| | Lord Borr's Midday Lesson Lord Borr had been SO BUSY ALL DAY LONG! His day job never ended. Never. Always something to do, someone to mentor, a LIFE TO CHANGE! Today, he would be changing and molding the young minds of Hogwarts.
His classroom had been abused by slow Ethan, but no more! TODAY THIS ROOM WOULD ABSORB KNOWLEDGE LIKE IT HAD NOT SINCE THE LAST TIME LORD BORR HAD GRACED IT.
He knew he'd have to start with the basics. A good foundation. THE VERY BEGINNING. Hopefully there would be NO NEED to diaper the students of Hogwarts again. Even though he was not BELOW (he wasn't below ANYONE, ACTUALLY) such discipline in order to ENSURE ORDER. Lord Borr opened all the windows and let the sun SHINE into his classroom. His domain. His castle. "HURRY UP STUDENTS! I DON'T HAVE ALL DAY!!! AND YOU NEED EVERY SECOND YOU CAN GET WITH ME! COME IN. SIT DOWN. DON'T EMBARRASS YOURSELF." Lord Borr beat the door frame with his cane as he spoke each word clearly, decisively, and with ample amount of saliva spray. |

Sara was scared to death of her new Astronomy teacher. So, when he said run to the window, Sara ran to the window and didn't ask any questions.
Sara looked out the window, looked at the prof and then looked out the window again. "What did he want?" Sara wondered. She decidied to be as truthful as possible.
Raising her hand, Sara said, "Sir... I see an unlimited future...it goes as far as the eye can see...it is unlimited and ready to be explored.
Sara immediately sat back down. She hoped she hadn't gone to far, but when she looked at the sky, her mind exploded and to her everything seemed possible.

Ellie was petrified. She wished more than anything that this lesson would be over. She did not like Lord Borr, he was too scary for her liking, and she did run to the window and looked outside and wondered if she was meant to be seeing anything strange or out of the ordinary. "Um, I see...I see...se..see grass," Ellie said. "An...and the sky, bu....but there aren't any stars." Surely astronomy was all about looking at the planets and things? She was scared, and confused.

Lord Borr's tummy began to RUUMMMMBBLLLLEEE. He was quite hungry. Poor busy and important LORD Borr. Reese was slipping deeper and deeper into her seat with every word that came out of that big man's mouth. She didn't like the yelling. Not. One. Bit. Her brown eyes shifted over to Jack as he made his way out of the room, then she looked back at the big Professor dude. And, guess what? He was yelling again. Didn't he know the term 'inside voice'? Probably not.
He doesn't have time for dallying. Did this man have time for ANYTHING? He probably made time for eating, considering how fat the man was.
Not wanting to get yelled at, Reese quickly stood up from her seat and scurried over to the window where a little crowd was forming. She pushed her way through the people, so that she was able to see outside. "Nature," she simply replied. "I see nature."

Nikki's eyes widened as the man kept yelling. She put her head down, and walked quickly over to the windows with the others.
She glanced around the grounds, and raised her hand. "Professor, I see the sky, dotted with clouds, and some birds flying around. I can see Professor Morgans hut, and mountains in the distance. SOme people seem to be practicing Quidditch as well. A lot of students seem to be outside, enjoying the beautiful weather. The sun is shining rather brightly, and theres a breeze flowing through the trees of the Forbidden Forest."
Nikki was confused with what this had to do with astronomy, but she wasn't going to complain to Lord Borr. He was very adamant in his ways, and she didn't think he'd appreciate being questioned.
'Maybe they were going to study the sun, perhaps? Or how the lack of stars influence our lives?' She thought. She stayed at the window, wondering if there was anything else she could add to her answer, hoping to get some kind of brainwave into why they were doing this.

Fallon couldn't bear the Professor's yelling anymore. She used to love going to Astronomy, no matter how confusing it was, because Forrester's lessons were interesting. She quickly scurried over to the window and looked out it. Hope he doesn't expect us to see stars in the middle of the day.
"I see clouds and sunshine, sir." She said trying to keep the sarcasm out of her voice.
Fallon wasn't usually a sarcastic person, but certain Professors made her want to be. She was seriously considering just leaving the classroom.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Roman J. Lupin First Year | GLEEk Magic Picture Finder Oh, dear, this Professor seemed like, he like to be impressed, Rafe thought. Rafe rushed over to the window. What did he see outside? Maybe a Astronomy related answer is what he was looking for. "Well there's the Forbidden Forrest, filled with magical creatures, such as Centaurs who study the stars and planets to predict the future. Then there's..." Rafe was slightly distracted as he noticed something with black and horse-like that flew overhead, "Wow, and thestrals...anyways. There's also the sky and the sun, which according to some magical astrologers, like a Babylonian says in his Aphorisms, represent raise of prestige, praising of fraternity, amplitude of designs, authority over the powerful, humiliation of the sovereigns, splendor of lights and vanishing of darkness."
Rafe made a face. He didn't really knew if his answer made any sense. He was just trying to remember what little Astrological knowledge he knew. "Professor, sir, I'm sure your knowledge of what is out there would be much more exciting to hear! I'm afraid my little knowledge could never live up to the wisdom you have collected over the years." Rafe smiled. He certainly didn't want to be on this professor's bad side.

Abigail just shook her head; this guy was ridicules, what on earth made the head master higher him. Maybe he was all they could find on short notice.
She listened as he criticised half the class, and praised the ones that were sucking up to him. She was glad he hadn’t bothered commenting on her reply, and assumed that he was neither impressed nor disgusted by her answer.
Standing up she walked towards one of the windows as instructed and looked out at all though who were lucky enough not to be in this class. “Sir I see the Hogwarts grounds in the middle of the day. Students are walking around or doing homework...allthough I doubt any of them are doing Astronomy homework, as it's the middle of the day and they more than likely need to see the stars.” |

Kay wonder what the Professor really wanted. "Sir, How can we do Astronomy work with the sun up?" Kay said looking at the front of the room Hoping the professor would just over look her. "All I see is students moving about." She really wanted to learn about the stars and planets, but was sure the professor would yell at her now.

The respectable Professor seemed awfully displeased with everyone else ... but him. Oh, and some other boy .. but who cared? "Thank you, Sir." Sebastian offered the man another polite bow, before flicking his wand and levitating his desk up to the front of the classroom, steps proud and confident. He was better than any other student in here, he knew that ... but now everyone else would know that too. Just the way it should be.
Once he got there, he placed his desk on the right side of Lord Borr's and settled it down, before turning back to the old man. "It's an honour to meet someone like you, Sir." At last, finally someone who would, without a trace of doubt, teach him something useful. Quote:

Merlin. What was the smell? It wasn't exactly a bad smell it was just--intense and overpowering. It was cologne in more than a normal dose and it was flooding Daphne's nostrils. Glancing sideways she took the in the erect and poised appearance of that Whitcomb boy; Woodson's not so conversationalist brother.
Glancing from his slick hair to his clearly imported shoes, Daphne held back a derisive snort. She would approve--if he wasn't clearly gloating seconds ago.
Mouthing Sebastian's words to herself, she inched towards LouAnn.
It was best to start gathering allies in this class...just in case.

| Double Agent Stamps! Is the great Lord Borr crazy??? Go look out and tell him what we see outside! It's the middle of the day. How are we suppose to see stars in the sky in the middle of the day? Even an idiot knows you do star gazing at night. Abby skakes her head. This is sheer madness that what this is. Sheer madness!!! She pulls her portably telescope out of her book bag and finds an empty window. Abby looks up at the sky squinting when she looks directly at the sun. "Lord Borr, sir, I see the sun in the sky. It's at its brightest because it's high noon. Over to the west, I can see the moon over the lake. That's about it. It's too early for their to be any stars out, sir." Abby pretends to be looking for stars. When in doubt, do what the insane individual says to do at until the men in white coats carrying a straight jacket come and gets the idiot. Abby turns around and looks at Lord Borr out of the corner of her eye. Do straight jackets come in the XXXX extra large? |

Matheu ran to the window, following Lord Borr's order. He looked up and could barely see the moon seep out through the clouds. That was it, really. But he was too scared to admit it.

She was, however, surprised that he could see Thestrals. She'd only ever read about them, and while she was quite curious about them, she hoped never to see one. Ever. But back to the boy. She found the bit a Babylonian said interesting. Maybe he wasn't that much of a twit at all. At least he'd remembered the Centaurs, unlike her. She shrugged, and continued to look out onto the grounds, wishing she could be out in the sun instead of stuck in this room, especially when Lord Borr was bestowing upon her a major headache...

Delana stood up and walked to the window with all the other students... Some looked afraid, some angry, though she didn't know why, she rather liked her Professor so far... He wasn't like the other teachers she'd met here.
Looking out, she didn't know if she should raise her hand, or just blurt out an answer... . . and did he want a literal observation of what was outside? Or a metaphorical idea? She wasn't sure... "Professor, I see the world, the sky, and everything in between... Life, death, and the ever-continuing cycle that connects them. There is love, and hate; pain, and pleasure...." she stopped for a moment and glanced back at the Professor... "I notice that every creature is striving to put themselves in a situation better than the one they are in currently. The seemingly endless sky containing more questions and answers than I can imagine. The two connect effortlessly at the horizon bringing together what is, and what can be."
... Delana knew her answer sounded weird, but she couldn't help it, unless things were specified, she tended to go from 'okay, that makes sense...' to 'what in merlin's name you talking about!?' in just a few seconds... Her philosophical tendencies had once again taken over and she wondered if her answer was sufficent, she prayed it was.

| Lord Borr was the best listener in the whole world. He sat upon his throne like chair and listened INTENTLY to the answers. Some were SO BORING THAT HE LITERALLY NEARLY FELL ASLEEP.
Some were close, most were blatantly sucking up. Not that Lord Borr didn't COMPLETELY understand the students doing so. HE WAS LORD BORR! HE WAS AN ACCOMPLISHED MAN! HE DESERVED THE SUCKING UP! The suck ups were clearly ASPIRING TO BE SOMEONE! BE SOMEONE LIKE LORD BORR!
Hope. It gave Lord Borr HOPE! Quote:

But still, Lyra stood up from her place and walked towards a window, making sure she moved far around the Professor. The Slytherin looked outside and saw the landscape which she started to sum up. Trying not to burst into tears or faint out of fright, he listened to the professor's question. Uh oh. He could see where this was going.. he had, after all, thrown out the students professing an interest in astronomy.
Should he say anything? This was a matter of self-preservation, right. The man was RIGHT THERE.
Raising his hand, Tibi offered what he THOUGHT Borr wanted, but not not what he personally believed. "Sir? You've held our class in midday to show us that the planets and stars are not important?" It came out more as a question, but Tibi thought that's probably what he was going for.

Miranda was very confused. Why does he have a class during the day, indeed. Sitting back in her seat, she pondered the Professors question.
With a boring expression, she raised her hand "Sir, is it because there are many other Astronomic (eh?) things to see during the day? Like the sun, perhaps or the fact that you can still see the mon in daylight?" Or maybe you have gone bonkers...myssir. |

Time to endure the saliva-spit-balling professor to do his job. And yes, he was correct, there were no moons, planets, stars, meteors, and other things out the sky. AND THEY WERE NOT USELESS, Booger Borr. They were BEAUTIFUL. Haaarumph!!
Then, Borr asked a question...why the heck did he set up a class in the middle of the day? Lucy knew why...because he didn't want to teach us anything about Astronomy. Because he thought Astronomy was a useless subject, and it was perfectly fine to replace it with time-consuming lectures about perfection, and manners, and politeness. Yet, she raised her hand. "Sir, it is because you wish to teach us about the...sun? Or perhaps the fact that technically speaking, the stars are indeed still out, but are blinded out by the sun?" Lucy paused to think of some other answers. "Or perhaps, it's to teach us that Astronomy is a pointless subject to you, even though it might help fuel the careers of others? That there is no discipline to be learned within the subject of Astronomy? That stargazing is a stupid activity only to be done by the most idiotic students, such as the students you recently kicked out? Because I agree full-heartedly. That seems reasonable, sir." Reese walked back over to her seat and sat down before she raised her hand. "Lord...Borr," That was the horrible man's name, right? "You have so kindly had this class in the midday because you think Astronomy is....worthless? Unimportant, unlike yourself? So, you had this class in the midday, so we didn't have to talk about those," what did he say? "Meteor showers or worthless moons and plants?" Well, they could still TALK about, but Borr wouldn't have anything to show them since it was daylight outside.
Anyways, that sounded like a good reason, so thought Reese. She lowered her hand as she let others answer the question. Personally, she enjoyed talking about the planets and moons and all that jazz. But, by the looks of it, Lord Borr didn't seem to like it very much. Nope, he didn't seem to like astronomy at ALL.

"Well, Sir, I assume that because you are experienced, certainly you would be able to teach us inside, during the day through books or other means. Maybe not everything, but some things can be learned without being hands-on...right?" she though for a moment... "or, perhaps, it is because this is your class and you have the right to hold it at any time you wish." Delana held back a smirk... at least, that's what she'd do if it was she was a teacher... 2 A.M classes... she liked the sound of that...

Once again, she was not going to 'hasten' just because this fat lump of a man told her to. Making her way to her seat, she took small, slow steps, more interested in watching the students around her. Some looked like they were about to cry, others looked angry, and yet still some others looked ... enthralled. Strange, strange students attend Hogwarts. Arabelle had first hand knowledge of that.
Finally reaching her seat, she slumped down in a bored manner and stared at the ceiling. Seriously, when was this class just going to end? She was sick of trying to control her temper. She was making sure not to say much, but anything she did say or do was the opposite of what Crazy-Man wanted her to do.
Mr. Loony at the front was screaming about something or other. She caught the end of his speech, the part where he started to shout. Must he do that every time he spoke to the class? Was he deaf or something? Why were they having a Astronomy class in the middle of the day, indeed. "Uh, because you and your oh so important self decided to? I mean, since you are the most wonderful person at this school, you get to make the decisions, right?" Arabelle let her sarcasm take over. She rolled her eyes at the man, and slumped down in her seat even further. Nutter.

Emalyn raised an eyebrow. Well, why WAS he having his class in the middle of the day? It didn't make any sense whatsoever. She listened to the other answers and pretended to nod along...but REALLY! There was no reason for an Astronomy lesson to be in the middle of the day, and NOT be in the Astronomy TOWER. She didn't have an answer, besides the fact and the urge to tell Borr that the only reason he was having the class now was to have power over the kids and put all their individual minds down. She kept silent, letting others speak. Enough screaming, Ema thought, writing a few 'notes' down on her notebook. I wonder what homework will be like...
