And once again, you enter the dank, dark cave that is the Hogwarts potions classroom... but something has changed. Unlike the environment of the previous class, which was characterized by a clash of noxious odors, this time the classroom is filled with...
THE BEST. SMELLS. EVER.
Though the room is still cast in the typical gloom from the flickering candle wall sconces, unlike during the last class this time the air smells sweet, with notes of chocolate, vanilla, fresh coffee, light florals and fresh breezes, newly cut grass... A thousand lovely scents all harmoniously combining to create a symphony of sweet smells. Small flames are burning under a series of cauldrons simmering at the back of the room, and there are the typical rows of workstations with two stools at each station.
A thousand and three jars, canisters, and containers of potions ingredients line the shelves along the walls, gleaming dully in the low light. Each is labelled in the Professor's shaky old man's script, and at the back of the room are shelves groaning under the weight of huge potions encyclopedias and texts.
At the front of the classroom, a large charmed chalkboard stands. On it are written these simple instructions: Quote: POTIONS CLASS: LOVE POTIONS
Please be seated. The professor will be here momentarily. Be certain that you have all your potions equipment with you; failure to do so may cost your House points. If you are an older student who is familiar with Potions you may set up your workstation. I expect my younger students are now able to set up their workstations as well; if you need help, please ask an older student.
You may talk quietly amongst yourselves, but please keep the conversation to a reasonable level out of respect for your classmates. Thank you. --Professor Kazimeriz Class Synopsis:
The class began with a discussion on Love Potions- the theory behind them and their classification.
Then, the students discussed probable ingredients in love potions based on their knowledge of potion ingredients; this lead to the lab assignment, in which the students were to partner with a person of the opposite gender and brew a basic Class XX love potion.
The students received instruction on how to remove infused oils from their pre-treated lovage seeds, and were instructed to work in pairs to complete this task.
Next, the students were instructed to add a single drop of swan blood to the potion, bottled a draught, and sample each other's work. Ah... Love!

Evelyn was not so sure when coming to this class anymore. Last time, she was poisoned and the room had the most disgusting smell. Waiting outside the doorway to the room, she took a few deep breathes before she held it and walked inside, hoping to at least treasure the almost clean air outside of the room for a few more seconds.
Setting down her bag on a desk, not really taking note of the new things in the room, after a minute or so she had to take a new breathe. She was pleasantly surprised when she did. 'Wow, big change.' she thought almost dreamily. Glancing at the board, she read what it said. 'Love potions? Are those like...even legal in school?' Who cares though! She could sit here all day and just...breathe in the sweet scent of the room. Sitting on the stool, she quickly set up her station and then leaned on the desk with her head held up by her hands, and started to do just that. | |

This time around, Destiny was not looking forward to potions. If it was anything like the last class..
She walked into the classroom and was hit with good scents? Was she in the right classroom? Well of course she was! Love potions. That explained the scents.
She found a seat and sat down next to Evelyn. She rested her head on her arm as she set up her station. Why did she have this big cheesy smile on her face?

Rafe smelled a sweet alluring smell as he walked into the classroom. "This should be fun," he said to himself. And then he looked at the board! He was screaming inside.
"LOVE POTIONS!" Rafe wanted to dart on out of there, but he didn't want to skip out on the class. It was really ironic that they would be studying love potions considering he was under the influence of one just days ago.

Lucy walked into Potions, immediately realizing that something really good was being inhaled by her nose. A particulary seducing smell, one she could place right away...that rusty smell...whiskery face...roaring laugh...And then Lucy snapped back into reality. She really didn't want to be in class if they were studing something that had almost cost her her friendship with a certain someone.
As she looked around the room, she noticed someone familiar--who else but Rafe Lycaon, whom, she was sure, was just as uncomfortable as her about learning about love potions. He had been under the influence of a love potion just a few days ago, and Lucy was the culprit. Figuring that Rafe probabaly didn't want to talk to her, especially if they were learning about love potions, Lucy found a spot in the front of the room. He could approach her if he wanted, but she didn't think he would. And then she waited for class to start.

Kylie walked into potions, excited as she usually was. She sat down and began setting up her things quietly. She saw one of the Slytherins that had been so rude to her in DADA. She chose to continue quietly setting up her stuff. Not that every fiber of her being didn't want to whip out her wand and hex her into next week right then and there. But she knew she had a moral standard to live up to.. plus doing so would cost her house points. After this thought had passed, she realized the room smelled intoxicating. "Wonder what smells so.. fantastic." She remarked mostly to herself.

'Time for potions again? It seems like I just got out of here' Marie thought as she walked into the room. She really was not looking forward to this class since the last time she was here she had lost five points just because she didn't want to clean cauldrons. Not to mention the fact that the professor had poisoned everyone.
'Whoa, it smells so......good in here, this is different' she thought as she walked to an empty seat near the window. She quickly checked to make sure she had all her supplies.

Mina walked into the potions lesson and smiled. She was starting to really enjoy going down to the dungon and being in the potions lab. Looking around and seeing only a few students were there, she made her way toward the front. Spotting a free workstation, she made her way there noticing the difference in the smell of the room, compared to last lesson.
Mmmm, fresh parchment, spearmint, peppermint, freshly pulled espresso shots, fresh linens, and...wait, is that freshly cut grass I smell?
Setting her things beside the workstation, she looked up and noticed the writing on the chalkboard. Love potions...explains the delicious smells. She hadn't tried to brew love potions herself before, but she did see her siblings brew it or was it hate potions they were brewing, who really knew.
Shrugging at the thought, she started to set up her workstation. Double checking and seeing she did have all her supplies, she smiled. Good thing I got new Dragon Hide Gloves. Pulling out both her texts, Magical Drafts and Potions & Introduction to Potions, and her lab workbook, she placed them to the side and continues on setting up.

Daniel entered the Potions classroom and looked around. This is not the classroom i am accustomed to. he thought. Oh well, change is everything.
He looked around and reads the note on the board and made him smile. Love Potion. This will be a very good class.
Then he heard a first year hallucinating. Oh, man. A student greeted an invisible Professor. He chuckled to himself.
He then headed to an empty station and arranged his things and potions materials in it. Then as always, looks around to see if anybody is having trouble with their workstation.

Toying with her wand and wearing her usual snarly expression, Magenta made her way down the hall to her potions class. What day was it? This was the right class...right? Just before reaching the door, she stopped. What were those delightful smells? Was that her mothers cooking? Filled with exitement, she stepped inside and glanced around quickly. "Oh..love potions" she confirmed feeling a mixture of disappointment and happiness. She'd been hanging out for some honey cake lately. She made her way over to an empty table and began unloading, then setting up her equipment, smiling all the while.

Celandine breezed in to the potions lab and set up her things. Her trusty potions textbook under one arm. It wasn't that she'd started enjoying potions class, or assembling potions or anything, she was simply cheerful because she was finding it a little easier lately thanks to her notes. Cleaning cauldrons was pretty fun though, which probably made her a little crazy but oh well.
She adjusted her cauldron and made sure everything was arranged neatly and then she just sat there with a small smile. She knew what those smells meant now. Sandalwood, Caramel and book dust? Or, she sniffed, was that warm sand? That was a new one. The sweet smell of the caramel was fading out a bit and the warm sand smell was definitely growing stronger.
Oh!
Egypt!
Pleased by this, Celandine hugged her book to her chest and waited for class to start.

Her arms were full with her Potion's supplies as she made her way towards the classroom. Miranda wondered what they would do today and wrinkled her nose at the thought of another difficult session. Gah. Potions was NOT one of her favorite subjects, or one she was any good at. Might be why she disliked it.
But...as her feet carried her inside the dungeon classroom, a wave of different smells cleared all her thoughts. It smelled like broomsticks in here! Turning her head to look around, she pouted and realised there were no brooms here. But the smell was enticing! And also, CHOCOLATE! Did the professor have chocolate here? OR a CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!?
There was also a distinctive sort of...Perfume? No...More like a cologne...or fabric softener. Huh.
Miranda smelled her sleeve. Nope, it wasn't her mothers washing that smell came from. Shrugging, she subcounciously wondered where Dominic was, she hadn't seen him all day.
Arriving at her workstation, Miranda started to unpack her things and set up her...station. This would be an interesting class, Professor Kazimeriz was sneaky.

Nia wriggled her nose as she entered the potions classroom. There was something fundamentally wrong smelling, in the entire fact it was nice smelling. A plethora of smells, that reminded the blonde haired Ravenclaw of things. What those things were though, she couldnt place straight away. Were the smells meant to do that, giving off personal smells? A glance at the title on the blackboard gave her an answer. It should be an interesting lesson, she decided.
Slipping into her seat, Nia arranged her equipment carefully and precisely, before flicking through her textbook.

Smiling at Destiny as she sat down next to her, Evelyn waited to see if Josh would show up, and if he was, he was cutting it really close since class was about to start. Sighing, she was just about to say something to Destiny when she heard someone speak behind her. Turning, she smiled at the new Slytherin arrival who she finally learned Marylin was the girl's name. "Hello..."
And then she spotted the Hufflepuff girl that she tried to disarm in DADA. 'And today is on love potions...could be fun.' Evelyn thought, thinking up some plans to make the class even more exciting. This time, she was sure not to get caught...Smirking at the Hufflepuff, she gave the girl a little wave before turning and nudging Destiny. "Look who it is." she whispered quietly so Destiny was the only one who could hear.
