It was true--she hadn't eaten anything all day except for a bowl of porridge for breakfast! Hungrily, Lucy grabbed a bowl of fruit and starting loading her plate with all different kinds of fruit. |
Muggle Studies Homework Quote:

*Muggle Studies HW Alexandra walked into the Great Hall with her camera in hand and approached her house table. Looking around she decided to take a photo of the whole table instead of one particular person. Catching them off guard would make for a better photo. She bent down and kind of duck walked over and snapped a candid photo and scurried away. |
Lucy walked into the Great Hall and headed for an empty space at the Gryffindor table. She made sure there was an empty space on both sides of her so Katlyn would have somewhere to sit when she came. Looking around, she noticed a girl taking a picture of the whole Gryffindor table. "Must be the Muggle Studies homework," she murmured, as she had seen many people taking random pictures for that particuar subject. While waiting for Katlyn, Lucy grabbed some milk and cereal, and made herself a nice breakfast. "Wonder when Kat will get down here.." she thought as she ate. |
Happy glanced back over his shoulder before hastily taking a seat at the Gryffindor table. He wasn't exactly looking to where he was sitting, his mind more focussed on the large, oak door that lead through to the Great Hall from the entrance. He breathed out, satisfisied that no one was coming, and turned to the unfortuneate person sitting next to him. It was a girl, around about his age, and she was eating cereal. He smiled sheepishly at her, "Er...sorry about that," he said, indicating to his sudden and quite dramatic actions. He chuckled nervously and to stop himself from doing anything even more embarassing, he grabbed a handful of chips and dropped them onto his plate. |
Alexandra plopped down in an open spot at the Gryffindor table. Careful to keep her eyes on her table, she didn't want to have a run in with the little Hufflepuff or the slippery little Slytherin. |

"Oh, that's quite alright! I was just saving a seat for my friend, but she can sit on my other side," Lucy said as she placed her bag on the seat next to her so no one would sit there. "I'm Lucy, by the way. And you are...?" she asked the boy, with a curious smile. She had definitely never seen him before, but she loved making new friends. Quote:
"Hi there! I'm Lucy Mclean, fourth year. I've seen you around the castle, but I don't know your name..." she said with a chuckle. |
Glad that she hadn't taken affence to his sudden arrival, although he was still sorry that he'd stolen the seat of her friend, he bit the end of one of his chips thoughtfully. The hot potato burned the back of his throat and he coughed. "Nice to meet you Lucy," he said, once he'd swallowed the scorching chip. "I'm Happy, fourth year Gyffindor," |

"Don't choke on me, now!" she exclaimed, with a laugh. "It's nice to meet you, Happy. I'm a fourth year as well! By the way---LOVE your name. Does it match your personality?" she asked with a smile. Quote:

He frowned, deciding to leave the rest of the chips until they'd cooled down. He did not want a repeat of what'd just happened, although Lucy hadn't taken too badly to it. And she was a fourth year, and obviously a Gryffindor considering they were both sitting on the same table. Another girl, much younger this time, had also joined them. And by the passing of names, it seemed she was called Alexandra. Blimey. And no abbreviations of it either. He'd have to remember that. He nodded to her in a form of recognition before turning back to Lucy to answer her question. Happy shrugged and grinned slightly, "I guess... I've never really thought about it in that way before. I used to get teased about it when I was younger, but it doesn't tend to bother me anymore. But sometimes it does give across the wrong impression. I'm not a ray of sunshine, I'm sorry to say, but in some aspects, I suppose it does reflect my personality," No one had ever said that about his name before; it astounded him that she LOVED it. To him it had mostly been a burden, but maybe now, things were looking up. He smiled, nodded and ate another chip, forgetting they were still steaming hot. The heat hit him like a ton of bricks. He hastily reached for his pumpkin juice and took a large, relieving sip. The cool, orange liquid hastily removed any further burning. As he placed the cup back onto the table, he chuckled sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck nervously as he did so. |
Alexandra nodded her recognition to the boy beside Lucy named.. Happy was it. Aww how cute is that, thought Alexandra. She smiled brightly at him. |
Rafe took a seat. He was starving. It felt like forever since the last time he ate. He piled his plate high with food. If a zebra was on the table, he probably would have dived right in like a lion. He pushed some of the meat that was overcooked to the side. He hated overcooked meat. Couldn't Hogwarts have some things a bit more on the rare side. |

"I'm a fourth year, as I was just telling Happy here," she continued, noticing the way his name sounded on her lips--she simply LOVED saying his name! "What about you?" she asked Alexandra Quote:
"Well, I promise you will never see me teasing you about your name--I love unusual names." Noticing that he had eaten another hot chip, and gulped down some pumpkin juice to ease his burning throat, Lucy said,"You ok there, Happy? I would wait on those chips--now I know why your mom didn't name you Patience!" Lucy laughed at her own joke--oh, she was too funny. Well, she didn't crack jokes that often, but it felt good to make some jokes now and then. Quote:
"Hey Rafe!" she yelled to him. "Wanna join Alexandra, Happy, and me?" she asked him, pointing to other two sitting beside her. |

"Aww, don't look sad, I love making new friends, no matter what year! Infact, I think I have more first year friends than fourth year! I love firsties--and I would LOVE to be your friend!" Lucy smiled happily at Alexandra, and took a bite of her cereal. "So, how are you liking Hogwarts so far?" she asked her. |

"Yeah, the older students tend to be a bit more open about making friends with younger students." "Welll, some Slytherins can be mean, I guess, but the Hufflepuffs are usually nice," Lucy responded, placing her hand under her chin as if in thought, "Which Hufflepuff could possible have made you angry?" Lucy asked her thoughtfully. |

He turned to look at her at her next comment, both his eyebrows raised, before he could contain it no longer. An actual laugh escaped his lips, and even though it was small and short and more like a chuckle than anything, it felt good; he grinned. "Not bad, Lucy, not bad," he said, with a slight shake of his head. "But I think you're right; maybe I do need to wait a bit before they cool down. The whole burning my mouth thing isn't really working out," He moved his tongue about his mouth experimentally. It felt numb. He frowned, drawing his stare away from the chips before he took another sip of pumpkin juice. Quote:

SPOILER!!: Clickie clickie Alexandra smiled, it seems like Lucy may very well be right. The younger kids she had met were awfully unfriendly, aside from Lorcan."It seems like most everyone around here is very helpful also." she said with a smile. "I think the Huffies name was Kay. I thought they were all supposed to be sweet people too, but she seemed to have a problem with me from the time I met her." Alexandra said with shrug."Well, yeah the Slytherin didn't surprise me too much." Alexandra added as an afterthought. She smiled at Happy and said to him, "How are you? I overheard you introduced yourself as Happy. I'm Alexandra Kennedy. It is really nice to meet you." |
Quote:
"Right now, we were discussing an annoying Hufflepuff, who has annoyed Alexandra. And this is Happy--" she pointed to the boy sitting next to her--" who is a fourth year like me. Oh, and Alexandra here is a firstie, like you," Lucy explained, hoping she had got the introductions right. Quote:
"I'll work on it," she replied with a laugh. She noticed he kept looking at his food with a kind of longing. "You know, there are tons of other things you can eat while you wait for those to cool. Or, better yet, does anyone know a spell that will cool down food?" She turned to Rafe, the spell expert, hoping he knew of such a spell. Kind of embarrassed that though she was older than him, she had little knowledge of common household spells. Quote:
"Most everybody here is extremely nice, Though, you're bound to get anomalies every now and then." She took a final bite of her cereal and grabbed the jug of pumpkin juice. Pouring herself a gobletful, she sipped it thoughfully. |
