"Alright, well then it's all set---during the games, you and I can sit in the stands together and cheer on the house team. Hopefully they'll win the Quidditch Cup! That'd be exciting," LouAnn said, nudging Jack in the side. With him being the quidditch captain, her excitement for the game would no doubt make him happy. "Oh, I absolutely love Hogwarts! My parents went to school here, so I've known about it since I was a little child. I've always been interested in it, and I've always wanted to be a student here. I feel like I'm sort of living a dream! Is it the same for you?"



When the colorful butterflies flew throughout the room, LouAnn glanced up and reached her hands towards them. Her arms and hands mirrored the movements of the butterflies as they made their way throughout the Common Room. When the butterflies were back by their owner's side---in the form of ordinary balls---LouAnn lowered her hands and turned towards the boy. "Very good. I'm impressed," she said. "I don't think we've ever properly met, even though I've seen you around. I'm LouAnn Purple."



LouAnn shrugged when Jack apologized for his frog's actions. "It's okay. It didn't really bother me," she said. LouAnn had seen and experienced worse---much, much worse. In the past few years,she had learned to overlook the little things, like a pet frog climbing on top of her head. LouAnn had really always been calm and collected, though. Things didn't phase her like they did most people. "You should go and get your owl from you sisters, since he's yours. If you're really not that worried about it, though, you can always buy another. In the meantime, you can borrow Orchid sometimes, if you need to."

"A---a load of waffle? What does that mean?" LouAnn asked, a confused expression spreading across her face. "You mean, like, nonsense? It seems like nonsense to me, since I don't understand it, but don't you think it'd be cool to know what's going to happen in the future?" So Jack probably wouldn't be the one to go to if LouAnn ever needed help in Divination. He'd said he didn't believe it, but...what if it was true? Anything was possible, right? "Ancient Runes...a lot of translating. That sounds difficult. How do you know how to translate it?"

"Sounds good to me." Carter said scribbling down an answer. "The rest of the questions seem pretty easy too, we've talked about everything in class." Carter said scanning the paper. "Maybe this homework thing won't be too bad."

Tori smiled at Carter glad for his approval, seeing that she didn't really pay much attention in HoM class."I think we'll do well this year if we can keep this up. You know help each other with homework." she said agreeing with him, "It won't be everyday I'll understand the homework. I bet you won't have any problems though." Tori continued to scribble what she said on her parchment.

Carter laughed. "I'm pretty sure you've got me way beat in Defense Against the Dark Arts. You were really good." Carter said looking down at his homework again.

She went pink at the ears, "Thanks but I think it was beginner's luck." Tori remarked, shrinking her neck to hide her ears from any staring eyes.

Carter looked up briefly from his homework and smiled. "How far have you gotten?" he asked her. "Oh, and have you read the noticeboard, the first care of magical creatures, herbology, and ancient runes classes are coming up. Are you going to take them?"

"I'm somewhere in the middle." she said barely looking up from her work.When he continued to ask about the notice board she looked up and replied,"Yeah I have. I'll be taking Herbology and care of magical creatures. I'm still thinking about Ancient Runes. What about you?"

"Same thing here. I want to take as much as I can. Do you know what ancient runes it?" Carter asked.

Tori bit her bottom lip and cocked her head to the side in thought. She said after a while, "I'm not sure exactly what it is but I'm sure old stuff are included." She sat for a while longer as thought a little more, "Do you know?"

Carter laughed. "No idea, I was hoping you'd know." he said. Then he shrugged. "I'll probably go anyway, no harm in that, right?"

"I guess. But that was a complete guess." Tori said with a little chuckle. She was getting a little tired. She dropped her quill and gently shoved away her work on the table in front of her, "I need to rest or else my brain is going to melt and ooze out of my ear." she remarked with a heavy sigh. She leaned back in the plush, squashy chair and let her head sink into the back of it. She flicked away a stray lock of hair from her forehead.

"Good timing." Carter said setting down his stuff. "I just finished." He sat back and got comfy too. He took a big deep breath. "One assignment down, 2 to go, who knows, we might even finish before our next class starts. Wouldn't that be great, then we'd have some free time. I've been dying to wander around the castle."

"Me too. There are so many places that are just waiting to be ventured into." Tori remarked with an air of excitement. She exhaled gleefully just thinking about the adventures that awaited Carter and herself. A smile slowly crept onto her face with her eyes closed.

Ellie wooped and clapped. "Wow!" she said, watching as the balls turn into butterlies and the dance around the room. "Ooooh, they are so pretty!" Seriously, Ellie thought to herself, how does he know how to do this?? Rafe's a first year! One very talented wizard, indeed. She rushed over to him after he had finished, although she didn't want an autograph. "Can you do something else? You're really talented!" she said.

nancy enters the common room ...
"hi, guys, how are you?"....
"I was wondering ... well, nothing, forget it ..."
"I think it has been a heavy week home ... and I could not go through the classes ...."
"i think that maybe i need help!...."

"Oh, hey Nancy. What's wrong?" Carter asked opening his eyes and looking over with concern.

Daniel entered the Common Room looking for familiar faces. He then spotted some first years and approached them. He overheard that one is troubled.

He cleared his throat and said, "Hello there guys. I m Daniel. I can't help but overheard you talking, is there a problem?" looking at the two.

"Kind of," Mikaela said. "I mean, I've always known I would go her one day, soo," She shrugged.
"But I am happy for finally starting. I mean, I like to learn new stuff..." She trailed off. She looked down at the book she was holding. It was actually a muggle book, she'd found it in a Muggle-store. She had decieded to give it a try,and she's turned out to like it.
"So, do you like to read?" She blurted out.

Tori's eyes popped open at the sound of Nancy's urgent voice, "What's up Nancy?"

"oh, thanks guys..." nancy said to the two guys (tori&carter)..then look at they..
"well, i don't understand this...hum...i try to pass a class .. but come too late the session was over .. "
"how can i know when the class is over..i mean, how often over the time of the classes?"...
Nancy looked down, then back at them .. and realized that there was another guy there ...

Selena walked into the warm and comfy Gryffie common room, and something hit her eye at once: a notice written in pink, sparkly letter posted on their notice board. Upon closer examination, she realized it announced auditions for a healer's helper position which requires... "A solo piece, a wand, a smile and a cookie?" The girl muttered in disbelief. "Oh, you've gotta be kidding me. What sort of Healer tries out by singing and giving people cookies?" The crazy sort, obviously oozing hyperness. Yuck. She thought darkly, but suddenly realized the fact that Kat would be hurt if the older Californian hyper fangirl ever heard those words coming from Sel, so she shut her sarcastic, nagging, inner voice up and plopped herself into the nearest armchair. Ahhh, home in its very essence.

Nathaniel headed into the common room with his cat Vincent hoping that their usual spot on the couch was open.. and it was. Good. They didn't spend much time in the common room because they liked to be outside AND because Nathaniel didn't have any friends in his own house. As the fourth year plopped onto the couch he looked around. Yep,didn't know anyone. He settled in and made himself comfortable. He pulled out some parchment and a quill. He figured it was time to sit and write Mariel a note since he'd not spoken to her since they got off the train.. and since she'd probably received the gift he bought her. He was keeping an eye on Vincent as well. Just then he spotted the feline messing with someone. Great. "Vincent! Leave them alone,buddy. Maybe they don't want you butting in. Come on. Get over here." he said as he patted his chest. That usually got the cat to jump up and lay down for a while.

Sloane eased back into her armchair, enjoying the bit of relaxation at the moment. She watched as a younger boy conjured several balls of fire out of thin air, then - somehow - turned them into colorful butterflies. Heh. He was a good entertainer; this was true.

But just as she closed her eyes and felt the comfort of the soft chair cushion against her head, something furry nudged against her leg. Her eyelids fluttered open and she glanced over to see a cat waddling over to the boy who was now scolding the feline. She smiled. "Oh, it's all right." Although she owned an owl and she usually didn't prefer animals, Sloane did, in fact, like cats. Maybe it had something to do with their independence or the fact that they weren't always nagging at you like dogs were prone to do.

"What's his name, again?" She asked, dropping her hand towards the floor so the feline might return. "Vincent?"
