Kay saw the look into Kylie eyes. Kay knew her wand well enough that this was going to hurt. Kay wand was a force to be feared. As the light shot out of it's end Kay saw how thick it was. When the spell hit she had to step back with the pull of the wand flying out of her hand. She smiled at Kylie and was happy that her wand worked so well for her. "That was great Kylie, it went way over there." Kay said walking over to where the wand landed. "I think I understand this a little more then before. It sure takes alot to get the magic into a borrowed wand." Kay said walking back over to Kylie. "Do you want to try again?" She asked.

Kylie was a bit awe-struck. She was also seriously surprised at herself. "Ahh. I'm pretty content with my second try." She laughed. "If you want to give it another go though, by all means be my guest." Kylie wondered idly why Kay couldn't get the same response out of Kylie's wand. Kylie could certainly do the same disarming spell three times better with her wand.. she wondered if her wand was weak or something. "One second. I want to ask Professor Lawson something."

Kylie walked up to Professor Lawson, "Excuse me, Professor. I was just wondering something. It seems that my friend Kay's wand was more willing to work for me than my wand is for her. That is, her wand just shot a relatively decent disarming spell when I just cast it.. but when she uses mine, or at least so far, it's been successful, but relatively weak. Is there a reason for that? Like.. I can most certainly do three times better on my wand than my friends.. but with my friend's I still get reasonable results. She's getting minimal cooperation from my wand. Is there a reason for that? Is my wand.." She paused, "weak.. or is it just stubborn? I don't understand."

Lexi's breath caught in her throat when the spell shot out of her wand that he was holding and hit her non wand hand... Oh my! Her temperature rose about 10 degrees. He looked like a monkey brandishing a banana!

She took a deep breath and did the proper wand movement while saying, "Expelliarmus!" with as much force as she could muster hoping to Merlin she at least knocked him off balance.

Tori gasped and exclaimed, "Oh my... Rafe are you ok?!" She ran over to him. Worry and shocked mixed horribly inside her stomach."Have you been hurt badly? Professor Lawson!!!"

Kay listen to Kylie ask the Professor about her wand. Kay looked at it and wondered. It was lighter and felt different in her hand. Was she being to nice to it. Not willing it enough. Kay tightened her hand around the lighter wand and closed her eyes. She did want her cousin had taught her and pulled all her magic to her center. She opened her eyes and watch for Kylie to come back. Kay could feel her magic around her and was ready to do this one more time.

Evelyn was still trying to figure out Destiny's wand, shaking it slightly to see if she could feel anything, when something hit her foot. For a split second, she actually felt better. 'What?'

Looking down, she found her wand rolling a few inches away from her. She didn't care if it was on the ground and getting dirty, or that her spell was successful, it was her wand and it was right there! Just about to bend down and pick it up, Destiny came into view and beat her too it. Sighing in frustration, she forced a smile and turned to the professor, awaiting the next instructions, letting a true small smile play appear on her lips at what she heard Destiny say. 'I miss it already too.'

Lorcan saw the look of shock on her face.I hurt her! He started towards her "Lexi, I'm so so-"

Her spell hit him mid-step. Her wand flew out of his hand and he was thrown backwards with the force of the spell, landing awkwardly on his side with a loud, nasty crunch. He rolled on to his back and groaned. "I'm sorry Lexi." He whispered.

Rafe hit his head heard and rubbed it a little. "Yeah, I'm fine..." Rafe tried to stand up, but stumbled backwards once more and he decided it wasn't worth it and just sat down. "Maybe not. Why are there little sparklies every where?" Rafe laughed as he looked over at Tori. "I guess my wand didn't like me disarming it." Rafe forced out a laugh. His head hurt really bad.

Lexi started to smile about what she had done as she caught her wand in mid air but she just plain old felt horrible for knocking Lorcan down like that. She rushed over and said, Are you okay? I think I heard something crack. Oh Merlin. Professor Lawson, we need your assistance here." She had to work hard to keep the amusement off of her face.

Tori looked at him nervously and barely chuckled as she bent beside him, "Oh man. I guess not. At least we know not to cross each other with these wands. Stay here...like you're going anywhere, I'm going to try to get Professor Lawson. Don't look at the sparklies either." She got her feet sharply, "Professor Lawson!"

Cela made sure she had her hand on LouAnn's wand before relinquishing her own and she looked at the willow wand for a long moment, trying to get the feel of it. It felt light and a bit swishy, maybe springy. She swished it experimentally and conjured a few brightly coloured sparks.

Cela made a little face. It felt different, it did. Like it was sort of jumping to cast for her but that it wouldn't quite have as powerful a result as her own wand. Weird. She stroked the Willow wood, trying to introduce herself a bit.

"Okay." Cela agreed, taking a few steps up and bring LouAnn's wand up to flick at the Gryffindor. "Expelliarmus!"

Marcus walked over to the young Hufflepuff and gave her a reassuring smile. "I don't think there is anything wrong with your wand Kylie. I think perhaps Kay here might not be confident in using it." He held out his hand to Kay, "Can I have a look at the wand please?"

"What seems to be the problem Tori?" Marcus looked over to her partner and frowned. "Oh..."

Kneeling down beside the young Gryffindor, "Do you need to go the hospital wing? It's not the wand mate..." he raised an eyebrow at the young boy and looked him over to make sure there was no permanent damage.

"Can everyone please concentrate and keep your focus. You may be using a different wand but the results should be the same as if you were using your own." Maybe it might not be a good idea to allow them to use difficult spells, if this was going to happen.

Rushing over to the two youngsters, "Are you okay mate? Do you need the hospital wing too?" Merlins pants, this was obviously not such a good idea.

Not really wanting to try the spell again, Destiny stood and watched everyone practice. She watched as the Gryffindor, Rafe, fly backwards and hit his head. She tried hard not to laugh, but it was kinda funny that his own wand did that to him. What if her wand did that to her? She would surely break it. She turned away from him so she wouldn't exactly laugh in his face. Smiling she turned to Evelyn, 'You don't think we will have to use the other spells, do you?' The smile on her face faded as she realized what she had said. Oh no. That would be so wrong. Look what happened with just a disarming spell.

"Well, I suppose it could have been worse if we had the same wand core," Rafe smirked. Rafe tried to stand up. He felt numb all over. He didn't want to go to the Hospital and he certainly didn't want to miss the lesson. He tried and tried again to try and get up before Tori returned with Professor Lawson, but nothing.

"Ugh, I don't want to go," Rafe would just have to try to suck it up. He forced himself to stand. He was a little bit wobbly, but at least he didn't fall. "Not the wand? Well, it wasn't hers that's for sure...mine sort of put up a shield of its own and the spell I fired backfired!" Rafe rubbed his head. He had such a headache. He could feel a knot forming on the back of his head. "Any ideas as to why? I figured, and this might sound strange, but my wand didn't like me casting a spell against it. Is that even possible?" He probably sounded completely insane.

Lorcan held his ribs and tried to take a deep breath. "Ow!" He noticed the amusement on her face. "Are you laughing at me?" His voice was as hurt as his ribs. He sat up gingerly and leaned against the desk, moving away from her.

He looked up at Professor Lawson and tried to take a deep breath, but couldn't "Umm, I, I, I can't breathe." There was a whining noise in his ears and he was vaguely aware that he might be panicking.

LouAnn made a face at Cela's wand, too. It was far too...unyielding for her. Maybe it was just because she'd held a different wand for so many years. That must be it, because Cela seemed to love her own wand an awful lot. She glanced up to see that Cela was making faces at LouAnn's wand, too, so she supposed the feeling was mutual.

Before she could even blink an eye, though, the Ravenclaw girl had casted on her, and the wand was out of her hands in no time. "Oh, whoa. You got me there," she mumbled, looking at her empty hand. So now...she had no wand at all. Great. Marvelous. Fantastic. Cela could practically cast anything on her now, and all LouAnn would be able to do was run.

Tori looked at him thoughtfully, then back at Professor Lawson,"Is it possible?"

Snickering as everyone seemed to be hurting themselves, Evelyn leaned back against a desk and just watched everyone, carefully twirling Destiny's wand in her hand. "Possibly." she replied, in a little more happier mood now. 'Who knew other's pain could make me happy...okay that just sounded weird and crazy. Of course that doesn't make me happy.' Confused at her own thoughts, she just decided to examine Destiny's wand a little bit more. The wood was quite pretty. "What did you say your wand was again?"

Kay looked at the Professor and handed the wand over to him. She watch him as he looked at it. Kay knew that it was fine, it was her. She kept her magic center and waited to try again. "Professor I don't think it's the wand. It's me. I didn't trust it and was not centering my magic. I would like to try again." Kay said looking at the Professor and remembering the night at the fire. 'Chocolate' Kay thought to herself. "Please Professor."

It was icky seeing her own wand lying on the ground like that. Celandine gave LouAnn a reproachful look and scrambled after it, fetching it and reluctantly passing it back to the Gryffindor.

"Your turn." Cela held the Willow wand loosely,bringing it up to bear and just waiting to be disarmed.

Kylie CERTAINLY hoped Kay was right and nothing was wrong with her wand. She seriously liked that wand, if she had to get a new one she'd be partially heartbroken. It worked extremely well for her. She'd been able to master every spell put her way with it.

LouAnn eyed the wand just lying there on the ground---a symbol of defeat. LouAnn's defeat, that is. Cela had completely just put her into place...using LouAnn's wand! She reached forward and took the wand back from Cela, giving her a little 'sorry about that' look. "Alright, alright, my turn," she mumbled, getting back into place and raising her wand towards Cela. "Expelliarmus!" she called out. Merlin, she hoped this worked.

'No way am I doing other spells with this.' Destiny told Evelyn as she watched the professor examine Rafe.

'My wand, right.' She had forgot to tell Evelyn what her wand was made of. She just figured she might have remembered, but that day at the library was such a long time ago. 'It's Cherry wood with a Unicorn hair core. Typical healers wand.' She stared at Evelyn's wand. She didn't need to ask Evelyn what hers was made of. She had remembered. She remembered her promise not to tell anyone.

Turning beet red Alexandra said, "I think I may have used a bit too much force when I cast, sir. And I am pretty sure I heard a crack when he fell."

Lexi looked at him with concern in her eyes and said, "Stay calm Lorcan, please. If Professor Lawson thinks it's okay I'll go with you to the hospital wing. If you want me to that is.

"There's nothing wrong with my wand." she mumbled defensively out of reflex before calming down again. She could see though what Destiny was saying. Evelyn didn't really want to do anymore spells with Destiny's wand either if she had a choice, but it looked like they didn't at the moment.

"Cherry wood." she repeated, nodding before turning and smiling at Destiny. "I remember the unicorn hair part, I just forgot the type of wood." Weighing the wand in her hand, like she saw Professor Whatshername do, she still didn't like the feel of it unlike the Professor who looked entirely too pleased when using her wand. Sighing, she leaned against the desk again, tapping her fingers on it and waiting.
