"I'm in love! I didn't know what love was until I met Lucy," Rafe said dotingly. "It was all over coffee last night at Madame Puttifoot's! It was like something hit me like lightning and I knew I was being such a fool and I declared my love for Lucy, she is the only girl for me!" Rafe smiled as he twirled her golden locks around his finger.

Ooooh, melodramatic.

"What's up? Wait, huh? Oh okay. Lucy? Who's that? OH!" Confusing.

Ella replied, "I think I saw her somewhere, I'm not sure, I've never talked to.. there she is! I think!"

Ahhh, true love. She hoped to find hers someday.

"Oh yes, here she is," Rafe was sitting very close to Lucy with his arm around her shoulder. Rafe felt like he found his forever beloved. He wanted to shout it from the rooftops.

"Oh Lucy-- I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where, I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I don't know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep it is your eyes that close."

"In love?" 'Rafe was in love with Lucy' Kat kept thinking over and over. Kat looked at Rafe then at Lucy then back at Rafe. Something was wrong and Kat knew exactly what was going on. Lucy was her best friend and when she had told her that she liked Rafe she was scared of telling him how she felt about him.There was no way Lucy would tell Rafe how she felt. "So how exactly did this happen?"Kat asked Rafe.

Rafe didn't like all of Kat's questions. It was distracting him from concentrating on all the perfections of Lucy. Rafe sighed and finally turned to look at Kat for the first time. "How did this happen? Cupid. It was like I was struck by one of his arrows. I should have told Lucy I loved her from the moment I saw her...think of all the time we could have spent together." With his free hand he took one of Lucy's and intertwined their fingers. "Isn't she just the most beautiful girl you've even seen. Her face could launch a thousand ships...no make that a million!"

Skylark dragged herself into the Gryffie Common Room. She keeled over and just layed there on the ground.
"This homework is brutal! I am going to DIE!"
She didn't get up until she realized that the pouf chairs were ALOT more comfy than the floor.
"Jason! Could you help me up? Please?"

Lucy was staring lovingly at Rafe when she noticed that Kat had come in the common room. Letting Rafe play with her hair, Lucy turned in the direction of Kat and smiled at her.

"Hi Kat! What's up?" she asked her.

But then she lost track of the conversatin because she was listening to Rafe compliment her and tell her that he loved her over and over again. Ahh, this was how life was supposed to be, she thought.

She snapped back to attention when Kat asked Rafe how it happened.

"Uh, well, you don't want to hear the details, it was just very lovely, we went to Puddifoot's last night, and talked....and stuff..." Lucy replied to Kat's question even though it was aimed for Rafe, her face becoming red as a tomato. She didn't want her best friend finding out what she did.

"Umm.. sure" she said to Rafe giving him a weird look. she turned back to Lucy and said " So anyways I was looking for you to tell you about a prank that i was thinking about." She said kind of slowly still confused about how Rafe talked about Lucy. "Umm.. did you give him...?" She asked Lucy while pointing at Rafe knowing she would know what she was talking about.

Zanny walked into the common room after being outside on the grounds. She looked for a place to sit near the fire place since she was a bit chilly. Zanny had always been shy so she didn't know if she should try to make freinds or just stay by herself. She sat down and kept on debating of what to do in her head.

Kat turned her attention to a girl that just walked in. She got up from her spot and walked over to her. "Hey i'm Katlyn" she said as she stook out her hand towards the girl.

Zanny looked up to see a girl speaking to her. She responded, "Oh hi, I'm Zanny" as she shook Katlyn's hand. She was surprised that someone actually spoke to her for once and didn't really know what to do next.

Kat sat next to Zanny and stared into the fire. "So what year are you in?" she asked her trying to make a conversation.

Lucy looked at Kat, and then back at Rafe. And then she turned back to Kat to answer her question.

"Did I give him...what?"Lucy asked playing dumb. She didn't really want to tell anyone what she had done--well, not yet anyways.

She kind of ignored Kat's inquiry about her and Rafe and instead turned to Kat's other comment.

"OOh, a prank?! What is it? Tell me!" Lucy said excitedly, desperate for anything to get off the subject of Rafe. She squeezed Rafe hand, wondering what she was doing to herself.

"You know what" Kat said a little louder than expected. She was frustrated that her best friend wouldn't tell her what was going on even though she knew what it was. She cleared her throat and turned back to Lucy and said "You know i'm your best friend and i'm going to tell you exactly what's on my mind... So here goes." Kat took a deep breathe and pulled Lucy away from Rafe."Excuse us" she said to Rafe and walked away from the couch to the other side of the common room. "You're only hurting yourself how do you know that when this wears off he is still going to act this way towards you?" She really hated what she said but she was always truthful to Lucy. "You're my best friend i'm only looking out for you" She said to her."Now if you still want to know about my prank i'll be more than happy to tell you"

Lucy jumped back as Kat's voice was rather loud--was she mad at her??!! Lucy raised her eyebrows as Kat told her that she was going to tell her what was on her mind...oh great, thought Lucy, here we go.

She followed Kat to the other side of the common room and patiently listened to what her best friend had to say. When Kat finished speaking, a tear rolled down Lucy's face. What her best friend was telling her was completely true--yet Lucy could not let go of the most wonderful thing that had happened to her. She really wanted Rafe to herself, and she was being mean and sefish, and she knew it.

"Aw, Kat, I know what I'm doing is wrong, bu-bu-but I only wanted him to lii-lii-lii-liiike meeee!" And the tears were pouring out now. Lucy bawled and cried and cried like a little baby. She was sad becasue of what she had done and what would happen after this wonderful spell was over. She cried for Rafe and herself. She cried for love.

"I've had the best night with him, Kat, he's so sweet. I..I..I don't know what to do." And she cried some more, wiping her eyes on her sleeve.

Kat saw her best friend start to cry. What to do! What to do! Kat was never good at things like this mainly because she was never comforted or anything when she grew up. "Aww don't cry Lucy" She said as she awkwardly gave her a hug and patted her back. "Is a hug good in a situation like this?" She asked herself not realizing she said it aloud. "Maybe you should tell him what happened" She said as she gave her a reassuring smile. "I'll be right next to you if you do" She said to Lucy. "I'm sure he'll understand"

Lucy heard Kat tell her not to cry, but she just couldn't help it, the tears wouldn't stop flowing. When Kat gave her a hug, Lucy hugged her back and didn't let go. She needed a shoulder to cry on right now.

"Yes, *hiccup*, hugs are really *hiccup* good in a situation like this..." Lucy said as she continued to cry on Kat's shoulder.

She listened to Kat suggest that she tell Rafe what happened. At that, Lucy let go of Kat and faced her, her tears stoping for a brief minute so she could explain to Kat.

"Kat, he's under the spell of a love potion, he has no idea what's going on! As far as he knows, he's in love me, and I have no idea when the potion wears off," Lucy explained as she looked back at Rafe. OH, her poor Rafie, all alone on the couch! And as she thought of him, the tears came back and she was crying on Kat's shoulder again. This was a cry fest.

Kat patted Lucy's back as she kept crying. "Well there's an antidote to every potion isn't there?" She smiled widely at her. "All we have to do is make an anitdote" She said to her.

Rafe hated that Lucy was so far away, but it must have been something really important for her to be sooooo far away. At least he could watch her from where he was sitting. So heavenly...

Wait! Was she crying? "Noooo!" he screamed. He was instantly on his feet and Lucy's shoulder. "No, my love why do you weep? Is it me? If there's anything I can do to make you stop crying, please let me know. It hurts me to see you cry." Rafe sniffed. He didn't understand what would make her so unhappy.

Lucy was about to reply to Kat's suggestion when she heard Rafe shout and rush over to her. She brushed her tears away and tried to smile for him.

"Oh, it's nothing Rafe, really. I'm fine. I was just sad about something. But it's okay now," She said to him, patting his shoulder. She turned to look at Kat, wondering what to say.

"Dont worry i got this" She whispered to Lucyand turned towards Rafe.

"Umm.. Rafe I got this homework and i need your help." Kat started and looked over at Lucy. "I need to find an antidote for a potion" she said to him. She looked back at Lucy wondering what to say next.

Rafe looked confused. Did Kat make his Lucy cry? How dare she! "You made her cry! You're the one that has upset my darling!" Rafe took out his wand. "An antidote! I would only help you make an antidote if it make my Lucy happy and if Lucy was present."

Rafe looked to Lucy and got on his knees and began to beg. "Darling, wouldn't you much rather spend the day with me? Why should I go find an antidote? Unless of course it would please you!"

Lucy was about to say something but then stopped. When Kat had finished speaking, Lucy looked at Kat and whispered,

"Wait Kat. I know it's going to wear off by tonight, the love potion I got said it was good for 24 hours as long as I only put one drop in the drink. And I did. I only put one teensy drop in his coffee. So, I'm just going to enjoy the rest of my day with him, kay?" Lucy finished.

She turned to Rafe and said, "So, Rafe, what do you want to do today? How about we take a walk? At the pathway? Forget about the antidote," Lucy said, softly lowering his wand and reaching for his hand. She helped him get back up from the ground and looked at him expectantly.

It was worth the risk to take Lucy on a romantic flight through the air.

"How about ride?" Rafe asked with a raised eyebrow. "I'm sure the weather's perfect...as are you my love."

"Woah hold up there big guy" Kat said as she took out her wand as well. "I didn't make her cry!" She yelled at him. Kat was really annoyed with this stupid love potion. All she wanted right now was for it to wear off and to punch someone or something. But that is on a different note. She wasn't going to fight Rafe mainly because they arre good friends and its not his fault he is acting this way. "Now before you go pointing that thing at someone make sure you know why" She said as she pointed to his wand with hers.

"Go ahead if you need me i'll be in the dormitory." She said to Lucy. " I hope you enjoy yourselfs" She said as she stormed off. She really needed to blow off some steam right now. 'Time to go punch a wall' She thought to herself.
