Samson listened in to the Professor's discussion (not without nodding his head every now and then, trying not to drift off to sleep completely. Really, the mist wasn't helping. Gah.) and turned his book and scribbled on his parchment at every necessary moment. Geez louise, you'd think they'd talk about man-eating flowers or poison-squirting flowers or the most ideal flowers to give to your girlfriends (Er. Scratch that?). Oh, riiight. This wasn't herbology. This was divination, hence the need for 'special' flowers. Psh.

He looked around to see if anyone didn't have a partner yet, just as one girl piped up, asking for a partner. "I'm free," he said in a hoarse, just-woke-up voice, though not really meaning to. He cleared his throat loudly, then looked to see if the girl had any other partner takers. Love message? Good grief.

He... didn't mind working alone?

Nataly heard someone answering her, and she turned around. It was a boy, and he looked much older that her. Probably in sixth or seventh year. He was even taller! And that was saying something.
"Great! Now we can be partners." she answered as she made her way to him. "I'm Nataly, by the way. A Slytherin third year."
She looked around, and saw like the pairs started sorting the flowers. "Who will be first?" she asked him.

Lyra stood up from her chair when the professor had ordered them to make partners. Right. At first she wanted to ask Evan but saw that he was partnering up with Blake. Well , atleast it wasn't someone like Fallon or that evil Shana.
The Slytherin sighed softly and then held her arm high in the air. "Anyone has no partner??" she asked and waved with her hand.

Evan looked around and understood that it'd be more romantic if he worked with a girl. He just couldn't imagine himself reading flowers for Blake. But as always, Blake was sooo fun that Evan was glad they were partners.

He laughed out loud when Blake wiggled his eyebrows. Trying to end his laughters he said "I interpret first?" He then added as an after thought. "We'll choose the flowers ourselves and know the meaning already, right?" He didn't want any true interpret.

"Hi, my name's Zoe. I'm a first year. I haven't really studied Divination before. Do you study flowers a lot in this class?" Zoe looked up expectantly.

Kiri would have liked to work with Raiden, but he seemed spectacularly distracted for some reason. With a disappointed glance at him, she got up and wandered through the classroom, picking and discarding flowers. All those smells, most of them radically different from each other, made her head spin whenever she bent down to grab another plant.

After a few minutes, Kiri thought she'd picked up the ones she wanted. Their colours clashed horribly, and she wondered if that wasn't a sign in itself. A very Divination-y thought to have, she thought wryly, looking around for another partner.
She spotted one.
Excellent, it was that girl (Lyra, her brain supplied a moment later) she'd already worked with last year. And she was a Slytherin, too.

Kiri shuffled over and prodded her shoulder. "Hey Lyra, want to partner on this?" she asked.

Oh Evan liked the brow wiggle, wonder if he'll fancy a bootay wiggle too, hehe. "I'll arrange a bunch for you and you'll have to decode it's meaning, okay?" Blake went over to his desk a began working on his tussie mussie. Aww tussie mussie was such a cute word. Shrugging, he picked a red tulip, ermm yeah a RED one for EVAN. Tracing his fingers on the flowers gently, Blake selected a Pear blossom and lastly he twisted the stem of a red and yellow rose together and placed it in the middle of his bouquet.

"TADA! Here is my secret message." Blake said and handed the bunch to Evan with a bow.

Great? What was so great about that. Meh. Ah well. Samson had no right to complain. The sooner he'd get a partner, the sooner they'd get done, and the sooner they got done, the sooner he could leave. Although he would admit, this was one lesson he could easily share with Sabrina, and even SHE would think it a joke and smack him or something. Heh.

"I'm Samson. Good to be working with you, Nat. You don't mind if I call you Nat, do you?" He wasn't waiting for an answer, either.

Gathering a random bunch of flowers, he pushed them over to Nataly. "Well. Y'know what they say. Ladies first." Nudge nudge wink wink.

Lucille looked around. Hmm, there didn't seem to be anyone that she knew, and she needed a partner.

That was dangerous! He looked back at Kapoor and waited for the FLOWER-y lesson to start.

“Alright then, I guess we should go collect our flowers for our… umm tusy whatever’s and meet back here to decipher them” she said looking at Cam sheepishly. Zoe had never heard of a flower arrangement being called something like that. Maybe she would ask the professor for the spelling and to say it really slow so that she could pronounce it correctly next time. Standing up she started around the room to collect her flowers, with her book propped open on her arm.

When she came across Professor Kapoor she tapped him lightly on the shoulder and asked, “Could you please pronounce the name of the flower arrangement again, sir. I don’t think I got it quite right. And also are all of the flowers listed here in the classroom to choose from?”

Abigail looked around, she wasn’t sure who to partner with, but was hoping to meet someone from a different house. “Does anyone still need a partner” she asked the class hoping someone would answer.

Mina listened carefully to Tibi's reading. 'Turns out I really am an open book,' she thought as she jotted down his points. Looking back up at his flowers, she crinkled her face slightly and turned her attention to the text.

Blue rose, mint, and ivy

"So it says that blue rose represents attaining the impossible, mint is suspicion, and let's see...ivy is dependence," she blinked in curiosity. The combination was an interesting one and a bit intriguing as well. Thinking of all the possible meanings, she crunched her nose in thought.

"Okay, well if I'm deciphering it right. I'd have to say that you are quite dependent on those in your life, but you have a sense of suspicion when it comes to life, maybe a suspicion of this new life away from what you are so dependent on. You might feel that these new changes in your life are impossible and you are very suspicious of them."

Looking back up at him, she smiled weakly. "So, yeah. How did that sound?"

Jack looked through all of the meanings and decided upon the three that most he thought were best, Lily of the Valley, Oats and a Blue Rose.

He was very fond of the scent of Lily of the Valley. They grew on the north side of his mum's house. He remembered when he was little, he tried to hear the bells. The memory brought a smile to his face. The Blue Rose was neat. Nice Ravenclaw Blue....and it smelled pretty good, too. Oats were, well, oats.

Tying the three together, he handed them over to Fred.

'Reading the future with the help of flowers'. Could that be even possible? But scented nice anyway at least it'd be a fresh class. So, partners again. He looked around in the class for Rose, as usual but she already seemed to have a partner : his housemate Rafe. He smirked when he remembered the combat between Rafe and himself in one of quidditch trials. 'Anyway i need to find partner' he thought and as he did so he heard a girl calling out for a partner who looked like the Hufflepuffl he saw in the hunting for cores and woods thing in one of the classes. With a broad smile on his face she walked to her. ''Hey, we've met before, have not we? My name's Joshua the master of thnigs that needed a partner to do and...well...i need a partner, too. What about doing this flower thing with me?'' he asked

Evan nodded and waited for Blake to choose. He inhaled the scent deeply again, it was wonderful. He then watched Blake, who was still choosing flowers. He started to think on his own tussie mussie, he would include--

"Ah." he said with a grin. Good combination. He had to fight with his nose not to smell it. Back to the earth, he looked at the book, and started interpreting.

"Red tulip means declaration of love." Evil grin. Who was that unlucky lady? But then he remembered they were chosen on purpose. A moment of let down. He went on less enthusiastically. "Pear blossom is lasting friendship." Aww. "Aaand red and yellow together rose. Unity." So, based on these, he'd predict his life, right? He took a deep breath as if he would lecture longly, and started talking. "You'll declare your love, or someone will declare love at you --not sure on that-- and uuh, you have a lasing friendship... and uum... yeah, two of these mean unity anyway, so the third flower supports it. Well, the love will end good in unity, and it'll turn into a... lasting friendship?" Fail.

Abigail looked at the boy who’d asked to be her partner; she couldn’t remember meeting him before, but she had a feeling that she hadn’t liked him. ‘Oh well I still need a partner...and I can’t say no when I can’t even remember why I hadn’t liked him’ she though.

“Sure I’ll be your partner, and I’m Abigail by the way.” She smiled. “I suppose we should get started then.” Looking at her notes she decided what meaning she wanted and created her tussie mussie picking up an Agrimony, some Bells of Ireland, and finally a Yellow Rose. “Hear you go” She handed them over to Joshua.

Tibi smiled as he watched Mina jot down his points, but he couldn't quite see how many. "How'd I do?" he asked.

But before he got an answer, she'd started reading his tussie mussie. He nodded a little, before answering. "Well, I was going for mystery with the blue rose, but you got the others, so that's full points for that point. And.. well, you're right about the suspicion stuff, so I'd say you got the gist of my message anyway! Full points!" Tibi smiled and jotted them down in his parchment.

"No, I don't mind." Nataly answered, and looked at her book. What message should she tell Samson? She read quickly through the list of flowers.

So many meanings and flowers! she thought, distracted. How could she choose something.

Finally, she decided what flowers to pick, and started making the tussie mussie on her desk. First, she grabbed a cherry blossom, tracing her fingers on the flower gently. It was beautifull and had a very exotic smell. In a good way. Secondly, she grabbed an Epigaea Repens. It was just a little white flower, but it was still adorable. The last flower was a tulip tree. Yes, it was simple, but it's meaning was very pleasant and sometimes complicated.
She twisted the flowers together and placed them into a bouquet, and handed them to Samson.
"That's my message, let's see if you can guess all the meanings." Nataly said, preparing her sugar quill and a parchment.

'A tussie....wussie...what?' Taking out her book, she flipped to the right page and stared down at the chart before going up and picking her flowers. She took a minute or so before picking up a white rose and then glanced around some more. Finally deciding on two more flowers, she picked up a red daisy and some rue before going back and sitting down next to Rafe, holding the little bunch of flowers out to him, smiling a little. "Here you go."

Iris looked around for someone who looked partnerless ... Great ... I seem to be the only one with out a partner... She picked up her quill and turned it around, still looking through the class room for some one who wasn't already working with another person.

Mina blushed in embarrassment at her forgetfulness. "Sorry about that," she smiled. "You actually got it right. I'm quite the open book as my choices imply. So you got full points."

Mystery, yes that blue rose did confuse her. Still she was very pleased she did well on the ready.

She readied her parchment to hand in and waited patiently for the next part of the lesson.

''Nice'' Josh smiled at her directly gazing at her eyes. ''Sure, i'm on it'' he piecked up the flowers from the desk and examined them first. Agrimony : Thankfullness, Bells of Ireland 'pretty ones' : luck and yellow rose : friendship, dying love, jealousy, infidelity 'Hmm sad'. ''Can you give me a moment?'' he asked kindly and pretended to examine the flowers more sniffing them 'She chose yellow flowers. Is yellow your favourite color honey? I bet it is'' ''Well..dear Abigail. You are mostly content with your life, are not you? But there are things that you worry...well...not worry, let's say things that you are not sure of and that kinda scares you a little. You need to trust yourself more, i say'' he took a deep breath wondering if his guesses were right ''Anyway looks like your's a faithful friend and you value friendship a lot. Don't worry about your current state though, you'll find a nice friend who can understand you and your ideas of being friends, someone who values friendship as much as you do. That's how your luck will find you.'' he sighed his mind was closed again for some reason locked with many thoughts at one time ''I'm sorry. That's all i can say for the time being'' he smiled at her again. He wanted to say more, there was more. Where did they go?

Lucille clamped eyes on a slytherin girl who looked partnerless. She grabbed her chance.
"Hi," she said, smiling as she walked over. "Do you need a partner?"

Iris smiled at the hufflepuff ... Whoo! a partner! "Yeah ... thanks ... that would be great!" Iris smiled at her, indicating that she could do the flower thing first ... because she didn't really get it.

Still with her arm in the air, Lyra started to hum a song she had heard on the wireless one day. The prod on her shoulder made her turn around but because she still had her arm in the air it looked like she performed a drastically failed pirouette.

Grinning stupidly she saw that another Slytherin girl had prodded her shoulder and she looked very familiar. "Hey Kiri!" she said excitedly , surprised that the now fourth year still knew Lyra's name for they only had talked once in Transfiguration last year. "Yea of course i'll be your partner" she added.

Right, so now that she had found a partner they had to make a tussie mussie? Lyra giggled softly and muttered the word "tussie mussie tussie mussie" a few times to herself. She carefully looked passed Kiri for a second and looked at Evan who was already reading Blake's flowers...which was a very odd sight. The second year looked back at Kiri again. "Right, shall i make a Tussie Mussie.." she giggled again. "shall i make one first or do you want to go first?"
