And once again, you enter the dank, dark cave that is the Hogwarts potions classroom... but something has changed. Unlike the environment of the previous class, which was characterized by a clash of noxious odors, this time the classroom is filled with...

THE BEST. SMELLS. EVER.

Though the room is still cast in the typical gloom from the flickering candle wall sconces, unlike during the last class this time the air smells sweet, with notes of chocolate, vanilla, fresh coffee, light florals and fresh breezes, newly cut grass... A thousand lovely scents all harmoniously combining to create a symphony of sweet smells. Small flames are burning under a series of cauldrons simmering at the back of the room, and there are the typical rows of workstations with two stools at each station.

A thousand and three jars, canisters, and containers of potions ingredients line the shelves along the walls, gleaming dully in the low light. Each is labelled in the Professor's shaky old man's script, and at the back of the room are shelves groaning under the weight of huge potions encyclopedias and texts.

At the front of the classroom, a large charmed chalkboard stands. On it are written these simple instructions:

POTIONS CLASS: LOVE POTIONS

Please be seated. The professor will be here momentarily. Be certain that you have all your potions equipment with you; failure to do so may cost your House points. If you are an older student who is familiar with Potions you may set up your workstation. I expect my younger students are now able to set up their workstations as well; if you need help, please ask an older student.

You may talk quietly amongst yourselves, but please keep the conversation to a reasonable level out of respect for your classmates. Thank you.

Class Synopsis:

The class began with a discussion on Love Potions- the theory behind them and their classification.

Then, the students discussed probable ingredients in love potions based on their knowledge of potion ingredients; this lead to the lab assignment, in which the students were to partner with a person of the opposite gender and brew a basic Class XX love potion.

The students received instruction on how to remove infused oils from their pre-treated lovage seeds, and were instructed to work in pairs to complete this task.

Next, the students were instructed to add a single drop of swan blood to the potion, bottled a draught, and sample each other's work. Ah... Love!

"Oops, sorry." she smiled slightly up at him and then turned back to Keeley. "Soo, Keeley. What's up?"

Her smile though suddenly turned into a serious expression when she turned to him instead. "Do you want to drink it?" Wasn't he like scared of the stuff before? Hmm...maybe the smell of it was getting to him. 'In fact, it's getting to me! Maybe I should try it...NO! No can't do that.'

Like if a swan was injured, and someone helped it, but there was still some blood lying around from earlier. So they just...reused it. Yes, that had to be it. Swans where so pretty- and so where unicorns. Nobody was cruel enough to murder them; Wesley was positive.

Still trying to wrap her mind around the first concept, she hadn't even moved onto the whole experimenting part before she noticed their love potion was beginning to bubble. The new color had completely set in.

It was very enchanting. She stared at it, almost lovingly. The potion would soon be finished.

After getting the potion back down to a simmer like Kazimeriz had instructed, Tibi made his way over to the cabinet for their drop of swan blood. Tibi shivered. They were going to put blood in something they were going to DRINK. Ew.

Settling back into his seat and dropping the blood in, Tibi took the spoon and stirred thoroughly, until he was satisfied that it was completely mixed.

Pausing, Tibi looked to Wesley tentatively before spooning out a portion into a phial. He would be giving this to someone soon. And then that person would love him.

Gulp.

Raising the phial to her lips, she allowed it to run down her throat. Sitting back on her stool, she waited to see what happen.

He turned in his stool and leaned his head on his hand with his elbow resting on his desk. "Isn't Mina smart... and pretty..." he said in a daze.

Wait. Marilyn is the prettiest girl he knows.

She didn't know what she'd do if anything happened to...Upon hearing her boyfriend commenting on Mina being smart and pretty, her train of thought halted abruptly. Her happiness was immediately replaced with hurt and anger, making her beautiful green eyes water.

I thought he said I was the prettiest girl he knew? She backed away from him cautiously, clearly beyond upset that he'd made such a statement about a girl that wasn't her. "Carter...I thought you loved me..."

Mina fought the urge to look back in the general direction of Carter and Marilyn. She was feeling very strange and the little voice inside her was telling her it was best she didn't look over there.

Feeling some glaring at her, she looked up to see Marilyn sending her death glares. It's not my fault Kazi is crazy and made us do this! She didn't even want to take the stupid potion, but she was the typical stubborn 'claw and HAD to do the work and all that jazz.

Returning her eyes back to the table in front of her, she caught the smallest glimpse of Carter. Feeling her heart swoon just at the sight of him, she sighed happily. Isn't he so dreamy? I always thought he had the prettiest eyes.

Wait! What am I thinking? He's a friend. I shouldn't be having these thoughts.' she scolded herself. She was going to be stronger than this silly potion. Focusing at the room in front of her and fighting every urge in her body, she held her resolve. She wasn't going to look at him, she wasn't going to be that girl. No, she wasn't going to turn into a carbon copy of her sister, Odetta.

The tingling running through her body and the feeling of her heart swooning at the thought of him, we slowly working her down. She wasn't going to give in.

She knew this was going to end badly, but silly girl still took the potion. When was she ever going to learn!

MOST beautiful girl he's ever met? Hmm. Reese Upstead might can just get use to Torin Kane under love potion. She kind of liked the complements - that was until they started getting creepy. "No, you haven't told me that," she replied with a smile. "It's nice to know you think I'm pretty, though. Wait...huh? My hair reminds you of chocolate frogs. Ooooookay." Moving on...

Now, like right now, it was getting a little creepy. The complements were all fine and dandy, but when you start hearing Torin say 'I love you', it's kind of scary. She knew it was the love potion talking, but it was still very creepy. "Torin," she said with a few nervous giggles here and there. "You're charming and all with the complements and the...yeah, I don't like you like that." She shook her head. Professor Kazi never said that she had to play along with this loving thing, did he? Nope, she didn't think so. So, as bad as it seemed, she was going to have to reject Torin.

Mina rested her head on her workstation and covered her ears. She could hear Carter and Marilyn and couldn't bear it any more. She wasn't a boyfriend stealer. She just wasn't. Stupid potion! Why couldn't she have just found another boy's potion to drink.

You did this to yourself, silly girl. The Dubois blood in you makes you capable of being like this. Being just like Odetta, use your natural beauty to get what you want. Her inner voice ~~demons~~ were at it again. She was different, she wouldn't give in.

'Do shut up! I'm not her!' she scolded the voice firmly. This lesson and this potion's effects would end and things would be back to normal. She just had to wait it out. Breathing through her mouth and not her nose, she focused on her feet. Mustn't look in his general direction. Mustn't breath in the delisious smells that remind me of him....

It was getting harder to fight the urge to just look up at him again, but she keep her hands firmly over her ears and her head on the table. She wasn't going to give in, she wasn't going to crack under the pressure of the feelings swimming inside her. One part of her was yearning to look at him and allow herself to swoon, but the other part of her was just as stubborn to fight against it.

Why didn't I just go to Beauxbatons? I wouldn't have these problems there!

He listened to her words but didn't really take them in. She was just playing hard to get. He knew that she really really liked him. That she felt the same way that he did.

"Come on, Reese. I can give you so much. We could live together in a castle. I can get you a Unicorn."

He moved towards her slowly. He wanted to kiss Reese again..

Destiny decided not to finish her potion. She put the lid on her cauldron and sat back and just watched all the love action going on. No way she was going to act like that. 'Grossss!' Marilyn and the Gryffindor boy were making her laugh, Dancing and declaring their love for one another, until a Ravenclaw showed up. Evelyn, Josh, and Keeley were finished their potion and Destiny couldn't help but chuckle when Keeley had googly eyes at Josh. 'Professsssor! What happens if they all start fighting?' That would be sooo bad.. yet, it would be quite a show.

Keeley smiled, "Just...you know...potions." Sighing dreamily, she kept on staring at Josh. He was just so brilliant. Plus, that annoying voice in the back of her head kept screaming at her to look away, but she couldn't. He was just too perfect.

Mina rested her head on her workstation and covered her ears. She could hear Carter and Marilyn and couldn't bear it any more. She wasn't a boyfriend stealer. She just wasn't. Stupid potion! Why couldn't she have just found another boy's potion to drink.

You did this to yourself, silly girl. The Dubois blood in you makes you capable of being like this. Being just like Odetta, use your natural beauty to get what you want. Her inner voice ~~demons~~ were at it again. She was different, she wouldn't give in.

'Do shut up! I'm not her!' she scolded the voice firmly. This lesson and this potion's effects would end and things would be back to normal. She just had to wait it out. Breathing through her mouth and not her nose, she focused on her feet. Mustn't look in his general direction. Mustn't breath in the delisious smells that remind me of him....

It was getting harder to fight the urge to just look up at him again, but she keep her hands firmly over her ears and her head on the table. She wasn't going to give in, she wasn't going to crack under the pressure of the feelings swimming inside her. One part of her was yearning to look at him and allow herself to swoon, but the other part of her was just as stubborn to fight against it.

Why didn't I just go to Beauxbatons? I wouldn't have these problems there!

"Oh please don't Marilyn." Carter begged. Mina was way too pretty to be ripped to shreds. "Nothing will happen, I promise." he pleaded looking over at Mina. He wanted something to happen. He wanted her to come over an talk to him. He was so torn though. What was a guy to do?

"It's your choice," he said, after a moment's thought. "I'm going to sample this and, well, if you want to, you can too. But I hope you realize what this means." Ah well, they were both in this together now. Hopefully, things wouldn't turn out that bad, and they would be back to normal, soon.

Marilyn turned her darkened eyes onto Carter and frowned. "I love you, Carter. I won't lose you...And im willing to physically and emotinally hurt anyone who tries to come between us." She moved her fingers towards his gorgeous face and touched the skin there. She'd quickly became obsessed with it before. But remembering the way he'd looked at her eariler brought a sad smile to her features..."I feels so...heartbroken." He was hers! All hers!! Just who did this Mina think she was, anyway? Marilyn would destroy her.

Carter brushed the back of his hand against Marilyn's cheek. "Don't worry. You won't lose me. I'm all yours." he said with truthfully all the love in the world. Now he wished Mina wouldn't come over. He would sacrifice seeing her for her safety.

"Weeellll, Fyo, I think...Ima gonna do this with you. Because I'm just nice like that," Lucy chuckled.

She then grabbed a vial of their potion and downed the entire thing. Mmmm it tasted yummy!! And then she felt kinda funny--as if her stomach was full of butterflies. And she looked up at Fyo--and noticed that he was absolutely GORGEOUS. And she wanted to really close to him. Like touching close.

"Oooh, Fyo," Lucy said with a hiccup,"You're cuuute!! *hiccup* Come here, you!" Lucy said as she beckoned a finger at him and gave him a crooked smile. He was oh-so-hot! She was seeing hearts, and all she could think about were his beautiul eyes and his prettyfull hair...she wanted to hug him right now.

Fyo smiled rather politely at her. "Thanks," he said. "That lends me a bit of... emotional support. I would have hated to ..." Act like a goofy clown? Eeep, he couldn't possibly say that out loud.

So, to cover up, he quickly grabbed a vial and -- and paused. It seemed like she had sampled the potion before him and, from the way she acted, it was clear it worked. "Um, no - I really can't," he said, eyes wide as she beckoned him and then, in a state of total confusion, he had drained the contents of the vial in one, big gulp. MAJORRRRRR MISTAAAAAKE!

He felt happy, happier than he had in days. Her eyes were pretty, unlike any he had ever seen before. Fyo grinned at her like a loony. "You're so pretty, Lucy," he gushed. "I love your hair!"
