Evan blushed under that gaze of the professor. Bad!Evan. He needed to let go of his dreams of football. He definately had, or it would cause him trouble. This was the second time he was dreaming in a lesson, and he had to be the nice Evan again. Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. Right.

He examined the fake wand, it had such an interesting design. It obviously shouted "I'm different!". He wondered how many deaths it had caused, and decided that he wouldn't want it. Nah, his life was precious. He handed it to the next student as he thought of the question. Er... Grindelwald... Dumbledore... Potter... Malfoy... Hearing the other detailed answers, he remained silent. No need to embarrass himself with little information.

Sylvia grinned and raised her hand again quickly. "Draco Malfoy owned it, because he disarmed Professor Dumbledore before he ... umm .. you know." He hand fell a little, before she carried on. "And then Harry Potter disarmed him, and then he became it's owner."

Arianna frowned a bit " I'm not sure.." she said with her hand raised in the air ".. but I thought it was quite complicated to keep a track on it since it changed owner so often.. and always with a bloodbath.. right?" she heard some colleges speaking of Harry Potter and Dumbledore so it was no good for her to mention it as well.

Nataly raised her hand. The house elf Landy told her the tale of the three brothers many times when she was little, so she remmebred it. And when she saw the Draco Malfoy frog card... "The first owner was Antioch Peverell. He always won duels with it, but he always boasted about it. So one night, another wizard killed him in his sleep and took the wand to himself." she answered. "Also, Draco Malfoy disarmed Dumbledore just before his death, and became the owner of the wand, without even knowing it. After that Harry Potter disarmed him, and became the owner of the wand."

Arrick, as usual, was completely lost. The Elder Wand didn't appear all that imposing to him--in fact, its length made it look silly and unwieldy. If you couldn't put it anywhere other than hold it, you were surely going to lose it somewhere, you would, or it would be easy to lift if you were trying to steal it.

"Bigger ernt always better," he muttered as the rest of the class eagerly volunteered lists of the Elder Wand's previous owners. "Bravado, it is. Invisibility's most useful than bringin' back the dead or havin' a big stick, it is." He made a face at the word 'stick'.

As he listened to the answers his classmates gave, he suddenly noticed a pattern to the names. "They're all guy's names, they are," he blurted. "Ernt there any girls who had the big stick? Or are big magic sticks a guy thing," he trailed off in a mutter, making a face again. Bravado and bragging again. He hated that.

Kylie raised her hand, "Antioch Peverell, Emeric the Evil um...Godelot Sr., Hereward Godelot, Barnabas Deverill, Loxias, Arcus and/or Livius, Gregorovitch, Gellert Grindelwald, Albus Dumbledore, Draco Malfoy, and Harry Potter." She had a strange feeling she was missing someone. She didn't really mind though, she quickly looked around the room. Many of the students seemed totally lost.. she was really glad her grandmother had so much reading material at her house. If she hadn't spent those weekends outside of the muggle realm, this class would be virtually impossible. She'd heard one rumor, once... concerning this. She'd heard a rumor that Harry Potter, the last owner, had destroyed it. "Professor?" She said, "And I've heard a rumor.. my Grandmother believes it at least.. she thinks that Harry Potter destroyed the elders stick. It was too.. dangerous? Do you know if that's true?"

Zoe took the replica elder wand when it came to her. She tried to flourish it around as if she were performing a spell, but it felt too long to be comfortable. Then she heard a boy speak out about all of the wielders of the wand being male.

Raising her hand she added, "Yes, professor as he said, why have all of the wielders of the elder wand been male? Is there some sort of specific pattern or is it just that males tend to be more violent and power hungry?" with the last question Zoe smiled a little to herself. Females were definitely superior in most things. That didn't mean that boys didn't have their good qualitites too, but Zoe couldn't imagine choosing to be one if given the option.

Realizing just before she gave up the replica elder wand that it might make a good photo she pulled the camera from her bag and turned it around so that the lens was facing her. Holding the wand out with a menacing look on her face and stretching her other arm as far as it would go she tried her best to center herself in the frame and snapped the picture. Blinking a bit from the flash so close to her eyes she blindly passed the wand off to the next student.

Michelle thought for a minute and then raised her hand and answered. "The known masters of the Deathstick are Antioch's killer, Barnabas Deverill, Albus Dumbledore, Egbert the Egregious, Emeric the Evil, Godelot Sr., Hereward Godelot, Gregorovitch, Gellert Grindelwald, Loxias, Draco Malfoy, Antioch Peverell, and Harry Potter."

Tavelon flipped to the page in his book like everyone else. He did indeed know many of the owners... maybe not a few of them. But at this point it would only look like he was copying everyone's answers, so he wrote them on his parchment.

"It is not common knowledge, however I am quite sure someone knows where it is." Truebridge answered.

"Ah well, not necessarily. The next person to find it might just be left with a dead stick, just like that replica there." Ethan pointed at the replica as it was handed around the class. "Recall that, in order to be the Master of the Elder Wand, you must disarm or defeat its current owner. If that person dies or has died a natural death, then the Elder Wand will never again be able to be mastered as the Deathstick, and perhaps not even as a wand made of elder."

"It is complicated, though not always from changing hands with a bloodbath. In some cases, when the Master of the Elder Wand was disarmed, it would pass on its allegience to a new Master who would not even know they had control of it." Truebridge offered a brief explanation.

"... and that is just the thing. It is entirely possible to have become the owner of the wand without even laying a hand on it." Ethan agreed.

"Right. Bigger does not mean better and that is particularly true in the case of a wand." Ethan paused to listen and nodded.

"Thats right, all males. Not one female has ever been Master of the Elder Wand."

"I can't say for sure what happened to it, except that I agree it was too dangerous." Truebridge replied.

Ethan blinked at the flash from the camera and answered slowly.

"As Arrick mentioned, indeed it is an important consideration that no female has ever owned the wand, though I do feel the need to point out that not all the Masters of the wand have been violent and power-hungry as you say."

He was hit with a sudden thought, that if any woman was capable of both desiring the Elder Wand and actually mastering it, it would in his completely unbiased opinion be Anastasia Bunbury.

Where was that Plymouth with his breakfast?

"If you haven't copied down the list of the known Masters of the Elder Wand, copy it from a classmate now." Truebridge instructed. "Before we move on to talk about the people on that list, are there any questions?"

Marie looked over her notes to make sure she had all the names on her list. Satisfied that her list was complete she sat back and waited for class to continue.

"Thank you, professor and sir," Fyo said, and now his hand was in the air again. "I know there is no evidence to prove that a witch has ever mastered the wand, but there isn't any concrete evidence to the contrary either, is there? The Elder Wand's history has been full of gaping holes, then why are wizards and witches so intent upon accepting that no witch has ever owned it?"

Was it, he wondered, a new form of discrimination? Statements like the "no witch has ever..." one could, Fyo thought with a small smile, cause some females he knew [read: Nat] to explode into a rage.

Evelyn stared at the wand as it was past around. 'Such a powerful wand...' the voice said in her mind. 'What i wouldn't give to have it.'

'Yea, but you would have to go through me first.' Evelyn replied back, taking up her quill and writing down the list of people they talked about. 'Besides, that wand is probably long gone.'

'No one has proven that Ev.' the voice snapped back. 'Woah, hang tight will you? It's just a wand.' she thought, putting down her quill when she was done copying. 'But Evelyn, it's the wand. Look at it! We could be invincible!'

Rolling her eyes, Evelyn sat back in her seat, glancing around the room while ignoring the voice, but that one word kept getting stuck in her mind. 'Invincible.' Now that would be pretty neat...Breaking out of thought, she glanced at the wand one last time before looking up to the professor, shaking her head no that she didn't have any questions.

Argyle gets tired of waiting for the Plymy boy to come into the kitchen and get Master Truebridge's breakfast. Argyle decides to bring it herself.
Argyle appears on Truebridge's desks. Argyle is holding a tray with two cups of steaming coffee on it. Argyle snaps her free fingers. A box of assorted doughnuts appears on Truebridge's desk.



"That crazy Plymmy boy said you needed breakfast Master Truebridge. Strange boy, he does not like Argyle. Everyone loves Argyle."

What, what, whattt? Fyo raised an eyebrow as a house-elf he had seen before [in the kitchens, not in the classroom, obviously] popped into the room, carrying a tray that bore a cup or two of coffee.

First astronomy, now this. What were these, classes, or hours allotted for general surprise at how crazy Hogwarts could get?

Oh well - end well meant all well, you know.

Staring at the house elf that was on professor Truebridge's desk, Evelyn crossed her arms and tilted her head slightly to the side. 'Kinda miss Bibby.' she thought, referring the house elf at home. 'He was always so nice to me.'

'Oh jeez...do not start on that little...thing.' the voice said in disgust. 'Hey! He's the best friend i've had...well before i came here!'

'He's a house elf.' it said in reply as if it was the most obvious answer. 'So?' Smiling at the house elf, Evelyn leaned her head back and stared up at the ceiling, before closing her eyes. Just for a few seconds or so. Maybe a minute. Or two...

Tavelon raised his hand, intending to ask about the wand's choice of wizard, however, before he could say anything a house elf popped into the room. Startled by the loud 'crack' it made, Tavelon watched curiously as he brought coffee and doughnuts.

Hopefully professor Trubridge was feeling generous. Those doughnuts looked good.

He raised his hand again. "Er... Professor..." he started

"Are you going to hog all those doughnuts to yourse-" Tavelon blurted, but he stopped short, turning a little red. "I mean.... I have a question about the wand. Erm... Well, if 'the wand chooses the wizard', then did it choose who would win it over in a duel?"

Cedric smiled at once. "Oh. That made something clear." he said merely, a little disappointed. So Professor Truebridge does not know about the wand disapperances that was happening all around or maybe the wand disappearances is just a rumour that he'd heard to make students value their wands. Hmm.

And Cedric has another question but good that it has nothing to do with the wand disappearances or his professor would consider his questions irrelevant or off-topic about their lessons. He listened as Professor Truebridged asked the students if they has any questions. Ced raised his hand solely, "Err. Sir. So Harry Potter was the last proprietor of the elder wand. I think he'd lost it. I'm just wondering if somebody had found it."

"Sir, Didn't Harry Potter not want the Elder wand in the end? Didn't he put it back with Professor Dumbledore?" Kay asked as she saw a house elf pop into the room. 'Food, oh Kay was so hungry.'

"Good point indeed, Fyo." Ethan nodded in agreement. "However, throughout history there is evidence to show that women tend to find other means to gain power, usually at less risk to themselves. If a witch happened to be the greatest influence on one of the men who owned the wand, who is to say, in some ways, she would not have mastery of it in her own way?"

Not one ever to be surprised except, on occassion, by Krazimeriz; Ethan merely regarded the elf in a quiet fashion.

"Presumptuous of you to think Plymouth does not like you, dear Argyle, but perhaps he might be a little put out that you have in a sense, appropriated his little 'mission'." And indeed how excited had the boy seemed about being asked for such a simple thing as breakfast?

He eyed the doughnuts thoughtfully and decided, since there was neither a Jake Upstead or a Celandine Toussaint in sight, both of them being in his Advanced level class, it was safe enough to offer some to his students.

Of course none could possibly be as much of a sugar fiend as those two or the recently graduated Clifford Carden.

Evil Incarnate would be no match for each of those three after being locked in Honeydukes for any length of time.

Hmmm. And with that frightening thought, Ethan's attention was caught by a hand being raised.

"I think we might have to see about sharing these with those students who show themselves to be paying attention. A little encouragement, as they say." Truebridge answered.

"As for your question, it is a little hard to say for sure exactly how sentient the Elder Wand, or indeed any wand is. Certainly the wand is responsive to desire for power so perhaps when that desire or something resembling it is stronger than that of its Master, then maybe the wand 'decided' to switch allegience. We can't ever be completely sure, it is all just speculation."

"We are all wondering that, Cedric. We do not know for sure what the answer is."

Truebridge cleared his throat and eyed the doughnuts.

They were disturbingly round.

"Upon examining the list of known Masters of the Deathstick, aside from the fact that they have the Elder Wand in common and are all male, can anyone see any other aspects these wizards had in common with one another? Doughnuts for the best answer."

And Coffee. Yes, he'd give an eleven year old coffee.

Ethan Truebridge much preferred tea.

A sudden image of a humpbacked witch, cackling madly and stirring away at a bubbling cauldron with the Deathstick for a spoon, flitted into Fyo's mind. He blinked, then smiled slightly.

"Yes, sir."
"Ambition, sir?" Fyo suggested, hand in air. "A hope to receive from, or attached to, the wand? Every owner of the Elder Wand may not have desired power, but I don't think there's been an owner without aims and a hunger for gain, yet. Even, Gregorovitch, one of the more "respectable" men who have possessed the Deathstick, had massive hopes, ambition regarding the duplication of its powers."

Hope - in its own way, such a killer, Fyo thought quietly.

There was a very small pause, then he added, "When talking of the men who have owned the wand, sir, we often leave out Harry Potter, maybe because we believe he never used the wand to his advantage, the way most of the others did. But the fact is, even he hoped to - and did - gain from the wand: many of us tend to forget that it was his mastery of the wand that was, in the end, the death of Voldemort." In a way.

"Plus," he added - he was, as usual, on a roll - "They all had a love for battle, it seems. Some of them, like Emeric the Evil, fought their battles against the good side; some, like Albus Dumbledore, against the dark; and some, like Gregorovitch, against the Impossible - but, one or the other, the battles ran. They were strong men, with a clear sense of objective, and they knew exactly what they desired from the wand."

He lowered his hand, not sure he was satisfied with his answer. There was more he wanted to say - there always was.

Kay thought about what the owners had in common. Kay put her hand up. "Sir, I believe that most of them were family to each other which would mean they were unhappy the other had more power. Some of the others went to school together, here at Hogwart. Some were friends and some were not. They ended up fighting trying to save other peoples lives. This would include Professor Dumbledore and Harry Potter who saved all of us really." Kay said to the professor.

Miranda gasped loudly as the House Elf brought in the delicious softness of baked goods. Or deep fried goods, whatever.
"DouGHnUTs!!!" she breathed fiercly, putting first one hand and then the other over her mouth.

Oh she knew which one she wanted. The one totally covered in CHOCOLATE.

SHEWANTEDADOUGHNUT.

"Sir," Miranda raised her hand, "Might there be a connection with all of the owners, that they had either known, fought or were relatives to Harry Potter which was the last known in possesion of the Elder wand?"

Pausing, she thought of the possibility. "The brothers were decendants of the Boy Who Lived...Albus Dumbledore was a known close friend to the boy, and Draco Malfoy was like his arch enemy." Yes? No?

Though what of the others, before them?

"Doughnuts, wow thank you Argyle, K had never met Argyle befor but this house elf may be her favorite!" K then turned to the Professor, "Are we allowed to have any right now Professor?" K asked with a cute face hoping we would be able to eat them now while disscussing the list of owners of the elder wand, She didn't have any questions since she knew the list and most of the history of them specially since she knew Draco and stuff. "This class is becoming really fun and intresting."
