Chris Potter slid open the door to the spacious Prefects' Compartment and found it empty. 'Oh well.' He thought. 'Look's like I'm the first one here.' He took a seat by the window to wait for the other Prefect's to show up for the annual meeting. He already had pulled out a notepad and had it ready for any start of term notes that he might need to take. Typical bookworm.
He was pretty excited to meet all the new Prefects. They had lost a few due to graduating. He would definately miss Clifford, Anna, Evangaline, and Vanessa, but he was sure the new batch would be just as good. He had already met Vanessa's replacement in Weasle's Wizard Wheezes and looked forward to talking to her again, aswell as his fellow returning Prefects.

| YesJess! | Captain Goggles | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers One reason Dominic was not looking forward to the meeting with the Prefects: Evolette McKenna. Of course he knew he had to work with her and grin-and-bear her; thankfully it was only one term, he had to keep reminding himself. One term and they were graduated and never had to cross paths again. Hopefully anyway.
Maybe she would forget about their meeting and make his life easier. Unlikely ...
Stopping just outside the Prefect's compartment, the sixteen year old stared at the door for a split second before realizing he ought to pin on his new badge. Reaching into his pocket, Dominic carefully pinned it right above his Prefect Badge. Head Boy - it was official now.
And with that, he entered the room. Pleased - almost - that only one person was there before him. Chris Potter, returning Gryffindor Prefect. "Hey Chris," he nodded towards him as he slipped into the compartment and took a seat opposite him near the window. Chris had never really struck him as a bad guy; of course he didn't really too much about him, but nonetheless... he wasn't bad. "How was your summer?"

Chris looked up as at last the door slid open to reveal possibly a new Prefect? Nope Dominic Denton instead. Oh well he would get to meet the new ones eventually. He smiled at Dom and said, "Oh hey Dominic! Congrats on becoming Head Boy. I'm sure you will do well." he watched as he took a seat across from him. "My summer was good, just stayed home mostly. I've read alot of my school books already! I can't wait for some of this term's Arithmancy lessons. If Professor Shackelbolt does all the things I read about!" Uh-oh Chris had just had a major geek out moment. He was far from a nred in the traditional sense. He was still pretty popular and had many friends, played sports and everything. He just loved to go to classes and read alot. He smiled hoping Dom didn't think he was strange for reading his textbooks and then he went on about his summer. "My family and I did got to the coast for a few days for a small vacation. But I flew alot this summer. I wanted to get ready for Quidditch Try-Outs this term. I want Jack to see that I can help the team." Chris grinned. "So how was your summer?" he asked.

Jack entered the Prefects Compartment and found that two were already here. 'Hi there!' he said as he stashed his gear, then sat down.
He thought about pulling out his drumsticks, but he knew that others tended to finding his constant drumming annoying, so he just sat quietly, thinking about the new term ahead.

Sixth year. Wow - she was... Old. And old was precisely how she felt when she stepped onto the Hogwarts Express. After saying goodbye to her uncle - who had insisted on reminding her every five seconds that this train ride was pointless because she lived five minutes away from the castle - she rummaged through her back just to check that she had everything before walking up to the train, her trunk already in place.
Rachel's sixth year... The year before last. It was supposed to start off fun, lively but because of her 'eventful' summer, she felt like she wanted to do nothing more than sleep. Which is what she had been doing ever since returning from Paris. She had cried herself to sleep more times than she'd care to admit and while she knew she was justified, Rachel still felt a little ashamed of how she handled things.
But she was more ashamed of her current physical state, if truth be told. True, she could have applied some charms but they weren't actually supposed to do magic outside school so she had dropped that idea. And as a result, she looked like the worst version of hell you could possibly find. Her skin had a pale, unhealthy glow to it - one you get from not getting enough sunlight. Her hair, now pulled into a ponytail, was frizzy and unkempt; a huge contrast from the sleek, shiny, perfect hair she always has.
But the worst - in her opinion - was the state of her eyes. Her green gray eyes, usually bright and sparkling, were dull and slightly bloodshot. The bags under them were so big they almost reached the tip of her nose and the fact that she kept rubbing them did nothing to make herself look any more presentable.
Well, at least the black and blue Hogwarts Ravenclaw uniform she had on couldn't look bad.
First stop - Prefect's compartment. Sliding open the doors, she walked in and almost groaned to see that all the occupants were guys. Great. "Hey Chris, Dominic, Jack," she said, her voice steady and clear as she addressed each of them with a polite nod. She wasn't a big fan of the opposite gender right now.
Walking into the compartment, she took a seat next to Chris Potter, preferring him to the older Dominic for reasons that if she thought about them, would make her collapse. "Congrats on the Head Boy," she stated suddenly, noticing for the first time the difference badge he had on. Suddenly more tired than before - no sleep can do that to you - she leaned her head back and rolled it so that she was staring past Chris and out the window.
Year Six - here we go.

Tammy gave a little deep breath through her nose and out her mouth, before she even got to the door. This seemed like a good experience, but the door looked scary. BIG and scary. EEEE, how could a seventeen year old find this door scary? It was only a door to a compartment, filled with people.. Okay, so she had a hunch it wasnt going to be filled, but the concept was still the same.
Quickly her brown eyes met the badge pinned on her robes and a tiny, almost noticable smile came to her lips. No more deep breaths, just open the darned door, smile, sit down. It'll work perfectly. I promise. Brains were not handy in this instance. Not at all.
The steps her fett took, where a whirl and she only snapped out of the more deep breathing as her hands touched the handle and opened the door. Scanning the compartment she gave a nervous smile, and a nod. Dom... Chris... Someone she hadn't met.. And Rachel. How on earth had she not figured it out in the pea sized brain of hers that she was still going to be prefect. It was normal.
Blonde roots. SIMPLE. "Hi.." Tammy mumbled quickly and walked in, almost timidly, taking a seat near Chris. It was easier considering, he was the only not scary one in the room.
And the nervousness was showing, fiddling with thumbs.. That was nervous.

Not long after Jack had walked in he saw the door open again. It was the other Ravenclaw Prefect, and a friend of his, Rachel Rider. As she walked in Chris smiled smally to her. He could tell she wasn't in a good mood. She wasn't smiling, obviously, but her eyes were puffy and bloodshot. She was defiantely upset. He patted her shoulder as she sat down next to him but didn't say anything exept. "Hello Rachel." Quote:

Chris then look up again to see the new Head Girl and Prefect for Slytherin walk in. 'Man everyone is showing up at the same time.' he thought to himself. He returned the smile Evolette gave him and the others and he smiled back and decided to introduce himself, seeing as he had heard about her and seen her around but he had never really met her before. "Hello, Im Chris Potter. Congrats on making Prefect and Head Girl." he said happily.

Pushing her curly blond hair out of her face, Winnie pushed open the door of the prefect's compartment. To be perfectly honest (and Winnie was nothing if not brutally so) she was TERRIFIED to be back at Hogwarts as a prefect for her fifth term. What would be expected of her? It was bad enough with OWLs approaching at the speed of the Knight Bus, but these new responsibilities of hers...it'd probably be weird at best. She was quite content to hide in the dungeons over a simmering cauldron of whatever she'd made up that week, with... maybe...a tall, nice-smelling, nice-haired sort of male...boy...person. That is, if she saw him at all, and she hadn't since that day in Diagon Alley.
But anyway. For this newfangled prefect's compartment business, and the badge that was burning a hole on her lapel, Winnie was wholly unprepared. And when Winnie was unprepared, Winnie TALKED.
"Hi hullo how is everyone did you all have a good summer I'm Winnie I'm in Gryffindor have we met...everyone?" She looked around the car and rummaged inside herself for her Stunning Smile, and hitched it up hastily on her face.
Or, she grinned a maniacal sort of way.

"Is this... everyone?" Evolette asked, her tone indicative of how much fun she was NOT having at the moment. Really, weren't they meant to be having some sort of meeting here? She DID have other important things to do you know.
Of course, she was well aware that they were missing one Prefect. Her other half. The Slytherin Male. BUT. Apparently, her ego was big enough to take on both parts of this thing, and he was nowhere to be seen.
Her blue eyes turned to Denton, and she raised an eyebrow expectantly. Was he going to do his job now? She'd already done hers. She made the Head Girl/Head Boy team look pretty! "For those of you, who do not know me." She started, her voice clear and strong, "I am Evolette McKenna. Your new Head Girl." Tehe. Yep. She finished with a smile, and a wave. Like she was the new Miss Universe.
Which, in her mind, she SO was. |

Sending another small smile, this time in the direction of the Gryffindor girl, she raised her other hand and gave it a tiny jolt, which was intended to be taken as a wave. But, it wasnt THAT big, so maybe it wouldnt.
Glancing around the compartment again, she scowled. Dominic Denton was a LIAR. He hadn't told her he was Head Boy. It woulda been nice to know that he was. Silly Billy he was. Tammy turned her scowl, into a straight, forced straight, line and made a note to tell him that she was going to get him back for lieing not telling HER the truth. Did he not think she had enough missing up in her head, aswell as being short.
Still, he WAS too tall. Maybe meeting the small seventh year, had made him lose some of his brian cells. Now THAT sounded good.

Jack was bored, and a bit hungry. Time to raid the food trolley... 'I'll be back in a bit.' he said to nobody in particular, as he got up and left the compartment.

Well that didn't take long; Dominic automatically felt himself swell up with pride at the words, Congrats on becoming Head Boy. I am sure you will do well. Because even if Evolette McKenna or Willow Kovac didn't think so or didn't want to talk to him, it was still nice to see that others, like Chris Potter, supported him. That others were proud of him. "Thanks Chris. I sure do hope so," he nodded as the boy went on to explain his summer of reading school books?! EWW! Okay, so maybe even if Chris was proud of him, the boy was a bit dorky. Honestly, who read SCHOOL BOOKS on their summer vacation? Then again, he rarely read them period. "Oh. Well that sounds lovely. But you should know that Kaika is very determined. She won't relinquish easily." Especially not since this was their last term; none of the Hufflepuff Leaders would be giving easily this term. Oh that meant ... last train ride TO Hogwarts? Sniff. He wasn't supposed to think about that.
And then Chris asked that question in return. How was his summer? The fact that he sent Willow an extraordinarily long, sweet letter and she returned it with a single word? The fact that Willow now forbade him from speaking to her? What should he say? His summer wasn't anything superb except of course the letter from the Headmaster. "It was ... good." He settled on, as more people started to enter the compartment. Quote:

He thought about pulling out his drumsticks, but he knew that others tended to finding his constant drumming annoying, so he just sat quietly, thinking about the new term ahead. "Oh hey Jack," he said to the Ravenclaw Prefect, when he slipped in and sat quietly. Sure he didn't know the boy too well, but he seemed like a lovely lad. Quiet, but nice. Quote:

Now that most of the males were present - in went the females. And the first to arrived was the ordinarily sleek looking Rachel Rider. Except that she didn't look so sleek today. Nope; she looked like she had been bawling her eyes and Dominic wondered for an instant if she had heard about Willow COLDLY telling him to not speak to her again.
Nope. She couldn't have heard that, could she of? It was only the other day .... "Hey Rachel. How ..." but he paused mid-sentence because it was apparent how she was and maybe bringing it to her attention wouldn't be so great. SEE, Willow!! He can be THOUGHTFUL!
Ah, she too noticed his new badge. "Thanks." He beamed at her. Quote:

Before he could comment anymore [mentally] about how different Rachel's appearance was from the norm, the door opened again and the other half of Hufflepuff Prefects entered. She seemed nervous; much more so than when she had asked him to fetch the ink for her in Scribbulus. Sure it was understandable - this was her first true moment, the train ride - as a Hogwarts leader.
Giving her a small smile, he then turned and looked at who else just entered. Quote:

Another blond girl? Merlin, Hogwarts female Prefects were evidently changing. This one seemed just as nervous as Tammy Wood had been, except the difference was that Dominic didn't know who this one was.
Granted had it been but a few weeks prior, then he wouldn't have known Tammy either. Shame too since she was in his year AND house.
Oh, this girl, unlike Tammy, was talkative when she was nervous. Because hardly seconds after she entered, her mouth started moving at a hundreds miles a minute. Winnie. Gryffindor. Which meant, this Winnie from Gryffindor was the replacement to Anna Greingoth. Anna's successor. "Nope. We haven't met," Dominic finally spoke up. "Dominic Denton. Hufflepuff Seventh year and Head Boy." He finished following it up with a charming smile. Quote:

Of course, she was well aware that they were missing one Prefect. Her other half. The Slytherin Male. BUT. Apparently, her ego was big enough to take on both parts of this thing, and he was nowhere to be seen.
Her blue eyes turned to Denton, and she raised an eyebrow expectantly. Was he going to do his job now? She'd already done hers. She made the Head Girl/Head Boy team look pretty! Which, in her mind, she SO was. But then his smile was broken as he felt Evolette McKenna, who HAD noticed enter but chosen to ignore her presence for the first five minutes, place her eyes on him. Expecting HIM to run the meeting, because apparently she thought she was Queen of the world and didn't have to do anything. But just smile and wave. Oh such a sad presence she was to the position. At least Anna Greingoth wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty.
"Yes," he waved off her introduction as though he was the real important one of the duo, and stood up. Because he was. "And I am Dominic Denton. Your new Head Boy. For those of you returning as Prefects," he looked to Jack, Chris and Rachel. "Welcome back and I-we look forward to another exciting year at Hogwarts. For those of you new to the Prefect position," looking now towards Tammy, Winnie and regretfully Evolette. "Welcome and good luck. This term shall hopefully prove to be interesting - is it ever NOT at Hogwarts? and I look forward to sharing my last term at Hogwarts with each of you. Any questions, then don't hesitate to use me as a resource." Because of course, it was him, not Evolette McKenna, who had been Prefect the past two terms. "With that said, let us enjoy the rest of our journey to the place we call Hogwarts." Finishing with a charming smile of his own and then sat down again. Dominic Denton had spoken. Quote:

Once the door shut, he refocused his attention back on the rest of the people in the compartment. There was someone missing; where was the new Slytherin MALE prefect? And more importantly, who could it be? It wasn't like he was sent a list of all the new prefects.

Chris watched as Evolette stood up and introduced herself to them. He looked at her trying to sieze up what he could of her and wasn't sure how he felt about her just yet. She seemed a bit, what's the word? He looked around at some of the other people's reactions to the Head Girl's words and saw that some of the others seemed to feel the smae way. 'Would friendly, nice Chris have to step in sometime this term and keep the peace?' he wondered.
He looked back at Evolette and flashed a big grin that hid all other thoughts from her. Quote:

Tammy chuckled softly and smiled at Chris. Was it bad that she felt totally uncomfortable sitting in this compartment. People seemed too TALL! And they were sitting! Not fair.
"Im uhkay thanks. How was the rest of your summer?" She grinned as he put his thumb up and she nodded and mock clapped herself, before mouthing. "I did it!" In his direction and grinning once more. She and walking somewhere, went nowhere alongside. She either fell. Or just failed.
Chris smiled as Tammy settled in and did an excited little clap when he gave her the thumbs up. "Rest of my summer was good. Just really hung out at home and in Diagon Alley, you?" he asked leaning back in his chair some. Quote:

Chris was tall, and strapping, and looked rather like an AlphaMale. UberDude. Sort of like an American football player. Winnie smiled widely as Chris shook her hand, and marveled at his easygoing demeanor. How refreshing. He's rather like a puppy.
"Aww thanks Chris," she replied, calming a little. "Fun is good to have," she added, smoothing her robes absently. "You're rather like a puppy. To me. Because...you're so happy...seeming."
Chris watched as Winnie looked him up and down and then he gave her a playful wink and smiled. "A puppy eh? Well if you think so." he clapped her on the shoulder playfully and sat back down, making room for her on the bench seat.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Xavieria Bole Graduated | ♥ Touch Lass! | MOON OF MY LIFE | Lemon's Winner | Inside Kitty Evolette yawned again. Well that was fun.
Not really.
She was sure that these people had been expecting an Anna Griengoth copy Head Girl, and it was obvious that they did not know what to make of her, but Evolette McKenna did not care. Her head of House must have known what kind of person she was, and still, she had been chosen for Head Girl. Which meant SHE was the best person for the job. Therefore, everyone in that compartment was going to have to get used to it.
"Well that was lovely." Snort.
She stood up, after Dominic had finished his little speech and everyone seemed to be content with just sitting there and talking to each other. SHE, on the other hand, had better things she could be doing. "See you all...." she trailed off and waved a hand. "Whenever." Yep. She was out of there, leaving them all to.....probably pray for the return of Anna. |

Her mouth opened in a round O, her brows raised slightly, as she listened to Dominic's little speech. Did he practice that?
"...Did you practice that?"
