Large quantities of food are spread before you. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the Hogwarts' house elves are the best in the world. The food is superb and the company is as well.

If anyone wants to join me I’ll probably be by the lake.” Turning around she made her way back out of the great hall heading outside. Making a snow man wasn’t that much fun on your own, but she’d still give it a go.

So with that little bit of studying done, Brody Summers was heading down towards the great hall, ready to have a little bit to eat. Studying was hard work, but she knew she had to do it.
As she was walking down towards the hufflepuff table, she had a pleasant surprise. "Hey Babe." She smiled, as she sat down next to her boyfriend, before leaning forward and smiling at the girl he was with. "Hello....I'm Brody and you are?"

Waiting for Torin's reply, Peyton put some more food in her mouth and then looked up at a voice. Swallowing the food quickly, she smiled and started to introduce herself when Torin beat her to it. She nodded at him, not knowing what to say now.

"How do you all make snowmen then?" He wondered aloud, imagining someone conjuring a snowman from nowhere. Or turning rocks into snowmen? Or snowmen into rocks?

Couldn't they just DO things properly when it was obviously the easiest way? Not that Arrick had made a snowman before--he had, in his younger years, rolled up a ball of snow only to have it kicked over and tromped on by the resident pack of bullies, after which he stuck with lobbing snowballs.

He didn't see what was so fun about making snowmen in the first place.

Resting her head against Torin's arm, she smiled in the girls general direction. "It' very nice to meet you Peyton." She spoke, before looking up at Torin. "You look tired Sweetie." She was a little worried, was he studying too much. Maybe she should help him next time.

He smiled when she rested her head on his arm though he was still really tired. "Yeah, I'm tired and my eyes hurt. That textbook I was reading was so hard to read." He felt like he might collapse into his plate at any minute.

What was it with the winter? She always felt sleepy at this time of year.Could be the amount of thick layers she bundled herself up in most of the time, making her overheat.....but, meh.

Sitting down in an empty space on the bench, Sarah looked down at the plate in front of her, then the food all around.Oddly enough she wasn't hungry.Great stores of fudge bought in Hogsmeade had seen to that.But she was thirsty, and one of the first things she did was pour herself a drink.Then slowly she pushed the plate to the side and with a loud *THUD* her forehead made contact with the table.A sigh followed as she contemplated the bruise she would now have right in the middle.

Groping around with her hand, not seeing where it was going, Sarah pulled the goblet closer to her and wrapped her hand around the stem.

In truth she looked not dissimilar to an old drunk.

Yes, bed. Bed was good. "I think so. But I'm too tired to even get up now." He laughed even though it wasn't even funny. He was just that tired! "Um, I can't remember. Maybe 4 hours. Or 5."

Lorcan found a seat at the table slightly away from everyone else. His head was swimming with numbers and symbols after the joint Arithmancy & Anicent Rune lessons. He felt like he would never understand it all.

He was worried about how Kay might be feeling. He had barely spoken to her after the lesson had started, he had dashed away to catch up with Lexi. After sending a parcel off with Athena and then getting lost in the Maise Maze with Lexi and all that had happened there, he felt like he had been ignoring kay, which wasn't fair to her. He had been through the same thing that she had, and felt like he had to support her.

He chose a nice piece of chicken and mushroom pie and loaded his plate with roast potatoes. He cut his first forkful of pie and lifted it to his mouth. Before it passed his lips he put the fork down, he put it back down again. he had no aptetite.

"I spoke to Lex-, I mean I spoke to Alexandra after Ancient Runes. I told her that what she said to you was out of order. She got so angry because you assumed that she was upto no good when you don't know her. Apparently other people have thought the same thing. I wouldn't expect an appology, she was more hurt than I think she wants to admit. She told me that she followed you to the corridor where the kitchen is. She shouldn't have done that." The usual blush had started to creep up his face. He had dealt with more feelings since coming to Hogwarts than he ever thought could exist. It's because I'm surrounded by girls. He thought. He took a few mouthfuls of food, unsure about the thing that he had to say next. Eventually, having taken a drink of water, he looked up at Kay.
"Listen, Kay, you're both my friends and I don't want to loose either of you. I can understand if you don't want to be friends with her, I really can, but please don't force me to choose. I think that you and I need each other; I don't know anyone else who's lost a p-" He stopped short, realising that he was about to expose both of their secrets. "Well, you know. I didn't tell her that either. If you want people to know then you'll tell them I'm sure. I prefer to pretend it's not true unless I'm absolutely forced to tell the truth." he studied her face carefully to see how she might respond.

Kylie was starting to feel a little uncomfortable. She really liked Hogwarts. It was the only place she felt like she'd... fit in. For years she'd had to hide herself away, end friendships, all because she caught her grandmother's gene. She liked being in a place where crazy things happened, exciting things happened. Where she could be herself and not have to hide anything.. well, she'd have to hide secrets and things--she was sure. But not that she was a witch. Kay looked at the food and felt sick. She just couldn't eat. It all looked well, sick. "I guess I could drink some pumpkin juice." Kay said in the only vioce that would come out. It sounded small and unused. "But, I really can't eat." She looked away so he couldn't see the look of getting sick. Looking back Kay watch him pour the juice. She listen to him talk about the class. She stopped smiling the little smile she had. 'Here it comes. He's going to tell he off.' Kay thought, but he just said how bad class was. Why wasn't he mad at her. Again Kay felt the sick feeling. "You did fine in class. I will help you if you need it." She said trying to drink the juice.

Kay stiffened when Lorcan said Alexandra's name. She wanted to run to get away from everything, even life. She had started to trust Lorcan and now she didn't have enough one. "I understand that she hates me. I even understand that she doesn't want me to be friends with you. But, I Really don't remember being mean to her. Yes, I was mad about the picture, but not at her personally." Kay said not being able to stop. The words just kept coming. "I wrote to my cousin to asked if I could come live with him, and to teach me a shielding charm." Kay said looking like she could sick up at any time. "Lorcan, she really scaried me in that hall way. She told me to be worried, to watch my back. I know she your friend and I will stay out of the way." Kay said looking at him. "I can understand that you took her sade, even that you want to comfront me yourself. I just wanted a friend that I could go to." Kay stopped and Looked at her hands. Lorcan poured out a goblet full of juice for Kay. "Kay, you really should try to eat something. You'll help me? Great, because I really don't have a clue. That thing about 33 was the only thing I understood, and I was the one who said it." He smiled at her.

Kay seemed to bristle when he said Lexi's name. After that, he wasn't sure that she was listening to him at all. When she had finished speaking, a so tear ran down her cheek. He looked around swiftly and then seized her hand in his. "She doesn't hate you, she'll get over it. And she hasn't said that she wants me to stop being your friend. If she had, I wouldn't still be her friend." He rubbed the back of her hand in what he hoped was a soothing manner. "Can you understand how it must have sounded? She wasn't to know that what happened in the common room, when I told her she didn't believe me. She thought that I was lying to stick up for you. How hurt would you have been if you'd have heard her say those things about you. You didn't believe me when I tried to tell you that she was nice because you were too busy panicking, which was completely understandable, since your grandmother is a total dragon, just like mine." He took a drink of water, his mouth felt very dry.

"You're not going anywhere. You're going to go back to the common room and you're going to write to your cousin and tell him that you over reacted and that you're fine. If she ever threatens you again, then that will be the end of me and her being friends. She was never going to send that photo to your gran, there's nothing wrong with you knowing a spell that's not in the Standard Book. What she did in that corridor was wrong and I told her that it was."

He looked into her sad face. "Kay, you have got a friend that you can come to. Me, but I can't keep telling you that over and over. It hurts that I should have to." He didn't let go of her hand and his gaze was fixed on her.

"You're not going anywhere. You're going to go back to the common room and you're going to write to your cousin and tell him that you over reacted and that you're fine. If she ever threatens you again, then that will be the end of me and her being friends. She was never going to send that photo to your gran, there's nothing wrong with you knowing a spell that's not in the Standard Book. What she did in that corridor was wrong and I told her that it was."

She looked at him when he said she should eat. "I can't. I haven't been able to eat since this all started two days ago." Kay said looking at all the food. "I just can't."

Kay thought about helping Lorcan with his work. "You were right about 33. It is a master number. That was brilliant. I had forgotten about them."

When Lorcan took her hand Kay flushed and started to shake. "I know I over reacted, but it just kept happening. I'll tell her am sorry, but I don't think it will help." Kay said. She was starting to relax a little with Lorcan rubbing the back of her hand. "I'm still scared that she will jump out at me somewhere. But, I understand I was the one who was wrong."

When Lorcan said she wasn't going any where, she thought of the letter in her pocket. "I don't have to write a new letter." She said taking the letter out of her pocket. "I haven't sent it yet."

Kay tried to look away but found that she couldn't. (do you believe me?) rang in her ears. 'Why would he ask me that' "Yes, I believe you. I was just scaried that you wouldn't want me as a friend after what happened."

Kay still wasn't calm enough to eat. Something just wasn't right with her. 'What is wrong with me' Kay thought. She looked hard into his eyes and... "I BELIEVE YOU" she said again.

She was very wrong to behave the way that she did and I've told her so. You can apologise to her if it will make you feel better, but don't do it for my sake or hers. She won't be jumping out at you again, not unless she wants to find herself on the wrong end of my wand." He smiled slightly at the pun he'd made.

When she produced the letter he dropped her and and grabbed it, tearing into very small pieces. "See, I'm not giving you the option of sending it." He knew that Kay would need signs that he meant what he was saying and hoped that was a good start. She still didn't believe him, no matter how much he told her that she did. She looked pale and shaky, as though she was about to pass out.

"Right, now you've got two choices: either you eat something or I take you to the hospital wing because Sunday Girl, you look awful."

'Sunday Girl? who was that?' Kay thought. "I never have been like this before. I have never been afraid of someone." Kay said with a little sigh. "Please don't do anything with your wand that will get you kick out." she said squeezing his had back. "Please, I can't be here without a friend."

Kay jumped a little when Lorcan grabbed the letter. He ripped it into little prices and let the drop on the table and floor. She laughed a little for the first time in what seemed like years. "You really don't want me to send that letter do you." She asked happily. Then she thought about having to talk to someone. "I just had to tell someone. Then I didn't really want to leave." Kay sighed and Looked at Lorcan. "I did talk to Marie about somethings and she told me I was being Stupid. That I should just confront her, but I just want it to be over." Kay said hoping that he wouldn't be mad that she talked to Marie. "She saw me setting by our tree, mmm, my tree by the lake. She said I looked awful and dragged me to Hogsmeade."

Kay thought she would just pass out and that way she would not have to eat. but the hospital wing wasn't somewhere she wanted to be. "Lorcan, I do want to eat, but when I get the food to my mouth I feel sick. It all smells so good and I love peach tarts and chicken pie." Kay said looking at all the food. She really did want to eat but... "Then it gets on my plate and I want to sick up. This isn't something I want to do, I have Quidditch to get ready for. Kay turned to look at Lorcan. she really needed to grow up and just forget about be unwanted. When her parents had dead so did she. How do you wake up from that. "I don't want to go to the hospital wing, so...I will try." Kay said making a face.
