It definitely didn't look like an ordinary wand, but he cherished it dearly.

Tibi was one smart little dude, and Jake pulled the kid a little further back, moving around so his back was to Lawson so hopefully the guy wouldn't see they weren't far apart enough to be disarming each other and then they hadn't swapped wands.

"Sssssure... mine's... willow... sssnidget feather," he said slowly, being deliberately vague so they could draw this out nice and long. "I don't wwwwant to try that," Jake suddenly whispered to the boy, looking slightly fearful. He didn't... he just did not. He was slightly scared about using his OWN wand.

Livvy waited for an answer but there was no need for it for Professor Lawson had already started up the instructions. And she just about gawked at the man. Was he for real? They wanted them to spread out and disarm each other? He was just asking for a few trips to the hospital. Busy Nurse Avalon. She was already wrapped up in throwing all of Melita's junk.

Biting her bottom lip, Livvy scratched her head nervously. "Yeah. Sure. But. Don't blame me if I dislocate a bone or something, okay?" she said, trying to come off as funny but there was NOTHING funny about a dislocated bone. NOTHING.

She led Jack towards an empty space in the classroom a ways away from the other classmates. Livvy gripped Jack's wand tightly as she began to hold it up. Pleasedon'tletmekillhim. Pleasedon'tletmekillhim. Pleasedon'tletmekillhim, she thought to herself, anxiously. Taking a deep breath she took a step closer to Jack.

OHGAWD. "Expelliarmus!" Livvy yelled out firmly and with all the focus she could muster. She was NOT going to be the one to explain to Reese, why her boyfriend was in the Hospital Wing with a broken arm or a gouged eyeball.

Kylie was a little nervous of the smile on Kay's face. It was one she hadn't seen before. But, for some reason, she felt a compulsive need to challenge it. After the two switched wands she nodded. "You can go first, if you'd like." She concealed a bit of a smirk herself.

For a moment, it didn't appear like Cela wanted to partner with her wand. LouAnn just listened as the Ravenclaw girl told all about her wand. She knew things LouAnn hadn't even begun to consider about her own wand! "Seems like a really good wand to have," she commented, glancing down at her own wand. "I haven't...really...noticed anything special about my wand. Not yet, at least. "It works...I know that." She lightly laughed at that last comment. When Cela finally passed over her wand, LouAnn happily accepted it and offered her own wand.

"Mmkay, Cela, the disarming spell," LouAnn said, repeating what the professor had just said. "Ready when you are..."

"Me either," Tibi whispered back, hazarding a joke. "After all, I'd like to keep my shoes in one piece this time." He winked at Jake to let him know he was joking.

"So, willow and snidget feather? That's nice." Tibi spoke slowly, turning his own wand over in his hands. "Mine's maple and sphinx fur."

What else could he say about the wand. Tibi looked back over at Lawson, hoping to avoid the man until the trading part of the lesson had passed.

"Oh.. how long is yours? Is it bendy or sturdy or flexy or whatever?" Tibi asked. There. That would give them more to talk about, so if Lawson asked, they could just say they were talking about what their wands were made of first, so that would help.

He'd buy that. Right?

Evelyn felt like crying. Or running away. She had gripped her wand tighter when the Professor spoke about using the disarming spell, but she wasn't really conscious of what she was doing until her wand was gone from her hand. Her heart sped up and she suddenly felt overly protective of it, all the while feeling completely empty.

Quickly taking Destiny's wand in hopes of feeling better, she was disappointed when it barely did anything for her. It felt all wrong, it was too...light. "Fine." she mumbled monotonously and irritably, standing up and moving a little away from Destiny. 'Keep it together Ev! Destiny isn't the one making you do this!' "D'you want to go first?"

Mina blinked at the thought and turned to Carter. Seeing him holding his wand out for her to take, she smiled. She trusted him and knew nothing bad would happen. Carefully taking it from him, she held out her 11 and 3/4, Snidget feather core, Rosewood wand. "It's a bit springy." she offered.
Mina listened carefully and looked around for a place to practice. Finding some room away from their table, she bit her lip and shrugged. "Do you want to go first?"

"Yeah, I'm Tori. And you're Rafe. Carter's mentioned you before."she replied sheepishly. Tori nervously looked at her own wand and then looked at Rafe's wand with more anxiety. She used her let hand out and accepted it while in her right hand she offered her 11 1/2 inches maple, sea serpent scale to him."So, who's gonna go first?"

Lorcan was really beginning to panic now. He wants me to dis-arm Lexi? He must be mental! He looked at her. "Umm, well, ummm, dis-arming?" He couldn't think in a full sentence, let alone speak in one.


Lorcan took Lexi's wand as she took his. He took a few paces away from her and then said "Are y-y-you ready for this?"

How on earth am I supposed do this? He thought desperately, looking at her pretty face.

"Ok, We should give ourselves some room." Kay said standing up. Kay didn't want to look weak, so she put all of her magic into the new wand. It felt different and some what uncontroled like her own. "Ready, I am good at this with my own wand, but with yours I don't know." Kay said to Kylie. She smiled and pointed the wand at Kylie. "Expelliarmus!" Kay said with a little force. Kay watched the light come out of the end of the wand an head towards Kylie. It didn't feel strong like with her own.

ooc: I changed the look of my wand, but it's not really relevant.

"Hmm...maple," he said as he took her wand. It just didn't feel right. He wanted his own. "Well, I do believe that ladies do have the honor of going first." Rafe said with a smile and a small bow. This was going to be interesting. He didn't know if he should defend himself or not. But, he felt slightly uncomfortable going up against a girl. He would just have to wait and see what she was made of.

Smiling wanly at Tibi, Jake appreciated the joke and the younger boy's attempt at lightening the situation. He nodded in rsponse to what the wand was made out of. Sphinx... Tibi was suuuuuuuch a Ravenclaw...

"10 inches... ssssomethin'. And a qqquarter? And it's... twirly," he said confused, the panic distorting his perception. "What about yours?"

Was Lawson there?! Whut?! Oh... no...

Lexi simply nodded her head and took a solid stance, readying herself for Lorcan to disarm her. "Ready when you are, Lorcan." she said and gave him a reassuring smile.

"12 inches. Really too big for me right now." Tibi laughed before sighing. It really was kinda unwieldy.

"The man at the shop said I'd grow into it. And that it was strong, like me." Tibi frowned. "I guess that's something else I have to grow into, too."

Tibi looked over his shoulder, trying to see if they were being watched.

"Erm. What now?" Tibi asked. Should they hold each others? Find something else to talk about?

Ugh.

Kylie had been holding on to Kay's wand loosely, trying to get a feel for it when she saw the burst of light. The wand was still forced from her hand, but it felt weaker in a way. Almost like someone just tapped the wand out of her hand instead of forcing it out. "Nice job!" Kylie called, a little stunned by the light.
Kylie repositioned herself with Kay's wand. It was heavier than her wand. It felt more.. raw than her own did, in a way. She mentally challenged herself to think of nothing but Kay's wand being forced out of her hand. She pushed the shakiness and uneasiness out of her mind and body. "Expelliarumus!" She cried, pointing Ka--her wand at Kay. A jet of light soared from the tip of the wand towards Kay. This wand definitely packed a quick sort of punch, as she casted the spell the light put pressure on Kylie too. Nevertheless, everything appeared to be flawless. Kylie waited to see if she'd actually knocked her wand out of Kay's hand.

This was like torture! Destiny didn't like this wand. She missed her wand! Her poor healing wand.

She really didn't want to go first. Nope. She was scared actually. Scared of what Evelyn was going to do to her!
Backing slowly away from Evelyn to give themselves some room, Destiny nodded. 'Okay I'll go first.' Taking a deep breath, Destiny pointed the wand that wasn't her own at Evelyn 'Expelliarmus!' It felt different and weak. Destiny didn't like it.

Lorcan tried to take a deep breath to steady his nerves but it wasn't really working. Lexi looked as cool as a cucumber and that made him feel even more nervous.

Slashing her wand wildly through the air he cried "Expelliarmus!"

Tori didn't feel right without her sea serpent core nestled in her palm but she shook it off. It was time to get busy.
Tori smirked slyly at him and said impishly quiet," Thank you very much sir.I hope Carter warned you. I'm not one to mess with. On guard." With movement as smooth and quick as snake she flicked her wand and said clearly,"Expelliarmus!" She watched as her wand flew out Rafe's hand and flew lazily into the air. With quick reaction she turned his wand on him and smirked."Your wand likes me by some lucky chance."It worked well enough even though it still didn't feel satisfactory.

It was like the first DADA class all over again. The wand flew out of her hand but it only landed about a foot away from her, just like the first time Destiny tried to disarm her. 'But she sounded so confident...no please don't tell me my spell is gunna be all weak and stuff...' Evelyn did not like that thought at all. A weak spell? She's never done a weak spell before!

Frowning even more at being disarmed with her own wand, she picked up the unfamiliar wand and stared at it before pointing it at Destiny. "Expelliarmus!" Sending a spell from someone elses wand felt extremely different and it made her take a step back and just stare at the wand for a moment, bewildered. With her wand, she could usually feel the power behind the spell and just holding it just made her arm tingle slightly and feel warm. But this...it was like emotionless. A healer's wand was definitely not for her.

Kay watched Kylie holding her wand and saw her point it at her. Kay felt a little off looking at her wand in someone elses hand. Was she afraid of her own wand? Kay grab hold of Kylie's a little bit tighter. Kay heard the spell and felt the wand being pulled out of her hand. It wasn't a forceful pull but a pull none the less. Kylie's wand went to the ground and Kay smiled at Kylie "Great job. Should we try again?" Kay asked picking up the wand. "Here it comes." Kay said looking at Kylie. "EXPELLIARMUS!" Kay said trying to use all the magic she could get to going into the wand she hold.

Kylie was a little more prepared for this one, and even though she knew it was coming, the magic was more forceful this time. The wind was knocked out of her a bit and the wand came flying a good three feet in front of her. "Nice! Improvement with my wand, eh?" Kylie caught her breath again. She got up determinedly and immediately shot Kay's wand out in front of her, she steadied her arm and put force behind her words, put force in her heart. She wanted more than anything else to watch her wand fly out of Kay's hands like she knew she could do. The burst of light was thicker this time, more poweful. Kylie could feel the force. It wasn't the right feel of course, it was too urgent. Too hungry, but she could feel it nonetheless.

Destiny watched as her own wand flew out of Evelyn's hand. It didn't go very far, but it still worked. She was still surprised that she had made her own wand fly out of Evelyn's hand, when next thing she knew, Evelyn's wand was not it her hand anymore. 'Ohhh! I lost it.' She didn't see which direction it had flown in. But then she saw it, right in front of Evelyn's feet. It was like the wand knew exactly who it belonged to. Scratching her head she walked over to pick it up. 'I think it misses you.' Weird.

Reese stood in the middle of the room like an idiot. Everyone had a partner, except her. EXCEPT HER! Yes, there was definitely something wrong with this picture. While twirling her wand around with her left hand, she continued to look around the classroom to see if she had skipped over anybody that didn't have a partner. So far, she hadn't. Sigh. Her brown eyes landed on Livvy and Jack, and then a little smiled formed. Professor Lawson wouldn't mind them having a group of three, would he? Probably not. She quickly looked over at the Professor before heading over to her boyfriend and her friend.

"Hey guys," she said. "Can I join your group?"

"Hmm, not bad Tori, I can't say your wand will do the same," Rafe said. His wand was very much a part of him and his was actually surprised it disarmed him. His wand had done some weird things, it was very protective. Rafe went over to pick up Tori's wand. He took in a deep breath. "Please be careful," he said. Rafe pointed the maple wand at Tori, in a defensive position. "Expelliarmus!" Rafe shouted, but instead of disarming Tori, his wand seemed to put up a shield and the spell backfired, hitting his straight in the chest knocking him off his feet and he hit the wall hard.
