Down the staircase to the left of the main staircase in the Entrance Hall lie the dungeons of Hogwarts. In order to reach the various classrooms, dungeons, and the Slytherin Common Room you have to make your way through the creepy, dark, corridors...

Plymouth danced her around in a little circle. Evolette McKenna was Plymouth Morgan's Anti!Mope. She had been for a while now - and it made sense now why he'd moped down to this half the castle. To be fixed, obviously.

"Changed a little how?" Plymouth asked, curious as ever.

Evolette took to twirling, following Plymouth as he danced about. "The company- that part has changed." A LOT. Really. Reaching out, she poked his shoulder and then moved back a few steps with a giggle.

"Should I ask you to elaborate? Or are you just taking your sweet time to make me wonder?" Plymouth's eyes narrowed at her. Secrets between them were not his idea. He'd tell her everything if she'd allow it.

"I know about you and Daphne, Plym." Evolette said, she stopped twirling to give him a LOOK. Really- they didn't have secrets. Not on his part at least. She knew. She just didn't want to talk about it.

"So far." she continued, shrugging, "I'm on my own."

Plymouth opened his mouth to ask her the 35345 MILLION questions he had about what Evolette McKenna thought about everything and to just tell her EVERYTHING about Daphne Hopton....

... but cut it off. "On your own? What?" No, really, what?

Shrugging, Evolette twirled once more- content with her non-knowledge of Plymouth and Daphne's relationship. Nope. She didn't want to know. Not right now. Not yet. "You know. Alone. By myself. Just me." she replied with one more twirl.

Plymouth reached out and caught Missy Elusive Head Girl by the arm. "Alone." He just kind of stared at her for a long, long moment, then dropped her arm. He wanted to ask what had happened - but he was kind of stuck on WHY hadn't she TOLD him? Why?

"I decided that I don't want to go with him." she replied simply, as if this conversation was the most obvious thing in the world. "So, I'm just going on my own." Maybe. Or maybe she would take Henry. Or Willow. Or HIM. Except he wouldn't go. So, she'd probably end up alone anyway.

"You just decided all this," Plymouth asked with a raised eyebrow. He crossed his arms to LOOK at her, his expression torn between lots of different and conflicting emotions.

"Well."

Well.

"Have a good trip, I guess?" It's possible that Plymouth was pouting.

"I thought we were done with the pouting, Plymouth." Evolette said, leaning against the wall and tilting her head to look at him. "What's wrong? You don't think I can take care of myself?" If there was anyone she COULD take care of, it was herself.

"We were done with it, but you made me pout again," Plymouth totally BLAMED her. TOTALLY her fault and it was time to call her on it. "You don't talk to me. You don't tell me anything, actually, unless I happen across something and ask when you say something cryptic." Sulking ensued.

Now Evolette was pouting too. "I DO tell you things Plymouth." She replied adamantly. If anyone, Plymouth was the one she told things to. "I've just decided this, recently." Not really- because it had been in the back of her mind the whole time, but she wouldn't tell him that.

"Maybe I won't be alone. Maybe I will take someone." she added. "But- right now, as it is, it's just me."

Plymouth wanted to believe that, really really, but he didn't. Couldn't. She kept things from him. It was her right to do so, sure, but it still hurt Plymouth's feelings. "Okay," was all she got for a while.

He slid down to sit on the cold, stone floor. "So where are you going exactly?" Alone. Alone sucked.

"See?" Evolette asked, she could practically sense the disappointment in him. "I'm letting you down, I'm not being a very good friend, and I should tell you things, but I can't." She frowned and kicked at the ground. "That's part of the reason why I should go alone. I can't change anything about me, if I have someone there- who knows me."

Looking down at him, she shrugged, "I don't know. Everywhere. Paris, Italy, New York, Vienna?"

"No. You won't," Plymouth insisted. She COULD tell him things. She could tell him anything. But lately she'd chosen to tell him nothing. She was blocking him out... but why? Why?

So.... okay. She wanted to change? "I like you just how you are. You right there. I like that." Why change?

There were a lot of why's.

Plymouth just .... stared up at her, poor little lost puppy boy.

With the flick of her wrist, and a nice handy cleaning spell, Evolette sat down beside Plymouth, and frowned at him. "Change." She repeated, dropping her head on his shoulder, "I don't much like myself the way I am." And she was the one who had to live with herself, all the time. You know?

"I kind of wish you could come with me." she added, now frowning at her hands. She didn't much like being alone.

Well ugggggggggggggggggggggggggggh!

Plymouth automatically slipped his arm around her for snuggles, but he was in full UGH MODE. UGH. "Evolette McKenna - there is nothing here NOT to like," he nudged her knee with his own and gave her head a little easy head-butt.

"I asked YOU to come with me..." And she had said no. And things had changed. "I..." Plymouth was a pleaser. How could he say NO?

He thought of Daphne.

"I don't know what to say. I probably need a minute before I start spouting out stupid stuff."

"You can't though." she replied instantly, regretting saying it in the first place, "You have a job." YES. He did, one which she was still very proud of. "And Daphne." Do not roll your eyes, McKenna. "And a lot of things to do HERE."

Plymouth was not going to come with her, she would not let him. But that didn't mean that she didn't still want him to.

Plymouth did have a job. Probably. And, for as long as she'd have him, he had a Daphne. "But I have a best friend, too. You helped me out so much, Evolette, last year. This year. You don't ever let me help you though. I wish you would."

"Because-" Evolette pointed out, "Helping other people is a lot easier than letting other people help you." Truth. "When I come back, I can tell you things. The things that I'm not talking about, but I won't come back until I can do that."

Plymouth's feelings were hurt, but he nodded anyway. It was silly, and he knew it, for HIM to be hurt when it was OBVIOUS that Evolette McKenna was the one that.... was sad. He looked over at her for a long time. A LONG TIME. Then he gave his Plymouth!nod with a smile. "Okay. But two things." Maybe three, but two for now. "One - you do come back. Two - you tell me stuff when you DO come back. And three," he'd just slip it in there, "I"ll miss you."

Evolette nodded at each of Plymouth's "things". They seemed resonable enough. "You're not allowed to go off and get a new best friend while I'm gone." she told him, tilting her head. She couldn't come back and NOT have a Plymouth. Who else was she coming back for?

"No." Evolette chuckled, nudging his arm. "I'm not absolutely certain about ANYTHING. I'm just going on impulses." She was being impulsive, for once, doing what she wanted to do exactly when she wanted to do it.

"Who knows. Maybe I'll come back married." she added, shrugging. Maybe. It could happen. She didn't know WHAT would happen.
