A sweet and aromatic scent was forthpouring from the Divination classroom that afternoon. Roses of several varieties bloomed and shed their multi-coloured petals on the floor almost lining the path to the various desks. Lilacs, and orchids were placed at the front of the room and standing behind a veritable spray of creeping white jasmine was the well meaning lunatic of a Divination Professor, Kapoor. Meerily standing by as the students entered the class.
"Good afternoon, students. Please don't move the chairs. They've been pushed together as we'll be doing team exercises today." He explained.
'Jasmine for true friend? Not even close.' Marie thought. "So are you saying that just because someone is friendly to someone else, like say one of their professors, that means they are true friends?"'Yeah right, like I am going to be true friends with a professor.' "I do agree about the Forget-Me-Not for never forget. Like Evan said, the name alone is a good reason, however, the meaning of the flower is true love. I have heard that you never forget your true love once you find them so for that reason forget-me-not could mean never forget."'Who knew divination was going to turn into a debate class' Marie thought as she listened to everyone, including herself try to defend why their choices would be best.
Kay listened to Marie as she gave her reasons about the flowers. She was glad that know one had said anything about her flowers. Maybe she was right about some of them. Marie was debating with one of the other students about Jasmine? "Marie what do you think about my flowers that I picked. Are they good chooses?" Kay asked her.
Chelle looked up at the board. `Okay, never forget, kindness and true friend. What could that mean?' she murmured to herself, looking down at her book. She turned to Luna and started discussing. `Don't you think forget-me-not is for never forget?'

"I think Hibiscus is a good choice for Kindness. Being gentle goes with being kind so that would work. I'm not sure about Daffodil for True Friend though. Just because I may respect someone does not mean I am a True Friiend."'Like I respect the professors here but that still doesn't make me their true friend.'"Maybe we should ask Evelyn what she thinks, after all she is the team captain." Even though the final answers were going to be a group decision Marie was glad it wouldn't be her placing those flowers on the board.
Wesley listened to the others debating, still mentally cringing from the revelation of hidden flower meanings. She could have been giving Mother bouquets of "I hate you's" all this time and never have known it. Squeezing her eyes shut and biting her lip, the tiny second year tried to blot out those thoughts for now and turn to the subject at hand.
Wanting to help out, Wesley looked at her textbook page. Nothing was really matching up word-for-word, so she supposed it had a lot to do with interpretation. Carefully following the conversation, the Hufflepuff opened her mouth to speak, stuttering, "B-but Forget-Me-Not m-means true love. I agree with the name idea, but y-you can't really go with the name- because that's the English n-name, not the J-japanese name. F-for all we know, in Japanese, the F-forget-Me-Not could really b-be translated into P-passionate Desire," Wesley giggled a little bit, her face turning red, before continuing, "So...I think the Z-zinnia would be good because if you're loyal to someone you'll n-never forget them, right?
Taking a deep breath, she looked hopefully at her team mates. Eyeing Marie, who seemed to be very knowledgeable on the subject, Wesley flinched, hoping she wasn't going to get yelled at.

Evan opened his mouth to object on her decision about Daffodil when another girl spoke up. He nodded in agreement, she had just spoken his mind. He could hardly hold himself not to roll his eyes at the first girl (Kay). Seriously, just because you respected someone didn't mean you were their friend. Friendship included respect, but didn't mean it.

Evan turned his blue eyes at the girls. Oh Gawd. Were they serious? They were doing meanings, not going into deep stuff, nor basing on real life. He took a deep breath and tried to answer in a casual tone. "Then would you please tell me what is true friend? Friendly does mean true friendship. If we base on your theory, nothing is true friendship here." He looked at them expectantly. He really would like to hear their idea, now that they had laughed at his.
He looked at the Slytherin girl (Marie) open mouth. How could she know his name? He looked at her suspiciously. Was she stalking him? He decided to ask, but it was class. No chatter. He wondered what her name was, like he cared. He knew he would forget them all once he walked out of this classroom.
He looked around boredly. Why was he the only guy in the group? He knew there weren't so many boys in the school, but still he knew there were some. He felt trapped! He peeked at the other group, then turned back to his when another girl spoke.

Evan now couldn't hold himself, and rolled his eyes. Why would that apparently-Marie girl who stalked him had guessed his name determine whether the Huffie's choices were good or not? Was she the group leader? Not at all. Was she an expert? He doubted. Then why? He wrinkled his nose, but said nothing. It was between them. Though he did glance at Evelyn to see if she would put her weight into this. Because to Evan, it was getting out of way a bit. He wanted to leave this group. Immediately.

Then, finally, a clever Hufflepuff spoke up. Just in time. Evan smiled brightly at her. Aww, she was so cute! In a friendly way. Listening to her idea more intently than the others', he thought about it for a second, then had to repeat a girl's ideas, whose he had already forgotten. He felt sad to come up against this cute girl, but they were debating after all.
"Yeah, Zinnia is a good idea, but also, would you ever forget your true--No wait. You're right." He nodded, smiling. Haha, he was drawn into the same mistake with the arrogant girls too, but the cute one was right. The "you never forget your true love" was only a derivate, while loyalty was actually right. Really wise.

Evelyn stood there listening to everyone's opinions. There were so many flowers and different meanings, it was kind've hard to follow. "Oh don't worry about it Abigail. I don't get embarrassed that easily." she smiled and laughed quietly. "A Pink rose for true friendship?" She asked more to herself than the group. 'What really defines a true friendship anyway? All of those could be the right flower for it.'
She was just about to say something to Evan when another Huffie started to speak about a Hibiscus flower. "Yea, gentle could mean kindness. We'll keep that one on the list." she nodded to the girl, and then started listening into the other suggestions everyone had before distractedly replying to her last mention of the Daisy. "We'll keep Daisy on the list as well, though i'm not so sure about it."
What the slytherin girl said about the Forget-me-not actually made sense to her. "Wow, i never thought of it that way." she said surprised, looking from the girl to Evan, back to the girl again. 'Maybe i should be writing all this stuff down so we don't lose track of everything.' Walking over to her bag for a split second, she grabbed her quill, ink, and a piece of parchment before swiftly coming back. "But she has a point as well." Evelyn said, pointing to the stuttering Hufflepuff that spoke. 'Which makes it even more difficult.'

“I didn’t mean that friendliness isn’t part of true friendship, because it is, but it’s not the only part of true friendship. Faithfulness and loyalty have just as much a part in it...sorry I don’t know if I’m making any sense.” She shrugged her shoulders.

Looking over at the professor she put up her hand “Professor are you only looking for three flowers from us? Or can we use more?”

Zoe had been intently listening to everyone's suggestions and wished that she had spoken up earlier so that maybe she could add something original.
She looked back down at the text and tried to find something new. She saw the carnation, which covered disappointing, and freesia, which stood for childishness. There didn't seem to be any that would be better for those two words.
Looking up she added, "Well I think that we can all agree on the carnation and freesia. Those are pretty straight forward. The trouble seems to be with unfavorable.
Our options so far are
Yellow rose – jealousy
Orange lily – hatred/revenge
Red Spider lily – never to meet again
I hope I didn't miss any. Maybe we need a combination of two flowers to mean unfavorable. Possibly a flower that can make the one flowers negativity not as strong since unfavorable isn't a real strong word.
Maybe because it is rooted in Japanese they have a different meaning of unfavorable and 'never to meet again' could mean that you never want to meet the behavior again not necessarily the person. Or maybe you wouldn't want to meet them again while they are acting childish." Zoe finished babbling and looked up at the faces expectantly. She wanted to make a plan so she added, "Maybe we could list all of the possibilities that we have for unfavorable and then vote. That is if we all agree on the first two being freesia and carnation."
She nodded in the direction of a few Ravenclaws who were suggesting a carnation for disappointment. According to the textbook, that flower was definitely associated with the word 'disappoint'. She had no clue what to suggest for the second word, though. "I agree with the carnation representing 'disappoint', but I don't even know where to begin with that second word," she half-mumbled. "What did you guys just suggest?"
Cedric scoured the pages of their Divination Textbook. The textbook provides them a lot of informations that is needed for their class. "Yes, Sir. The textbook determined Freesia as Childishness and Immaturity." he answered as he perused the pages, once more. He's not good at Divination but he was always do his very best on their every lesson of the such subjection. Divination was once a subject that confused him a lot but he's at progress, in understanding Divination much better.
"And Carnation, Sir, is associated and represented the word Disappointment." He stated. He skipped the word Unfavourable cause he didn't find the answer yet. Then he turned to LouAnn who was asking about the other people's suggestion. He pondered for a while, checking every bit of possible answer for the tricky word. "I think LouAnn..err..to find what flower represents Unfavourable.. we must connect Unfavourable to the other underlined words.. So Freesia that represents Childishness and Carnation represents Disappointment. I think Unfavourable may refer to Jealousy, which is represented by a Yellow Rose. To make it clearer, referring to the sentence in the strip of parchment (Your silly childishness is unfavourable and disappointing in my eyes).. Silly childishness and Immaturity can be infer as Jealousy..cause being jealous is a sillyness and unfavourable, yep. And when someone is Jealous and acts Childishly, It is therefore, a disappointment to other's eyes." He suggested, in hope that it will make things clearer and he wished that his statements were all accurate. Cedric was not really sure about his answer so he is free to take other's comments and suggestions.
Chelle looked up at the board. `Okay, never forget, kindness and true friend. What could that mean?' she murmured to herself, looking down at her book. She turned to Luna and started discussing. `Don't you think forget-me-not is for never forget?'
"I think never forget means always remember" she said thinking thats right what she said.

Erica lay her head on the table, she knew tht this wasnt her best subject but refused to give up. Didnt help that she had gotten no sleep and the atmosphere was making her very sleepy and hard to concentrate
`But according to our sentnce (Your silly childishness is unfavourable and disappointing in my eyes), we have to find childishness, unfavourable and disappointing). So the textbook states that disappointing is related to a Yellow Carnation.' Chelle said. `Unfavourable can also be dislike or jealousy. In that case, it could be a yellow rose.' Chelle looked up at luna. `Let's consult Cedric. Leone.
Chelle walked over to Cedric, their leader, and showed him their list.

What? Who was embarassed? Why? Evan's eyes went to and from Evelyn and this girl called Abigail, trying to understand the topic. See, he didn't belong here. He checked his watch. Darn... There was still so much time for the lesson to end! He then wanted to go to a corner and stay there silently, but the professor would see him, now -thanks to Lyra- he must be paying more attention to his attitude.
...A Pink rose for true friendship?... Maybe he could act out fainting? It didn't look so hard, you just collapsed on the floor. Hmm... he looked around shiftly, everyone seemed to be on their own business. He didn't even pay attention anymore, so he missed Evelyn's intention to talk. If he backed off a bit, he'd get some space to lay properly. He was still hesitating though, what if he got detention for interrupting the class? He knew he looked pretty healthy. Maybe he could act out that he was hungry, and that then faint? Yes, that sounded good......I'm putting Jasmine in Kindness as well because...well you're pretty much being friendly if you're being kind to someone......he took a deep breath to collapse...

He made a face and held his stomach. "Ah!" he yelled, and started panting. He wondered if he was exaggerating a bit, but he didn't care. He had started now, and he just couldn't end saying "It's all fine!" Yeah, he had to get out! He pressed on his stomach more, and once again yelled "Aah!" making a face. Now, if he could deceive the professor... the key out of this classroom.

Evelyn was just about to suggest narrowing down the choices when the Evan guy practically doubled over. Eyes widening and a little shocked, she took a closer look at him for a second to see what was wrong. The voice in her mind laughed. 'Well isn't he a good actor! I wouldn't mind getting out of this class myself if i could actually walk...' Narrowing her eyes slightly, she gave him a small smile before frowning. 'He is going a little overboard on it though.' Evelyn herself had a ton of practice pretending to be ill so she could get away from her parents, she knew what he was doing, but she called the professor over anyway.
"Professor! Something is wrong with Evan. He doesn't look too good. Or sound all that well either..." she pointed to Evan to show the professor, before going back and looking over the list she wrote, debating which flower would be best for their given words.

Evan saw that Evelyn's smile, and he made puppy eyes for a second, begging her not to give up him, before he returned to his act again. Okay, he could stop panting now that he had drawn attention. Still holding his stomach, he grasped the desk. His stomach now really ached with his grasp on it. And his cheeks were a bit red now, because of holding his breath or panting, as well as stiffening himself with fake pain. He once again thanked God for being a blonde and becoming red quickly, and bent down more on his stomach. He wondered if it was time to be brave and say 'I'm alright!' Probably not. He hardly sat down on a chair, still making a face of pain, and bent down on his stomach. With a little help of luck, he could actually get out of this class. Now, to vomit by a finger... He had to do that too, secretly.

Those three flowers seemed to make sense, she thought. Looking up she wondered what the others had come up with. Quietly and patiently she sat and waited to hear what the others thought.
Michelle ignored the Slytherin that was sick, considering there was nothing she could do about it and the professor had already been called, and chimed in her opinion. " I think the cherry blossom is the best one for kindness since it has the base word kind as its meaning. I think lavendar would be good for true friend because it means faithful, and normally, your faithful friends are your true ones." Michelle wasn't sure at all about never forget, but she hoped what she did say would help.

"I agree with you on the cherry blossom, but I'm stuck between choosing lavender or zinnia for true friend." Putting down her list, Evelyn stared at the two meanings of the flowers. 'Loyal...faithful...'"Don't loyal and faithful pretty much mean the same thing?" she asked, perplexed. "What's the difference between the two?"

Josh was sniggering at his team mates' struggle to find the true flowers as he had already found them and was quite sure that they were the right flowers. Childishness was Freesia, disappointing was Carnation and unfavourable, he thought, was Orange Lily. That was quite an easy class. He was about to tell the Ravenclaw next to him that it was not really possible to mix two flowers for a meaning (though that was an ingenious idea) as he heard Rose's voice, which he had been trying to listen to from the beginning of the class, spoke up to the professor that something had been wrong with Evan. Evan? Hmm. No matter how kind that Slytherin boy behaved him, Josh knew he actually hated him as hell. But a person was a person so he had to help.
He quickly left his seat near his team and ran to the Slytherin-Hufflepuff side to give him back up. ''Are you okay?'' he asked as he tried to secure him from falling down ''What's happening?''
Michelle thought for a minute, thinking about the definitions for each. "They do pretty much mean the same thing, but loyal applies more often to a political allegiance," she finally replied.
Kay rolled her eye at Evan. Now his playing sick! "Whatever." Kay said under her breath. "Your mean to everyone an now YOU want out of here?" Kay was so mad that she thought she would just tell the professor the truth. "Evan you are unbelievable." Kay said through her teeth. He was mean to the one person who was nice to her in class and now.... "Your not getting out of this class." Kay said putting her hand in the air.

"Wait wait wait." she said hastily to the huffelpuff, forcing the girl's arm down. "Umm, sorry bout that...but he's already started the 'sickness' trick, if he ends up having to stick around he probably is not going to like that and end up being even more obnoxious than before, and probably get nothing done. If he leaves, than its better for all of us." she whispered to her so neither Evan nor anyone else would hear, trying to make it so it sound like she was fully agreeing with the girl on Evan but trying to help out the team as well. 'Though he did have some good points.'
She really didn't think Evan was obnoxious or really mean for that matter, he had his opinions and it technically was a semi-debate what they were doing, so people tended to be a little...out there; even if he was rolling his eyes and looking as bored as possible. Truth be told, she didn't want to be in the class either, and just wanted to speed things along.

''Hey, what t-!!'' Josh, at first, could not understand the force that pulled him back and when he turned back to see who it was, the voice revealed it: Rose. The next second, he caught the look she gave him. ''Ah...'' he stared at Evan and back at her ''Okay, okay.'' he obeyed her. ''It looked like from there'' he pointed the Gryffindor-Ravenclaw side ''that he needed help...so...'' looking around ''...i think i should get back to my team''

Abigail completely ignored the slytherin boy who seemed to think there teacher was stupid, ‘As if he’ll believe that act!’
“I agree with you guys so far, but I think trust is quite a big part of a true friendship, and well...would you trust someone that wasn’t loyal and faithful?” Abigail decided that it was unlikely everyone would agree, and why would they, they were all different people.

Kay took her arm out of the girls hand. "Fine, I just don't like the way he acts." Kay said through her teeth. "I do argee with some of what he said, but everyone else had good Ideas as well." Kay said softly to her. "I won't say anything. But, only because you asked, not for him." Kay said lookly at Even.

Kay looked over to Abigail. She was right and the friendship. "Abigail, I think your right. I wouldn't trust someone that wasn't loyal or faithful. I believe thats where you get the trust part in a friendship." Kay stated making sure that Even heard her. Kay looked at him and just could believe the way he was acting toward people he didn't even know.
