And once again, you enter the dank, dark cave that is the Hogwarts potions classroom... but something has changed. Unlike the environment of the previous class, which was characterized by a clash of noxious odors, this time the classroom is filled with...
THE BEST. SMELLS. EVER.
Though the room is still cast in the typical gloom from the flickering candle wall sconces, unlike during the last class this time the air smells sweet, with notes of chocolate, vanilla, fresh coffee, light florals and fresh breezes, newly cut grass... A thousand lovely scents all harmoniously combining to create a symphony of sweet smells. Small flames are burning under a series of cauldrons simmering at the back of the room, and there are the typical rows of workstations with two stools at each station.
A thousand and three jars, canisters, and containers of potions ingredients line the shelves along the walls, gleaming dully in the low light. Each is labelled in the Professor's shaky old man's script, and at the back of the room are shelves groaning under the weight of huge potions encyclopedias and texts.
At the front of the classroom, a large charmed chalkboard stands. On it are written these simple instructions:
Quote:
POTIONS CLASS: LOVE POTIONS
Please be seated. The professor will be here momentarily. Be certain that you have all your potions equipment with you; failure to do so may cost your House points. If you are an older student who is familiar with Potions you may set up your workstation. I expect my younger students are now able to set up their workstations as well; if you need help, please ask an older student.
You may talk quietly amongst yourselves, but please keep the conversation to a reasonable level out of respect for your classmates. Thank you.
--Professor Kazimeriz
Class Synopsis:
The class began with a discussion on Love Potions- the theory behind them and their classification.
Then, the students discussed probable ingredients in love potions based on their knowledge of potion ingredients; this lead to the lab assignment, in which the students were to partner with a person of the opposite gender and brew a basic Class XX love potion.
The students received instruction on how to remove infused oils from their pre-treated lovage seeds, and were instructed to work in pairs to complete this task.
Next, the students were instructed to add a single drop of swan blood to the potion, bottled a draught, and sample each other's work. Ah... Love!
Everyone else was already drinking their potions and being all crazy and here they were.... still trying to get a few drops of the lovage seed. They were slllooooowww.
Livvy watched Samson with wide eyes as he caught the extract of the seed and dropped into their own cauldron this time. She breathed out a sigh of relief and shook her head. It was about TIME that they finished that part. She listened to Samson as he presented his idea and Livvy nodded her head. "Good idea," she said and reached over once more to peel the coat of the seed, gently but quickly this time. She then quickly picked up the pin and poked the hilium. "Alright..."
Samson looked at Livvy with narrowed eyes and a wide grin slash smirk. YAY they got one! Um. Yeah.
And he was thankful for Livvy acknowledged his good idea. It wasn't every day someone thought he was intelligent. Every other girl he talked to thought his ideas were somewhat insane, except when that person herself was insane. Okay, anyway.
As soon as Livvy poked the hilium, he quickly placed the extract in the cauldron. WOO. That was done and done. He then looked at Livvy blankly. "What's next?"

What? What happened to Josh? Turning, Evelyn found him on the ground with Destiny next to him. "What happened? What did you do?" The little incident that happened to her was pushed back into her mind and she stumbled over to Josh, dropping onto her knees and bending over him. "Are you okay? Josh?" Ugh, her eyes hurt like crazy!

Whoa. Why was Josh on the ground? He hadn't been petrified like herself. So maybe he was cured, or in the process and it had given him a headache? She wanted to ask him what was wrong, but thanks to Evelyn, that was impossible. Where was the professor? Why didn't he help her? I mean, even if catfights were part of the lesson, this was a bit out of control. She had heard that Carter and Mina and some Slytherin girl were cured, so maybe they could help her. But she was most likely going to wait this out.

Destiny bent down next to Josh, who was only tired. He didn't hit his head too hard, did he? 'Great. I made him cry now he has a concussion.' This was worse than the last potions class. But at least Evelyn didn't give her a blackeye this time. And if she did give her one, Destiny had a feeling it wasn't going to be caused by a book this time..
'Do you think the potion is wearing off?' Destiny gave Evelyn a quick glance, but she didn't want to look at her too long, it would give Evelyn a perfect opportunity punch her in the eye. So instead Destiny would just stare at Keeley, who was probably normal by now and could come out of her body-bind, but a few more minutes wouldn't hurt.

Mhm. What was next? Another lovage seed? "One more!" she said, as she handed another lovage seed to Samson. Once he had gotten a hold of it, Livvy reached over to peel the outer coating of the seed. Once the seed was exposed, Livvy picked up the pin and poked the hilium once more, and watched Samson to see him catch it.
OKAY. They needed to speed up the process. "Okay, I'm going to stir up the potion and boil it. Get the other ingredients ready," Livvy said, in a rushed tone as she picked up the ingredients list and shoved it in Samson's face. Not rudely of course. 'Course not. Whisssstle.
SPOILER!!: Instructions

Purified water, 4 ounces
Fluxweed, two bunches- finely crushed
Lovage pollen - 2 drams
3 lovage seeds, whole
Bloodroot, 3 roots- split lengthwise, scrape inner membrane out
Apple cider, 8 ounces
Lionfish heart, minced
Griffin dandruff, 1 dram
Warm water until just before boiling.
Crush fluxweed with mortar and pestle, add to water. Allow to come to a brisk boil.
Add lovage pollen, stir until dissolved.
Potion should take on a light golden colour.
Stir slowly, alternating clockwise and counterclockwise stirs
bring potion back up to a boil and allow to simmer 5 minutes
Add inner membrane ONLY of bloodroots; do NOT include the tough outer membrane of the root!!!
Add apple cider and lionfish heart; potion should take on an iridescent sheen and a light pink to purple cast
Add griffin dandruff and simmer until your potion takes on a deep pink to red sheen.
DO NOT GO FORWARD, wait for further instructions.
Livvy picked up the stirring stick and placed it in the cauldron as she began stirring. She peered at it, waiting for the pollen of the lovage seeds to dissolve. They were FINALLY getting somewhere. As the potion took on a light-ish golden-ish yellow-ish... whatever color, Livvy stirred the potion slowly clockwise at first. Every now and then she switched it to counterclockwise... then back.
The Ravenclaw returned to look at the fire and poked her wand gently at the fire and turned it around to turn up the heat. Livvy waited for the potion to boil and then turned to look at Samson expectedly.

He levitated a basket filled with small clear tubes with corks down the aisles. Inside the tubes was a measure of clear liquid. "I ask that each of you take a phial of potion from the basket. Drink it only if you have taken a love potion. Those of you who have not yet had the opportunity to use your potion may stay after class if you still wish to sample your results, and may take this antidote after you have done so." Kazimeriz smirked a little. "Be warned, the antidote is very, very bitter... For the loss of love, even manufactured love, is always a bitter, even painful experience."
He began to pace a little as he spoke. "From the grumbling I have heard, I suspect that many of you are displeased with this little... opportunity... I have provided to experience love potion first hand. I want you all to understand why this opportunity was provided to you. Love potion is, without a doubt, among the most dangerous of potions-- as you have experienced today, it robs you of reason and causes impetuous, reckless behavior, even causing some to be moved to dueling... and often, dueling to the death is not unheard of over that most dangerous of emotions, love."
"In spite of the dangers of love potion, it is an uncontrolled potion -- easy to obtain and simple to administer. Witches and wizards who have not personally gone through the pain and suffering that manufactured love brings often unblinkingly will use this potion on the unsuspecting object of their affection, and the result is rarely good. It is liquid betrayal and ends up hurting both the administrator and the consumer most times it is used, and so I caution you to think before you reach for it in pursuit of your true love."
"So, if it is so dangerous, why did I ask my class to take it? I prefer that my students be exposed to this potion in a controlled classroom setting, with a partner they are not already emotionally invested in, so you can feel the effects first hand -- and will be moved never to use it. I hope you will also learn to be vigilant -- wizards and witches alike -- in any setting in which someone might slip a love potion into your food or drink, and most of all to recognize the symptoms of a love potion's influence. Most of you probably experienced a strong surge of emotion that seemed without rational basis, and you may have also noticed a vague, momentary tingling sensation and a bit of warmth in your cheeks. You may have ascribed these feelings to being close to the object of your affection. Be alert! When these symptoms appear and you seem to have an unnatural , obsessive interest in someone who historically has not been interesting to you romantically, you may be the victim of love potion."
Kazimeriz continued pacing. "For those of you who have now experienced this insidious potion first hand... Knowing how it feels to consume love potion, would you ever use it on a love, a friend or a foe? Why or why not? When is its use acceptable to you? It is a complex ethical question, and I would like to hear your opinions on the matter."

Anyways... "Good..." she mumbled, still with her arms across her chest. No, the sniffing was not because tears had threatened to flood out, it was because there were funky smells in this room now. Ew. Though...WHAT IS THAT SCENT!?"Yeah..." Miranda nodded, still a little grumpy at the Keeper thing. She relaxed her face and continued. "I slapped Torin on the face...It had to be done." Her expression was totally serious, and she was. Miranda thought it was like helping out a fellow teammate from making complete fool of themselves. Shrugging like it was no biggie, she quickly changed conversation topic...sort of.
"Allrighty..." Miranda waited for Dominic to be ready with the peeling already, and began to humm a tune about the chocolate frog who found it's mother in a cave. "Ready? Okay." And with the outmost elegance, hah not really, Miranda sort of missed the spot where she had to pierece the seed and scraped the site of it almost poking Dominic's hand with it. "Oohhh sorryyy!" she grimaced. "Wait hold on, I got this..." scrunching up her brow and with her tounge between the side of her lips, she had to momentarily hold the Head Boy's hand with her other to keep it steady. Not that his hand needed that, it was Miranda who was a bit shaky from the fit of 'rage'. "There!" she grinned, "All done!"
Ah good, changing the topic back away from keeping was good for Miranda; she seemed to relax just a bit. He'd bring it up to her maybe later ... you know, right before the first session of the championship when he falls temporarily ill due to NEWT exam studying ... cue cunning smile.
Slapped Torin on the face? What was she talking about? Shaking it off, Dominic instead tried to focus instead on the lovage seed... Holding it out for Miranda to pierce and get the final drop of oil. But the last thing he expected was for Miranda to MISS where she was going to pierce, grazing the skin just a bit ... "Mirandaaaaa!!!" the seventh year exclaimed, eyes popping open, even wider as she continued to pursue her goal. It then all happened SO quickly, that the seventeen year old barely had time to process what was happening. Once second she was grimacing... then she was concentrating ... and then ... he felt a small hand wrap its tiny, but strong fingers around his, more to stop the shaking from what Dominic could tell... and all thoughts of potions and lovage seed oil dissipated... Even the voice of Kazimeriz telling the boys to not object to taking any love potion offered by the girls... All gone... Except for Miranda BelCanto was the only thing right now in the present.
For now... Until There ... and All done seemed to have woken Dominic from his reverie enough to realize there was the single drop of oil waiting to be added ... and that his good hand was still held by Miranda. And so, doing the only thing he could do, Dominic raised his left hand and used that hand to add the third and final drop of oil... Followed by a stirring of the potion, wondering if he could use magic to stir it vigorously, but deciding against it.. All the while, speechless and unable to remove his gaze from the fourth year as he simultaneously watched the potion for it to reach the consistency of maple syrup.
"Almost done," he finally said, softly, as his left arm was beginning to grow tired (from one being considerably weaker than his right and two, just from the vigorous stirring).

"Sleep? Why do you want to sleep?" That made no sense to her. Was it normal to want to sleep after being influenced with a love potion? Was their something wrong with their potion. Not expecting an answer back though, Evelyn looked up to Destiny when she asked about it. Hmm...Destiny... she would definitely have to have a talk with her later.
Keeping the scowl off of her face though, she was just about to answer her back when the Professor started to speak again. Of course love potions were easy to obtain, and especially easy for Evelyn to get them. Just ask any of her tutors. In fact... glancing up to the potion on their table, she watched the Professor out of the corner of her eye, passing around little phials of potion to the people who drank the love potion. When he came around to them, she took one and looked down to Josh. How in the world was she going to give it to him when he was sleeping?
Okay, so she was going to wait for a little while, until class ended, to give it to him. He looked too cute sleeping to wake him up. Hearing another discussion question coming up, she thought about the use of love potions. Never on friends or loved ones, but mostly on enemies. "Couldn't you use it for like, a distraction or something? Say like, you were kidnapped, you could use it on whoever took you and possibly escape because then they would do anything for you, right?"'Or you could use it to get tutors fired.' she continued in her mind.

The professor's lecture had been great, but Keeley wanted to be able to move. Now! She still had no idea of what she had been doing while she was under the influence of the potion, but the affects were long gone. Sure, the professor had stopped future curses, but he hadn't noticed her, frozen on the floor. With a killer headache and a bruise. If only she could move her eyes, just to make eye contact with someone. Well, once everyone had gotten the cure, hopefully one would notice her and fix her.

Cela took a vial of antidote and drank it down. It was super bitter but when the conflicting and dopey ugh feeling went away, she was relieved and she smiled over at Copernicus.
As for the question, Celandine stayed noticeably quiet. She'd never use it but she was pretty sure she'd never ever need to. She peeked at Copernicus again.
Nope. She was happier with the real thing.

Marilyn didn't even look in Carter's direction as he asked her the question. "Im fine, please just stay away..." She needed to get her thoughts together and calm herself down. What was she feeling? Confusion...Yes, she could understand that...but sadness and distress...it made no sense. Was it because she had already liked Carter before this potions business? She'd thought he was attractive, yes...And fun to be around. But did she like him like that? What a wonderful question...
When she heard the professor tell them to retrieve the proper antidote, Marilyn rushed towards the basket. She didn't like the way her emotions were all over the place. Not to mention the way her body was trembling like she was experiencing withdraws.
"Professor, before this lesson even happened, I considered Love Potions a form of drinkable dark arts. The use of them by anyone is despicable and desperate. Id never put anyone through this embarrassment." Well, maybe someone who really upset me...but that's another story."

Carter grabbed a potion for himself and Marilyn. Even though the effects seemed to wear off, he wanted to be certain. On his way back he nearly fell on Keeley. He unfroze her. "Are you okay?" he asked.

Hmmm, it was all so very different WATCHING how a potion was made than actually making one yourself. Somehow, Miranda found it quite entertaining as Dominic added the little droplets and such to the cauldron. She had sort of not paid much attention to the Head Boys little exclamation and was now smiling at how awesome this had little teamwork had been going.
Sure, she had almost made a hole in Dominics hand, but that was something minor...
They were great during a match and were great making a potion. Yay! This was one of the things she would definitely miss. Thinking about that was what had her complete forget that she still held his hand and oblivious to the fact that he was looking at her.
But, she frowned slightly, wondering why Dominc was stirring the cauldron so weirdly...it looked like he had trouble with it. And with his left hand? "Um...aren't you a righty-" Hold on. Oh, his arm isn't HEALED YET!? Ready to throw another fit, she looked down, finding that she was about to clench her fist...around something. Wait... She was still holding onto Dominics hand. Realising this, she let go of it quickly and giggled nervously. "Sorryyy...hahaaaaa..." Blushing, she glanced up at Dominic, but soon adverted her eyes to watch people around the room.
And then she heard him speak, softly. And even though it was rather loud and noisy in the classroom, Miranda heard his voice perfectly. Turning back to him, she smiled. "Great."Uhm..."Do you have a...uh...bottle thingy?" What were those called again? Nevermind. "I can help you pour..."
Oh my, she adored him too! The words felt... so right. "Yes," Fyo said, in something of a daze. "We should hug. We really should."
He placed his arms round her waist, and pulled her a little close to him. Far, far off, he saw Professor Kazi!Man - realized that this was a lesson, not some cosy spot in the grounds. But the Potions Master did not seem to mind, and so Fyo continued to hug Lucy, then twirled her round again.
"When the moon hits your eye,
Like a big-a pizza pie,
That's amore!
Bells'll ring,
Ting-a-ling-a-ling!
Ting-a-ling-a-ling!
And you'll sing "Vita bella,"
Hearts'll play,
Tippi-tippi-tay!
Tippi-tippi-tay!
Like a gay tarantella!"
Such a perfect song for such a perfect occasion. Fyo grinned a very handsome grin, and half-spun Lucy.
Lucy grinned as he starting singing again; she swayed to his voice with him. This was how it was meant to be. Then, as he spun her, she giggled loudly, and as she landed back in his arms, she tightened her arms around him.
"Oh, Fyo, that was just lovely!!" Lucy said.
And then she heard the professor's voice distantly, as if he was talking miles away. It made her confused because he was talking about some kind of potion...what potion? Lucy creased her forehead as she looked at her surroundings. It was complete chaos; people were all over the place, and the room looked a mess. But she couldn't quite grasp what was going on, though. Lucy gazed up at Fyo and tried to forget what was going on because her brain hurt. And then she realized that she was hugging Fyo...how awkward! Why was she hugging him??!! She barely even knew him!!
Lucy's brain was frazzled as she tried to think. Potions...potions...Potions...
She saw that the professor was handing out vials of...potion? Not really knowing what it was (perhaps thinking it would help her with the Fyo situation), Lucy took the potion and gulped it down. It was extremely bitter, and she almost gagged. And when she finally opened her eyes to the situation before her, her memory came flooding back. There was Fyo, holding her...she immediately let go of him, and sat down in her chair, deeply embarrassed, her face the color of a ripe tomato. Oh, the shame of it all!

Upon hearing Professor Kazimeriz's vocie, Mina turned her attention from her compact to the professor. NOW, he gives us a antidote?!?! This whole lesson was becoming an epic fail for her more and more. Setting down both her compact and handkerchief, she grabbed a phial as it passed and took it. She was pretty sure she could fight any lasting effects from the potion, but it was best to be safe than sorry. It was very bitter, but it did match the whole experience to a t as well.
Some controlled classroom, I'm still bleeding! She kind of understood the reasoning for taking the potions in class, but it didn't lessen the impact that was made. Why had she truly acted in the manner she did? She wasn't emotionally invested in Carter, was she? Silly girl, you know you have harbored a tiny crush on the boy since she lent you his scarf at the first Quidditch match. She didn't want to think about it. It was all because of the potion and nothing else. She was going to keep telling herself that, even if she didn't believe it herself.
Hearing the question posed, Mina tilted her head in thought and bit her lip. Raising her hand, she tried to voice what she thought. She was a bit confused still, after all. "Before, maybe I would have played with the thought of giving it to a foe, but after experiencing the effects myself. I would say that I wouldn't subject any other person to that without their knowledge. It would be a different situation if the parties were in agreement to take it. Like for example, if two people are betrothed to each other against their wishes, it would be better to have both take a potion so that they would at least have some form of love in their marriage. Maybe it all depends on the circumstances."
Tibi smiled contentedly as Kazi walked around the room. Why would he want to not feel like this? He felt really good sitting here with Emily and he thought she did too... until she took a drink and pulled away.
Frowning and hurt, Tibi took an antidote as well, and swigging it down returned to his senses. Eyes wide, he stared at Emily, and then at Kazi and then at his hand.
He'd. held. her. hand.
Ew. ew ew ew ew.
He was too distraught to even think about answering Kazi's question.

Dominic looked from Miranda and his near-finished manufactured love, when Kazimeriz seemed to be speaking again about the potion and on love. Stupid subject, he thought quickly, biting lightly on his lower lip as he listened to what the old man had to say. Because despite many previous animosities towards the ancient man, Dominic did learn one thing in his time here at Hogwarts: Kazimeriz actually knew A LOT and wanted to share it, if you would just give him the chance to listen.
Sample his potion after class? No, he didn't particularly fancy trying manufactured love. Nor the real thing. Because even faux love hurt; even if it wasn't really love and just infatuation, because really Dominic still had no idea what it was that he felt over the Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain, then it still hurt to see her expression ... her forest green eyes ... to tell him to have a nice life. And truthfully, Dominic never wanted to see hurt like that again. Especially not in the eyes of someone he thought he cared about. Gulping quietly, he looked back at Miranda again. So innocent ... so pure ... so untouched by the dangers of human emotion... wasn't she?
Dominic paused in his thoughts as he glanced away from the fourth year, up at the Potions Master, who concluded with a question. He didn't experience the potion, so he couldn't answer... At least not the first part of the question. "Love potions, like you said, are dangerous... But so is love, so I don't think it is ever acceptable to use it on ANYONE. Not even for revenge. Because it messes with matters of the heart, which can create wounds that are difficult to heal. Sometimes though, you only ever can over a broken heart though, when you've found someone else who is of equal or more significance." The seventh year spoke after raising his hand; because it was then that Head Boy had spoken.

The Head Boy had spoken, and even as he'd said the last few words, somehow his golden eyes felt pulled towards one object... One person, to be precise, which in the smallest of hints, Dominic smiled, without even truly realizing it.
And then Miranda seemed to notice their hands, apologizing and letting go of his, to which Dominic blinked at this sudden change. "No. Don't apologize... It's... okay..." He gave her a small smile again, as he reached for her hand again. Was it wrong? Maybe... But truthfully, he didn't care because he did only have a few short weeks left of this.
"It's not done yet. It needs that Swan blood or something, which we'll need to get to finish my potion up after class." Because the class was continuing now, yes?

Delana mindlessly took a tube from the basket... The effects of the love potion wore off and she fell back down onto a chair... "Ohh... my head." Clutching her head in her hands she tried to block out the class. It felt as if it might explode.
She could only vaguely hear or understand the Professor's question..
Delana lifted her head for a second... Ugh, light...
"I stand by my previous opinion, Professor." Not much of an answer, she knew, but she could hardly form a coherent sentence, much less actually think. She went back to the job of keeping her head intact, feeling as if she would go unconscious at any moment. ... though, that probably wouldn't be a bad thing.
dominic looked from miranda and his near-finished manufactured love, when kazimeriz seemed to be speaking again about the potion and on love. stupid subject, he thought quickly, biting lightly on his lower lip as he listened to what the old man had to say. "Hmmm?" Miranda looked up at Dominic after being lost in the land of searching for that bottle. She thought he had said something to her, but soon noticed he was actually answering a question. A question? Oh, she had totally missed the Professors...eh, question. Biting her lip, she looked down, hoping he hadn't notice the embarrassement. Well, he was indeed on the right track. Love potions were not only dangerous but STUPID. She still couldn't believe the things people were doing around her. Bleeeeh.
It did get her total attention when Dominic seemed to be speaking...from the heart. And then it dawned on her that she had not really known what had happened with him and Willow, the meanie Ravvie (Raving if you asked her, she still didn't forget how Willow had broken her bracelet) Captain. Should she ask? A friend should be there for the ones she cared for. This must extra annoying for him, Miranda assumed they hadn't ended it well.
But now, he WAS talking to her, and looking up she saw Dominic smiling. Returning the smile big, it faltered slightly as she wondered if maybe he had remembered something about the captain. Well, no matter. Shrugging it off, she did however notice his slightly outstretched hand. It didn't register to her how unusual this was, he was her PIC and teammate and... She took his hand, sort of swinging it between them in a playful friend skipping about way. Because that's what they were, friends. Right? But then her eyes locked onto his and that persistent blushing came back. Or maybe it never left. Why was he looking at her that way? Momentarily, Miranda looked away, feeling rather unsure of herself.
Huh? Blood?
"Uhm..." she swallowed, looking up at Dominic again. "I can...go get it for you..." she said, still holding his hand, not moving, not looking away from him and with that weird feeling in her stomach.

STANDARD CLASS XX POTION BASE
STEP ONE:
Samson's blood seemed to rush through his veins as he felt the urgency to finish the potion. Talk about pressure. And even if Livvy was being quiet, he was certain she was trying to rush him as well. All eyes were on him. Theee prreeeessuuurrreeee! He quickly wiped an imaginary bead of sweat from his forehead. Meh.
He all but scramled to gather the remaining ingredients and started to dememberify (what a word) the bloodroot. EWW. For a guy, he sure was squeamish. He felt like he was cutting the veins of a person. Eugh. Well, that was 3 down. That wasn't so bad. That is, if he didn't want to scream in disgust right now. Okay. So being afraid of blood was not something a guy was allowed to admit. Meh.
Apple cider was easy enough. But, mincing lionfish hearts? Again with the bloody work. Bloody hell. BLOOD. GAH. With one eye closed, Samson proceeded to mince the heart with one eye partially closed. Finally, he dumped the ingredients in the cauldron. "Ugh, nasty," he murmured under his breath, then wiped his hands hastily on the side of his robe. Gross.
He looked at Livvy, a displeased look on his face, and then looked back at the cauldron. It was now beginning to change color, and as he sniffed, the scent changed as well. It smelled of strawberries and cream. And cinnamon. It smelled exactly like Issy. The sweetest of scents. Ahhh.
He was allowed to fall into temporary bliss, wasn't he?

The silence sounded so... loud to Livvy's ears. It was deafening. But she ignored it and she didn't even attempt to change that. The potion needed to be finished and drunken. The process couldn't be prolonged no longer and the professor was closing up class soon. Thank merlin he was allowing them to stay for a little bit longer.
She then took the inner membrane of the root from Samson's hands and dropped it gently into the cauldron. Livvy then watched Samson and his funny expression as he worked on the lionfish heart. Bleeehhh... poor lionfish. The look on the boy's face greatly amused her but ew.... ewwww... EWWWWW.... blood didn't scare her but she hated seeing it. Even though Livvy had seen blood enough during Quidditch, about 7/8 of it all being produced by Nigel Forbulus, she still despised the sight of it.
Livvy decided that she'd let Samson take care of the lionfish and drop it into the cauldron. SHE... began to gather up the griffin dandruff. BLEH. Who knew that griffins had dandruff. Once the apple cider and the lionfish heart were added into the potion, she peered into the cauldron and studied the color. Ooohhh... pweeetehh. It smelled nice too. "Noooow.... the griffin dandruff," Livvy said, sprinkling it into the cauldron. "I think we're pretty much done." She grinned at Samson at the last sentence. Excluding... the whole... drinking the potion thing.

Samson felt like a girl. At least Livvy wasn't being squeamish about anything. Hmph.
Well, at least he didn't care for the dandruff. Anything with hair was bound to have dandruff, and Griffins were definitely no exception. He even managed to chuckle at the sight. Ah well. "Who knew gross ingredients made up love potions," he said more to himself than to Livvy. And once he heard the word 'done', he had snapped out of his scent-trance and looked up at his partner. "We are?" he said, not knowing if he was supposed to feel dread or excitement. He looked around the room and shrugged uneasily. "Ummm. You wanna. Try it out?" He suggested first, before she got the chance to ask him so. He would not do it. Absolutely not.

Meh.
Seriously. Livvy chuckled and just shook her head. "Who comes up with these recipes?" she asked, sighing as she stared at the cauldron and poked her wand gently at the fire, bringing it to a simmer. Livvy had a feeling that she was forgetting something. But what was she forgetting? BLEH. Professor Kaziwhatever had told them something earlier but she hadn't really been paying attention to what his words were.
"OHWAIT. I think we're forgetting something. OH! OH!" Without another word, Livvy stood up from her seat abruptly and made her way towards the potion cupboard. Of course. Of course. She was soooooooo stupid. Livvy opened up the cupboard and retrieved a phial of the swan blood. Seriously. What was up with all this gross stuff?
BLEH. Livvy made her way back to their workstation and she held up the phial. "Swan blood. Joyful, ain't it?" she said rather sarcastically as she took off the cork. She slowly and gently tipped the phial and watched as a single drop of the swan blood fell into the cauldron. Mhmmm... so close to finishing.
Livvy held onto the stirring stick once more and stirred the potion until the swan blood was well blended into the rest of the potion. "NOW, we're done. Phew. Finally."
