Carter looked over to see his friend Tori. "Hey, I haven't seen you in awhile..." he said. He then noticed as an owl dropped a letter for her. "Everything alright?" he asked her.

Tori someone speaking to her but she couldn't answer, she couldn't tear her eyes away from the surprise letter. She began shaking her head, whispering, "It can't be him. It just can't..." Allowing the letter to fall from her hands, she looked up to see Carter looking at her with an expression of concern. Tori simply stared back. For once she was lost for words. Instead she handed him the letter.

Carter took the letter. It was from Tori's father. The one who just abandoned Tori and her mother. He could see Tori completely lost and in a daze. He thought the the best thing to do was to get her away from everyone and to give her space to think. "Do you want to go outside? Get some fresh air?"

Tori heard someone speaking to her again. It sounded like Carter. She wasn't able to think clearly but she felt her head nodding. Everything seem to have sped up yet she felt like she was slow motion."What is going on?" she thought to herself.

"I'll catch up with you guys later." Carter said to the others he was talking with at the table. He got up and walked to Tori. He held out a hand for her to help her get up.

Tori took his offered hand and got up from the table. She noticed something that she hadn't paid much attention to since she met Carter. He was much taller than she was. As they walked out of the Great Hall, she felt herself being pulled out of the trance she was in. Every feeling she ever had began rushing back to her but she remained silent.

Carter guided Tori through the Great Hall and toward the huge double doors. Soon enough they were at the doors heading in to the entrance hall.

Jason comes down here. He looks for students to meet here. He eats his potatos, kidney pie and bangers.

What a lonnnngggg morning! Daisy complained to herself as she trudged into the Great Hall. She was hungry for she had missed breakfast and has spent most of the morning outside in the greenhouses trying to get a particularly stubborn gilly weed to sprout. She had a bit of algae on her cheek and her hair was pulled back into a very messy pony tail which she had hastily done in order to (attempt) to keep her hair from getting dirty. (It of course, hadn’t worked.)

She plopped herself down onto the hard wooden bench and started pulling her dragon hide gloves off getting a little bit of dirty water over the nearby place settings (including her own). She noticed the dirt but was too tired to do much about it. Besides, she’d already eaten a good tablespoon of dirt in the greenhouse, what more harm could a bit of dirt on a plate do?

She took a moment to rub her temples with her fingertips, then leaned over and grabbed a couple of sandwiches from a nearby plate. She took a bite without looking at the type of lunchmeat it had and then slouched down a little with her head in her hand and her elbow on the table.

It was quite a boring day or, he thought ,as there was no time and nobody to have a laugh with. There was something annoying deep inside him but no matter how much he tried to find the source for that mental weight, there was not even a single clue. There was no reason to be unhappy and he was definitely not unhappy but also he felt that he'd lost his usual joy and energy recently. It was best to eat and sit along with others in the Great Hall since the Common Room was kinda deserted. So walking to the Gryffindor table he smiled and nodded at everyone than settled down near an older girl to check what was available to have a snack on.

Daisy was shaken out of her people watching as a younger boy sat down at the table next to her. “Hey,” she said in a semi-flat monotone voice. “Long morning for you too?”

She reached out and grabbed a pitcher and filled her cup with some milk, then offered the pitcher to the boy by setting it down on the table between them.

"Jesus. Smart one," she chuckled, forking a piece of pie. "Gawd, these guys are going to kill me with all this good food. And you?" Ella laughed, poking Carter with a nearby spoon, added, "You need to help us win this year. Tutor mehh, or something. You're so smarrrt. Seen ya in classes." Ahhhhaha, she loved 'em Gryffies.

"Heyyy! I'm Ella!" she grinned, "And you are? I luffed tryouts. I hope I make the team!" she squealed.

"School's going fantastic for me, what about you?" Ella smiled. "Katlyn is such a pretty name."

"'Sup, Josh?" Ella smiled, seeing her other friend.

Josh was looking for any meaty thing on the table since there was no steak as the older girl greeted him ''Hey!'' he smiled at her ''Yeah, it looks like. I think the changing seasons hit me.'' he leaned over the table to have some potatoes instead of meat and politely turned down the milk ''Thank you but i think i might throw up if i drink it. My stomach is weird these days, you know. Water'd be better''. Then, he looked around the hall and up before looking back at the girl ''Have the owl post arrived yet?''

There was a letter from his mom he expected a lot however nobody knew if she got his letter or where she was. A total mystery. He gulped a l,ttle piece of potato and looked around to see who else called him ''Hey Ella. Quite fine'' he replied with a half smirk ''What about you?''

“Not yet,” she said taking another bite out of the sandwich she had proliferated from a plate before the boy had sat down. Daisy herself had been waiting on a package delivery from her folks for a month now and she highly doubted she was going to receive it. Stupid Owl Post, she mentally cursed to herself. They’d lost Houdini’s cage and she was at a loss of what to do about it.

“The weather changed rather quickly this year didn’t it? Seemed like yesterday it was Halloween and today it’s nearly December.” Silly wasn’t it? Talking about the weather made Daisy feel like she was 45 with nothing interesting to discuss. “Makes some classes a bit harder too.” Especially herbology, she added to herself as she scratched at the patch of dry algae on her face (that she didn’t realize was there).

"Same," she replied happily. "So where's Eve? You too are, like, always together."

Achilles moved into the great hall and sat down at the Gryffindor House Table. He had spent the past few months learning more and more about his new home but yet to learn about the people he was with. He sat down and ate.

"Skool's actually pretty great! I luv this skool!" Katlyn said excitedly "Thanks. Ella is a pretty name too." Katlyn smiled

"Achhkh," Ella smiled, "You're such a sweetheart. Been to any classes yet?"

Josh nodded at the girl's reply about the owl post, his mouth full of potatoes. So he had not missed it yet, that was good news. Was it even possible for one to miss post here since most of people had their own owls? He did not know. As he leaned over again to stuff some cheese into his mouth to mixing them with the potato inside, he froze for a second as she started to talk about the weather. Talking about it was odd and felt like a rather adult topic however he had been doubting that recent psychological discomfort might be caused directly by weather. He loved the sun shining above joyfully and here the wet weather was at the door. Boring, fatally boring. ''Yep'' he said right after gulping potato-cheese mix. ''Annoying, is not it? I really do miss the summer days. Dont misunderstand me. I'm not complaining about school, it's rather nice and warm here with all the people but the promlem is that even from the window, when its wet weather, it seemy gloomy to me''

Then what Ella said made him smile wider. ''Your right'' he replied looking for more water ''But i really dont know. Maybe in her common room, enjoying herself, who knows''

Jason saw a new boy that he never saw in the school. " Hi, my name is Jason Potter Weasley" he told the boy. "So how is your food?" Jason asked him. "What is your name?" Jason asked him.

“Gloomy weather makes people gloomy,” Daisy responded with more emotion then she had shown in pervious statements. “I read that Muggles do studies all the time on how weather affects people. Rather an odd thing to study, but they do it. We could use some nice sunny weather for a few days, brighten things up around here.” She paused spying a plate of fruit a plate down from the boy next to her.

“Mind passing the fruit would you?” she asked finishing up her sandwich.

Vivianne was strolling around carrying her small sling back along with her. She had nothing important inside just the camera her sister had sent her. If it were in muggle transit it would have lost but owls do have another way aroundsoit reached her safe and obviously working.

She wasn't really hungry but a little piece of pudding will do. Vivianne had seen Daisy talking to a first year and so she slipped beside her and greeted, "Hello." She grabbed a sandwich and took a bite. "So what have you been up to?" She asked as she continued to eat. "Glad this isn't a chicken sandwich," she added. It's not as if she's allergic to it but she doesn't like chicken spreads and stuffs.

''Exactly'' Josh agreed ''It's the dark side of life that no one can avoid'' laughing at his own statement he took some more potatoes ''Except the fat people'' the twelve year old Gryffindor grinned wider and wider as more and more funny ideas occured to him. Then he was snapped out the great ideas of jokes when the girl demanded fruit ''Ah sure suure'' he replied quickly and passed the fruit bowl to her. ''I think the berries and pineapple are the best'' he told her than remembering something Josh hit his forehead. ''Ah sorry, i have not yet introduced myself to you, have i? I'm Joshua Carter'' he took a banana and brandished it like a sword ''Master of knights. And you dear lady?''

Ah, it seemed Vivianne and Daisy had a sort of mental telepathy going on. Her best friend always showed up at just the right time, especially when she was a bit downtrodden or gloomy. “Hey,” she replied scratching the patch of dried algae on her cheek again. “I spent the morning in the greenhouse working with gilly weed. You?”
She took the bowl of fruit and scooped some out onto her plate before handing it over to Vivianne, assuming her bestie would want some too. The boy next to her babbled on a bit about people and Daisy lost him for a moment as she speared a couple pieces of fruit. “I’m partial to peaches, pears, and plums,” she replied to his berries and pineapple comment. “I think it’s the ‘p’ although that would include the pineapple then wouldn’t it?” she paused. “Say, do you know why a pineapple is called a pineapple anyway?” They certainly didn’t grown on pine trees and they definitely didn’t look like an apple.

“Joshua Carter?” Daisy repeated. “Well, Joshua Carter, I’m Daisy Petrus, and this is Vivianne Nat.” She motioned to Vivianne who was sitting on her other side munching away on a sandwich and muttering about chicken.

Luna entered the great hall after taking her class, she was very hungry and tired so she drank some water and looked around for her friends, but couldn't find them, as she looked around she saw a girl passing fruit "Hi!! i'm Luna, and whats your name".
