"Yes, you most definitely will." Marilyn flashed Carter her best smile, wanting so much to kiss him...She sighed, urging herself to behave. Kissing wouldn't be very appropriate in a dark corridor, She gave him a last longing look before disappearing into the Slytherin common room.

Carter watched her go. He missed his chance to do something. He really did. He stood there for a second before doing something crazy. He pounded on the wall. "Marilyn!" he said hoping she'd hear him from the other side.

Marilyn had closed the entrance and rested her head against the wall. She'd stood there for only a few minutes before hearing someone banging against the stones...and yelling her name? Carter?...She opened the wall back up immediately, stepping out and feeling startled. "Is everything okay? What happened?"

Carter's face lit up when Marilyn reappeared. She heard him! He took a deep breath. This was it. "I can't do this anymore." he said closing the space between them. "This isn't fake for me. Marilyn was...dumbfounded. Did he just say what she thought he did? She tried to say something...anything to Carter, to make sure he wasn't pulling her leg. He wants to date me for real? She tried not to...but the tears were starting to gather in the corners of her eyes. Marilyn hugged him tightly. Finally finding her voice, she said..."Do you mean it?"

Carter was so relieved when she hugged him. He was actually still shaking a little bit. He was so nervous! "Absolutely." he said hugging her tightly. "I thought I screwed up. I never should have suggested fake-dating. I should have asked you out in the first place." he said. He pulled back a little ways so he could look into her eyes. "Marilyn, will you be my girl?" he asked with a smile. His smile then changed to a smirk. "I'll even jump up onto a table again, it seemed to have worked last time."

Marilyn scoffed, wiping at her eyes. "Please don't jump on a table. That was pretty embarrassing the first time." Her smile was wide and took in her boyfriend's face. Her real boyfriend. Gods, she was so happy. "I was stupid for agreeing. I should've know that this would happen...I started liking you and it was hurting me having to hide that from you..."

Carter was grinning so wide his face was starting to hurt. "I know what you mean." he said. He'd been struggling with the same things. But now all of that disappeared. He was so happy. His eyes the glanced over at the wall she just walked out of. "So how thick is that wall?" he asked. "You must have either been still by it or I must have been yelling pretty loudly."

Marilyn appeared thoughtful for a moment, exaggerating. "Hmm...You were actually pretty loud. I was about to walk to me dorm when I hear someone beating on the door..." She grinned widely and wrapped her arms around his neck again, laughing. "Im just kidding! I was standing by the door...having a moment with myself." She bit her lip and looked down. That probably didn't sound right.

Carter was surprised by the kiss. But not enough so to question in. He kissed her back. "And I was out here just hoping I didn't screw it up." he said glad he hadn't. "You really are wonderful. I the things I said, even though I was on the potion, I meant it." he said. His arms were still around her waist. He loved the feeling of her in his arms. It was like she was always meant to be there. "You are the best thing that's ever happened to me."

Carter was walking Marilyn back to the Slytherin common room after a fun day in Hogsmeade. "I had a lot of fun today." he said taking her hand. "Thanks. Even though we lost the quidditch cup game, it was a good day." he said squeezing her hand. It was amazing how much he loved spending time with her.

All Marilyn could offer was a small smile. She needed to tell him now. The quilt had ate at her the entire time they'd "celebrated"...and If the blonde didn't get it off her chest soon, she felt like she might explode. When Carter squeezed her hand, Marilyn couldn't help but frown. "Carter...how much do you like me?"

Marilyn frowned. "No, you're a perfectly adequate boyfriend." She laughed lightly, feeling a lump forming in her throat. He deserves to know... Her mind was literally shrieking at her..."Do you consider yourself fairly forgiving? Do you forgive easily?" Why couldn't she just come out and say it?!

Marilyn smiled weakly before saying "No, I don't regret being your girlfriend...but you might regret asking me out..." Which was true. She'd done something so bad...He'd never forgive her.
