from him, making sure he had enough personal space. 'Just don't use too many words and you'll be okay.'

Alex smiled at Kris again as he laughed. Smiling was getting a little easier, and the weight on her chest didn't feel as heavy as it had before. Kris was right, she needed not to dwell on what happened as well as be around someone. If she stayed by herself, she was bound to get worse.

A flash of red caught Alex's eyes as Feuer flew down the hall toward them. The phoenix was so majestic, and beautiful it hnever failed to take her breath away. "Yes it will work." She said in an awed voice as Feuer landed next to them with food. She patted his head lightly as he settled next to her.

"He is so beautiful really, how do you get used to having such a magnificent animal?" She asked him as he handed her a chunk of bread that he had dipped in soup. She put it to her mouth, and started to eat. It was a bit hard at first, but slowly she managed to get it down.

"That is very good." She said smiling gratefully at Kris. "Thanks."

'What a pretty bird.' She thought, until she saw it fly towards Torin. 'Bad bad birdy.' That boy really seemed to have it out for poor Torin.

"It's okay, I shouldn't have jumped on you." Although she still didn't see why he wouldn't just link his pinky with hers. "I knew you were going to get upset after I did it, but I couldn't help myself?" It was terrible that he'd broken his nose, not once, but twice in one whole term.

"Quidditch, I'm guessing?" What else could have done that?

Kris smiled. I guess I just did. I was only like 8 when I rescued him, and he had just been reborn, so he turned into how he is now slowly. Wasn't really a huge sudden change. He is beautiful though, isn't he?

He reached over and stroked Feuers neck.

Kris watched with rising hopes as Alex managed to eat a few bites of bread and soup.

The least we could do. I could think of a couple others too.. Kris commented dangerously, eyeing Torin out of the corner of his eye.

"You couldn't help yourself?" What the heck? Crazy child.

"Yeah, I got it broken during Quidditch." He had thought everyone knew tat by now. Apparently he had been wrong.

Alex listened quietly as Kris told his story. "How did you find him?" She asked after he was done talking. "I mean did you walk down an alley and see him? I did not think they were common." She said softly. "And yes he is beautiful." she said smiling.

She took some more food and ate it slowly. She was getting full, off of two bites. Goodness she really did need to eat more.

She watched as Kris glanced at Torin and she sighed a bit as she put a hand on Kris's arm. "Well thanks for being here and feeding me, you are such a great friend to me." She said gratefully.

Kris sighed. Long story short: my dad use to have lots of meetings at other's houses, and I would sometimes have to tag along. I wandered off, and Feuer was in a tiny cage in the basement, horribly dirty, no food, just reborn, so I snuck him inside of my jacket and hid him till he was too big to get rid of. The man who had him had gotten him illigally anyways so he couldn't really do anything to get him back, as my dad worked for the German MoM. We've been inseperable ever since.

Kris grinned and stroked Feuer again, who was busy preening his wings.

He looked over to Alex again. She looked less pale, but that was about it. I'll always be here for you Alex. 24/7. Send a patronus for me whenever you need.

Alex listened awestruck as Kris told the story of how he got Feuer. "Wow, I can't believe people can be so cruel to animals like that. Especially such a magnificent animal like Feuer." She turned to look at the bird and smiled. "He is really lucky to have you Kris." She said softly as she ate a bit more.

"Thanks, I appreciate it so much. You never really know who your friends truly are until something bad happens. I am glad you are here with me now." Alex smiled a little and leaned her head on Kris's shoulder. Somewhat at peace at that moment.

Kris rested his head on top of hers.
No, I think it's more that I'm lucky to have him. We lived in the country, so aside from school, I didn't really have any friends. Feuer kept me sane on my visits home.

In this case, I think I'd rather not have had the bad thing happen.
He grinned at her ruefully.

Alex smiled a little as Kris rested his head on top of hers. She felt..okay at the moment. Something she hadn't felt in awhile.

"Aww well I don't think there is a better friend to be found then a phoenix. I live in the country as well, so all I have are my brothers and sisters." She said softly, "And my animals." She yawned a bit. She was feeling tired. A first for her in over a week.

She nodded at his statement. "Me too, I wish I could go back in time and take everything that happened back, the kissing, the telling. Everything. Part of me wishes I had never met Torin Kane." She snuggled a bit more next to Kris.

Well, its a little hard to carry on a conversation, but other than that, your right. Aside from people of course. But phoenixes are super smart. He can't talk back, but he can understand. He knows how to cheer me up. He knows how to trick me, and he definately how to get his way.

Kris laughed and danced his fingers across Feuers wing. The bird playfully batted his hand away and nipped at him, then returned his head under his wing to finish his nap.

As Alex snuggled in closer, Kris put his arm around her and sighed. Maybe that would be good. But maybe this will all work out. No matter how much I don't want to admit it, Torin didn't mean to hurt you. He was pretty tore up.

Alex laughed a little as Kris spoke. "Yes it would be hard to carry on a conversation with him." She said smiling as she watched Kris interact with Feuer. It was so cute. Really it was. They seemed like they were best friends and it was so amazing to watch them interact. "Almost sounds like a girl." Alex said playfully, "Well, we know sometimes how to get out way." She teased him.

Alex fell silent as Kris mentioned Torin. "I am not sure how this could work out, but.. I guess if he ends up happy. That is all I can ask for. Even if it is not with me." She said finally.

"I know he didn't mean to hurt me.. Everyone says it. But that doesn't make me feel any better. It is almost like I am in the wrong here. Like I shouldn't be so broken hearted.." Alex sighed a bit.

Kris laughed. No, Feuer is WAY less confusing than girls
He stuck his tougue out at her.

Oh nice one Kris. He was the one trying, and so far succeeding, and distracting and cheering her up, and now he had been the one to bring it up and make her sad again!

There was some serious mental kicking going on here.

I know it doesn't. And you are NOT in the wrong! Don't think that for one second. That an order missy. He poked her side and grinned.

Now he just had to cross his fingers and hope that she would bounce back...

Alex giggled a little as Kris spoke and stuck his tongue out at her. "Oh please! Girls are not confusing at all! It is boys who are!" Alex nodded firmly as she poked Kris in the side. She smiled at him teasingly and laughed a little. "Okay, so we can be a bit confusing.. but if you ever need translation, let me know. I can help."

She sighed a little as he spoke. "Okay, I will try Sir!" She said as she saluted him. Kris had been the only one so far who had been able to distract her from what she had been feeling. Warren had only made it worse by telling her Torin was in love with her!

"I wish everyone could be as sweet as you." She said sighing as she laid her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes.

Shana lead Evelyn up to the seventh floor corridor."C'mon its just up here!" she said pointing a bit up the further on the corridor.

'Well no wonder I haven't found this place yet. It's all the way up here!' Frowning as she glanced around in the seventh floor corridor, she was getting more and more excited at finally finding this room. It was going to be very very VERY useful to her in the future. She had no clue as to how it was, but it was going to! "Alright." she whispered, catching up to Shana since she was lagging behind slightly.

Nate was wondering the hall. He was looking at his feet. He tripped over a uneven stone and fell right into Carter. "Dude! I am so sorry!" he said standing up straight.

Carter began to get up. "No man, don't worry about..." he began before seeing who it was. His face changed from bright and cheery to a little angry. "What are you doing up here?" he asked.

"I was looking for Ella. Why?" he said backing up a foot. Carter seemed angry.

"Are you two dating now?" Carter asked. With no Kylie in the picture he had no doubt the he'd already made his move.

"Yeah. Why? She told me you guys weren't dating. You aren't right? I hate those rumors about cheating with people when I was with Kylie." he said worrying.
